    Round 8

    Not Final Actions:
    1. [Diplomacy]Stabilize Por's Sign (X6) 17
The Kingdom of Plantera, ruled by Queen Lin Sid the Serious, has been granted governance over the freshly conquered Por's Sign by agreement from the other Realtaist kingdoms of Anteguo. Advisers, special operations units and mandarins pour into Por's Sign, to undo the chaos caused by the Meritocracy's careless harvest of resources and assertion of its damaging ideology. They are also tasked with better organizing the Sau and developing their society, so that it one day may be as civilized as the kingdom of Plantera. The first reform is the introduction of electronics, connecting the Sau to to the wider world.

    5. [Philosophy]Probe Z4 The boundary of Axiom! 17
Glory to mankind! Not two decades after acquiring interstellar travel, the Djinye are the first race to reach the edge of Axiom. It was not at all difficult for Ceres, Selin's right hand and righteous defender of the weak, to recruit a sufficient amount of curious and adventurous young men and women for the expedition. Ceres spent the journey mostly staring out of the window. He thought that the galaxies in the night sky seem to call out to him, like they were some long-forgotten childhood homes, filled with the same people that experienced the same joy and sadness as the people of Axiom; but the galaxies are as distant as can be, and there was still work to be done here. One day, maybe he... or his grandchildren, more likely, might get to see those worlds. He felt down. It was a little unfair that even if he did everything he could, even if he personally became a scientist and researched the options for intergalactic travel, it was overwhelmingly unlikely that he could ever leave his home galaxy. Still, he was going to give it everything he had, so that like-minded people in the future would not have to face the same disappointing reality.

    UNIFIED PUBLIC TRUST
    Regions D30, D32, E27, E29, E31, F30
    Round 8
    Transcendence Division Head Brez Y'ett
    Diplomacy: 5
    Military: 1
    Economy: 3
    Philosophy: 4
    Intrigue: 4

    1 [DIPLOMACY] Stabilize Demon's Fall (E27) Success

UPT aid ships carrying basic supplies alongside well studied members of the Symbraum pantheon prepared to help bridge the native populace from their existence in the shadow of the Demon Peter to righteous upright members of the Trust are dispatched to galactic sector E27 now known as "Demon's Fall." The population had been living in a state of terror imposed upon them by the child snatching AI which would require time and care to alleviate their cultural trauma. However the Symbraum were, rightly or wrongly, seen as saviors and this perception was utilized to encourage bonding between locals and Symbraum which rapidly helped sway the local attitude in fervent favor of UPT dominion.

2 [DIPLOMACY 5] Establish an Embassy with the Guild-Enterprises of Nyx (NYX)

The arrival of economic tendrils from a foreign pantheon was somewhat expected given the Symbraum's own lackadaisical approach to material matters of trade although the Nyxians were not the entirely neutral party that had been hoped for. Tensions existed between the Nyxian merchant lords and the Symbraum's ideological leaders the Kamasati regarding the purported exploitation and interference of the Nyxians in the development of the Sonics. The Merchant Lord Domino had however approached UPT regarding a mutually beneficial exchange that could perhaps resolve not only the blooming conflict between Nyx and Kamasati but also resolve the long ongoing crisis within the Xaldarian Expanse caused by a lack of fresh minds to grow the Symbraum pantheon. A high ranking ambassador from Foreign Relations is set to be dispatched to Nyxian space following a confirmation from the Kamasati that they would find the Nyxians exchanging control of the Sonics to UPT in the year following establishment of formal diplomatic relations an acceptable compromise.

3 [PHILOSOPHY] Convert Demon's Fall (E27) from Open to Spiral Dancer Failure

To further facilitate a smooth transition from Demonic fodder to bastion of new gods Demon's Fall is set to be introduced to the tenets of the Spiral Dancer alongside the material supply of goods and services intended to alleviate their suffering. May the freed population of the region find purpose and dignity in voluntary service to a higher cause and force for good against the many demonic workings of Axiom.

4 [PHILOSOPHY] Convert the Tomb Worlds (E29) from Open to Spiral Dancer Failure

With the head of Transcendence Division directing the bulk of UPT resources the small but influential government department receives special attention and additional funding which allow the establishment of a permanent outpost in the Great Pyramid of Ra within the Tomb Worlds system. Fostering the sense of godhood among the necromancers was seen as an important step towards fully realizing the potential promised in the conceit of Symbraum as a pantheon worthy of inheriting the Caller's legacies.

5 [INTRIGUE] Establish the means to track and/or manipulate Efficiency Ground (1/2)

The Revolution had formed the bedrock to much of Brez Y'ett's campaign for appointment to stellar representative as a sign from the old gods of their power and a challenge to the inheritors of their legacy to prove themselves worthy of the Maturation in seeking out its source and harnessing it. Wishing to pursue this further a special team of Symbraum are commissioned to collate and sift through all relevant available information about the mysterious "Efficiency Ground" and its servants with an invitation put out to other Stellar Powers to voluntarily add their knowledge should they so desire. Publicly available recordings of the three figures Jester, Woe, and Wrath along with their energy readings at the time of dematerialization are analyzed and carefully deconstructed for any trace that could provide a direction to begin to hunt.

    6 [INTRIGUE] Secret 14

Not all that occurs within UPT is known to those who seek to listen in.

    ROLLS

    NON-ACTIONS
    • Endorse conversion of D30 from Open to Spiral Dancer
    • Endorse conversion of E27 from Open to Spiral Dancer
    • Endorse conversion of E29 from Open to Spiral Dancer
    • Endorse conversion of F30 from Open to Spiral Dancer

    [4/10 UNITS]
    Emergency Defense Force One
    Alien Mummy Drones
    Freedom Company Mercenaries
    Dreamdrinkers

    [GENERALS]

    [RUMORS]
    • A leading theory within Axiom was that Efficiency Ground was some manner of Caller AI similar in construction if not purpose to Guardian. This belief is framed within the Symbraum pantheon as the Callers having been advanced Demonologists who summoned or created the non-psychic minds of their AIs to act as stewards of their divine powers in their absence. While the use of Demons was seen as dangerous the Callers proved it was apparently possible to harness demonic forces to serve free minds. The Symbraum Pantheon was not yet prepared to risk the unshackling of a Demon even to use as a phylactery or guardian for their own awesome might but the idea of its possibility sparks interest in certain esoteric circles within UPT.
    • The Same threat was growing along the southern Core and revelations of its most ardent fighters having formerly sought to manipulate or control the demonic army prompts many within Protection Division to call for UPT to take a more active role in containment. Brez Y'ett unofficially endorses this position claiming the righteous pantheons of Axiom were duty bound to struggle against any and all demonic incursions but official action is slow to nonexistent in appearance. The truth was UPT was relatively far removed from the Core and lacked established relationships with any Maturated powers nearby to the leak. While there was a desire to exhibit support the Eye of the Horizon proved it was a mistake to simply throw force behind any who claimed to be fighting the Same lest one wind up inadvertently fueling the enemy.
    • The Revolution had imposed a vast distance between them but UPT still valued its positive relations with CBS built through hard work and open sharing of knowledge so when news arrives of not only their direct assault by the Antillian Brewers but the theft of the Library of Peace UPT had provisioned them with a formal condemnation is drafted and issued against both known and unknown entities for interfering in Conclave affairs. There was little more UPT could do but the new Viceroy does receive a nice gift of Symbraum trade goods and the political endorsement and support of the southern Spiral Dancer pantheon.
    • The addition of the Dreamer Pantheon has strengthened UPT resolve and abilities to project power but conflict has arisen between the enigmatic adherents to the Sheerest Reverie and the Spiral Dancer driven direction of Brez Y'ett. A number of meetings between the new Division Council end with a frustrated TD Head exclaiming the vast Dreamers were unreasonable in their devotion to the exploration of the multitude powers cosmic when what was needed was a unified directed effort to guide both spiritual and material discoveries.
    • The Melfynians are welcomed as neighbors via their expansion into sector G29 and politely requested not to cross into column F or further westward via either political or philosophical means. Should they accept a similar agreement on behalf of UPT would be extended regarding column G eastward excepting of course where the two stellar powers might be invited to become involved by another of their Maturated stellar neighbors.

    Organizations!
Expiration Dates close at the end of the round specified in their description:

    Sisterhood of Silence
    Spoiler
    Show

[Intrigue] Investigate the Destruction of Shimmering Light monastery - Clearly a change was needed. Yet another monastery has been attacked by a hostile Maturated Power. While the Sisterhood may soon become something wholly unresembling its previous self there was still a desire to find out who the mysterious actor was who apparently had no qualms about releasing the Same upon the galaxy. Regardless of what the Sisterhood became they intended to continue confronting the Same and anyone who would support, even indirectly, this grave threat needed to be known for the safety of Axiom itself.

[Diplomacy] Host the SoS Destiny Conference - Many of the low rank members of the Sisterhood had no idea about the origins of the Same drones the order had taught them to fight. The revelation that the One was responsible for this does disturb some while others find a resolve to atone for this past sin. The Sisterhood's vigil was breached in almost half of their original positions and multiple attacks had been both threatened and carried out against the order's monasteries. From this chaos fractures had appeared within the long united order and internal factions had arisen to challenge the current administration for leadership of the vast but diminishing network of wayward warriors and investigators that composed the order's numbers. The Mother Superior herself makes a rare appearance, albeit through hologram, as do the three leading contenders challenging her authority. Just what would come of all this was now in the hands of the Sisterhood's friends and allies.
    Spoiler
    Show

A formal vote is to be held by the SoS polling their current friends and allies to determine a future for the organization. Attendance is open to all, voting is restricted to those with allocated votes (see below) but a voting party need not spend an action to attend and vote but most note in their non-actions that they are attending.

The first round of voting will determine whether or not there is sufficient desire to see the SoS adopt a more militant stance and any Stellar Power with Reputation 1 or higher with the SoS will be allowed to participate with their Reputation representing their allocated number of votes. Additionally a Favor owed by the SoS can be converted into a single vote. The second round of voting will only occur if the first round passes that the SoS should adopt a more militant stance. Voting in the first round will close on Monday September 30th at 5 AM US Central Time.

The second round will determine what the Sisterhood’s other focus should be if they are elected to pursue a more militant stance. The same rules for votes will carry through to the second round of voting except any Favors spent in the first round will no longer be available to be converted into a vote. Voting in the second round will close in sync with the end of Round 8.

The results of this vote could affect not only the scores of the Sisterhood but the special actions available to them as well as the bonuses granted by reputation with the organization.

    The Factions

    • The Sisterhood of Silence - Phy/Int - The reigning Mother Superior believes perhaps it is time for the Sisterhood to change but if she finds the Maturated powers disagree she has no qualms maintaining the current order of things.
    • The Sisterhood of Silence - Phy/Mil - The current Mother Superior proposes a shift in footing for discussion by the Maturated to allow the Sisterhood to take a more active military role in defending and containing the Same in the Core. In her opinion it is imperative the order maintain a connection to its roots within the One as it was the ideological drive behind the creation of the Same and it is followers of the One's responsibility to clean up the mess. While some members wish to see the One abandoned as the cause for the current dysfunction in the order's secret keeping those who would object to this change are relatively small in number.
    • The Silent Sisters - Int/Mil - Abbess Dorith led Lighted Pathway monastery, the last unrevealed monastery in Axiom, and had made a bellicose appearance at the First Council of Aspirant Landing. While Dorith was aware of the secrets being kept by the Sisterhood she believed the order was correct to hide this information and believes the trouble came from other members of the order teasing this information and leaking intriguing scraps about the Core to the curious rather than stonewalling and punishing those who attempted to breach the Sisterhood's vigil. Dorith is the spearhead of a movement to alter the intelligence gathering side of the Sisterhood into an independent transnational intelligence agency with the means to carry out its own military operations to contain and otherwise hamper the Same. Many who are disillusioned with the Sisterhood's perceived ideological motivations and bias see Dorith's proposals as a reasonable and necessary response to the threat presented not only by the Same but the Eradicators and all other terroristic agents operating in Axiom. While it is expected a change in this direction would lose the most devout members many rank and file members were more trained in investigation and combat drills against the Same and such a change in command was unlikely to push them out of the order.
    • Core Patrol Corps - Dip/Mil - A more radical break from traditional Sisterhood activity the so-called "Core Patrol Corps" was a movement led by a small collective of veterans from patrols within the Core who viewed the Same as an existential threat but one that could, rather than being a shameful secret hidden by its prison guards, be cause for true unity in purpose among the Maturated races. While viewed favorably among those who wished to confront the Same by any means and with any allies this severe alteration of the original Sisterhood mission would likely cause more severe backlash among prominent members of the Sisterhood. What this might look like in full was unknown but the Corps' leadership expected a wave of desertion or retirements should they manage to seize power over the vigil. Rumor also had it the leaders of the Corps were eager to wipe away negative histories with those who engaged with the Same seeing this as a necessary and important next step to defeating the horde.
    • Core Containment Incorporated - Eco/Mil - Another radical deviation from the traditional values of the order the men and women down in the R&D department had never actually gotten to test any of their prototype ideas due to a lack of funding. Led by former(?) Sister Leelee Buildfast the small incorporation of scientists, engineers, and the specialist soldiers most familiar with field testing off the wall devices seek to make a hard break with the ideological promoting and intelligence gathering missions of the Sisterhood in order to dedicate themselves to the development of exciting new means to combat and contain the Same. While there is a great deal of excitement among many outside the Sisterhood over unleashing a technological pusher to help coordinate the Same's defeat internally the CCI is seen as utterly devoid of much that kept the Sisterhood united and it is expected choosing to alter the Sisterhood in this fundamental manner would lead to division within the existing ranks. Like the CPC the CCI also sought to wipe away much of the bad blood that existed between the Sisterhood and those who had sought knowledge regarding the Same "ahead of schedule" believing a dedication to uncovering knowledge and utilizing it was just what Axiom needed right now.

[Diplomacy] Request the Tezh Consensus build a Monastery - While a number of stellar powers had been indicted in the Data Breach fiasco there was a strong disbelief over the evidence which indicated the Tezh had any culpability given their attendance of the private conference which had revealed almost all the same information voluntarily. Given the Tezh headed the One in the modern age and the desire to promote better relations now despite it seeming the One might be abandoned by change in leadership and also given the number of monasteries lost to attacks and forced to leave the Core a request is put out to Talotius to provide the Sisterhood with a new base of operations outside their normal operating parameter. Request: TZH build a Base in one of their regions. Reward: +1 Reputation, +1 Favor. Expiration Date: Round 10

    Cosmic Couriers
    Spoiler
    Show

[Economy] Aid Axiom’s Greatest Drive-In Great Project in M21 (3/5) - While the Couriers themselves were beyond such petty concerns as consuming food for fuel, though they were capable of such energy conversion in the event of an emergency, it seemed the vast majority of Axiom’s populace were insistent on consuming plant or animal flesh to survive and reproduce. This meant investments in eateries were projected to maintain profitability for at least the next few thousand years until sufficient species had adopted more advanced modes of energy conversion. With projections like these it becomes clear to the Couriers that it was something worth looking into and they quickly realize that three food establishments stood head and shoulders above the rest: the Axiom’s Greatest Diner, Drive-In, and Dive. Each restaurant was known to have been visited by some hungering entity who had imparted great culinary knowledge upon the populace before mysteriously disappearing. From their Relay in Eye space the Couriers reach out to invest and gain a share of ownership in Axiom’s Greatest Drive-In, a popular nearby tourist destination. A formal investment portfolio, DDD Investments or ‘Triple D’ Investments, is set up to manage these new businesses being brought under Courier ownership. Initial startup costs however were quite hefty and internal reports reveal the Couriers were searching for investors willing to spend on their behalf.

[Diplomacy] Mediate Relations between EHZ and KNV - The Eyes of the Horizon, rebranding as Wardens at World's End, have been decent partners to the Couriers in business matters and when their request for additional Courier assistance growing relations with other stellar powers is received there is a desire to see it done quickly. However, a current large looming debt prompts slower actioning of this request but eventually it manages to pass muster with the Couriers internal review board and diplomats are authorized to carry out the request. "Space King" Jacques DeLeon receives an envoy bearing the seal of the Wardens and work is put in to connect the two Core-adjacent powers to facilitate easier means of communication between them. The current Speaker of the Eye is reminded their debt to the Couriers was now quite sizable and would take serious efforts to clear, either by proactive repayment or a large favor to be called in by the Couriers sometime down the road. EHZ goes 2 more Favors into debt with CmC and loses 1 Rep

[Diplomacy] Call in Favors from EAA, ETH, and LYR to invest in DDD - When the head Courier of Relay 03 suggests tapping the Proxos debtors for funds he is hailed as a visionary. Swiftly missives are sent to the Eternal Assembly of Alysia, the Etherites, and the Lyraens petitioning the stellar powers for funding for DDD Investments in exchange for loan forgiveness on their favors owed. Request: EAA, ETH, and/or LYR may spend 2 Economy/Diplomacy actions each contributing to one of the three DDD investment opportunities to clear their Favor debt to the Couriers. DDD Investments: Axiom’s Greatest Diner 1/5 (F8), Axiom’s Greatest Drive-In 3/5 (M21), Axiom’s Greatest Dive 2/5 (W15). Reward: Clear current 1 Favor debt to CmC. Expiration Date: Round 10 or until all three projects are complete

    An’Null’s Eradicators
    Spoiler
    Show

[Intrigue] Investigate the theft of the Library of Truth - Perhaps the Eradicators shouldn't have been surprised their prize was stolen before it could be awarded but given the level of protection available to Eradicator secrets it was clear some stellar power with significant intelligence gathering capabilities had pulled off this theft. The Commonwealth itself along with the Church of Iteus, Kryptids, and Melfynians are among the chief suspects given their rumored espionage capabilities. However, rather than taking a scattergun approach to retribution the Shadow Admiral elects to hunt down any leads to point the Eradicator's cannons in the right direction. If the investigation failed to reveal anything useful than the most likely suspects could be made to pay regardless but perhaps an investigation now would save on expenditures for revenge later.

[Military] Offer EAA 2 Units of Eradicators - A transmission from north of the Alysian-held sector of R4 claims to represent Commodore Desolatē of the Eradicators and an offer is extended to the Eternal Assembly for reinforcements to aid them in "securing their new place in the galaxy." Given the recent transmissions between Alysia and the Union to their east the Commodore seems to hope enough tension existed for troops to be seen as a valuable commodity. (Request: Accept 2 Units of ANE mercenaries. Reward: +1 Favor owed to ANE. Expiration Date: Round 9)

On that subject the Empire notes that U19 is considered a Duenem territory and attempts by SYN to take the region may be construed as hostile if undertaken without Duenem agreement.

    1. [Military] WAR Liberate Huvile & Truffoplis (T8) with 3 Units under General Secretary Jerry Gates (Mil 5) using Mass Wave Tactical Doctrine - The Drax have demonstrated their danger to the signatories of the Hallion Accords ejecting civilized governance from sectors T8 and T12 as well as decimating trade and security within the Dominion. The newly empowered General Secretary is swift to respond wishing to stomp out the threat of further Drax attacks against unaligned or claimed regions through the elimination of the Draaxeri Claw which had taken up residence in the space between Huville and Truffopolis. The Superterran attack fleet, or what remained of it, would be met by the newly returned Princess Task Force back from its long tour of duty in Droccen space alongside the retrofitted weapons platforms that had originally defended the occupied region. A new force is also added to the mix, a collective of mind-linked psychics from the Gestalt whose mental abilities allowed them to shed a great deal of mechanical weaponry in favor of mind probing and manipulating the opposition against itself.
    2. [Military 5] Appoint Commissar Debra Holt as a Mil 7 General - Eager to see the glory of the Red Fleet bolstered as it had been promised to under the former Chairman Vaou only to be left to languish under Chairman Tats the General Secretary appoints an ideologically devout militarist to the position of Commissar, a military-political position tasked with not only leading men and women on the battlefield but instructing them off the battlefield in the ideals enshrined by socialist doctrine. Sacrifice of one for the many would be emphasized among the ranks until each and every soldier in the field was ready to give their life for those of their comrades both on the field and back home.
    3. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Red Fleet Support Ships - Old cargo haulers are turned into makeshift repair bays, courier vessels are outfitted with small arms to support small defensive engagements, and research vessels are gutted and re-purposed to act as floating hospital ships. While there was hope the Draax could be defeated now with the small complement of forces available there was a clear need to prepare for future engagements either with the Draax or with other hostile powers who might be flung into the SPR's backyard.
    4. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Red Fleet Marines - Well fed with a mix of grown food alongside their Manipulator created rations thousands of young men and women are inducted into the first fully offplanet marine battalion. The marines will remain attached to a fleet acting as internal security and tactical commanders and soldiers for any planetside or boarding activity. Drilled into a decisive force loyalty within a squadron and between squadron and hosting ship is a bond not easily broken.
    5. [Economy] Buyout S9 Boreal Metal TP 1 TN: 12 Roll: 7 - Attempts by the new Borealis People's Republic to establish government control over a portion of the region's mineral extraction does not fare well. The profits being generated by the Etherite mines on the Outer Rims attracts the majority of labor away from this municipal public works and the milquetoast incentives agreed to by local committees are met with lukewarm engagement. Provisioned housing was nice but the measly MR ration cards and poor incentive structure for increased labor hours simply cannot compete with the array of goods and services available on mining platforms in the Outer Rim to those willing to accept Etherite scrip. An overhaul is proposed to the current offer in the coming years but for now Inner Rim Boreal Metal deposits remain untapped by their Union protectors.
    6. [Economy] Buyout T4 Mindcasters TP 1 TN: 12 Roll: 16 - Outside the Union's demesne however the significant political clout proves to have a value all its own and the enlightenment-seeking Mindcasters of sector T4 are eager to gain a greater understanding and have more opportunity to grow their psychic powers in service to Union interests. Removed from any other power competing over their service the Mindcasters are quickly integrated into the civilian and military populations of Union. A few curious scientists and psychologists have even begun looking into the esper classifications of the Gelean Republic as well as researching the extensive psionic studies done by the Kamasati hopeful to gain some insight into the curious case of mental powers. These studies equally extend into R8 where studies of the gestalt consciousness occupying the region were already well underway.

    • The Alysians are firmly informed that "orbital bombardment" was not and would never be an option on the table regarding Union-held planetary bodies. Already the economic sanctions enacted against Union trade of that most precious resource, methane fuel, was causing certain corners in the politboro to agitate for a military response. Any attempt to carry out orbital bombardment for whatever perceived ecological reason would be met with forceful resistance. There was however a desire to maintain the peace long enjoyed by the Union barring the Draax Attacks and a proposal is introduced to be reviewed by the Alysian Assembly of Union investment in the Energy Crystal Mines of R4 as a "clean" replacement energy source for the lost methane. If this proved acceptable Union resources could be directed into this venture as soon as the upcoming year but this was as great a concession as the Union was willing to make with the ecofascistic Alysians.
    • Doctor David Stradford's numerous requests for admittance into the Union are at last reviewed by the notoriously slow moving bureaucracy of the Union and the curious xenoanthropologist is granted a research visa permitting access to Union systems. While the news regarding Celenian expansion was not kindly looked on in Union operated press the intellectual curiosity of Dr. Stradford and his work done on researching a common origin to the humans of Axiom was admirable and it was unwise and unkind to attribute a national character to an individual sight unseen. Still, should the good Dr. be an observant sort it would quickly become obvious his activities were being closely monitored by the state lest he attempt to promote xenophobic or otherwise intolerable attitudes among Union citizens.
    • A prominent Union theorist and prolific writer Akim Corby Huron pens a scathing critique of the Alysian ecological theories deriding their outlook disconnecting intelligent life's Second Nature from First Nature and idolizing First Nature as a primitive ideal as reactionary drivel. According to Huron mankind, or alienkind as the case may be, were animals evolved from the so-called "pristine garden" of First Nature and endowed by evolutionary preference with capacity for rationality and ethical thought. This capacity was not in opposition to First Nature but rather a result of it and granted the capacity for integrating and cooperating with the unendowed plants and animals of the universe through rational application of ecological principles. Retreating from one's homeworld to artificial and sterilized habitats and allowing First Nature irrational and unchecked domination was to reject one's role and responsibility as a rational actor capable of managing and guiding the natural world as good stewards endowed by "nature" with the means to integrate and care for it.
    • The General Secretary dispatches a small compliment of Red Fleet Marines to Rocthurhi space to reenforce the protection of Princess Mika Ren, daughter of Vaou Ren and Empress Sai. The General Secretary was known to harbor a father-son like relationship with the retired SPR Chairman and as such viewed the young princess as something akin to a younger sister and the Draax threat was cause for concern about the young girl's safety. It was expected once her tour of Rocthurhi space was complete she would attend Union secondary school as well as being afforded special opportunities befitting her status as an important foreign dignitary.

    Melfynus
    Rundhrul of the Ofgryl Cluster

    Actions:
    1. [Dip]Attend Sisterhood Meeting
    2. [Dip]Press claim on I29
Hoping the OwO hubs did their job of exposing the Merfolk to the wider galaxy, diplomatic clusters were sent to the nearby region and slowly worked towards meeting the leaders of he various factions as the bribes gifts; the Melfynians could not deny there was some importance to determining the status of the Mandarake shells and perhaps with the assistance and resources of the Melfynians and OwO such a task would be accomplished satisfactorily, they did their best to remind the Merfolk that all of them, the Melfynians being no exception, are but small fish in the larger ocean and ought come together lest they be devoured by the bigger threats- and they didn't even mean the Same.
    3. [Dip]Press claim on J30
Despite conditions which prevented the aquatics from sending any representative clusters, the Melfynians have been using the OwO to communicate with the oligarchy. With some maneuvering, an invite was extended to their representatives to instead come to Melfynus to see for themselves what the aquatics would be able to offer them in their region's entry into greater Axiom. Hopefully interpreting the new additions into the OwO correctly, the Melfynians have erected their own climate controlled dome with much lights which may satisfactorily house their anticipated diplomats in further negotiations.
    4. [Dip]Raise rep with ANE
Finding the stance of the Sisterhood in securing their own interests and internal politics tiresome despite their assertions their organization is in it for the good of all Axiom, the Melfynians decided to continue establishing better relations with the only other group with some proper goal they are working towards- even if they are pirates reviled by the rest of the galaxy.

    Spoiler: News and Rumours

    • Contrary to expectations, the Melfynians agreed to the UPT's request as they, alongside another Dreamer, were instrumental in solving Melfynus' biggest problem. In order to strengthen relations developed through the effort, the Melfynians further offered both should be able to recognize the interests of the other; political, philosophical or whatever else that neither should actively work against the other and, to leave it open to mutual support on occasion. For the latter, the Melfynians offered their assistance in the UPT's campaign against the Efficiency Ground- the group evidently trouble to all Matured.
    • While the Revolution had its issues, it was no match to the connections the Melfynians made with their fellows. Some thought it foolish the Melfynians and the Mier Formicans established an embassy when they were already so close; post Revolution proved it was a good move as despite them now being so far apart, it allowed the aquatics to pass over some much needed technological support to their ally as well as come under their umbrella- no doubt due to the Mier's significant assistance to the Melfynians in the galactic arena of Axiom which the latter is rather thankful for. No doubt one of the reasons why the Melfynians have continued to send out representatives to their neighbours even as far as to Zara (while brokering some deal) to learn from the other peoples of Axiom- save some exceptions whom have failed to live up to certain promises.
    • Not even the other Matured of far away are overlooked by the Melfynians. While the idea was touched upon briefly when their representatives met at some Sisterhood meeting (the Melfynian representative being one of their new Bee friends who needed the exposure to the wider galaxy they found themselves in); the Melfynians were able to broker a deal with the Kronin for technology and the militant's specialty whether in manpower or, logistics for a future project whereas the Rothuun secured the services of the Melfynian's new general (who could probably use the experience dealing with other species) for more technology and some of the minotaurs finest bodies which are already famed throughout Axiom which he hopes to bring back with him after a successful campaign.[
    • As the Serpent stirs, ripples can be witnessed on the surface of Melfynus as evidence to its acts of violence during periods it is unable to control itself. However during times of its calm, strange ramblings could be heard from it of the history of Melfynus and then some. Maintaining their efforts of observations, the Melfynians have also added to it the recording and interpretation of these ramblings to try and make sense of them so they may ascertain if it is indeed knowledge from the Serpent and their predecessors or perhaps, some unintended side effect from the assistance of the Melfynian's fellow Matured.

[Diplomacy] Due to intense negotiations by the church of Rust and incredibly lucrative offer by the FCO coupled with a massive fleet coming in from the Dipanan Collected Nations, the caliphate seeing the Casrule movement as strong as it was despite losing to the one high maxim they agree to joining the democratic arm of the movement. Their entire fleet, their planet and their technology will be handed over to the democratic arm of the Casrule movement.

Current offer on the table: The caliphate surrender to the Casrule movement in exchange for the FCO building an embassy, give Salvage Technicians to the democratic forces and give their first technology created to the movement. In return once a democraticaly elected congress is put in place the AI that rules alongside the Caliph will be given a full advisory role on all matters. The Caliph must run for congress just like everyone else but his record is expunged and he will not be placed on trial for any war crimes. [Diplomacy] Peace AgreementThe Royalists and the democrats sit down in formal discussions hoping to end civil war by joining forces, ideas like equality of the various races is promoted and pushed. The Do hive are promised full equality and the ability to run for office, all past crimes of war committed due to racial violence will be put behind them for the good of the Kryptids...

This situation is very precarious should anything go wrong here more civil war could follow however if the two sides of the Casrule are not interefered with peace may finally reach their nation. The anarchs are not organized enough to strike at this well fortified event without aid.

[Military] Raise 1 unit Second Equal Gar and First Equal Somos fearing the democrats have gained too many advantages raise troops in a desperate bid to ensure their own ideals are met.

[Military] Raise 1 unit First Equal Kask appears to be a savvy operator and already expects the weakened anarchs to make a final desperate play. He bolsters his forces and gets ready to fight one more battle to ensure democracy and health for his people.

[Military] Final Push All remaining Caliphate and Casrule troops alongside the two generals invade both sectors belonging to the one high maxim, with no allies remaining and no combat ready ships their few remaining defenses are crushed.

THE ONE HIGH MAXIM leader Lord Caller Siq flees for Vilari space presuming their kind hearted nature will ensure they are not executed, over 1000 true believers of the ONE go with him however noble general that he is the leader of the one high maxim military Crusader Bacop remains in the capital building to fight off enemy forces, where he dies when the buildings are struck by aerial bombardment.

If the Vilari do not provide aid to Lord Caller Siq the Caliphate unit that now serves the democratic forces is chasing them down and have been ordered to destroy all ships and all escape pods. If they are allowed in Vilari space the Kryptids will not pursue.

    Wardens of World’s End
    Chief Deputy Warden Antich Heaventreader

    Actions:

[DIPLO] [SPECIAL 10]: Become a Galactic Power! The Warden’s of World’s End
The Council of the Eye of the Horizon convenes for a grand question. The Same can be defeated. They can be crushed. But at what cost? This estimate must be weighed in the blood of Sparks and the tears of civilization. It is a price that must be paid. A paradigm shift is set forth by the newly appointed representative of Metropolitonia, a task force within the Eye of the Horizon to oversee and work alongside the Core Patrol (now bolstered with foreign aid), and work to counter and contain the Same threat. Each representative votes unanimously in the setting of this new modus operandi and soon they dispense the Voice of the Council to deliver the verdict. Traveling to Vilari space after hearing of their new righteous neighbors call for a united League for the galaxy Antich Heaventreader speaks briefly there in the hopes of combining their efforts with such a cause. He reveals that he has been stripped of the rank of Voice of the Council and has instead been appointed as a Deputy; A Chief Deputy Warden to serve at the leisure of the people. “Gone is the Eye,” he remarks solemnly “Now we stand our watch and keep our vigil. Prepare our minds and hone our spirits for the greatest terror of all. We are the Warden’s of World’s End and we shall guard the galaxy from extinction.”

    [PHI]: Convert Jotunheim (P24) SUCCESS!
Master Pil Kun Jiin, a convert from Dynastinarea travels further away from the Source to Celes space to observe the workings of their newly claimed system. Awe struck by the great machinations of Jotunheim he quickly sets about wandering its many pipes and bowels collecting Jotun along the way. Their inability to spread secrets make them a coveted Spark for the Master of Shadow.

    [PHI]: Convert Katarsa (M27) FAIL
Seeking refuge from the brutal blow of Core war some members of Core Patrol seek solace in the amenities of the Dipanan Collected Nations. Their stirred orrery is mostly limited to passing passions and those Sparks present leave little more than a feeling of cultural oddity for the various locales they are hosted by.

[INT]: Investigate the salvage of the Same 10
Freshly from the scars of War the Core Patrol sets forth ripping and tearing through the rubble and wreckage of all the Same destroyed. The process is slow going but with the help of the Squall the Core Patrol quickly atleast contains the samples the Master’s deem salvageable enough. Syndrome scientists are briefly tapped in the evaluation of the wreckage and the Warden’s see what possible technology could be recovered from this atrocious incident.

[INT]: Help Construct the Incandescent Eye in The Emjata system (L20) (5/5)
Newly anointed in their task of preserving the galaxtic community in the face of Same obliteration the Warden’s soon dispatch a coterie of Masters of Flame accompanied by Jackstar Mercenaries. Feverishly and with great care the Master’s prepare schematics and provide countermeasures for Same repelling based off of their intensely destructive battle in Cricentondin. Jackstar Mercenaries provide less esoterically religious modifications for reconnaissance but mostly adjust the aesthetics of the operation to peak combat efficiency.

    Round 8
    The Guild Enterprises of Nyx
    Vassal to the Gelean Empire

    Nyx (Sector C23)
    Domino Ophelo, Lord of Coin

    Actions
    1. [Economy 10] Declare the Guild Enterprises of Nyx a Merchant Power - It was good to be king. While the Formican queens may have claimed the largest tracts of space and the members of the Uplift Chorus may have orchestrated the most influential ideology in Axiom it was Nyx and Nyx alone who were the richest stellar power in the galaxy. Lord Domino individually stood proudly above his fellow Nyxians as the single richest individual in all of Axiom, a tidy title to hang one’s hat on. Drugs, mercenaries, exotic pets, goods and services in all shapes and sizes poured into Nyx making it wealthy beyond compare. Free trade had fostered a booming economy where access to not merely necessities but the commodities that made life worth living were available on every street corner, at every space station, and advertised on every open piece of building or vehicle unable to afford a “non-advertising surface” license. In other words, paradise for the affluent Nyxians who owned and operated the many galactic industries fueling this endless growth.
    2. [Economy] Bid on the Broker's Mysterious Artifact 32 - What good was being the richest species in the galaxy if you didn't make sure everyone knew you were? After a series of OMS exchanges with interested parties Lord Domino is at last convinced (that is to say sufficiently bribed) to delay further military buildup and place a bid on the Broker’s Mysterious Artifact. While Lord Domino was personally occupied with a military annexation he sends his youngest son, Uno Ophelo, to represent him and the family at the auction.
    3. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Grymlan Farseeker Gearheads - While the majority of Farseeker Corps Grymlans were employed in engineering positions within the Nyxian cities, space stations, and luxury cruise ships fixing and maintaining the various technological wonders that kept the Nyxians living in comfort a selection of the immigrant laborers had more radical designs they wished to experiment with. After one too many “experiments” in civilian spaces results in serious property damage and hefty legal costs the Grymlans are offered an alternative employment opportunity. The Farseeker Gearheads are organized to act as weaponsmiths, prototypers, and military engineers to support and enhance a more traditional military force. Already the Gearheads have produced a number of experimental ship designs that are expected to be deployed in the upcoming years.
    4. [Military] Invade D24 with 3 Units under Lord Domino (8) - War was messy business but it was a business nonetheless. The nearby sector of D24 had been explored by the Harmony years ago revealing a region occupied by three-eyed humanoid adherents to a philosophy not dissimilar to that of the warrior Kronin. In all that time the natives had not received much in the way of directives on what their major productive enterprises should be meaning the region had suffered from a lack of interstellar commerce, practically a sin in the eyes of the Nyxians. While Lord Domino was not eager to risk his life on the field of battle he had learned much of tactics and warfare from the Gelean Emperor in the time before his meteoric rise and sought to utilize this tactical understanding to avoid direct danger in the annexation of this region. As to how the Nyxians wished to direct local productive forces? This was kept closely under wraps, likely due to the possibility of upsetting a pre-existing monopoly.
    5. [Diplomacy] Attend SoS Destiny Conference - The Guilds didn't much care about the Sisterhood or their ultimate fate but they did care about making deals. As a follow on to the bid made with the Broker a Merchant Governor of a large Nyxian moon colony is sent through the Simulacrum’s lightdoor to make contact with a representative from Celestia Enterprises to receive blueprints of many of the latest Axiom innovations as well as sign a contract regarding the exchange of whatever mysterious boon was purchased from the Broker to the Celestian corporation for further technological advances to be exchanged in the upcoming years.
      Spoiler
      Show
      • Accept CLS down payment of Long Range Ads, Galactic Currency, and War Beasts for the Nyx bid on the Broker’s Artifact

    Non-Actions
    1. Endorse OwO Buyout of Nyx (K5) Voidstone TP3
    2. Permit the Lopurna refugees to settle in Nyxian space assuming that they continue to provide value. Preliminary surveys are being conducted to find a suitable unclaimed habitat for the refugees to reside in. It is quickly realized legitimate Nyxian claims existed on all the hospitable worlds and moons in the Nyx home sector and a new space station would necessitate being built to provide permanent residency to the Lopurna.

    • The Kombuch assault on Lyraen Marching Powder merchants has Nyxian merchants in the sector nervous about their business dealings. It appeared the Kombuch held a puritanical and economically interventionist view regarding trade in their territory, an intolerable viewpoint in the eyes of the hedonistic free trade obsessed Nyxians. A number of prominent merchants in the Cyreilian Expanse approach the Aeternal Emperor with their concerns over Kombuch interventionism citing the Nyxian's warnings towards the Kamasati as applicable and perhaps more prescient in regards to the mushrooms. Certainly Xavier would not tolerate his longtime friends and sponsors to the role of Emperor to be assaulted in the street for conducting legitimate business legally acquired through voluntary exchange. Should the Kombuch attempt a raid upon Nyxian interests it would be seen as a violation of the Cacola Conference Treaty section one line two and as such be treated as an act of war.

The Conclave of the Black Sun
His Excellency, Saldizan Rey-Zansharak, Viceroy of Amanyk

    Actions:
    Rolls.
1: [Diplomacy] Press claim on I5. Success.
Now that the groundwork has been laid, the more complicated task of integrating the distant lost colony can begin. Though so are concerned about the difficulties that may arise from a discontinuous realm, many feel that the Kombuch are solid and firm friends and there will be little issue in that area.
In addition to the usual diplomats and bureaucrats and royal descendants, a number of scientists intrigued by the genetic experiments of this distant world make their way there to confer with local experts.

2: [Diplomacy] Work on Axiom's Greatest Diner. [2/5]
Though the chefs working on the diner's vast and all encompassing menu have an almost religious fanaticism about the culinary arts, their true desire is fostering a sense of galactic togetherness through the shared experience of food. To this noble, and delicious, end the Conclave has committed considerable funding towards the acquisition of rare ingredients and exotic cookware even as work on the Diner itself gets going.
It is hoped by all that Antillian spirits will be served there soon.

3: [Military] Meet the Antillians in battle with five units to protect Amanyk from their attack.
The news of the Antillians declaration of hostile intent is met with outrage by the Conclave and the peoples of Amanyk. Members of the Conclave, Viceroy included, give numerous rousing speeches before the fleet moves to intercept the Antillians. Command is given to Admiral Jazcandris Solviran who leads the fleet aboard the Sword of the Conclave. Accompanying it are the battlecruisers the Jade Spear of Zalan, the Advocate and the newly launched Defender of Peace, as well as their smaller escorts and a wing of advanced precision fighters from Zataris. The hopes and dreams of the Tal-Amanyk go with them for the misplaced vengeance of the Antillians raises memories of a time many hoped would be confined to the past.

    4: [Military] Raise one unit.
The manufactories and shipyards of the Zataris Cluster roar into life as war comes to the Conclave. Though the fighters produced therein are hardly the mighty ships of war produced at Amanyk, their manoeuvrability makes them an asset to any armada.

5: [Intrigue] Investigate the theft of the Library of Peace.
Though no one was permanently harmed and no other treasures were stolen, the theft of the Library of Peace enrages the Conclave almost as much as any attack or declaration of war. The Inquisition is likewise deeply offended by this affront and without even waiting for the Conclave to draft a denunciation they begin their investigation. The Library of Peace and the Library of Truth would be recovered and restored to their rightful places in the Treasury for the glory of the Undying Sovereign!

6: [Intrigue] Secret. The halls of the Assembly are labyrinthine, much happens in the shadows.

    Spoiler: News and Rumours
    Show
The war has been blamed on the extravagant scarves, but only by people who hate them and want the fashion to end.

More seriously, the Viceroy has been called before the Inquisition and a full session of the Grand Courts to explain in excruciating detail just what happened to cause the Antillians to attack. Depending on the outcome of the current crisis his tenure may not last long, even if the Antillians are defeated.

The Perinye System (K5) is abuzz with activity. The ring world is shifting, restructuring itself, and the Harmony have recalled almost all of their ships to the home system, with the ever-present humming and angelic singing of their ring and ships growing deafeningly loud.

After the Kombuch invasion of J6, the Harmony are on the defensive, but are surprisingly uncaring about the recent attack. All Harmony across space are preparing for something. Signals of peace are beamed to the Kombuch in the hopes of stemming their invasion before more lives are lost on either side. The Harmony make it exceptionally clear that they will defend themselves should the Kombuch continue their advance, but theirs is a mission of peace, not conflict.

Natascha, former CEO of CLS, was locked in a talk with Zero-Souls-on-Cosmic-Winds for eight hours while the Harmony presented their case, and their grand plan for uniting the galaxy under a peaceful banner. Natascha however is a much more practical woman. Her completely hardened mind served her well climbing the corporate ladder, and the Harmony were eager to listen to her ideas. She suggested a more expansionist resolve. A willingness to conquer lands unclaimed by major galactic powers, and to establish a platform from which all may hear the Choir. The Choir agreed. The true will behind the Harmony ordered Zero-Souls to lead his fleets northward to their likely demise, as the rings spun once more, and a new leader took center stage...

Before leaving on his expedition, Zero-Souls listened to the SoS's plight, and put in his votes for the Sisters to devote their time to patrolling and policing the core, under the assumption that their findings and actions would be public record, and the Harmony would be able to tell if any information regarding the Callers was unearthed by their patrols.

The Caller ring's sudden activity startled many of the Harmony's closest non-harmonized neighbors, but their reclusiveness stayed the hand of many, awaiting further developments before making any hasty advances or retreats from Harmony space.

The Church of Iteus, Round Eight
    Pontiff Altea Pontiff Malicha

    Actions
    1. [Philosophy][Phi10] Ex-Pontiff Altea has had an epiphany. Beings like Efficiency Ground are powerful enough within this plane to reorganize the cosmos on a whim, without a need to escape the cosmic ocean. The path to ascension is not in escaping the ocean of reality, but in becoming its currents. The side effects, however, are greatly taxing…
Organize the philosophy of Iteusism; 5-center-bonus: +1 to resist secret actions)
Spoiler: The Ascension (this is not public knowledge IC)
      Show
As the months go by the Pontiff begins to make far fewer public appearances, confining herself to the undercroft of the Cathedral. By the time she ceases to emerge at all, her few visitors speak of disturbing news: her skin has gone a stark white, constantly oozing slime as her body involuntarily contorts as if she has become fully invertebrate.

These rumors, and others, prove far worse when Archdeacon Taltha comes to visit. The description of Altea as residing in the undercroft is generous; the path lies through a veritable labyrinth of maintenance tunnels, storage rooms, abandoned research halls, ans barely-excavated caves. It takes nearly ten minutes for Taltha to make it to Altea, even knowing the various shortcuts and hidden passages by heart, and what he finds nearly makes him vomit.

The cavern is nearly as spacious as an Armando-class’ hangar bay, mined out and abandoned as Church operations began to refocus on the cosmos, with a small, shallow lake of sewage overflow in the middle. It is in the middle of this pool that Altea lies, facedown, sobbing into her ruined eye-covering with her robes in tatters around her. From her back sprout prehensile tendrils of rubbery flesh, writhing in pain amidst the damp air. One arm, elongated and shaking, desperately clutches the facial covering over her eyes, while the other has become a tentacle splayed out in the puddle of filth. Both of her legs have become like slug tails, twitching helplessly, while her entire body has turned a putrid white and gushes mucus.

Taltha nearly drops the bag he came to deliver, overcome with the urge to flee to the ocean in terror, but fights the corruption of the parasites to obey his Pontiff’s final wishes. “P-Pontiff, they found it…” The scream that comes out from Altea is completely bereft of humanity, a high-pitched cry like a whale’s that echoes off of the cavern and nearly deafens Taltha. “P-Pontiff, please, c-can you hear me?” In response the tentacle-that-was-once-an-arm lashes out and flings the mixture of sewage and slime around the room, while Altea just continues to sob.

Cautiously, Taltha wades into the fluid, removing the small luminous cube from its bag and clutching it tightly as he approaches Altea’s head. Once well-kept under her hat, her hair has nearly fallen out, what little remains clinging to the rubber of her scalp like barnacles on a ship’s hull. He reaches out with the cube, trying not to come closer to the wreck that the Pontiff has become. “Pontiff, it’s me, Taltha, I have-”

Again the scream echoes through the cavern, the unready Archdeacon startled into falling into the muck. He doesn’t even notice how ruined his garb has become as he edges closer, taking the wrist holding the covering firmly in front of the Pontiff’s face and easing it away. “Look, Pontiff, they succeeded…” When he sees her face he drops the cube, recoiling in sheer terror. The ocean grips at his mind, the calling of Father Iteus, all will be safe if he joins his siblings…

“...Taltha…” The voice is weak, emanating from the mound of bloody flesh under split flaps of skin that Altea’s face has become, but it is enough to bring the Archdeacon’s mind back from the brink. “...Thank...You…” The wretched arm takes up the cube, its innate light reflecting off of the sheen of Altea’s new skin and giving the cavern a faint yellow glow. Taltha scurries backwards through the slush, ready to leave, but the sudden lack of sobbing compels him to stay in place.

For the next hour he watches Altea’s form engorge and contort into its new shape, the pool of slime, sewage, and now blood rising up ever further around him. Sitting completely transfixed as he is, he eventually becomes submerged, but not before witnessing the end result of all of his Pontiff’s efforts: a true heir of Iteus’ power. It is not the worst place to drown.
    2. [Philosophy][Phi5] Hoping to strengthen his ability to be voted Pontiff in the wake of Altea’s abdication, Archdeacon Caranus has set out for Rothuun space to address both the Same and our ally’s lack of religious unity. After establishing a significant Church presence he sets out to encounter the Same for himself. He has not yet returned. (Spread knowledge to P18; Initial Roll: 11; SUCCESS BUT NO ADDITIONAL STUFF)
    3. [Philosophy] Among the Church members working in the Syndrome the Church’s domestic disarray holds little effect on their duties. As such, they continue in their mission of achieving religious unity in the Church’s closest (distance-wise) ally. (Convert T18 to Iteusism; Roll: 14; SUCCESS)

    News and Rumors
    • The Pontiff has abdicated, it is time for the Archdeacons to convene and select a new Pontiff.
    • The natural choice, Taltha, has been confirmed dead. This complicates the election somewhat, as most other archdeacons have not accomplished anything of note. Malicha is eventually voted as Pontiff, but only due to venturing into the catacombs to commune with Altea.
    • Amidst the chaos of the Pontiff’s succession the Church’s security has been thrown into disarray dealing with various internal plots. Altea’s beloved internal secrecy has been torn to shreds as information leaks occur constantly.
    • Many of these leaks, however, are conflicting, with such a high amount of information that none of the countries of Itea can act on any of it. As soon as something damning crops up, something else crops up making that damnation impossible to have happened. However, one common thread runs through it all: there is far more to Iteus and the knowledge parasites than the Church has let on.

    The Worlds of Lyrae
Current Ruler: The Ascended One, Rii Lyrae

    Actions:
    1. [Military 10 Special] Lyraen Elemental Implants
The Lyraens have a long tradition of 'magic', or at least that's what they call it. However, until recently, it has been impractical on anything but a grand scale. No single Lyraen, save for Lyrae herself, is powerful enough to summon storms, wield fire, or any other combat-useful feat. However, by storing the power required for such feats in specialized crystals, which are then implanted in the body, the Lyraen Sunstormers can channel the elemental energies of the universe in limited ways.
Currently, these implants only allow for the manipulation of one of the four states of matter: solid, liquid, gas, or plasma (historically called Earth, Water, Air, and Fire). However, further applications of this principle are already in the works.

+1 to Mil rolls, goes in the Personnel Equipment slot, requires an Arcana resource.
    2. [Diplomacy] Attend the SOS event.
Though they remained in the background, Tra Gutri did attend the event in the hopes of gaining a few secrets in exchange for the new tech the Lyraens have been developing. He is quoted to have said, "Since someone's going to steal it anyway, we might as well see what we can get for it first."
      - Traded Lyraen Crystal Implants with the Melfynians for Enhanced Microplating and Trade League
    3. [Diplomacy] Start an ad campaign for the Couriers [1/2]
In fulfillment of their debt to the Couriers, Ool Vulk takes his experience in selling his own books (written about his many exploits) and turns it towards supporting the Courier's projects.
    4. [Economy] Buyout the Unowned TP 1 of Flowers in the Reed Region (Failure) (U27)
The Reed King is still a little miffed at the Lyraens for marching in and taking over. Though he doesn't directly block their efforts, he does interfere to ensure favorable conditions for his people. The negotiations drag on.
    5. [Economy] Buyout TP 1 in the Glory Star System (T26)
Now that the administrative issues are ironed out, the Lyraens have set up an extraction company whose sole purpose is to provide a steady stream of Iridium to the homeworld for processing and use in construction projects.

    Round Nine... Loading...
The below happens between Galactic Dates 217514.0.0.81 - 2175016.0.0.80
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
    Good luck!
    Rules Alerts and Changes!
    • Secret Action Raids in Owned Regions will remain secret. While it becomes apparent that a raid did occur, the new owner of the TP does not get revealed without being looked into.
    • Embassies do not allow Stabilizing as an Action or Non-Action between the parties.
    • Setting organized ideology bonuses is one action per bonus. When Organizing an Ideology, the Organizer can establish the 5 Learning Center bonus as part of the Special Action, but 10 LC bonuses and higher must be separate actions. Those separate actions may be taken on the same turn as Organizing the Ideology, but the Ideology must qualify for those bonuses.
    • Updating Occupation Rules: The GM Team is still discussing this matter. We acknowledge that the current Occupation rules may not work with the current gameplay, and are reviewing options to see if we can find a balance that functions better. Your voices have been heard, however!
    • As a Liege, you may send your units to a Vassal’s territory without distance losses. Their ZoI for Adjacent and Close count as your ZoI for Adjacent and Close. This ruling is made with the idea in mind that Zone of Influence is still a relatively new mechanic for Empire! and has not been fully tested to see if it is or isn’t balanced.
    • Regarding trades between players during the same round they are received… The GM Team was initially conflicted about this. The Head GM gave a ruling for the round prior that isn’t against the rules as written, but does seem to be against the spirit of the understood rules. To honor the ruling that the Head GM gave, any trades that occurred during Round 8 that were received during the same round as the technology was created will proceed, assuming (a) all parties - including the tech’s creator - are accepting of the trade and (b) all parties are at the same event. Moving forward, however, Trades of technologies during the same round the technology is created can only originate from the technology’s creator. All trades of that technology afterwards must wait a round. This falls in line with the idea that: Player A, with 5 Units, can give 4 of those Units to Player B (who had 0 to begin with)... but Player B cannot give 2 of those Units to Player C in the same round.
    • Size Loss rules that were updated last round are now in effect for any Military Actions that involve Size Losses as of this round opener.
    • Economy 5 Special Action “Upgrade Resource Quantity” has had it’s verbage updated to better stress that the action automatically places control of the new Trade Post in the hands of the user of the Special Action, as per a successful Buyout.
    • This Round Opener, the GM Team is attempting something new: less GM-written fluff in the opener to streamline the Opener process. Where appropriate, we will use what a player has written in their IC thread, if it does not run counter to GM plots, plans, or rules. This was discussed in Discord, but for those players whom were not part of the discussion, please feel free to express your opinions in the OOC.

    Growth!

We are the Warden’s of World’s End and we shall guard the galaxy from extinction.” (EHZ becomes the Galactic Power, Wardens of World’s End, and has a sixth action starting this round; EHZ is now referred to as WWE.)

In the scant few years that have passed since the revelation of the Simulacrum the galaxy has changed almost beyond recognition. Horrors lurk in the Core, and the Revolution hints at enemies yet-unknown. Faced with these dangers, the Vilari can accept only one course of action. Reaching out to their friends and neighbors, they propose the formation of a new power, one united in the pursuit of peace and the defense of innocent species everywhere. This Star League will seek out the monsters that lurk in the night, confronting terror with valor and despair with hope. The Star League Charter is unanimously approved by the Seer Council, and is presented to Antich Heaventreader as a gesture of brotherhood in the shared goals of the League and the Wardens. A shield stands ready to guard Axiom, forged of the righteous spirit of every free being that calls it home. (VLS becomes the Galactic Power, Vilari Star League, and has a sixth action starting this round; VLS is now referred to as VSL.)

Seeing a longstanding ally and scoffing at the Sisterhood's suggestion that the Eye of the Horizon's interaction with the Same was anything but the machines picking up some stray signals, additional measures are taken to establish a more permanent bond so as to better defend mutual interests. More space is allotted on Verne for a permanent Embassy, and ambassadors are sent to Hearth for much the same purpose. (GLR establishes an embassy with WWE)

Believing that the Celenian Republic is, as Cedos puts it, "a haven of wonderful technologies," diplomats are sent to establish formal, respectful communications. (CWZ establishes an embassy with CEL)

The colony of Shelohu endeavors to enhance their already sizeable influence over Vilari-Dipanan relations by funding the creation of a diplomatic station near the border of Sodality Space. The station is unique among Dipanan designs for its predominantly aquatic interior, requiring the Dipanan negotiators to wear environmental suits mirroring the Vilari's own. (DCN establishes an embassy with VSL)

Economic interest from the Nyxians in Symbraum space prompts a response from the UPT. A high ranking ambassador from Foreign Relations is set to be dispatched to Nyxian space following a confirmation from the Kamasati that they would find the Nyxians exchanging control of the Sonics to UPT in the year following establishment of formal diplomatic relations an acceptable compromise to the ongoing dispute between Nyx and the High Dreamer. (UPT establishes an embassy with NYX)

The Eyes of the Horizon, rebranding as Wardens at World's End, have been decent partners to the Couriers in business matters and when their request for additional Courier assistance growing relations with other stellar powers is received there is a desire to see it done quickly. However, a current large looming debt prompts slower action upon this request but eventually it manages to pass muster with the Couriers internal review board and diplomats are authorized to carry out the request. "SPACE KING" Jacques DeLeon receives an envoy bearing the seal of the Wardens and work is put in to connect the two Core-adjacent powers to facilitate easier means of communication between them. The current Speaker of the Eye is reminded that their debt to the Couriers was now quite sizable and would take serious efforts to clear, either by proactive repayment... or a large favor to be called in by the Couriers sometime down the road. (CmC establishes an embassy between WWE and KNV)

Now that the Duenem have access to the majority of the Opium market of S13, Radiance himself moves in, applying pressures to ensure that the the Duenem will be ensured as the local protectors. A system of Opiate users deep in debt to Duenem distributors put up little if any resistance to diplomatic annexation and the Duenem’s sphere of influence quickly extends into the region. (DNM successfully presses a claim on S13, 1/1 and gains 1 Unit.)

With the aid of Tezh teachers in earlier years the Droccen find a foothold among the water sages and are able to bring them into the fold of the Galactic Droccen Empire. (DCC successfully presses a claim on H20, 1/1 and gains 1 Unit.)

The Celenian Republic moves ahead with enforcing somewhat punitive terms per the treaty with the dissolved Jackstar Free Union. The native machines of the region are allowed to voice dissent, but their concerns are politely ignored as progress towards annexation continues. (CEL successfully presses a claim on Q27, 1/2.)

(SYN successfully presses a claim on U19, 1/2.)

(EAA successfully presses a claim on R6, 1/2.)

The Alysians were clearly able negotiators given their successful and somehow legal annexation of a region run by lawyers. (EAA successfully presses a claim on P6, 1/1 and gains 1 Unit.)

(KSP successfully establishes a claim on N4.)

(CBS successfully presses a claim on I5, 1/2.)

(DSD establishes an embassy with FCO)

(FCO establishes an embassy with KCW)

(FCO establishes a Claim on W21)

Autha Snapneck's diplomatic mission to Niconia recovers from its previous failure. She is given one more chance to bring the region under the control of the Rothuun. This attempt is backed up by a demonstration of military might, with the implied threat of invasion should the Niconians continue to hold out. (RMT successfully establishes a claim on Q21)

After significant effort to bring parts and pieces of a vast space station into an otherwise empty sector of space, the Droccen Imperium finally completes their New Market Station! This large habitat allows for nearly a hundred thousand humanoids to live comfortably, as they work to mine the limited amount of (very valuable) minerals in the otherwise dead part of space.
(DCC completes Economy Station in F20 gaining the region, defining the [Good] resource as [Bilithium] and gaining control of TP1)

A close working relationship has fostered between Celestia Enterprises and the Meritocracy, so much so that the two powers agree to a mutual branding campaign! The Meritocracy is introduced to a number of brand managers who help cultivate a xeno-first branding outlook among the marketing teams ensuring the somewhat confused Realtaists that a good brand who responded to complaints far away from its ownership headquarters received very good press in alien markets. (TMC adopts CLS CI Surplus Brand Recognition for Increased Die Size for Buyouts and Resisting Buyouts in regions found in the Hard/Improbable ZoI with a third Trade Post)

Finding the stance of the Sisterhood in securing their own interests and internal politics tiresome despite their assertions their organization is in it for the good of all Axiom, the Melfynians decided to continue establishing better relations with the only other group with some proper goal they are working towards - even if they are pirates reviled by the rest of the galaxy.
(MYA successfully raises their reputation with the ANE from 1 to 2)

Hoping the OwO hubs did their job of exposing the Merfolk to the wider galaxy, diplomatic clusters were sent to the nearby region and slowly worked towards meeting the leaders of he various factions as the “gifts”; the Melfynians could not deny there was some importance to determining the status of the Mandarake shells and perhaps with the assistance and resources of the Melfynians and OwO such a task would be accomplished satisfactorily, they did their best to remind the Merfolk that all of them, the Melfynians being no exception, are but small fish in the larger ocean and ought come together lest they be devoured by the bigger threats- and they didn't even mean the Same.
Unfortunately for the Melfynians it seems activities in I29 had already attracted a bigger fish. Speakers of the One make an unexpected appearance and talk of one unified truth undercuts Melfynian progress in the region largely accomplished via UwU messenger. (MYA successfully presses a claim on I29, 1/2...until the region is converted. 1 Unit of UwU addicted natives leave the region to join the Melfynian cluster bringing with them a claim to the region that can be asserted (as a new claim) in Round 9)

Though able to bridge the cultural divide on the basis of OwO and open the door to further negotiations the distance of the Melfynians from J30 leads to a slower opening of diplomatic relations than the Melfynians had anticipated. Still, the locals do appear willing to listen to fellow adherents of OwO. (MYA successfully establishes a claim on J30)

Election results are in from the Sisterhood of Silence referendum at the Destiny Conference and the Core Patrol Corps has emerged victorious! In a unanimous landslide victory the coalition-minded band of soldiers and militants who called themselves Patrolmen gained the favor and support of existing patrons to gain control over the majority of current and projected Monasteries. However there are those for whom this arrangement is not lightly taken as Abbess Dorith in recently uncovered Lighted Pathway demonstrates when she announces her alignment with the Mother Superior, still vested deep within the Core, and refuses to surrender her monastery to the Patrolmen all the while deriding the order’s former allies for betraying the cause. Likewise a number of R&D members who had been all in on CCI retire with their leader Leelee Buildfast taking a number of them to Grymlan space. For the most part however the rank and file members of the former Sisterhood seem eager to take the fight to the Same regardless of who they were fighting beside and the new leadership of the militant Core border guards are quick to erase past transgressions while retaining positive relations with those who had helped shepherd them into power.
(CPC becomes a new Organization taking the Umbral Augury in Hearth (N18) as its HQ (Same effect is retained from completion) and acquiring H18, P12, and T8 as Bases! See Org Table for full CPC Organization breakdown.
SoS retains their HQ in the Core and a Base in H12. The remaining leaders, the Mother Superior and Abbess Dorith, appear to have a plot in motion but most that remains are cults of personality around these Sisters.
CCI dissolves before it can begin but its remnants head to OwO offering a free technology designed by OwO in exchange for the completion of a 3-action Econ/Mil CCI research facility.)

    Trade!

It was good to be king. In other words, paradise for the affluent Nyxians who owned and operated the many galactic industries fueling this seemingly endless growth. (E10 used; NYX declares itself a Merchant Power gaining a sixth Economy only action and special ZoI for Economy actions!)

The continued and determined efforts of the Vilari to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict over limited resources in K23 not least of which involved pouring significant investment into expanding the availability of Mercury Sticks does not go unrecognized. Hungerers and Defenders alike were now able to fulfill their needs for the precious mercurial substance and while rationing did need occasional implementation none truly went without and the Vilari are recognized as the sole force behind making this impossible to imagine situation a reality. The leadership of Hungerers and Defenders both approach the Star League to offer their humble service to the peaceful space farers confident the Vilari would look out for their people in all the years to come and rallying the already popular support for the aliens into a full blown welcoming parade. (E5 used; VSL upgrades K23 Mercury Sticks from [Good] to [Great] taking TP 3)
(VSL gains a claim to K23 with +2 to pressing this claim in Round 9)

The Celenian war machine demands metal at its altar and so it is additional alloys that are brought to the capital to be transformed into more capital ships. (E5 used; CEL upgrades Ordivicia (Q25) Ordivician Alloys from [Good] to [Great] taking TP 3)

The Eternal Assembly of Alysia is quick to make new economic contacts in the region of Axiom they now found themselves in post-Revolution. Unfortunately for their new neighbors the presence of the powerfully mercantile Alysians spells doom for long held and long relied upon imports whose suppliers seem eager to escape to higher earnings promised by the Assembly. Union loses access to its fuel source prompting the early rumblings of civil discontent back in the SPR as energy rationing is forced to be reimplemented while the Kamasati find their latest innovation depowered by loss of access to their own Ascendant Seeds.

Though many clamored for the opportunity to purchase the Broker’s Mysterious Artifact, the Guild Empire of Nyx submitted an early - and very public - bid that quickly stymied many… but excited the Broker quite a bit. Though some more bids were made, with promises behind them to try and sway the odd seller away from the Guild Empire, it was obvious that the Broker did not want empty promises. Only wealth - proven, controlled, cultivated wealth - interested the being… and so when all other bidding was closed, the Guild Empire of Nyx still had the highest bid. The Broker, through the Cosmic Couriers, accepted payment and handed over the item: A Caller Fragment that apparently came from former Sanctum space.
(NYX receives the Caller Fragment, “Friendly Interest!” Effect: Once/round +1 Inquest Explorations [OR] +1 to Diplomacy GPs every fourth action taken for that Great Project!)

Before the Broker leaves with all the new funding the sale has secured the secretive seller, the Duenem are visited privately, and more funds change hands as the Broker provides them with what could very well be some Useful Information...
(The Broker’s “Useful Information” is sold to the Duenem. This is currently considered a state secret, and can be shared to whomever the Duenem’s wish.)

Prominent members of the sector of space in region D32 - who would normally extol the virtues of Sheerest Reverie - begin to discuss the Sleepers, the Dreamers, and the Gods. It is not long before the whole region is joining in on the conversation, and within just a few short Galactic Years, the region is officially among those that follow Spiral Dancer. This seemed to happen almost naturally...
(D32 is converted to Spiral Dancer.)

    Terror!

Consolidator Disco Webcap continues the campaign against the cartels of New Dar in the Cyrellian Expanse. With the severing of their funding from Lyraen exports the cartels are reeling leaving them vulnerable to a concerted assault on their last remaining source of funding, the Nyxians. Nyxian powder merchants are forcefully evicted to Gelean space, protesting the interference in voluntary free trade the whole way despite receiving the Mother's condolences for their lost profits with an offer of help securing trade in any other goods in Kombuch space. Meanwhile back planetside a number of the remaining powerful cartel lords are arrested or killed in confrontations with Kombuch authorities. (KBC raids J8 TP1 [Cyreilean Marching Powder] from NYX)

Empress Sai awakes one morning to very distressing news! Superstar Korima has been kidnapped!. The perpetrators seem to have gotten to her in between broadcasts, somehow convincing others that they were her drivers to the next location... unfortunately, Korima's Guardian was found bound and tied in a closet, confirming that those were not Korima's normal transporters. SPACE KING - Korima's baby-daddy - is informed that his baby-momma is missing, and young SPACE PRINCE is safe, but missing his mother. There is not a lot of information to go on, and it's very obvious to the people at large that Korima is missing, no matter what excuses are given.
(Korima has been kidnapped! Leads are few! The Kidnappers seem to have gotten away quite cleanly!)

Reports of an unusual - almost dry - rainfall on New Dar leave the planet within the Cyrelian Expanse (J8) uncomfortable, but unharmed. Some Lyraens on the planet complain about an itching feeling for a couple days, but the Kombuch sponsored medical team that is sent in to confirm things happily reports to everyone that nothing seems out of the ordinary.
(KBC owned planet J8 is affected by a strange, but apparently harmless, weather phenomenon. Everyone is fine.)

A great deal of political and social changes in H28 prompts a number of significant mercantile interests to depart the region heading into Etherite territory which was said to be more rich in opportunity for the business minded and hopefully less volatile.
(H28 loses 1 Unit and ETH gains 1 Unit!)

High Coordinator Flash Starshine flies into an adorable fury when his security chiefs inform him that Emotional Appeal, the Caller fragment some of the Grymlans had taken to calling “Friendrod”, has been stolen! It seems some alien infiltrators managed to abscond with the treasure though who exactly was responsible remains unknown to Combine security forces. (Emotional Appeal Caller Fragment is stolen from OwO!)

Rothuun high command is informed via email from the underfunded cyber security teams on payroll that a number of unauthorized requests for information were processed and dispensed to inauthentic “secure” access points. It appears vital technical information related to Microplating were downloaded for free by crafty alien infiltrators. Who could have cracked the passcode!? (RMT has Microplating stolen by unknown thieves!)

The following Capitals go Unstable due to a lack of their required resources and failure to attempt and procure a source of the demanded resource.

While the Casrule had emerged victorious in their civil war with the other Kryptids it seems the sorcerers of sector M23 were tired feeding into the war machine of the hives while getting nothing in return. A powerful sorcerer known as Lokai rallies his fellow magically gifted fighters to rise up against Kryptid dominion over their lives. (2 Units of Sorcerer Rebels under Sorcerer Supreme Lokai (9) attempt to declare M23’s independence from the Casrule!

Under Kamasati the Space Whalers of M7 form a militant union and demand independent sovereignty as their own pantheon of Spiral Dancers, no longer willing to accept stories of their inferiority to the Kamasati. (4 Units of Union Militants under Admiral Kleb (5) attempt to declare M7’s independence from the Kamasati!)

    War!

The Mier Formica have uncovered a more efficient and advanced means of controlling and directing the energy output of GLD equipped ships. Superior electronic relays enable FTL drives to run longer for less power allowing longer journeys in shorter timeframes and with less risk to the engines. (MFM introduces Energy Distribution tech! Slot: Engines. Requires: Electronics.
Effects: Reduces number of Distance Loss rolls by one)

(LYR introduces Lyraen Elemental Implants! Slot: Personnel Equipment. Requires: Arcana
    Effects: +1 to Battle Rolls)

The result of two decades of work by top Celenian engineers with a factually unlimited budget, mega-scale "capital" warships exit their prototyping phase and are ready for full production. A deep space shipyard the size of a terrestrial city orbits near the inner asteroid belt in the Celes System, ready to receive millions of tonnes of alloys and process them into ship hulls and armor within a matter of months instead of years. As the apotheosis of Celenian naval doctrine, capital ships represent a vast (but efficient) concentration of military resources. With the firepower of a dozen smaller ships combined into one heavily armored hull, operated by half the standard crew, a Celenian cruiser outperforms other fleets tonne-for-tonne while keeping personnel and hardware as safe as it can be in the void. (CEL introduces Capital Ship Hulls tech! Slot: Logistics. Requires: Hard Metals. Effects: -1 total Combat Losses. Unit Tonnage doubled to 2 MT per Unit)

A refined version of the ascendant seeds bolsters the psychic properties of those with psychic abilities. This is a weapon wielded by the most powerful gods. (KSP introduces Ambrosia tech! Slot: Medicine, Mad Science, and Blessings. Requires: Ascendant Seeds. Effects: +1 Combat rolls)

With another monastery subject to terrorist destruction the most stalwart defenders of the Core against Same leakage quickly build a replacement monitoring station to pick up the slack. Designs introduced on the Umbral Augury are refined and adjusted to fit the Svaatyr style and form. (Same Monitoring Station in L20 is completed by GLR, VSL, SVA, DCN, & WWE granting the region +1 on Stabilization rolls and acting as a deterrent to Same leakage from the Core)

In recognition of many years of service, and his position as personal captain to the Speaker, Ship Master Sildyr-Vos is named Fleet Master of the Star League Defense Fleet. His ascension cements the rise in Reef Sildyr's political influence, so recently felt in the invasion of region I-25. Only time can tell whether this warlike stance will continue, or if cooler heads will once again prevail. (VSL creates a Military 9 General, “Fleet Master Sildyr-Vos”)

An unfortunate lack of preparation for the unpredictable nature of Axiom dooms a fleet of Harmonized ships who set off into the great unknown and never return. (HMY fails to recon K1, losing two units!)

Eager to see the glory of the Red Fleet bolstered as had been promised under the former Chairman Vaou only to be left to languish under Chairman Tats the General Secretary appoints an ideologically devout militarist to the position of Commissar, a military-political position tasked with not only leading men and women on the battlefield but instructing them off the battlefield in the ideals enshrined by socialist doctrine. Sacrifice of one for the many would be emphasized among the ranks until each and every soldier in the field was ready to give their life for those of their comrades both on the field and back home. (UNN creates a Military 7 General, “Commissar Debra Holt”)

The proud warrior and hunter of sector E15 adds a new trophy to his belt, dominion over his home system recognized by the largest galactic power in Axiom, the Mier Formica. The proud fighter pledges his service to the queen, eager to collect trophies from the vast frontier of Formican expansion. (MFM gains a Military 7 General, “Predator”)

A piercing rupture to the tranquil observation of the gods on Mount Vispim comes from the stars when an alien ship crashes in the midst of territory held by a powerful Moigan tribal confederacy. The gods are distraught at this disruption of the Dream Children and descend to shield the crash site from curious Moigan. The Kamasati cloud their arrival on the surface in a psychic storm deterring further investigation by their primitive charges. The Kamasati discover the alien ship is a vessel in service to the Kombuch Bureaucratic Collective albeit one apparently commissioned almost thirty years into the future from present date. Ship logs indicate the vessel was performing classified military related inquiries into the unsteady Cyreilian Expanse wormhole during a phase of activity by the stellar phenomena when it was drawn in and violently tossed out right above the atmosphere of the Moigan homeworld. A single survivor, an Aminitan synthetic, begs the Kamasati to return them home offering a small cache of tactical data that would likely grant the Kamasati serious insight into strategy having an additional thirty plus years of Axiom historical war records to utilize in the now and pledging to erase its memory after this transfer ensuring no others would gain valuable or dangerous insight into the future. However, one of the gods observes that there could be far more gained in stripping both ship and survivor for advanced technology noting that the Aminitan acted as the primary data storage for the vessel and as a non-psionic lifeform that had disrupted the peaceful Moigan it was arguable the Aminitan was a demon whose death was not only beneficial to the Kamasati but a just punishment for demonic incursion. Unfortunately it seems this matter cannot remain strictly internal as echoes of a distress signal from the ship’s initial arrival are detected having been directed towards Kombuch space likely being picked up by Kombuch, Gelean, and who knows how many other curious listeners in.
(KSP {CHOICE} accept the Aminitan’s offer increasing the Military score of a General by +1 OR scrap the Aminitan and their ship obtaining Advanced Fusion Reactors. Effect: +2 Tactical Maneuvering. Slot: Logistics. Requires: Fuel)

Though skeptical of the Duenem’s intentions, the AI Hanibal seems eager to have their support in reclaiming it’s home system and personal kingdom back. Their aid against the Syndrome would please Hanibal greatly, so the AI deigns to allow the Duenem time to gather their forces.
(DNM successfully convinces Hanibal to withhold vengeance while they prepare for WAR gaining 3 Units. Continuing to delay WAR will require a [Diplomacy] action every round, with the TN increasing by (+2) for every round. The current TN is 14. Gain a +1 to the roll for every Unit Raised in that round. If DNM reaches their unit cap without attacking, Hanibal, and his 3 units, will leave.)

Having led the task force to secure Audrey II, Prince Sukero is named General of the Droccen navy in light of the Same breaches happening throughout the galaxy. The Sisters at Dawn Embrace are charged with heightened vigilance by the new General wishing to strike swiftly any foe that tried to escape the Core. (DCC creates a Military 7 General, “Great General Sukero”)

Facing the Kombuch in battle was an unusual and unpleasant experience for many organic forms of life. The fungal colonies capacity to propagate in living or dead flesh meant that the untended dead or unprotected living became spawning grounds for more Kombuch. It was a slow process, the propagation of a xenocolony, but for many a horrifying one. This did not deter the Kombuch from harvesting all they could from a failure on the battlefield and their colonies always sought growth in size, even in death. (KBC introduces Tactical Doctrine Mushroom Cloud: If the KBC lose the battle after succeeding at the Tactical Roll, their spore pollen lingers. During the next round's combat in the same region they will gain a +2 Combat Bonus for every unit they lost from combat or size in the previous round of combat up to a maximum of +8 at 4 units lost.)

Despite opening a relatively peaceful line of communication and the inhabitants expressing a degree of willingness to join the Empire, Commander Talon Kaarde of the Faivi Ascendancy sweeps in with the Killbot Fleets, quickly establishing control. The Geleans appear hopeful that those upset will be quelled when the nature of the threat posed by the Same and the need for military readiness can be explained. (GLR successfully invades M9! Undefended and unsung the natives of F14 are quick to bow their heads in reverence and respect when the King-General of Kron unfurls his banners on their planet. How long this subservience would last however... (KRO successfully invades F14! F14 is in Unrest!)

Inching closer to cutting off Dawnstar Dominion northern expansion opportunities the Meritocracy, if it could still be called as such, leads annexation of sector V6 with Formican oversight keenly advising the novice stellar warriors.

Good fences make good neighbors or so the old Celenian saying goes. The Republic moves to establish a military presence in sector S25 as a buffer between both Syndrome and Lyraen access to the Celenian capital. One ancient, failed human colony exists in the region, guarded by pernicious and savage mutants. The campaign to conquer the planet consists mainly of using the Harbinger of Dawn's tractor beams to deorbit 50 to 100 meter rocks from the asteroid belt until uncooperative natives are pummeled into submission. This is expected to take months, but save on ammunition! The mutated inhabitants seem less than eager to sit back and allow their destruction and salvaged space capable pre-FTL ships are marshalled to meet the Celenian supership...

The Drax have demonstrated their danger to the signatories of the Hallion Accords ejecting civilized governance from sectors T8 and T12 as well as decimating trade and security within the Dominion. The newly empowered General Secretary is swift to respond wishing to stomp out the threat of further Drax attacks against unaligned or claimed regions through the elimination of the Draaxeri Claw which had taken up residence in the space between Huville and Truffopolis. The Superterran attack fleet, or what remained of it, would be met by the newly returned Princess Task Force back from its long tour of duty in Droccen space alongside the retrofitted weapons platforms that had originally defended the now occupied region. A new force is also added to the mix, a collective of mind-linked psychics from the Gestalt whose mental abilities allowed them to shed a great deal of mechanical weaponry in favor of mind probing and manipulating the opposition against itself.

War was messy business but it was a business nonetheless. The nearby sector of D24 had been explored by the Harmony years ago revealing a region occupied by three-eyed humanoid adherents to a philosophy not dissimilar to that of the warrior Kronin but lacking a national productive focus. Lord Domino was not eager to risk his life on the field of battle but he had learned much of tactics and warfare from the Gelean Emperor in the time before the latter’s meteoric rise and sought to utilize this tactical understanding to avoid direct danger in the annexation of this region.

While the Brewers under their chronically inebriated Drunken Master leader are unable to pierce the imperial heartlands for plunder and revenge they put on an impressive show and the Drunken Master’s baffling prowess as a battle commander and personal combatant leaves many veterans of the encounter in awe. A special envoy is dispatched by the rabble roused army of local brewers to the Kronin eager to see the political and military protection offered by the Kron warrior than face another encounter with the duplicitous Amanyk. Discovery!

Freshly from the scars of War the Core Patrol sets forth ripping and tearing through the rubble and wreckage of all the Same destroyed. The process is slow going but with the help of the Squall the Core Patrol quickly at least contains the samples the Masters deem salvageable enough. Syndrome scientists are briefly tapped in the evaluation of the wreckage and the Wardens see what possible technology could be recovered from this atrocious incident. Alas, the results are slim to none. Some suggestions of what the Same use for their advanced technology, but not enough to even begin to research it properly.
(WWE Investigates the Same Salvage. Same technology slots discovered! [Ranged] and [Reconnaissance and Divination]. No other information is available at this time.)

The Conclave of the Black Sun find very little to go on and the agents send to investigate are ready to close the case. That is until one agent refuses to let this go and starts his own investigation, he uses his holiday days and takes a ship out to find more leads. The agent speaks to a maid from the nearby hotel who saw some suspicious people near the Library of Peace just before it was stolen. Tracking the whereabouts of these people showed that they left CBS space heading towards CWZ space, checking their credentials the passports turned out to be rather good fakes. Following the trail to CWZ space the agent saw what he believed to be the Library being taken into a secure facility. The agent quickly makes his way home to report.(CBS Investigates the theft of the Library of Peace, and determines that CWZ is responsible!)

Rothuun attack ships ready for an encounter with yet another Same version detected in sector P16 and sweep into the region en force prepared to do battle with the dangerous all-consuming robotic menace...only to find they had overprepared. Same v0.05 ships are detected but it appears they had detected the large Rothuun fleet themselves and swiftly begun a retreat from the region moving spiralwards towards region Q17. While an outraged Rothuun commander attempts to pursue “the cowardly metallic c***s” the Same’s engines outpace the Rothuun’s own and they slip into FTL escaping to the previously unexplored Q17 and the minotaur command is forced to consolidate their forces in P16 and gain a greater understanding of their stellar cartography before rocketing off into another unknown region. The local region appears to have been thoroughly ravaged by the Same, or perhaps it had never been especially rich in resources. Whatever the case was the stars in the system supported naught but dusty planetoids and asteroid belts. Preliminary surveys suggest the region could in time be turned into a productive colony but for now it was largely a boring corridor through the cosmic spacescape. (RMT discovers P16 an Empty Sector! 3 Units of Same v0.05 are detected before they move into Q17!

Same v0.05 might have escaped the Rothuun too had they not retreated into a region midway through being catalogued by a diplomatic detachment of minotaur explorers. The peaceful explorers are taken aback by the sudden appearance of Same drones on their radar but quickly compose themselves and retreat to an uninhabited moon to transmit their most recent discovery to Rothuun high command while another OMS message detailing their other discoveries of the region is sent alongside riding a lower encrypted carrier frequency. It seems numerous agricultural worlds had been seeded in an ancient age with slightly radioactive but hardy wheat cultures which now dominated two worlds in this system, albeit in wild untended plains rather than the carefully managed fields archaeological study suggests once existed. (RMT discovers Q17 which contains a [Good] resource of Glow Wheat and an Open LC! 3 Units of Same v0.05 are detected in the region!)

Knight Christie was an intrepid knight in the service of SPACE KING’s Knights Vacio and while she may have found Jacques’ posturing and creation of gaudy service medals in favor of actual coherent policy somewhat jarring there was something to be said for the freedom afforded to a sufficiently socially affluent knight in his ranks. After pawning her golden diamond encrusted FLEX MEDALLION to a Duenem-owned pawnshop on the border of Hollow and Niuan she and a crew of approximately fifty lesser knights and squires depart into sector O11 looking for opportunity. They discover within this sector a star system hosting a rather advanced post-industrial world whose work in computer technology was impressive for a space-age species much less one still landbound such as the natives appeared to be. The Clone Knights cause quite a stir by their arrival and planetary leadership, a collective of national leaders from across the globe, meet with Knight Christie as ambassadors for their people to the wider galaxy. Christie learns that local efforts had been focused for the past decade on completing a very advanced AI known as DOLE who they believe will be capable of calculating every possible uniform 5-polytope which was a mathematical proof that plagued their engineers. The locals seem either oblivious or unconcerned with the fact that their AI appears to have the potential to outstrip almost any currently known AI operating in Axiom. (KNV discovers O11 which contains a [Great] resource of Phasic Microchips, an Open LC, and the Great Project AI DOLE (2/5)!)

Less interested in pursuing exploration for knowledge and more concerned with garnering glory Knight Nina, fellow recipient of SPACE KING’s honorifics, half drunkenly sets out into uncharted space noted on star charts as sector P14. A few weeks into the trip the Knights came upon a rather disturbing sight. In a stellar system centered not on a star but around a micro condensed black hole a fleshy pink mass the size of a planet orbitted in a slow elliptical. The “planet” appeared to be composed not of rock or gas but of flesh both “solid” in a squishy brain-like gel consistency and “liquid” in vast pink oceans of thick slurry. An abandoned artificial satellite appears to have been encamped around the unusual pink “space brain” but any signs of its constructors or previous inhabitants are long gone. Shockingly the space station, which appears to have been created as some means of observation, is still functional and seems capable of being restored and enhanced for a to-be-determined purpose. A single away mission reveals the “space brain” had its own atmosphere which while unpleasantly odorous was supportive of Clone Knight life and the pink sludge of the “oceans” registers with a multitude of medical properties that were still being examined. (KNV discovers P14 which contains a [Minor] resource of Liquified Brains, an Open LC, and the Great Project Brain Station I (3/5)!!)

Syndrome diplomats journey across unknown space come across an incredibly cold world covered in a strange pastel yellow viscous liquid metal. The race of native energy beings spend most of their days harvesting the liquid metal and distilling it into liquid Fermium. Syndrome agents are thus far unable to tell what role liquid Fermium plays, and the diplomats repeated attempts to question them have only served to anger the natives, or delight them. Whatever spewing ball lightning means in energy being language. (SYN discovers R20 which contains a [Great] resource of Liquid Fermium, an Open LC, and 2 units)

Rothuun “diplomats” find a world choked by rampant volcanism after several long months of searching. This planet is populated by a horrific race of reverse satyrs, goatmen with goat tops and bottoms, that live in an industrious yet incredibly theocratic society. Under the rule of God Emperor Baphomet , the reverse satyrs began building a great fleet in order to conquer space. Generations of effort have yielded a race of highly skilled shipbuilders. Unfortunately first contact proceed poorly as the minotaur emissaries could not avoid staring into the god emperor’s rectangular pupils. (RMT discovers P20 which contains a [Good] resource of Ship Builders, 3 units, and an Open LC)

Droccen probes find many worlds in this sector of space. One in particular seems to be a planet covered in a mixture of ice caps, tundra, taiga and vast oceans. Its most notable feature is its over 200 species of penguin ranging from the tiny sapient penguins living in igloo villages to 10 foot giants that patrol the coasts. Tourists from across the sector make routine pilgrimages in order to observe these adorable creatures from afar, unfortunately those that veer too close are often sent adrift or crash due to the sectors frequent electromagnetic pulses, courtesy of a nearby magnetar. This allows a more practical business of scrappers to support the vacation destination economy. DCC discovers G23 which contains a [Good] resource of Scrap Metal, and an Open LC. TP 1 owned by CWZ )

Emperor Bonaparte sends his trusted Commander Fiona Aeternus at the head of the Gelean Fleet to perform an intimidating reconnaissance of sector J10 intended to quell whatever forces had struck out against their vessels in earlier years. The Commander finds a desperate paranoid race of individuals apparently accelerated into a slowlight existence by the Maturation of Geleans and other stellar neighbors. It appears an early GLD mishap caused an FTL ship to crash in this system prompting paranoid fear mongering on the planet that had led to a rapid military and scientific industrialization focused on a single global purpose, to defend themselves from aliens. The locals have proliferated throughout this - “their” - sector of space thanks to rapid developments on internally self sufficient space habitats. A technologically lacking but nonetheless impressive fleet is assembled but not deployed against the Gelean recon force. GLR discovers J10 which contains a [Great] resource of Asteroid Habs, an Open LC, and 3 Units)

Kronin diplomats embark on a sojourn into sector H12 and rather quickly are set upon by ships marked with the One symbology utilized by the Sisterhood of Silence. It appears the final uncovered base, Lighted Pathway monastery, was here and with the recent election to shift focus the reigning Abbess Dorinth had enacted a tightly regimented order to maintain loyalty to the old cause and resist adoption of Core Patrol principles. The Kronin are provided with star charts of the region after they explain who they are and are processed through an extensive background check revealing no prior slights against the Sisterhood. Despite the star charts however the Monastery keeps a close eye on Kronin movements as they survey the lush verdant worlds native to this sector. (KRO discovers H12 which contains a [Good] resource of Transcendent Lettuce, an LC to the One, and 2 Units of Sisterhood Fanatics)

Syndrome bioships and massive Celenian cruisers each enter sector Q23 near simultaneously but it is the Celenians who travel the fastest between points of note in the system garnering attention and allies among the local populaces. A vibrant sector of space the two competing powers discover worlds rich in untapped mineral deposits, inhabitants of clever mind and strong arm, and a powerful source of energy near the center of the sector that could be, and in part has been tapped to fuel the majority of the resource’s local power needs. The majority of space capable locals appear to adhere to a belief in the divine inventor not at all dissimilar to the beliefs promoted by the Rass. (CEL/SYN discovers Q23 which contains a [Good] Undefined resource, a Church of Rust LC, 2 Units of Energy Protectors, and a Great Project: Ionic Resonator (2/5)! CEL has a Claim to the region!)

Another Kronin exploration into space reveals a most unusual star system. Much like the crystallized sector of T6 on the opposite side of the galaxy it appears some great transmutation took place some time in the recent past that transformed an entire planet including its inhabitants into gingerbread. The entire scenario is almost too nonsensical for the Kronin to believe but it appears quite real and the gingerbread inhabitants seem more than eager to escape their sugary homeworld to see the stars, and perhaps find a means of reversing their awful curse. A collective of esoterics and mystics among the gingerbread people claim a powerful witch laid this curse upon them for reasons forgotten or lost but believe she left the clues needed to track her down if only there was time enough to decipher them. (KRO discovers H14 which contains a [Good] resource of Gingerbread People, an Open LC, 1 Unit of Gingerbread Soldiers, and a Great Project: Riddle of Ginger (3/5)!)

Setting off towards the galactic rim the Eternal Assembly of Alysia swiftly meets with the Eradicators whom they were currently conducting business with. Commodore Desolatē offers a personal tour of the sector which played host to his band of misfits and trouble causers exclaiming his own relief at the arrival of the Alysians in place of the Vilari or Communists. The Commodore explains that he and his crew have turned the majority of the regional production into the creation of devastating weapons but opines that the Alysians could conceivably throw their economic weight as a customer around to change production if they desired, though the Commodore urges the Assembly to stay the course. The numerous factories scattered across regional worlds were fine tuned to produce specific parts and pieces and the Alysians wouldn’t want to put anyone out of a job, would they? (EAA discovers R2 which contains a [Great] resource of Photon Torpedos, an Open LC, 4 Units of Eradicator Hopefuls, an ANE Base, and a Great Project: Regional Pension System (2/5)! )

Reaching out towards the edge of the galactic veil the Realtaists in the Meritocracy seek out what lies in the far beyond. They discover in this sector a series of star systems supporting numerous ocean worlds rich in metallic content. Magnetic harvesters pull up loads of raw metallic ore dusted into fine particles and infused with the saline content of their briney origin. Alloys crafted from these purified ocean metals appear incredibly resilient no doubt explaining their availability for purchase from enterprising ocean trawlers. (TMC discovers Z4 which contains a [Great] resource of Sailine Alloy & an Open LC!)

The Conclave of the Black Sun
His Excellency, Saldizan Rey-Zansharak, Viceroy of Amanyk

    Actions:
    Rolls.
1: [Diplomacy] Finalise claim on I5.
The negotiations are nearing completion and once all the paperwork is done the distant lost colony will once again be fully reintegrated into the Conclave.

2: [Diplomacy] Work on Axiom's Greatest Diner. [3/5]
The Conclave's finest engineers have finally agreed on a design for the diner's kitchens and work commences immediately. The fusion oven is considered by many to be overkill, but it can roast an entire whale in mere minutes should the need arise.

    3: [Military] Raise one unit.
Fortunately no capital ships were lost to the Antillians, though the Jade Spear of Zalan did sustain heavy damage and several escorts were destroyed. The shipyards of the Conclave immediately get to work repairing and replacing the losses.

4: [Military] Invade G11 with five units. Under the Viceroy's Leadership. (Moriko made me put this edit here. If I get in trouble it's his fault.)
Though the Brewers may have withdrawn from the Conclave's territory they are not given the chance for reprieve. The fleet pursues them to their own territories after resupplying, recharging and reinforcing. Transmissions are sent ahead of the gathered might of the Conclave requesting that the Antillian forces stand down and surrender. Regardless of their decision, the Conclave promises total amnesty to all involved.

5: [Economy] Buyout Cadmium, F10 Trade Post One. Failure.
As per an agreement with the Kombuch, the Conclave sends assayers to acquire Cadmium in bulk quantities. They are of course well prepared to meet the financial demands of the White Star Forge for such a valuable construction material.

6: [Intrigue] Secret. The time has come to strike from the shadows.

Embassy Action: Send the Kombuch all the necessary specifications for the Galactic Currency Mint technology.

Proclamation to the Commonwealth of Zara and whomever purchases the Library of Peace:
To whom it may concern, the Conclave of the Black Sun has at no point relinquished ownership over the Library of Peace. Our reach is great and extends indefinitely into the future. Only through returning this treasure to us or to the Knights Vacio will we grant you reprieve from our justice. However, until you have done so, be assured that our agents will pursue you from now until the stars burn out and entropy consumes the cosmos.

The news that the Library of Peace had been stolen by the Commonwealth of Zara is met by uproar among the Conclave. Alas, there is little that can be done to recover it at this time and they are forced to be patient. Despite appearances, patience is something they have in great supply...
