    Default Living in the Dark

Looking for a magic item that if possible can replicate a darkness or Deeper Darkness spell but on a smaller scale - 5ft or 10ft area only

Initial idea was to use Warlock and take Darkness but the area on that would impede others

Basis is that its needed for outside survival due to adverse effects of sunlight on the user

You didn't specify the creature or why it has a problem with survival in sunlight, but in Races of the Dragon (and probably elsewhere) there is an item called Sundark Goggles that removes penalties from Light Sensitivity. If it's a bigger problem than that, though, I don't know if that's a help.

Undead, currently undecided on exact type but it'll be one of the ones that Sunlight is really bad news for. it'll have Sunlight endruance for just in case times where it loses the protection of the dark and needs to flee or get its cover back up

Decided to scrap the idea of a magic item and use a Bane Thrall as the basis for the idea (which is what the creature im basing the idea from is anyway)

Your mundane backup could be a (one size larger than you) parasol (Sandstorm) which might but you a little more leyway from the sun or at least be a role-playing aide.
