I'm kinda lost on what gender you're speaking of at the moment (and think it wouldn't really matter anyway in your case), but if understanding hints is such a problem, just be direct. Be polite and ready some corny jokes to defuse, but just ask. You'll be fine.

And people, if you want hair advice, please give more information, such as your gender, how much you intend to adhere to gender norms, hair length, hair thickness, desired length, oiliness and if you dye it.

I can go on there right now and say the moon landing was faked. It would eventually be fixed, but what if somebody is using it as a source for a research paper in the meantime?

Plus, the changes could be way more subtle and insidious, which is why colleges disallow using it as a source.

Using their sources is different and generally allowed however.

On the one hand, I'm not sure exactly the point you're trying to make.

On the other other other hand, I'm not sure what would be considered indecent and naked exactly in this case. Down to wires, perhaps? But that would be more along the lines of skinning a human, I'd think, since it's exposing all those delicate internal organs and whatnot. Lot easier to distinguish with cyborgs, really. ...probably shouldn't get too deep into this, though.
