Prosperity gets the feeling that commander Squall will keep his word if he makes a promise.

"You might not be looking for enemies, but the Echidnians? They're looking for ponies. To squeeze them of their DNA and genes for their own weird self experiments," Squall explains. "Believe me, I had a friend who thought he could date one, cause the goat was cute... he met an unfortunate end."

Squall stretches his shoulders. "Now, I'm not asking to fight or anything direct. I could hire the griffons for that. What I need is information. The Echidnians have a radio outpost north of here. Recently it seems like most of the Echidnians have left it, with only a couple remaining. I just need someone to go in and copy their radio calls. To know what they're planning. You have a pipbuck. Should only take a minute to do. What do you say? I pay well."

Prosperity has folded her ears, for a moment very concerned for Doc hanging with Greeda.
But beside rumors, bad gut feelings.. were her suspcions justified?
No. And she won't succumb to it. Such suspicons are what destoryed Equestria in the first place.

She didn't wanted to deal with this guy.. but..

Prosperity even abused a tiny little bit her authority to research couples- she tried to find the wonder pill for her marroage through the magic of statistics.*
Most functional couples were simply hanging a lot together.

It was practical. Guards who dated each other, simply had similiar timeframe for example.
Doc and Prosperity met outside of their sceduape and even their usual "trotting grounds", and find time and place to meet was an adventure of itself.
When you mature, and especialy kids- the sceduale seemed to win over love.

Derringer seemed confused, but then he understood what Prosperity meant. He seemed, embarrassed now.

Squall lead the two mares to a large window that was open. Floating outside was a metal sled... hovering on a cloud. It was strange yet somehow it worked. Squall walked on board it. "Come now, I'll take you to the site on my cloud. It'll be faster than walking through the streets."

The mare took her a deep breath and regained compusore.
Red Shield seemed to admire her for some reason..
But she felt old, fat lame and coward.

Maybe Doc was into Greeda because she wae big and strong..

Squall flew the weird cloud-sled machine low to the ground. He said it was so that they wouldn't be spotted from the air. He did fly it pretty fast though, and there were no seats, just rails on the sides to hold onto. Red did not like flying and held to the rail and Prosperity tightly. Almost like she was scared? The trip took them several miles north and Squall landed behind some hills. He then climbed up the hill, looked around, then came back to the two mares.

"Okay, the radio tower is up ahead. Just a short walk for you. Stay behind trees and rocks for cover. There is a generator down the hill that powers the tower. I'll be down there making sure the power is on and no goats bother you. You might have one or two goats to fight, but they shouldn't be anything you can't handle. Meet back here when you got the recordings ok?"

The assumption that Red has shared her fear of the open sky... soothed her a bit.
She wondered how Doc... seemed so easily adapting...
Why was she starting to compare between Doc and Red Shield?

Prosperity felt dirty for dealing with Squal, but didn't had an actual reason-

Once the mares are off the sled, Squall flies it down the hill toward what Prospoerity would assume is the power generator he needs to turn on.

The radio tower was a very simple structure. A tall metal pole held up with struts and wires, covered in some rust. It was connected to a small wooden shack that was held together by prayers and pieces of wood found in the city. Inside the shack was a table with a radio, a bed that was just a stained mattress, and a small fridge that was baby blue and rust colored.

There were two goats that yes, were slacking off.

They jumped out of their seats when Pros-goat-ity came to the door. "Behh, what is going on? Is this an inspection? asked one of the goats.

'Sort of. I am here, to see how much you have ruined the tech here, and pass anything that might be important to the Magister. No, no need to get up, keep slacking off, please- less moving parts for me to worry about.'

The two goats get up anyway and stand to the side, both looking a bit nervous about this surprise inspection. They just watch goat-prosperity for now.

Prosperity mentaly smirked while keeping grumpy expression.
It was funny- goats or ponies, technicians usually were the same, seeing everypony as idiotic trouble makers, and being the only ones sane in this world filled with idiocy


But it also was encouraging- ponies and goats im the end,aren't THAT alien to each other.
She walked in, looking around,ready to do acting of checking technicap.stuff, and then sneakily downloaf the info

The goats sat down after a few minutes, when they felt safe that Prosperity wasn't going to ram them through the wall for being lazy. They remained quiet.

But then one asked, "We, uh, picked up a new radio signal coming from the north mountain. Don't know if you want to review it? It's weird because it isn't on a military band like the ones Talon company, Enclave, or the Brotherhood use. And the voices sound young. like... children young. Never heard anything like it before."

The recording is of two fillies, both who sound very familiar to Prosperity.

"Momma? Papa? This is Charity and Chariot, using papa's old clinic radio. We both miss you! Please find your way home!"

"Yeah, please call us and tell us you're both okay. We're listening on this frequency. Please be okay!"


There's a lot of static, as the radio they are using isn't strong, but someone they found a way to radio outside the stable. Does the Overmare know? They could get into a lot of trouble if they are found out. The recording ends here, and it is the only one the goats have recorded so far.


One goat behh'd. "Maybe it's military code from the Brotherhood. They're gonna attack us soon I bet."

The other goat nodded in agreement.

Prosperity's eyes tear up, and she is looking away.
'You bunch of idiots!' she bark, wiping her eyes.
'It's just two ponies, thinking they are playing radio. For Grogar's sake...'
She take a deep breath, trying to control herself, in somewhat hurry to download already the stupid thing

The goats nodded. "Bad genes, I knew it. That's why we're winning this war. Ponies don't know the power of Grogar's teachings to make us the stronger species, behhh."

"If those ponies are listening, we can play a trick on them. Pretend their 'momma and papa' radioed back," the other goat suggested. "Yes, papa here, go do your friendship homework, behhh."

The goats laugh.

Prosperity thank Celestia and Luna, and every goddess and god out there.
Even Grogar. Every damn god and diety.

"Beh. You might be slouches, maybe that why you at least had an evoulation kick of funny. Sure. At the castle, I had to hear over and over the whines of those pastel mutant horses. Behahaha!' She laugh evily.

She go the radio, and send her own message, using her normal voice.
"Hey girls... it's mommy.' Her voice crack up.
"You crazy rascals, grandma doesn't like when ponies playing with the radio like this!"
Heavy emotional breath.
"Daddy is ok. Me, mommy is ok too. We have found friends, everything is under control sweeties. Don't let grandpa drink too much, he it too old to handle it...' voice crack*
"Me and daddy love you so much, we think of you all the time. You must be strong for us, sweeties. Don't be reckless, be kind to your friends and each other. Friendship IS magic! Don't... forget that.'

Pause.
"Mommy is preparing the biggest present in the world! Just... .. hang on. Mommy and daddy will be back, and we all can dance and roll between the grass and the flowers."
She send the message.

She coughed, covering her need to sob with a histeric laughter.

The goats look at each other, amazed at what Prosperity just sent. Then they break down laughing with her, thinking it was very funny.

"Good one! Maybe I should go back to the castle to hear some of those pony whines."
