There was a substantial portion of the Eris that seemed sympathetic to the Realtaists nearby. It was little worry to the Advisory Council; non-citizens, and non-House individuals were regularly observed to be less proficient at decision-making than the higher-ups of Starfleet. Who were these fools, to think their little insubordination to the 'Dominion would go unnoticed? Did they not realise who they were dealing with?

Evidently not. The Advisory Council of the Iron Halls was called to session to discuss some of the Eris' inclination towards Realtaism, and not the Way, as representatives of the Library had introduced to the inhabitants of Eriador. Marius was not present, as he was away on Crusade. Officers Gladien & Elscol were also not present, as they were away on a diplomatic mission to the FCO. No matter; Only 6 votes were required for a majority in the Iron Halls. Against bleary-eyed opposition from Officer Tariel on the basis of military action destroying potential test subjects, and Officer Gaius who advocated forced recruitment of the individuals in question as expendable front-line forces, the remainder of the Council voted to scour the surface of Eriador after evacuating those Eris whose potential for loyalty was unquestioned. The forces of the Blackheart Brigade & Stalwart Shield were dispatched within the week, the Blackhearts to transport those loyal individuals to the orbital Mindbreaker Academy, and take potentially useful prisoners, and the Shield to scour Eriador. Officer Vandred personally took command of the Blackheart Brigade, as Commodore Xixis resigned in protest, awaiting court-martial for insubordination.

Most evacuated Eris had no conception of what they were being taken away from. Most followed the 'Dominion willingly when they were informed they were going to be taken to a forum in which to discuss the Realtaist threat; Facilities for growth of new Eris and experimentation on psionic subjects were primarily located on Academy grounds, to avoid interference from Ley Line Nexus, but those facilities that were located on Ley Nexus were evacuated with whatever force Starfleet marines deemed necessary.

On their return, Officers Gladien & Elscol were informed of the events that had transpired, and disappeared the next day along with most of the higher officers of their commands. Master Marius was informed of the decisions on his return from the successful second strike of the Crusade, and reportedly locked himself in his quarters for two days with Jack at his side. When they emerged, Marius announced the third & fourth strikes of the Crusade, and reappointed Xixis Commodore of the Blackhearts. Taking Redskull Squadron, the Master's force, 1st Brigade of PsiCorps, and the Blackheart Brigade, Marius departed for neighbouring systems, issuing a proclamation once his crews were in transit.

People formerly of and within the 'Dominion. I speak to you from the bridge of the New Dawn. In the last decade, much of what we knew about the galaxy has changed. We the Dasari are not the only power within the universe. We do not have an undisputed right to rule. We have lauded ourselves over every race and nation we have encountered, because we believed we were better than them. I do not believe that claim. I believe that while uncertain and dangerous times demand change, that change cannot be an alteration of our existing views to extend across space. The people of sector W7, the natives that lived peacefully before Starfleet arrived, deserved better. They did not deserve their deaths. The Houses cannot be permitted to continue to operate as they have for millennia.

The Eris did not deserve their destruction. While those who have been saved can rebuild, they have lost the better part of their people. I did not authorise this. I did not permit it. And that it happened nonetheless is a mark of the dangers of the Houses holding as much power as they do. I say to you, fresh-faced graduates of the Academy to hardened Starfleet veterans; what does House mean? Are the men and women with a House in their name better than you because of their birth? Because of their ancestors? I, a child born without a House to my name, who rose through the ranks through action, courage, and no small amount of luck, say it means nothing. Do not tear down the monuments to Axton and his successors; revere their glory and their accomplishments. Tear down the monuments to House Dominars who have never served a day of their life in Starfleet. To those Officers who rose to their rank, their prestige and power through their blood, I say this; You do not deserve your post. You do not deserve your position. You do not deserve your power. I will return; I will return with those who earned their position at my side. We can no longer dismiss those not like us as 'non-citizens'. Times have changed.

And we must change with them.

Spoiler: The Conclusion of the Civil War
    Show

Civil war! Master Marius has taken a large part of the Fleet and embarked once more on his Great Crusade, claiming that the Advisory Council is a relic of the ages, and must be torn down and rebuilt anew. Panic has spread through the Talvox System as the remaining portion of the fleet fights amongst itself, personnel in favour of Marius scrapping it out with those siding with the remnants of the Council. With Marius, Gladien & Elscol gone, the Council declares martial law & a state of emergency, appointing Officer Vandred, ancestor of the Council's founder Axton, as the Master-in-Lieu. Meanwhile, rumours spread of the fate of Stalwart Shield, still at rest above Eriador after the scouring. With the Eris gone, the demons they fought are reputed to have risen into orbit, and some say a brigade of Eris appeared from the Weave to lend a hand to the struggle. No word has been heard from Shield in months. Officer Dravus is listed as missing, and fights to succeed him breaking out within the leadership of the Wardens only adds to the chaos within the fleet.

A year into the conflict, Marius returns to Talvox. With the scarred and empty vessels of the Shield in tow, Marius leads his full strength at the divided and diminished remnants of the Council's forces. With the Furions breaking from the Council & remaining neutral and anchored at the Academy, resistance is scant. Those vessels that do choose to fight are blasted apart by the superior firepower of Starfleet vessels. The Council remains in session in the Iron Halls until Marius, Gladien & Elscol arrive. With their Squadron Leaders in tow, the Council attempts to fight, but Gladien is faster. Within a matter of seconds, the Council is dead, and over the coming weeks, the Houses are hunted by PsiCorps operatives furious at their link to the Scouring.

Marius begins talks to reorganise the government. With his Squadron Leaders & loyal Officers at his side, he sends some few to the Ninurtine Galactic Expo, to emphasise the legitimacy of his continued rule to the interstellar community. The real work of ironing out a new system begins.

Master's Force; The personal guard force of the standing Master. Remains within home territory 'cept in times of war, where they join the Master's grand fleet. Part of the Dawnguard wing, and commanded by Jack Ackar Silver, former Officer of the Dawnguard.

Stalwart Shield; Refitted with the last major reserves of metal available to the fledgling Aurelian Order, the 'Shield is one of the Wardens' heavier squadrons, comprised of bulky, ponderously slow heavy cruisers. Using tractor beams to remain anchored in formation during battle, these armoured beasts are formidable weapons platforms. Heavily damaged in the attack on Hallion, the Shield were rapidly repaired by the Aurelian Order and sent back into the field as a bulwark. Commanded by Dravus Jorian Lotheric, aging Officer of the Wardens.

Redskull Squadron; Where Ravager Squadron fought for the 'Dominion forces during the Dreider wars, and thus emerged a heroic and vaunted unit, the Redskulls were the Dreider forces' most effective strike unit, often operating alone from forward bases to conduct lightning assaults on key command positions behind 'Dominion lines. The unit was composed of the most veteran pilots fighting for the Dreider, and were integral to the Dreider ability to continue to prosecute the wars. In one of the last actions of the Third Dreider War, their commanding officer of the time, Farus Velkor Ghorakka, could see the tide of the war had well and truly turned, and rather than obey orders to fight on until destroyed, he took the squadron and surrendered, refusing to fight against his former brethren. The 'Dominion airforce chose to incorporate the Redskulls into their ranks, on the condition they were never deployed against Dreider dissidents. Newly equipped with GLD, the squadron is composed of hardened veterans, and fights loosely in wings of three, each pilot trusting his companions beyond doubt, and is the most innovative fighter squadron in the Felhounds, in stark contrast to the tight, squadron wide formations once employed by Ravager Squadron, and most other squadrons within the Felhounds. Commanded by Bren Velkor Ghor, second son of House Velkor.

1st Brigade, PsiCorps; PsiCorps is the newest wing within Starfleet, composed of Mindbreaker Eris from Eriador in U7. Eschewing starships, the Eris of the squadron possess forms largely biological in nature, living bio-craft fed and powered by energy extracted from ley line nexus on Eriador. These Eris have been trained for decades for combat, possessing frightening psionic power. Commanded by Gladien Xareia Bladed-One, founder of House Xareia.

Blackheart Brigade; The Dreadfleet has never needed to operate outside 'Dominion subspace - until now. The successes in the Great Crusade have driven Marius to authorise the GLD-conversion of the Blackheart Brigade, the 'Dominion's secondary terror unit. Deployed to suppress dissidents and unrest, and used to house prisoners of all types, Blackheart follows primary invasion forces to ensure loyalty or displacement of the native, occupied population. Commanded by Xixis Malus Ilhith, first son of House Malus.

Furion Squadron; Freed from the shadow cast by Ravager Squadron, Furion has emerged as the most aggressive unit in Starfleet. The lead squadron of the Felhounds, Furion is composed of young, hungry hotshots, and while this often leads to arguments and tensions between pilots, their individual skill is a force to be reckoned with. The kings of the simulators during academy training, Furion pilots are eager to join the Great Crusade, and test their skills in proper combat. Commanded by Gaius Marten Lodbrox, nephew of former Master Aurelius, Officer of the Felhounds.

Grey Bulwark; The first squadron of 'the Line' equipped with GLD, the 'Bulwark is one of the oldest continuously operational squadrons in Starfleet, known for their complex, interlocking defensive formations, and possessing the fastest cruisers among the Wardens' forces. Dispatched to aid the Rothuun traditionalist claimant during their leadership squabbles, in line with Marius' policy of conservative containment.

    Ravager Squadron
; The oldest and most decorated squadron in Starfleet, Ravager's Squadron Leaders were the most commonly elected to the position of Officer & Master. Such storied names as Aurelius, first Master of the Interstellar Era, back to Axton himself, led the Ravagers to glory on the battlefield. Lost with all hands on the Great Foray, the Ravagers banners remain on display in the Academy, a relic of the days the 'Dominion stood above all others.

Crimson Heart; Marius' personal flotilla of light cruisers, the only vessels to return from the Great Foray, credited with establishing the roots of vassalage within the neighbouring system of the pencilpushers. Lost in transit to defend their valiant allies in the SPR, the fate of the Crimson Heart remains unknown.

First Flight; The first squadron into space, First Flight scoured the stars in the days before the GLD was gifted to the 'Dominion, tirelessly mapping the Talvox system and surrounding sector, establishing peaceable relations with lesser races and remaining a beacon of hope that advanced life remained beyond our knowledge. Lost in battle against unknown foes during the Great Foray, First Flight remains a symbol of all exploration may gain for our great 'Dominion.

Shatter Squadron: The teeming mass of corvettes, crewed by the most inexperienced of Starfleet's recruits, is the breeding ground for competent non-nobility to rise to prominence. Unfortunately, this inexperience led Shatter to catastrophe as a routine navigation task delegated to a fresh-faced ensign went horribly awry, shooting the squadron into the heart of an exoplanet on their inaugural jump as part of the Great Foray.

    Wardens of World’s End
    Chief Deputy Warden Antich Heaventreader

    Actions:

[PHIL] [P10] Organize Shadow & Flame, In Accord to Knights In Service of the Source (5 LC bonus +1 to Secret Actions)
As enemies approach from all corners, a horde of death encroaching, and with living metal set to consume The Source a most unexpected thing happens.

    The Source ripples.

A wave of lashing burning red energy corruscates and cascades from the eternal depths of its void before entwining and dispersing to the dark emptiness of Space. Sounds and noises disrupt all communications on Hearth, loud grinding noises, wailing notes, the beating of a thousand blows, and stranger sounds still blare from even disconnected or broken speakers (The damaged Umbral Augury witnessing such a phenomenon equally). Lights flicker on and off, changing hues, exploding violently, and shaking the hull of the space station with great force. Beyond this sector of space the effects are far more subtle, some passing ships report distortions on their scanners, communicators, and onboard systems but nothing quite as drastic. The farthest reaches of space have an odd blip easily explained away by a malfunction or routine checkup. But the Masters know the truth. The Source Awakens. Throughout the stars maturated and unmaturated life forms feel a stirring within their souls. A spark of magic within them. For some it is subtle, they will go their whole lives none the wiser, and die without fully realizing the potential within them. They will attribute the incidents of heightened reflexes, sharpened willpower, and fantastical local occurences as good fortune or fate or their own local superstitions. But their bound with the Source and the universe as a whole has been awakened. Others quickly compare their lot in life with the fabled Masters of Shadow and Flame and quickly connect the dots. Some join. Some put themselves in exile. Others train themselves. In the end it matters not. The result is the same. The mystical energy that flows from the Source and through all of life is evident for even those most distant from the sacred black hole and its attendants. Those already steeped in the practices of Shadow and Flame, be they the lowliest spark to the Fire Lord themselves feel their powers enriched, and the subtle pull of a great power beating beneath. This monumentous moment is soon followed by the council of Masters of Shadow officially recognizing Antich Heaventreader as a Master of Shadow, for all of his work done in uniting the people of the galaxy, and working both subtly and overtly to ensure peace and stability wherever the Wardens of World's End can be found.

There they stood in the skyway
I heard the Core Patrol claim
And I was thinking to myself
This could be business or this could be Same
The Masters lit up a candle and showed me the way
There were voices down the cabin doors

But they just can't kill the Beast

[INT] Repair the Umbral Augury (1/2)
Reconvening from their visit to the Alysian Assembly the Masters of Shadow originally responsible for charting out and creating the designs for the Umbral Augury quickly work on repairing it. Allied construction workers are requisitioned from the Star League and Celenian subsidized corporations in an effort to accrue the proper materials and tools for the repairing of such an intricate and bolstered bastion. Sacred oils are doused, incense burned, and a ritual held in pitch darkness. None are allowed to observe such a practice. When it is finished, the Source ripples with power, a strange omen indeed for the Masters, and they roll the destiny dodecahedron for consultation.

[INT] Repair the Umbral Augury (2/2)
Parsing the messages of the Destiny Dodecahedron the Masters of Shadow separate and collect seemingly random bits of flora, metals, and strange tools from throughout Warden space to supplement the facilities damaged. Seemingly bolstered by the Source's strange emanation the Masters of Shadow craft a secure holding dungeon for further Same reclamation efforts and weave a strange mystical pattern throughout the halls and chutes of the Umbral Augury that deadens sound, light, and if some Core Patrolmen can be believed even emotion. The Umbral Augury stands once more, an Augur of dark times to come, and a watcher on the walls of the realms of life.

    - Though asked to perform an honest investigation into dishonest power mongering the Wardens are appalled by the rampant escalation of violence it lead to and sternly denounce any attempt to leverage the faulty claims of the Syndrome into a full blown war against them by the FCO and NUT.

    - All across the galaxy people are manifesting bizarre and mystical magical powers. Life forms not even in communication with widespread polities present these powers. One of the most unusual examples being a Wyvern from CEL space empathically communicating with scientists stationed to observe the moon they inhabit.

    - The Svaatyr are hailed as heroes as they arrive to Hearth in great numbers. Several of the tribes native to the Space Station offer what crafts and totems they can in deference and brace themselves for the coming violence.

    - Several taverns, inns, and fight clubs on Cricalores see a noticeable uptick in activity with the Rothuun arrival and the Minotaurs previous efforts to liberate the desert world are not forgotten as they are given a considerable discount (and mostly untouched by criminal elements).

    - Despite being cut off from efforts to work alongside the Duenem properly the Wardens know that fighting in spirit is as powerful as in flesh. Especially for those who lack the latter. Though they understand little of the strange ways of coins, stocks, and digital calculations the Duenem are well versed in such arts and their communiques with the Cosmic Couriers bolster the strained relationship between ascetic warrior monks and cold calculating businessmen.

    - The Uplift Chorus in one unified voice show their true colors in these trying times. The Wardens celebrate the tightened bond between the Tezh and the Union and pray for their continued prosperity. The efforts they make to aid the cause may not have strings attached but the Wardens do not forget. The weight of debt both military and economic may have been lifted but in its place a far heavier one is placed on every Masters shoulder. One of honor and friendship.

    - The entire tribe of Ironbound are found dead in the living quarters they had claimed for their own. Morale was at an all time low in Hearth with the news of Same attacks more vicious and aggressive than ever before. All signs point to a mass suicide, most likely to avoid the horrid fate of falling to the Same, and news of such sends a chill throughout Hearth. Silence reigns supreme.

As tighter security is implemented into the Church's positions of power a formal complaint from the Prime Minister of Urbia is filed, requesting an end to the Church's privatization of information. A general election is called by his political rivals following this questioning of the Church, and his replacement is far more accommodating of the Church's desires. (Set 10 LC Bonus: +2 Die Size to Resist Secret Actions)
    2. [Philosophy] The clearly unlawful declaration of war upon the Syndrome by the Church of Rust, though revoked following the withdrawal of Celenian hostilities, has been cause for a general revision of the Church of Iteus' views on their faith. While simple to uproot from wherever their adherents may reside, it has become apparent that their political presence within the 'Federated Churches' is an incredibly violence-craving polity. Allowing them to acquire territory directly adjacent to the Itean system was a grave error, and it is quietly resolved that Sanctum must be removed from their possession if the Church of Iteus is to maintain external security. Until then, the removal of their political influence in Good Odds is a very high priority in order to nullify their cited excuse for warmongering. (Convert Region U19 to Iteusism; Roll: 18; SUCCESS)
    3. [Philosophy] The ascent of a new Urthuun specifically not following the ways of the Church of Iteus is initially viewed as jeopardizing the Church's position among the Rothuun, but the notion is warmed up to following Aneb's statement that he would not attempt to eradicate Itean influence from his homeworld. Still, his commitment to maintaining healthy relations is still under question by many Archdeacons, and to test this the Church begins expansion into some of the Rothuun's newer acquisitions. (Convert Region Q21 to Iteusism; Roll: 14; SUCCESS)
    4. [Intrigue] The status of Sector S17 has long vexed the Church following the Revolution; some sources indicate that it has been explored, others hold no record of it at all, and the only solid data indicates that whatever population it possesses adheres to the Church of Rust. With them indicating their warmongering ways on a grander scale recently, it is decided that this region must finally be addressed and have its status settled once and for all. Any revealed data, however, is kept within the Church. For all we know, the Federated Churches could attempt a violent seizure of the region if discretion is not practiced. (Surveillance on S17; Roll: 17; SUCCESS)

    • The reappearance of Caranus at the Kronin event sends shockwaves through the Church. Though Archdeacon Provis was unable to apprehend him, it is an equal blessing that the madman's corpse is not in anyone else's hands. Vigilance will be required to address this heretic in the future.
    • The absurd diplomatic coalition befalling the Syndrome exposes the fragility of the Nephret Pact to the Church's leadership, as well as the dangers of having the rival Church of Rust directly controlling a sector bordering that of the Church. The Syndrome has been strongly advised by Church representatives to cede Region Q23 peacefully, in spite of its potential use as a location from which to study the mechanics of the Revolution.
    • Efficiency Ground, with its probable location revealed far outside the range of the Church and at the hands of other stellar powers, is declared a lost cause for the Church of Iteus to gain any real benefit from. Priorities have been shifted appropriately.
    • While before the core situation has been viewed as a peripheral concern for the Church, there has recently been a massive increase in talk of what is to be done about the Same in order to clear the core for good. It is unclear whether this is the result of closer association with the Rothuun, Caranus' lunacy, or some other more selfish concern hidden from the wider Galaxy.

    UNIFIED PUBLIC TRUST
    Regions D30, D32, E27, E29, E31, F30
    Round 11
    Transcendence Division Head Brez Y'ett
    Diplomacy: 6
    Military: 1
    Economy: 4
    Philosophy: 8
    Intrigue: 7

1 [PHILOSOPHY] Act as a mediator for the Spiral Dancers

It appears for many Spiral Dancers that the only remaining possible outlet for godly truths in spite of his personal conversion to the Nine is Brez Y’ett. The Transcendence Head still held sway among followers of the pantheons founded by the Kamasati. For his part Brez seems eager to take on the role of prophet and guardian of the old ways even as he and his followers heralded in the age of the new. Spiral Dancer refugees from the civil war in Kamasati and naked aggression of the Gelean Empire are invited to turn to UPT for guidance and compassion in these trying times. While unable to claim the leadership of the currently leaderless ideology for his part Brez does seem capable of holding the attention of the remaining Spiral Dancers and directing them towards the ends he saw fit for them.

2 [PHILOSOPHY] Convert Lyca (F30) from Open to Nine Lights Success

Nine Lights proselytists, now more experienced and educated in their gospel, return to Lyca and once more seek to impress upon the researchers and scientists of the region the revelations in areas both spiritual and scientific awaiting them should they choose to follow in the footsteps of the Sphinx Gods. Seel-Zel Namees, The Light of Knowledge looks kindly upon the pursants of objective truths and encourages the work being done to understand the Lycantrope.

3 [PHILOSOPHY] Convert G29 from Open to Nine Lights Success

Wishing to expand the influence of the Nine Lights and already looking towards the former Melfynian capital effort is made to bring the wisdom of the Nine into sector G29. Kaza-Zel Melqrrn, the Light of Judgment, is invoked to condemn the frivolous pursuits of OwO which had come to dominate nearby systems as well as the One as an oversimplified flat cosmology akin to the acceptance of pristine light without examination of its component waves through the prism of knowledge. Natives are encouraged to cast aside superstitions or nihilstic agnosticism in favor of embracing the Nine who first divined the location of Efficiency and look upon the unfolding patterns of time and reality as mortal minds looked upon measurements of space and volume.

4 [PHILOSOPHY] Probe Melfynus (H30) Success

Distraught over the destruction of the Meflynus home system and possible loss of the heavily studied World Serpent cross-bonded with Symbraum and Kombuch a small probe force is quickly assembled and launched in the direction of the formerly stable white hole. Offers of aid and redemption in the light of the Nine are broadcast from these mechanical probes and care packages intended to last years are attached for recovery by Melfynian survivors who discover the UPT probes in their space. Hopefully a complete picture of what now lay where the unique Melfynian white hole system had been could be assembled from the data picked up and broadcast back home by these mechanical goodwill journeymen.

5 [INTRIGUE] Provide a secret mission for the Spiral Dancers of Axiom

Although details are scarce, even more so for those who were not of the Spiral Dancer ideology, it seems Brez was disseminating literature and sermons suggesting the Dreamers and Dream Children of Spiral Dancer had an as of yet unrealized divine purpose. A date is set on 217523.2.1.84 for “the Ascension” though what this means or entails is kept a mystery from onlookers while adherents receive ritualistic instructions for preparation.

    6 [INTRIGUE] Secret 15

Not all that occurs within UPT is known to those who seek to listen in.

    [GENERALS]

    [RUMORS]
    • The Svaatyr are petitioned for additional Nine Lights literature. Confusion has broken out over the roles and meanings of the various lights and associated gods. Were academics guided more by Avrne-Zel Tetyr, The Light of Curiosity or Seel-Zel Namees, The Light of Knowledge? Perhaps it was Tyaam-Zel Fiiqam, The Light of Ingenuity instead? What role did Zeliiv-Zel Zanrt, The Light of Shadows play as an inherent contradiction in terms? As the fresh converts seek to spread the good news that there was actual other intelligent life out there, gods more rightly claiming the title than the Kamasati, the desire to know more and gain a deeper understanding was prevalent.
    • Brez petitions Svrrta-Zel Mrrzety to arrange for an audience between himself and Zrvesiiv-Zel Voolr, The Light of Eternity who mastered the reality warping power of the Vox. The Transcendence Head was desperate to learn more about the temporal secrets of the universe and had concocted schemes from trying to bond with a Vox body to the outlandish and no doubt scandalous suggestion he knew he dare not mention that he might bond with the Light of Eternity himself. No doubt he had not yet earned the trust to lay sight upon a Sphinx's mind directly but the desire remained. Still, to master the temporal arts of the Vox would be a great boon indeed.
    • Public revelation of data regarding Efficiency Ground vexes some within UPT who feel cheated by the now heavily obsolete data acquired through dealings with the Theocracy. These grumbling voices are met with reminders that all was not revealed to the galaxy at large and between themselves the Trust and the Theocracy were in a potentially lucrative arrangement given their shared specialties and more general intelligence. The Svaatyr and UPT were one step ahead of the other Maturated of Axiom whether it seemed like they were malcontents or terrorists to the rest of the galaxy was irrelevant so long as they stuck together.
    • The current threat facing the Wardens at World's End due to their own hubris fueled acceleration towards a childish fantasy of what power was rather than a measured approach that might have allowed them to at least repair the Umbral Augury so their allies could come save them is talked about bemusedly in UPT based publications. While the Same were obviously a threat to the galaxy the machinations of the followers of the Accord were perhaps one of the most deserving to be pressed against the Core as they were. If only the rest of the galaxy weren't so naive and gullible they would see its true protectors were not those made of nothing but bombast.
    • The Svaatyr are commended for deigning to aid the idiotic Wardens in their time of crisis brought about by their own ineptitude but the Theocracy is reminded the Wardens were unlikely to possess the bare minimal standards of civilized reciprocity and would likely make a move against the Nine Lights as readily as they took aid from them. Kaza-Zel Melqrrn, The Light of Judgement had already clearly found the fools wanting in allowing the Same to ravage their space and while the choice to abide by the soft heart of Viiqr-Zel Mrrn, The Light of Compassion was admirable it was perhaps answering foolishness with foolishness in kind for the Wardens would be unlikely to learn their lessons not to meddle in affairs beyond their comprehension if their more wizened neighbors continually saved them from the destruction they wrought upon their own heads.

    Nyx (Sector C23), C27, E25
    Domino Ophelo, Lord of Coin

    Actions
    1. [Diplomacy] Stabilize E25 using the Aeternal Emperor's Dip 9 22 - As it becomes clear that plans for another rapid turnover of space real-estate was unlikely to make itself apparent at the Galactic Expo based on feedback through satisfaction surveys effort is withdrawn from foreign policy and focuses instead on domestic concerns. Firstly, if sector E25 and C27 were to become long term assets they would need stabilization. E25 was deemed the more at risk property and as such efforts would be focused there to maintain the peace. Perhaps a deal or the naive wonderful altruism of "space comrades" on providing a refugee center for the Lopurna would free Nyxian attention to focus efforts on C27 but even if the region did rebel it was so far removed from galactic society Lord Uno remains confident he could reconquer any rebellious natives if need be without risking their seizure by other GLD equipped powers.
    2. [Diplomacy] Build the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx (1/5) - The Lopurna who had arrived in the two ancient ark ships had proved to be adaptable, an important quality to survive in Nyxian society. Their quick minds and relaxed attitudes in achieving longterm goals means they don't balk when, as a cost cutting measure, the establishment of a permanent home for them is contractually licensed to also be filmed and turned into a piece of Public Relations reel about the Guilds philanthropy. In addition the Guilds claim sponsorship prominence in naming conventions by the new settlers, with emphasis on their refugee status. In addition merchandising, distribution, and supply rights are secured for the Guilds to carry and sell as necessary to ensure continued "financially responsible operation" of the Center.
    3. [Economy] Build the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx (2/5) - With a fair amount of the budget negotiated safely into allocations for the important matters of marketing and branding opportunities attention turns to the matter of actually establishing a new home for the Lopurna. As a cost cutting measure the two ark ships they arrived in, still functional if highly modified after all these generations, are selected to serve as the centerpiece to this new colony as an orbital component. While surveys of planets were analyzed a retrofit of the two ark ships, Prosperity & SalvationTM, "translated" and trademarked by the Nyxians, are headed by Grymlan Farseekers. The rambunctious engineers are instructed merely to apply repairs and upgrades to the old ships but Lopurna engineers complain of excessive Grymlan tinkering. Nevertheless, the job gets done and much of the PR footage of Lopurna trying not to throttle a Farseeker are left on the cutting room floor (only to be released later on a special edition uncut and unfiltered documentary on the making of the documentary)
    4. [Economy] Build the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx (3/5) - A planet has been found in Nyx space whose atmosphere is capable of readjustment to fit Lopurnan biology and Prosperity & SalvationTM are moved into geosynchronous orbit with the planet. From here work begins and operates from to transport the angel wing sheets of stretch-your-value-through-the-4th-dimension building materials to the surface where a simple colony is established with a generator of sufficient power tapping into the geothermal energy of the planet's core. With the basics of walls, power, and plumbing set down the first permanent building is established, a gift shop and company store that sold all manner of memorabilia relating to the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx including the regular, special edition, and director's cut of the documentary about the documentary about the Center.
    5. [Economy] Build the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx (4/5) - A few friendly business interests from E25 are subcontracted to design and construct the actual residencies to be inhabited by the Lopurna. The neighborhoods of the colony are designed around the idea of universal pocket factories possessed by the residents. The handheld pocket sized devices would obviously need regular software and occasional firmware upgrades as would the neighborhood. As part of a negotiated contract the foreign interests from E25 are given a great deal of rental power to come into effect in five years when the Nyx discontinue the current funding levels being directed into this particular investment. This arrangement will ensure the Lopurna continue to be provided with outstanding service in a futuristic state of the art town for generations.
    6. [Economy] Build the Lopurna Refugee Center Sponsored by Nyx (5/5) +1 Buyout/round as per R8 Opener- After a great deal of investment and hard work by many a contractor the Refugee Center on the newly re-named planet of Charity is complete. Lord Uno himself makes an appearance at the ribbon cutting ceremony commending the perseverance and fortitude of the Lopurnan people and inviting Princess Narya Velure of the Dregisles Lopurna to come and visit this colony of her cousins as well as any curious to see the great magnanimous generosity of the Guilds. The Lopurnans primarily seem happy to have a place to call their own (for the most part) and the fulfillment of such an arrangement would no doubt only grow their status as economic actors even if the results of the PR campaign remained unproven.

    • The failure to garner much interest for another space real estate deal so soon after the previous, and especially so soon as the Ndoda had snatched the prize from its buyer, leads to prioritization of the Lopurna issue. The Ndoda are chastised for enacting war against a fellow GLD power who had received a rightfully won deed to Lot 5, sector D24, from the Nyxians who had won the right to the region through conquest of the simple triclopean natives. It was one thing to crush tribal savages and nationalist barbarians but quite another to engage in war among the chosen civilized few selected by Guardian to carry on the Caller's legacy. Though they admit absolutely 0 liability and still expected the rest of their payment from the Rothuun the minotaurs do receive condolences for their loss.
    • Lord Uno and his court of Guildsmen are hopeful the charity work with the Lopurna will help improve public image for the Nyx in galactic politics even if it could be viewed as a cynical move to gain yet more economic power over Axiom. Focusing on the betterment of intelligent life was not the exclusive purview of communists and utopians so long as the right incentives were implemented.

    The Undying Empire
Her Excellency, Jeniza Razahk, Regent of Amanyk and High Protector

    Actions:
    Rolls.
1: [Diplomacy] Finalise claim on G7. Success.
Though the Conclave is gone, an alliance with the Void Disciples is still viewed as necessary for the future survival of the Tal-Amanyn, if only to secure that border from unseen aggression. The galaxy is after all a treacherous place...

2: [Philosophy] Without waiting for permission from the Kronin government, a funerary and salvage fleet crosses the border. The dead are recovered from the derelict hulks of the Tal-Amanyn's warships which themselves are towed back to Amanyk. All that remains is a field of crystalline debris.

    3: [Military] Raise one unit.
The danger of further attacks by the Kronin cannot be ignored despite assurances from the new King-General that no such thing will occur. His predecessor was after all notorious for reneging on agreements. As such the shipyards and forges of Amanyk are put into overdrive to repair and replace the recent losses and a large scale recruitment drive is put underway.

    4: [Military] Raise one unit.
Despite concerns about the stability of the super structure, a vast quantity of Dark Energy is fed into the Infinity Forge. The automated systems manage to produce a single battlecruiser, the Forge of Empires, before the ancient power conduits burn out and the Infinity Forge goes dark.

    5: [Military] Raise one unit.
The call is sent out to Zataris, along with up to date technical specifications, and their shipyards get to work building a large quantity of fighters as the Navigator Council starts recruiting pilots.

    6: [Military] Raise one unit.
At long last, the fleet of Cadmos has been outfitted with Gravity Latch Drives and it is inducted into the Imperial Navy in a grand and sombre ceremony.

When the High Protector and her government hear of the Eradicators' offer they simply laugh.

An apology is given to the Kronin in regards to difficulties with the communications systems on Amanyk these past two years. They'll get right onto their message as soon as they manage to break the Conclave's diplomatic encryption protocols.

The assistance from the Droccen is accepted with smiles, though many are aware that behind the scenes the High Protector and the Archjudiciary view the support poorly as too little, too late.

There is much muttering among the hierarchy of the new government about the duplicity of the Kombuch. They failed to help the Tal-Amanyn in their hour of need despite vital resources being diverted to assist them. Many are unsure of how to proceed with them at this point, though Ambassador to the Kombuch, Azric Rey-Vandriss, urges a properly considered approach.

    Spoiler: On the Nine Lights
    Show

On the whole, the Nine Lights holds a very light touch on the day to day lives of its worshippers. For the most part, those born in Svaatyr require no book or checklist on how to act passed down by the church, for these teachings are woven into the very fabric of their education and society. However, question raised by the UPT do present the valid point that those not raised in such conditions, who converted later in life, may require more concise clarification.

It should be prefaced that what follows is not a list of divine proclamations. The Nine, by their natures, leave mortals to their own devices. Were they to take an active hand in shaping the course of civilisation, it would negate the very reason they created it. Individual will is important, which is why the church prefers to guide than command.

Regardless of this, The Nine are beings of immense wisdom, and their primary traits are worth emulating. Equally, it is on the very rarest of occasions that one deems to suggest a course of action. They leave ample space to refuse, but to do so would be folly, knowing full well as the Nine do the full ramifications of any given choice. Their titles are self-explanatory, but some cultural nuance appears to be lost in translation, so for expediency’s sake they shall be clarified here. All Nine are possessed of incredible foresight, but each has been shown to apply it in subtly different ways.

Viiqr-Zel Mrrn, The Light of Compassion, has been and remains the most active of The Nine. More so than any other, she believes that wisdom should be used not only for the benefit of oneself, but others too. To allow tragedy that was seen and could have been prevented is little better than bringing that tragedy to be with your own hands. Fully four times has she directly interceeded - most famously (and likely against the will of the other eight), she revealed the existence of the isle now known as Viiqres to its nearest neighbours while it suffered terribly from natural disasters, and petitioned them to send aid.

To Tyaam-Zel Fiiqam, The Light of Ingenuity, a future that is likely or obvious is not the same as one that is good. It is a commonly held belief that it was Fiiqam who suggested the creation of the Nolkir, though he of course remains silent on the matter. Regardless of his own actions, Fiiqam teaches to not settle for a course simply because it is easy or obvious, and to at least consider any option, no matter how unlikely. It was his single proclamation that led to the immediate ban on fossil fuels not long after their discovery - most believe this was reminder to not take the easy route, but with the benefit of hindsight others suspect he personally disliked the long term impact.

Oft considered the twin brother of Mrrn, Kaza-Zel Melqrrn, The Light of Judgement, holds that those who act without wisdom should not be permitted to do so. For this reason, when councel is sought on a choice, it is usually presented before him, for he is far more willing to show displeasure at a poor choice. It is equally for this reason that he teaches to consider well the negative ramifications of a choice, beyond simply what can be gained. He has interceeded twice - it was his word that ended the reign of the mad tyrant Hrrtya, inciting a coup that was near absolute in its support.

Zeliiv-Zel Zanrt, The Light of Shadows, could also potentially be described as a goddess of the hunt, though her quarry is secrets rather than flesh. Though none of the Nine are known for their direct answers, Zanrt is particularly infamous for the complexity of the riddles she poses. Knowledge is a thing to be earned, or else it holds little meaning, though it should also not be begrudged to those who have done so. As such, she teaches to both seek and protect secrets in equal measure.

Zelzyr-Zel Lrnaas, The Light of Dawn is perhaps the most muddied by translation, for a less literal translation of Zelzyr would be hope. Lrnaas, more than any other, looks towards the brightest futures. No matter the darkness, there is a future in which dawn shall break through it. Despite this, she does not encourage complacency, nor willing blindness to darkness. Instead, she teaches that the brighter future should be sought, and then worked to bring to fruition. Though she has no direct interventions of record, she is known to fly overhead in the darkest of times, allowing her presence alone to act as a reminder that the future is not lost.

The most passive of The Nine, Seel-Zel Namees, The Light of Knowledge teaches that the acquisition of knowledge is its own reward. More importantly, he teaches that that which is known should not be forgotten, for knowledge wasted is worse even than knowledge passed over. His personal repository of knowledge is unfathomable, for he has forgotten nothing in the untold aeons of his being. From his position at the very heart of Svaatyr, this knowledge can be bought, but only at the expansion of his mental collection.

To Vanrt-Zel Sonara, The Light of Certainty, no amount of foresight or wisdom will aid those without the will to act upon it. While foresight is a gift, it carries with it a second edge, and Sonara reminds to not allow wisdom to fall beneath the churning waters of hesistation and indescicion. Never has he directly suggested a course of action, but many instances exist in history of great leaders visited on the eve of a turning point of fate, and always with the same simple question “Are you sure?”. To both weal and woe does he speak this. All that matters is the strength to press ahead.

Percieved the youngest of the Nine, Avrne-Zel Tetyr, The Light of Curiosity is in many ways the other side of Namees’ coin, the active to his passive. She ever seeks the new, and yearns to know where the light touches when it slips beyond the horizon. She has visited every world Svaatyr has added, for her eyes crave to see the future first hand. Perhaps knowing this, it was not to Svaatyr itself that the message to build the capsule was given, but Tetyr, leading her to make her first proclamation. To follow the current that had come to their shores. That Svaatyr would have done so anyway was besides the point.

First among equals, Zrvesiiv-Zel Voolr, The Light of Eternity’s foresight is without peer. No future, no potentiality exists beyond his gaze. Every past that never was, every present that could have been, every future that yet could be. All are his, and his alone. His was the mind that unveiled the mechanisms of time itself, and what other mind could understand it so completely? To truly emulate such a mind is impossible, but his distant gaze can still teach, to not allow a single potentiality to consume the mind, to ever be watchful and prepared for any outcome.

Though some questioned the wisdom of aiding the WWE against the Same, it was patently obvious they were woefully unprepared for the assault. Though both compassion and a desire to prove Svaatyrn superiority were present, both paled compared to the knowledge gained from actual combat with the Same, especially in a situation where Svaatyr itself was not immediately at risk.

    Round Twelve... Loading...
The below happens between Galactic Dates 217520.0.0.81 - 2175022.0.0.80
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
    Good luck!

    • Occupation - and blocking of an action type - of a Stellar Power capital that has a Liege will also block the Liege’s ability to interact in the Vassal’s Zone of Influence for the blocked action type. For instance, if the Occupier choses to block the Vassal’s Economy score, then the Liege cannot use the Vassal’s Zone of Influence for Buyouts (but could still use their own ZoI modifiers).

    Growth!

While not quite the industry leader like the Nyxians, Ndoda, or Etherites Celestia Enterprises had managed to wedge themselves into a niche as far go traders with branded presence throughout Axiom far and away from their corporate headquarters. This economic approach is solidified as a guiding principle to the Celestia brand and added to the corporate charter as an official amendment to policy. All future CEOs would remember the principles laid down shortly after Maturation of casting a wide net deep into the markets of the galaxy to ensure continued profitability for the company. (D10 used; CLS makes Surplus Brand Recognition CI Permanent!)

Securing an alternate source of GLD implants is considered vital for Sunbream Sovereignty. Thus, the Sunbream Confederacy sells an enormous quantity of Vapor Misplacement guns to commission the construction of a floating station built to accommodate a wide variety of ships on the surface of the Spacific. They also send a message in the direction of the Federated Churches' “Necropolis” inviting them to inhabit it, assuming that a race of diverse and ancient undead ships brought back to life by surgical ability would be easily able to manage GLD implants. (D5 used; DCN establishes an Embassy with FCO!)

Eager to secure the peace that had allowed both their realms to prosper the Mier Formica formalize diplomatic contact with the Droccen ensuring avenues of formal dialogue could be readily opened between the two powers. (D5 used; MFM establishes an Embassy with DCC!)

(D5 used; LSD establishes an Embassy with OwO!)

A string of rapid economically facilitated annexations see the Etherite Trade League borders grow more than twofold in a span of two galactic years. With support from the evolving Vilari Star League and plenty of their own diplomatic acumen the Etherites come to possess a great stretch of stellar territory in a short amount of time.

Efforts by the Union and Dipanan Collected Nations arriving more than a decade after its discovery by Celestia Enterprises at last complete the unfinished Arcane Radiation Harvester enabling a protective shield to be implemented over the green star orbiting saturn sized ecumenopolis. While a full decade of irradiation and underground living has severely stunted the societal progress of the affected it appears a number of the nascent underground civilizations had sought to preserve some semblance of their aboveground heritage and are eager to work with and thank their rescuers and volunteers from these grateful communities seek to join their saviors as aids in preserving peace as well as acting as advocates for their homeworld in the wider galaxy. The Harvester itself proves highly efficient at converting the radiation absorbed from the arcane green star into a potent but volatile fuel source well suited for fueling the occasional non-organic survey vessel sent to probe deep space. The spread of the Star League's influence has been accompanied by the slow acceptance of the Vilari philosophy of tolerance. Now presiding over a cultural melange from a dozen different worlds, scholars both with and without the Star League begin to gather to argue the finer points of the Way of Tides. It is a sign of the growing harmony surrounding Vilari space, but it is not the only sign. On Raphos, a shuttle quietly deposits Jeanne of Ybarra at Ren, the largest of the Vilari Reef Cities. The Gelean woman descends in fear, for she is the first alien to set foot on the blasted planet, but she ascends burdened with revelation. (P10 used; VSL organizes the Way of the Tides! A roaring fire, busy kitchen, and world class training grounds makes the lodge hugely popular among the well to do hunters and mercenaries of nearby sectors with some even coming from distant corners of the galaxy to partake in the unparalleled amenities available for the rich and well armed. Predator himself seems emboldened by his political victory to achieve a personal desire and once again petitions his Formican Queen to now turn attentions to properly stocking the lodge. Predator notes his continued risk and sacrifice of life and limb on behalf of Aptinoma in addition to loyal service as her vassal warrants availability of good food and drink and petitions the queen to gain control of food and alcohol of sufficient quantity as to satisfy the Lodge. Once again the general, now quite popular with non-Formican members of the officer corps of the Formican navy, intimates that failure to deliver could lead to trouble between the sovereign of JactGrond and the Formican empress. (MFM & DNF complete Predator’s requested Galactic Hunter's Lodge 5/5 granting the owner of E15 +1 on Tactical Maneuvering rolls! In the strange arcanely positioned star system of the Dreamscape outside the bounds of the artificially arranged planets in orbit of a green star a hole rips in space. Occurring simultaneously sector V18 an identical rip in space appears. The rip is large, able to fit fleets of ships if so desired, and appears through testing done by UPT and FCO scientists to be, at the moment, stable. It is swiftly ascertained that this tear in timespace was some form of wormhole connecting these two distant and seemingly unrelated regions of space. Just what this meant or what those with access to the wormhole would do remained a mystery.
(A (possibly stable?) wormhole opens between V18 and the Dreamscape (D32)! War!

Having observed other stellar powers' previous encounters with the Same, it's clear that when outmaneuvered they tend to retreat into previously unaffected regions rather than fighting until the end, an unacceptable outcome given that this results in incomplete victories that spread the containment breach and require pursuit to eliminate the threat. As a possible countermeasure, the Auroran Ideals Corporation draws on previous Celenian research and speculative weaponry with Haethalian Rubies as focusing lenses for lasers, combining this innovation with their flagship energy conversion weapon products to create extremely long-ranged variations ideal for picking off retreating foes. (M10 used; GLR introduces EC Lances technology! Slot: Ranged, Effect: +1 to battle rolls, +1 to enemy combat losses on victory, Requirement: "Energy Conversion Weaponry" (and associated Resource), and Gemstones)

(M10 used! NUT introduces Sublight Thrusters! Slot: Engines, Effect: +2 Tactical Maneuvering rolls, Requirement: Fuel)

Connectivity was a major part of the Kombuch experience and the mind linking psionic fungi had found their connectivity was an unusual edge among those who did not practice psionics or possess highly developed cybernetic technology. The Kombuch had found linking minds to serve many valuable purposes not least of which was the addition of high level military commanders on the battlefield. The more minds the merrier when a consensus could be rapidly reached between the keen battle worn minds of formidable tacticians and warriors. While the particulars of the Kombuch linking of mind unnerves some outside the Bureaucratic Collective many believe the successes of the fungus could be accomplished through a battle meditative discipline precipitated on opening the minds of general’s to psionic or similar instant level interaction states of connectivity. (M10 used! KBC introduces Gestalt Warmind! Slot: Logistics, Effect: Additional generals can be assigned to a battle and grant a +2 bonus to maneuvering rolls for each. These generals do not suffer loss rolls unless the force is wiped out., Requirement: Refreshments)

In what could possibly lead to confusing with the Nyxians nearby an Admiral Nix is named to represent Kronin mettle upon the battlefield. (M5 used; KRO creates a Military 7 General, “Admiral Nix”)

Tra Gutri was something of a well known name when it came to the Lyraen Dominion and his appointment to a formal leadership position within the armed forces was hardly surprising to those with an eye towards Lyraen politics. (M5 used; LYR creates a Military 7 General, “Tra Grutri”)

Departing his life as a posh and glamorous celebrity Proxos is accepted into the Lyraen hierarchy to take up a life as a daring and glamorous military officer and suitor to the Luminary herself. Of concern to “Generalisimo” Proxos is the ancient rather quiet red luminary of V28 but more pressingly is the matter of the young Luminary being held captive by Same v0.08 in sector L18. The dashing general wishes to see this tortured stellar soul released from the prison of the thrice damned Same and given the opportunity to recover amongst her own. (LYR gains a Military 7 General, “Proxos”)

While Markath Frostfur had sided against his former ally Virtash Splitskull in his struggle with Aneb earning a position of privilege as King of Thurtal Urthuun Two-Gun had only barely won his struggle against Virtash and there were many who called into question Aneb’s qualification as the strongest of the minotaurs. Markath’s heroic legacy built up in spite of his traitorous ambition made him a prominent name in circles challenging Aneb’s claim to the throne. When Markath receives an official appointment to the role of general his ambitions of Urthuun grow ever closer and the (un)timely capture of Aneb by the Commandant opens to door to Markath. Swiftly Markath decries Aneb as a lost cause not worth negotiation for and demands the Rothuun leadership recognize him as the most viable candidate to be the next Urthuun. (M5 used; RGH creates a Military 10 General, “Markath Frostfur”; {CHOICE} General Frostfur wishes to be Urthuun Frostfur! To accept Urthuun Frostfur wins RGH will lose their Military 10 General, but gain a Leader that has a Military 10 score and 1s in all other stats. No inheritance bonuses or stat gains will transfer over from Round 11 {OR} Another Rothuun can be chosen to be Urthuun and Markath forced to remain a General. New ruler rolls stats like normal gaining stat boosts from Round 11’s actions. Markath will remain a General but spreads Unrest in the capital!)

When Same v0.15 drones appear within sensor range outside the Source itself, that great and awful black hole at the center of Warden-space, it is as the many stories told by the Wardens told it to be. Wardens, Masters of Shadow and Flame, and the allied forces of Axiom opposed to the Core’s deadly fleet of destruction bots. Antich Heaventreader, only recently fully recognized as a Master of Shadow, was prepared to defend his home with his last breath, and unfortunately for the Wardens and Hearth it seemed this was what was required. The fighting was intense but the Same came like a metal tide that ebbed and flowed without an end. The Source was a powerful supernatural aid but the Same appeared like a supernatural force all their own drones moving about the battlefield in such tightly coordinated patterns capable of rapid splitting, reshaping, and growing as to be like a vicious ocean that washed over dead and disabled ships to repair their own damage. Locusts in steel, the Same came with an unbridled intensity and though the Wardens and their Svaatyr allies fought bravely the Same pressed them back to the Umbral Augury, lynchpin of the defense only recently repaired, just inside the gravity of the Source. Unwilling to see the Augury suffer catastrophic damage again Antich concocts a plan to lure the Same closer to the Source and force the drones into the gaping black maw. While the new Master of Shadow assures his comrades he can manage this trick and escape Anitch is ultimately forced to sacrifice himself to achieve his plan. The wound inflicted on the Same by Antich’s sacrifice causes the Same to begin to draw back though the decimated state of the defense force hamstrings any ability to pursue but the Umbral Auguary’s maintenance does discourage the Same from sticking around indefinitely. The Same withdraw slowly stripping any planetary body or satellite of value on their way back into Core-space. The decimation of the region and loss of their leader sees many Wardens grow disillusioned with the idea of destroying the Same threat. Antich was one of their best and now he was dead on the path of this crusade against an enemy that seemed nearly endless.

While the Commandant loses this latest battle in his ongoing war with the Rothuun he refuses to give up the fight! Having managed to arrange his Miracle Men in the vault-like bowels of the space station he called home in such a way as to make a trap for the incoming Rothuun forces. His trap catching the Urthuun himself was a welcome surprise and when the Commandant at last fled his bastion via a jury-rigged-GLD capable escape vehicle he took the Urthuun with him. Naturally the first place to go was a Celeanian naval port. Celes was a stellar power known for its respect for legitimate legal military procedure and they would most certainly be willing to aid the Commandant in coming to terms with the Rothuun. The remaining Rothuun forces secure the sector of space formerly claimed by the Commandant while politics turn back on Taurina I to determine the next Urthuun.

    Discovery!

Lyrae’s assassination rocked the galaxy. To kill off a political opponent is nothing new, but to slay the vessel of a soul of a starborn Luminary? Unheard of! Even if Lyrae did find a new host, Rii Lyrae was only the first to be attacked during a rebel strike, and many more died after her; the question, though, is was it just “rebels” or something more? The Syndrome and the Federated Church of Origin’s End ask it - discreetly - and determine answers: Several anti-Lyrae factions have coalesced in their displeasure at autocratic rule by a god-queen to form a Rebel Force based in and around the Glory Star system. Within this Rebel Force, there are militants who want the Lyraen Stellar Domain to focus on outward expansion and conquest without regard to the privileged imperial allies aligned with by Lyrae, anti-theists who want ‘the self proclaimed sun goddess’ to be seen as the blight on the universe they feel she truly is, and other more moderate groups who have their own reasons for hating what Lyrae has come to represent. Calling themselves the Anti-Luminary League, the rebellion is trying to expand into more region of LSD sectors, and is even looking to make connections with other Stellar Powers for aid, including the Ninurtine Empire, the Republic of Celes, and even the Rothuun Galactic Holdings! (SYN and FCO investigates Rii Lyrae assassination! The Anti-Luminary League is responsible! The Kombuch were deeply curious as to the cause of this mysterious mist transforming gourds and other plantlife into carnivorous ambulatory terrors. Research acquired from UPT relating to Lycantropes guides the fungal colonies to investigate a number of avenues of explanation eventually managing to uncover a vast root network on the affected planet which seemed to have evolved into its own sort of lifeform beyond and yet of the component plants contributing to its existence. This plant gestalt had apparently been developing adaptations that would allow it access to further nutrients, the result of which had been the mist and its effects upon flowering portions of the gestalt’s component pieces. When contacted by the Kombuch the Mist Source, as the gestalt is informally referred to lacking a name for itself, expresses a desire to seize full control of the region and belief the Kombuch would aid it in doing so. The Mist Source seeks to achieve a deal with the Bureaucratic Collective, cooperate with the gestalt and allow it to spread beyond its planet more fully to the entire sector of space it occupied absorbing all plant life and consuming animal life for sustenance. Doing so would endear the botanical mind to the Kombuch enough to entertain integration and to make available its mists to the Kombuch while focusing on Blister Leaf harvesting more domestically. Alternatively with access to the Mist Source itself the Kombuch could put an end to the mist’s spread with one fell swoop allowing the Kombuch easy seizure of the Blister Leaf farms left untended and leaving the region vulnerable to military annexation with the elimination of its pumpkin protectors. (KBC completes Discover Mist Source in H4 5/5! {CHOICE} KBC may take an Economy and Diplomacy action to accept the Mist Source’s request changing H4’s resource from Blister Leaves [Great] to Verdant Mist [Minor] and gaining a claim on the region OR KBC may take a Military action to destroy this viral gestalt consciousness destroying all 4 local units and gaining TP 1 of Blister Leaves!)

CORRECTING GM ERROR from Round 8

Evangelists of OwO quickly find that this purple mist is no ordinary gas but a hive mind community of spores, protists and fungi that for a unified conscious across the planets atmosphere. Closer examination of the surface reveals that much of the planets water has been polluted by waste from the mist, creating a strange Aerobic sludge. CORRECTING GM ERROR from Round 10

Syndrome bioships slip into unexplored space touched by the borders of their Rothuun allies and the mechanical Duenem roaming the numerous star systems in the sector scanning for points of interest. In one particular dull blue star system the Syndrome fleet detects an emergency broadcast that leads them to a massive space station facility which is revealed to be a cryogenics lab stocked with the frozen forms of over five hundred thousand “residents” who all appear to be of the same unknown alien lineage. Curiously the station itself appears to be automated and still functioning at eighty five percent efficiency. The station informs its Syndrome discoverers that it has been operational for over sixteen thousand galactic cycles and urges the Syndrome to thaw its occupants for reintegration into modern society after ascertaining the Syndrome had absolutely zero knowledge of an organization known as “the Purestrain.” In addition to communication with the Syndrome the station also makes available its dispensary of “Crisper Pills” curious capsules capable of cold-based preservation of living tissue. Dawnstar explorers find themselves surveying a verdant sector filled with life supporting star systems, though none of them of notable for producing any greatly intelligent species. On a system of three moons winged space predators preyed on small space whale adjacent prey animals. On another planet Shriekers, as the Dawnstar called them, horse-sized bipedal raptor-kin with an ear-splitting battle-call roamed the planet like ancient tales of horses on the Great Plains. Elsewhere Haragors, appearing to be selectively bred bear-elephants, were found to have hide so tough as to be largely immune to energy weapons. At last one one system near the center of the sector has a great ancient monument broadcasting the great and terrible wonders of “Ibx” who created the species now inhabiting this sector of space. While the Dawnstar Dominion had no idea who or what Ibx was the species left behind were certainly of interest given the growing propensity for war beast use in stellar combat. (DSD Expeditions X8 which contains a [Good] resource of [Terrors of Ibx] & an Open LC!)

Dawnstar scanners pick up signs of a megastar that once was, but is no more. It's heat and light long since dead, in some ancient supernova. What is left in the sector is dust and free floating asteroids, and not much else. Except for the minor amount to power to ship engines, no local pull of gravity keeps the place tethered; the only lights are the distant stars that mourn their once sibling's long ago passing. (DSD Expeditions X10 and discovers an Empty Region!)

New to the game of galactic exploration, scions of the first tree journey far into the unknown. What they find is an incredibly advanced society that spends most of it time within a virtual paradise. Explorers in depth reports indicate that near 80% of the society is within this virtual world at any given point, while the remaining 20% tend to their fellows bodies held in stasis while “plugged in” using comfy liquid crystal blankets. (TFT Inquests L30 which contains a [Minor] resource of [Liquid Crystal Blankets] & an Open LC!)

Disciples of the first tree have reached a series of habitable planetoids surrounding a red dwarf. Each of these planets are coated with a variety of violet plants. One in particular plant, venerated by the grey alien natives, is a variety of violet mustard with reported prophetic properties. For centuries greys from across the sector have made pilgrimages to this system in a vain attempt to divine the futures of their secular affairs. (TFT Inquests K31 which contains a [Good] resource of [Violet Mustard], an Open LC, and 2 Units of Grey Pilgrims!)

After a trying voyage probes sent by the first tree find a desert world home to a once thriving sublight civilization. After months of investigating the desert sand, braving giant beasts and glass rain, the survey probes find a vault filled with records. While most are fairly benign, others describe what can only be described as dark rituals describing the sacrifice of hundreds of millions. The datakeeping and recording software are as incredibly advanced as the details stored within are horrifying. (TFT Probes J28 which contains a [Minor] resource of [Sublight Tablets] & an Open LC!)

The original home system of the Melfynians is gone. Just… gone. The new “main” solar system is the next closest one, and what remains of the Melfynians have been working hard to move themselves and what chunks of Melfynians Alloys debris remain to their new home. TP#3 is gone.] Unified public trust vessels come across what appears to be the system containing the former Melfyian capital. Unfortunately its seems all that remains of the Melfyian solar system is a debris field surrounding a brown dwarf, drifting lazily through the cosmos. The few Melfyians remaining have scattered to nearby systems, periodically returning to scavenge alloy’s in the hope that their home will one day reappear. (UPT Probes H30 which contains a [Minor] resource of [Melfynian Alloys] & an Open LC!)

After months of effort Union diplomats find a strange spheroid orbiting a red giant. Further inspection reveals, the sphere to be a massive space station built to be the greatest paperwork processing center in all Axiom. Rumour has it that this station has more than 5 bureaucrats per square meter. Of course not all is fair in paradise, the local spell checker society has been under siege from a splinter group derisively called the grammar nazis. Tensions regarding the Oxford Comma threaten to boil into an all out war between the influential copy editors. (UNN Inquests U3 which contains a [Good] resource of [Spell Checkers], an Open LC, and 3 Units of Grammarists!)

Alyssian explorers tepidly explore the former capital of the Kamasati pantheon. As they get closer to their former rivals, Alyssian scout ships occasionally come across the corpses of these so called gods. Autospies of all of them reveal a myriad of red tumors pulsating with a sickly green arcs. Any telepaths aboard develop the very same red tumors within days and claim to speak for the Awoken. Hours after the tumours manifest, the affected psychic suffers bouts prolonged agony, seizures, blinding rage and psionic power incontinence until they their consciousness fades becoming merely enraged shells of psionic power. Named psionic rabies by the Alyssians, an inspection of the former capital reveals this disease has critically endangered the gods. Unfortunately scholars have yet to confirm how the malady spreads. (EAA Inquests N6 which contains a [Good] resource of [Ascendant Seeds], a Spiral Dancer LC, and 4 Units of Awoken Mad Gods!)

Members of the Alyssian Assembly journey into the unknown and find the unexpected. What sensors had indicated at first to be a planet populated by an apparently peaceful sublight civilization was in fact a planet inhabited by a warrior race known as the Thraxians. Half machine half catfish creatures who lived in the underground rivers and lakes of their homeworld the Thraxians were one of two races inhabiting this notable nearby world. The Thraxians spit acid to destroy and reshape matter to their whims, to the point of melting the cities of their enemies with Thraxian digestive fluid, in order to contort it into a monument or their dark gods. The Thraxians appear to have spread throughout this sector of space quite widely in spite of their lack of GLD and the planet they were originally detected on was but one of their more recent conquests whose native species were still treated as vassals and had not been melted down in service to the dark gods. (EAA Inquests N8 which contains a [Great] resource of [Thraxian Digestive Fluid], an Open LC, and 5 Units of Thraxian Warriors!)

Information leaks about the following regions…

    The Duenem

    Region R14+R16+S15+S13+Q15

    Round 11
    Actions:
    1. [1] [Diplomacy] Claim Q13 with Trade League (2/2)
With the monopoly on the local industy, it is not long before the residents can see the full benefits of being a part of Duenem space. They even get voting status for Taskmasters!
      [2][Diplomacy] Stabalise Q15 17
Having been dominated by the Same, the remaining residents are incredibly wary of other synthetics claming to now own the area. But as the Duenem actively drove the Same out, and have already offered aid and investment in the local economy, these fears quickly die down for the most part.

      [3] [Economy]Gift Q13 TP3 to OWO using Embassy.
Having optained the Grymlans trade post to facilitate control over Q13, Mint arranges as a show of thanks to return it, especially as they heavily depend on the local fuel.

      [4] [Economy] Buyout Q15 Resource TP1 (Mirror Steel) 17
With the unique qualities of the local metals, the Duenem hastily arrange to acquire the local supply. With control and using the new universal translators to communicate effecitvely, the acquisition goes by fairly smoothly.

      [5] [Military] Raise a unit

      [6] [Military] Raise a unit
With both the Same and another Revolution as a looming threat, the Duenem military is boosted significantly in order to ensure it can remain sovreign. But with large Empires forming larger coalitions, it is becoming apparant that being non-aligned can only last so long.

    Actions Rolls

    [Military] "Invade" R18
With 1 unled unit, equipped with Energy Conversion Weapons and Enhanced Microplating
The Syndrome send a scientific and military presence to R18 in order to aid the station in thawing out its inhabitants and to learn more about this fascinating ancient species and culture.

    [Military] The Paragon Project 3/5
The project continues at full speed. The first generations of Paragons are born early in the year, having been conceived late in the previous year. The generation is marked by strange mutations, birth defects, and other irregularities, but do have traces of abnormal power as well. Some Paragons of this generation are able to breathe underwater, generate electricity, or have increased psychic power, but all that survive long are malformed in some way.

    [Military] The Paragon Project 4/5
Weaving a stronger base of Iteus' DNA provides a marked reduction in the Paragons' harmful mutations, and increases the strength of their beneficial ones. They can fly, survive in the vacuum of space, and more, but the strength of their powers seems proportional to their deformity.

    [Military] The Paragon Project 5/5
    Effect: +1 Unit Cap (approved)
With the third generation, the Paragon template has stabilized significantly. All Paragons bear some sort of mark which makes them obvious at a glance, but otherwise are normal for their species. Their powers range from telepathy to electrical control to the ability to survive unharmed in any environment short of a sun's corona.

    [Diplomacy] Finalize Claim on R20
After the Syndrome quietly reached out to the energy beings inhabiting R20, they found them receptive to joining the Protectorates. An accord is soon signed.

    [Intrigue] Secret Action (REDACTED-14)
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.

    Nonactions

Support Conversions of all owned LCs to the Church of Iteus.

    News and Rumors
    • After hearing that the Union was aiming at attacking the ANE base nearby, a frenzy of messages are sent from the Combine for them to call off their attack stating that the Combine has things well enough in hand, and will be dealing with the base in their own way. That should the Union decide to press the attack, the Combine is not responsible for any catastrophic injuries resulting from any faults in their prototype targeting systems. Thankfully someone was listening enough to catch the hint, and the assault was called off.
    • UPT is warned that forcefully moving Starpowers without their express consent is generally considered a bad thing. While it might be interesting to see a three way slug out between CEL, NUT and RGH, openly moving them whie extorting others in regards to this shift, is likely to earn the UPT and their allies the animosity of many Starpowers in the Galaxy.
    • Spoiler: Combine Corporations
      Show

      Corporations of the Combine

The government of the Grymlan Combine consists of several corporations that both coordinate with, and against, each other in deciding how the efforts of the Grymlan people are applied. The Corporations are patrons and financial backers to research, production, and distribution groups typically within a certain field of Grymlan life and their internal structure represents the same general structure of the Combine at large.

As such, Leadership among the Grymlans is based on election, with canidates chosen both on their stance with the indivdual corperation and the needs of the Grymlan people as a whole. Unsurprisingly, corruption is not uncommon among Grymlans leaders. Corruption is expected by the general populace as long as it has reasonable limits. Leaders are expected to have their own personal projects they're working on as long as they meet the needs of the Grymlan people. Given the inquisitive nature of Grymlans as a whole, an the high profile nature of the leadership, Grymlan politicians tend to have Cat and Mouse games between themselves that the populace tends to keep abreast of as a form of entertainment. Should such a leader be deemed insufficent, whether by incompetence, corruption, or changing needs of the people, they can be voted out of their position by the Corporations under them (though the state in which they are voted out might dictate the terms of their severance).

      Some Corporations of the Combine.
      • Foodstuff Solutions: Headed by Abrigal Dirtpaw, Foodstuff Solutions represents many agricultural interests in the Combine. Their farms provide food to feed the Grymlan people as well as providing other materials to the other Corporations. Their labs work to improve existing crops while at the same time they are always on the look out for new potential products to grow and experiment with.
      • Max Zappyzap Projections: Lead by Dhaka Sparkthrower, Max Zappyzap Projections is the closest thing the Grymlans have to a security Corporation. In prior years they were an arms manufacturer who designed energy casters for Grymlan ships to protect them against space debris. They also did research into high energy release weapons that largely went unused (I mean of course you gotta set one off just to make sure it works, we didn't need that asteroid anyways) but did result in research with Arclight Power that provided the primary fission reactors that provide power to the Grymlan's cities and ships. Nowadays they serve as one of the military minded corporations expanding the Grymlan's knowledge of tactics and equipment as they are exposed to new races.
      • Arclight Power: Lead by Dayton Voltzap, Arclight Power serves the Grymlan's ever-growing need for power. They are the formost researchers in high energy fields and often looking for new elements or ways to use them alongside Max Zappyzap Projections.
      • Fluffyshine Grooming: Headed by Celise Dyedye, Fluffyshine Grooming provides cosmetics and grooming supplies to the Grymlans. Proper grooming, especially of their tails, is considered a necessity by the Grymlan populace. In addition Grymlans enjoy expressing themselves in a wide array of colors both in clothing and hair dye. Fluffyshine Grooming is the leader in what is new and chic by melding technology with fashion.
      • Farseeker Enterprise: Lead by Trevan Longhaul, Farseeker Enterprise focuses not only on exploratory sensors and shipping, but they also serve the Grymlan Combine with transporting goods between population centers. While they were not the designers of the Darkship concept, they have been diligently improving it, focusing on the ships abilities to operate on long haul deployments and improving on thruster designs.
      • Infrastructure Craftmakers: Lead by Bruk Dynacraft, Infrastructure Craftmakers maintains the infrastructure of Grymlan life whether it be the heat resistant domes of Wratheye or the various space stations orbiting the Cloudysea expanse. They support endeavors to build faster, cheaper, and more adaptable among hostile environments.
      • Truthytruth Communications: Lead by Leelee Sweettounge, Truthytruth Communications deals with data and communications between the Grymlan people and works alongside OwO, and they also host many news and entertainment channels.
      • Feelgood Incorporated: Lead by Vera Tailsnug, Feelgood Incorperated serves the healthcare needs of the Grymlans. The work to constantly push the boundaries of medicine and scientific enhancement.
      • Fringe Science Go!: Headed by Wexel Weirdlight, Fringe Sceince Go! explores theoretical scientific fields such as magic and psionics. With the introduction of aliens with these abilities they have seen a resurgence as of late.
      • Advanced Integrated Dynamics: A recent addition to the Combine, CCI acts as a military corporation specializing in theoretical and prototype designs created from the incorporation, and abuse of, alien tech. Led by Leelee Buildfast.

While lacking the comfort amenities and most of the production capabilities of Darkship Shinystar, they make up with a considerable increase of mobility and overall speed.
    • Darkship Fleet Novabloom: To replace Darkship Shinystar, Grymlan engineers work on an updated Darkship Design that incorperates a greater number of smaller ships, each heavily armed with Deathbloom missile launchers and enhanced engines. Where previous iterations of darkship fleets focused on a slow, steady, approach to combat, Darkship Fleet NovaBloom represents the application of prototype explosive tech and changing ideas on approaches to naval doctrines.
    • Darkship Fleet Darks-Seer: Drawing upon the newly inducted Lopurna, Darkship Fleet Dark-Seer has several cruiser class ships created in a melding of Grymlan and Lopurna designs supported by Grymlan Zippyzap fighter craft. The The cruisers have several rapid fire zapcaster turrets dedicated to point defense and fighter denial systems, there are several crystaline emitter strips that run the lengths of the ship allowing the Lopurna crew to lash out with deadly psionic energy lances in lieu of the heavy zap cannons found on other Grymlan based warships.
    • Aetherweave Assault Corps: Those Lopurna trained to act as soldiers train their psionic abilities to enhance their physical capabilities, moving with preternatural grace, strength, and precision. As situations call for it, small communions can be levied to increase their capabilities such as against hardened targets or evading detection.

    The Gelean Empire
Leader: Xavier Bonaparte, Aeternal Emperor of The Gelean Empire and its Protectorates

    News and Rumors
    - With the Platinum Raja's entrance into the League of Roses and the apparent annihilation of the Kamasati state, the much-diminished but still alive Prator Qain is a prisoner of war without a home to return to. Though many years of imprisonment and psionic suppression via Platinum Ogre have severely and likely permanently reduced the psionic power he personally wields, he remains a gifted military mind and a powerful telepath, and the Imperial Administration considers the most appropriate and humane measures for handling this entity.

    - Members of the Secretariat make an uncommonly open move in attacking Symbraum-led Spiral Dancer gatherings in the Mobius System and Whaler's Union, but it's far too late. The rituals occur on too wide of a scale and there are too many to stop. The Dancers ascend; the psychic waves ripple out leaving changes in their wake. Many of the 'sonics' of the Mobius System disappear into energy on the spot, and the remainder are drained of mental energy to the point where they become little more than animals. The Grays prove more resilient as a species but still thousands are reduced to orange sludge by an unknown Psionic feedback effect.

    - While the Unified Public Trust's actions in pursuit of a second revolution are roundly condemned as the worst kind of terrorism taken with the specific aim of compromising Core Containment, the actions of the Syndrome and Lyraen Dominion in their attacks on the Ninurtine Empire are condemned as craven opportunism of the worst kind, and the League of Roses stands with its Celenian allies against this invasion. While the likely incoming revolution may or may not allow for military action to be taken, the Emperor is prepared to retaliate as necessary.

    Imperial Decrees

[Dip 10] Establish Galactic Empire - The Gelean League of Roses! - With no small amount of prodding from Elizabeth, the Emperor declares himself Hegemon and announces the formation of the League of Roses, in a speech clearly read off of a 3x5 card.

    Spoiler: The Rose League's Oaths
    Show
    The Rose League’s Oaths

    We Solemnly Swear
    • To defend the wellbeing and prosperity of our members and those who earn our respect.
    • To overgrow what is ancient and terrible without fear, and to flourish in its place.
    • To share blossoms of wealth, technology and trade between members, without treachery in our dealings.
    • To shower petals upon those who do us well, and bleed those who would abuse this trust.
    • To maintain the briar, and ensure that the thorns remain pointed where they must.
    • To turn our network of roots outward, rather than choking the ground they embrace.

[Dip] Press Claim on N4 (2/2) - News of the effective annihilation of the Kamasati by some manner of plague is a grim specter when the Emperor goes to next visit the Raja and crush a cup together, and bringing news of the Same coreward - and especially the pyrrhic victory at Hearth - proves too sobering even for the strongest of the Raja's drinks. The two men soon shake hands in agreement that they and their kingdoms should henceforth be friends, and the Raj joins as a member of the League of Roses, committing to outfit a fleet of their own in solidarity with the Gelean Armada.

[Mil] Raise 2 units as Guardian of the Galaxy! - With the Geleans increasingly taking the lead in the containment effort, the Emperor announces the production of Third and Fourth fleets - no fewer than six Valkyrie-class ships and additionally two of the new Siren-class Heavy Warships constructed by the Hexen Council, designed with superior materials science devised by Celenian engineers and 'living steel' armor grown from Hexen flora.

    Courtly Schemes

[Dip] Share Empath Agents CI with the Ndoda - After a chance encounter at the Galactic Expo, an informal agreement was made and a group of agents soon found themselves stationed on Kwizik to assist the Ndoda in establishing a Secretariat of their own. Though not especially renowned for it as the Symbraum, Kamasati, or even the Geleans themselves are, the Ndoda are a nascent psychic race and their abilities are well-suited to the techniques pioneered by the Gelean Secretariat: Emotional senses, telepathy, and more esoteric capabilities can be trained to razor focus and used to root out agitators, infiltrators, and other threats to the peace.

[Int] Secret [Roll 14] - Hush now, quiet now. It's time to go to sleep.

    ?????

[Int] Surveil J12 in search of SoS remains [Roll 14, TN 12] - With the cessation of Sisterhood of Silence updates, Parliament authorizes a search-and-rescue mission. Though the Gelean Empire has never been forgiven, precisely, for what happened at Ascendant Aurora, there are few who wish ill upon the Sisterhood and fewer who would feel joy at their annihilation. A few groups of specialist ships are dispatched to region J12, the last known location of the Matriarch, to map the region and extract any survivors or remnants. The abrupt galvanization of the previously gridlocked Gelean Parliament into taking distinct and, for lack of a better word, humanitarian action comes unexpectedly, and Parliament's actions begin to draw new attention from the Imperial Administration.

    - Lyrae has declared that the Federated Churches are in the right in this instance and seeks to support their punishing of the UPT for their crimes against the galaxy. A single leader is hardly enough. Everyone that had a part to play in this decision must be brought to justice. Therefore, she warns the Ninurtines that attacking them, something so directly contrary to Lyraen interests, will be seen as an attack on the Lyraen state.

    - Furthermore, Lyrae responds to the plea of certain, interested parties for her to meet with the moderates in ALL with the following: she will be glad to, once they have turned over all who were associated with the assassination and subsequent slaughter.

    - Ool's commission from the Syndrome arrived shortly after his death at the hands of the Same: a sentient dragon uplifted from the Kronin homeworld. A suitable habitat has been provided for her and Lyrae seems to take some comfort in raising the creature personally.

    Actions for Round 12 (Rolls)
    • [Philosophy 5] Organize Realtist Assembly in (W13)
Library of Peace to be stored within!

Liwei Academy's primary teachings are based on fundamental Realtist philosophy, marking it as one of the biggest centers of learning in the known galaxy dedicated to one such cause. Intentionally or not, through this many billion credit institution, Celestia Enterprises may eventually become united in philosophy without other pressures. The teachers are taxed, however, with guarding the Vault of Peace that lies with the most sacred part of the campus... Playing host to the item that has changed hands nearly seven times since it's original uncovering - the Library of Peace. Access to it is very rare, and the security state of the art. In the words of Headmaster Yazhu, "None enter. None leave."

When the university finally finishes completion, the artifact itself is brought in an armored ship with no less than eight maximum security escorts from Syndrome space. Clearly some thought has been put into the protection of the item...
    • [Philosophy] Construct 'Liwei Galactic University' [4/5] in Unnamed! (W13)
    • [Philosophy] Construct 'Liwei Galactic University' [5/5] in Unnamed! (W13)
      Assigned bonus: +1 against theft!

A grand academy is constructed in W13, with a capacity for nearly a hundred thousands students from across the galaxy. Only the brightest and richest are admitted entry into this beautiful place, which is sure to produce a new generation of people that come together through knowledge despite their racial or geographic differences to better themselves and hopefully work for Celestia Enterprises. Within this place is a grand vault named the 'Archives of Peace,' dedicated specifically to guarding the ever popular knowledge of the Library of Peace...
    • [Philosophy] Convert Unnamed (W15)! [Success!]
The influx of the Realtist 'brand' that is so compatible with Celestian culture already begins to spread.. Already encompassing over half of the outer territories - soon to be all of them.
    • [Diplomacy 5] New Cultural Identity: "Aristocratic Origins - Increased die size to resist thefts!"
One thing has always plagued the wealthy. Theft. Thankfully, Celestia Enterprises is well used to dealing with it. Within their own corporation there is a history of theft and eventual punishment, as that which is not guarded is eventually taken. Where the corporation once was so focused on preventing these injustices internally, the capability of alien races to provide unique ways around standard security measures is alarming; and the whole of (upper) society has come together to recall and enhance their defense against the antithesis of their aristocratic origins.

    1. A new leader rises! After Many years under the rule of Mittens the cat, the feline has finally passed into the afterlife due to natural causes. While the very method of attaining intelligence for the feline is unknown to the public, he was generally well liked and considered something to help Celestia stand out despite their still isolated position among stellar empires. Some criticize Mittens for having been too passive a leader, and that by refusing to explore more regions of space that Celestia has missed out on opportunities that should have appeared to them. In return, however, Celestia Enterprises has become a more stable and unified entity than it has been for most of it's history, even despite the revolution that shot them out onto the galactic edge.
    2. This philosopher who takes the head of the company during the transition period spent much time in the company of Mittens in his final days. He is said to have spoken to the cat, and understands what must be done to protect the people of Celestia while the new CEO is sorted out. Cleverly, he has used the Church of Rust curiosity of caller relics to convince the primary government to let them store the item within his vault. ...Which is a good move, for one expecting an attempt at theft any day now.

    The Ninurtine Empire
    Round 12

    News and Rumours
    • Buoyed by the easy conquest of W23, the Lord Admiral leads a further recon with two-thirds of the fleet into X22.
    • Emperor Durgadoresh has already made his mark with the pacification of the Dalamin Sector and it is generally expected he will continue the trend in the second half of Cherahiteth's reign of strengthening the personal role of the Emperor.
    • Phi Station is complete! The scientific research station in V24 marks Imperial occupation of the sector, long dead space on the eastern border.
    • The Empire publicly offers assistance with the investigation of the murder of the Courier relay, but the lack of experience in this field soon becomes apparent. The new Emperor is said to be keen to improve the state of Imperial intelligence, and the Tribune-General is making efforts to locate the best and brightest investigators within the ranks of that organisation for specialist training.
    • A ship remarkably similar to the Liberator is said to be being built by a private interest in the Damu shipyards.
    • Ayaka Plakidia has declared her intention to hunt down Caranus, apparently feeling a personal responsibility for letting him escape on Kroznar. She has set off with her drones on a private mission.
    • Representations from the FCO regarding the conquest of the Gamalin Sector are listened to politely, but with diminishing patience. It is equally politely pointed out that the region in question had been discovered by the Duenem long before the FCO came to this part of the galaxy, that the direction of the Imperial invasion was if anything away from Church space, that Madlass Joe had no right to govern a (Space) hot dog stand, let alone a star system, that the FCO has no claim over the region whatsoever, and that, in short, the invasion was not only entirely justifiable but is none of the Church's business.
    • An ambassador is sent to the Vilari Speaker stating that the Empire would be pleased to agree a demarcation of territory with the Sodality between their respective areas of administration, to avoid border disputes, and that should the Star League wish to discuss this the Emperor will receive its representative.
    • The Emperor is surprised when the Speaker of the Unified Public Trust arrives to surrender himself and all UPT territiories in person. He is remitted to custody.
    • As the UPT is now, further to that surrender, Imperial territory, the FCO is invited to submit its complaints about the UPT formally under Imperial law.
    • The Lyrae have shown themselves faithless, the FCO to be opportunist pirates, and the Syndrome remain a menace to civilisation. Only one of the Empire's neighbours remains true. The Emperor formally requests Celenian assistance in defending its regions from the Syndrome surprise attack.
    • A message is urgently sent to recall the navy from X22 to defend the western territories.
    • Ryoma Tineias formally pledges his sword to the defence of the Empire, in the face of the laughable claims from the Syndrome to be defending their interest. As free citizens of the Empire, the Knights near-unanimously follow Ryoma's lead.

Spoiler: The Retirement of Vice Admiral Dashunul
    Show

In the general panic, the wedding of two of the Empire's highest-profile figures,Vice Admiral Dashunul and Commander Medenon, legendary racing pilot, went almost unremarked. That changed when, following the Syndrome withdrawing its forces from the border, Dashunul announced her retirement from active service.

A souvenir newssheet titled Red Right Hand of the Emperor sold out within hours. It is rumoured that behind the scenes both the Lord Admiral and the Emperor begged her to change her decision, but she is still suffering from a wound incurred in the Emancipation, and it was finally time to hang up her sword and spend some time with her husband. The reckless heroism that had characterised her earlier career, she said, was no longer sustainable.

Her retirement ceremony is held on and above Durga, her home moon, and was attended by the entire Council of State, as well as all naval personnel who could acquire tickets. The Emperor presented her with the first of a new series of medals, the Crystal Star, the Empire's highest military award, while Ryoma Tineias presented her with a silver sword to mark honorary status as a Knight Commander. It is said the Lord Admiral nearly shed tears during her speech commending her valiant subcommander.

In response, Dashunul gave a short, but heartfelt speech extolling Imperial virtues and urging the young cadets present to value each other, their honour, and the Emperor.

The ceremony concluded with a full broadside salute from HMIS Terminus, the ship on which she had served the last years of her career.

    Actions
    1. [Diplomacy 10] Declare Symphony a Galactic Empire with General Secretary Jerry Gates of Union to serve as the first Conductor - Evolving out of membership in the Uplift Chorus a new galactic polity to rival the expansive Mier Formican empire is announced from the seat of the PolitBoro on Vanguard Station. Brigid of the Tezh Consensus, a new friend and comrade, alongside Consensus Leader Faugloglys, an old comrade and war weathered friend, meet with Secretary Gates of Union to all personally sign the ratified charter for Symphony which sets forth a selection of ideals to be pursued by this stellar amalgamation. First and foremost the rights of all thinking entities be they biological, energetic, synthetic, or otherwise composed to the means of sustained life, access to education, availability of meaningful work, and a voice in their governing political process are affirmed and endorsed by signatories. In addition the scientific realities of Oneness are underscored as the basis for reaching this harmonic Symphony between signatories. Symphony is enshrined as a political organization not intended to subjugate or rule with heavy hand from on high but as a coalition composed of likeminded powers pursuing a peaceful and prosperous Axiom. Symphony is to be headed by a Conductor elected by signatory member ballots cast for qualified candidates. In a move that surprises no one aware of the political specialties pursued between Consensus and Union the General Secretary receives the nomination to Conductor for the first six year term of this new political organ.
    2. [Philosophy] Convert U3 to the One using TZH Phi 14 - Ideological organs of the collectivized worker's state get in contact with Tezh Consensus bureaucrats to orchestrate a focused learning campaign in the nearby newly explored sector of space. Spreading of the One thought had been paramount to the Uplift Chorus's success as an alliance and served as a foundational ethos to the principles of the Symphony. The desire to encompass as many as possible in a unified purpose drives promotion of the common tenets among those most newly introduced to the wider galactic civilization.
    3. [Military] Raise Unit 1/2 Tenor - Inspired by the engineering feats touted by the Harbinger class capital ships produced by the Celenians the desire to mount a counter balance for the common working denizens of Axiom to the supremacist militancy many of the aggressive imperialist powers rising up throughout the galaxy prompts action. The commissioning of a capital ship to serve as the flagship for the newly formed Symphony armada is approved in the next production quotas set by the PolitBoro. A 1.8 megatonne prototype Union capital ship is soon under construction in Borealis.
    4. [Military] Raise Unit 2/2 Tenor - The blue sheets of the Union’s Boreal Metal shine coolly against the bold red accents outlining the weapon battery emplacements along the rim of this warship. Missile tubes, electronic countermeasures, and matter manipulator repair bays round out the advanced suite of this starship. As the anointed flagship for Symphony it is seen as fitting to name this ship and this class the Tenor.
    5. [Military] Raise 1 unit of Red Fleet Support Ships - With Rothuun aggression near Rocthurhi borders and the Revolution coming up thanks to UPT’s selfish opportunism armament becomes the number one Union priority. The last time Efficiency Ground spun the galaxy an angry hornet’s nest of Draaxeri had landed in Union’s lap and they had been unprepared to deal with the Superterran assault. The desire to preserve the gains managed by Union and its Symphonic Siblings meant preparation to defend them against outside aggression. With a good portion of the fleet being diverted to protect Lyraen lives against Lyrae's paranoid tyranny replacement hospital ships, transports, and sundry other vessels are pressed into Red Fleet service.
    6. [Military] Raise 1 unit “The Dogs of War” - Lyrae had proven quite intractable in attempts by Union to jumpstart negotiations with the Lyraen Liberation Movement that had gathered within the united front alliance of the ALL. Moderate voices had disavowed the actions taken against the previous incarnation of Lyrae but her reincarnation into a paranoid and frightened state had seemingly only acted to reinforce pushback against the god-queen dictator of the Lyraen Stellar Dominion. While Lyraen opinion was generally depicted as Lyrae’s opinion the truth was far more complicated as Union’s long tenure on the prison planet of Lyrae III had proven. Dissidents and prisoners whose rights had been lobbied for and a small number of whom achieved freedom through work release with the embassy alongside scattered Lyraens from across Axiom are recruited to command and crew a newly assembled fleet of warships. With militarization as a top priority the majority of this Task Force’s ships are true warships and not impressed merchant vessels retrofitted for combat.

    Lyraen Embassy
    • Send 3 UNN Units (Gestalt Psychics, Red Fleet Dreadnoughts, & Red Fleet Support Ships) to the moderate faction within the Anti-Luminary League in a move intended to dissuade further violence within the Lyraen Stellar Dominion. Lyrae is petitioned to accept parley from the ALL moderates to be ensured and protected by UNN forces. The luminary queen Lyrae is asked to listen again, as she did years and an existence ago, to the concerns of the Union regarding the lack of real political recourse for the many people now brought under Lyraen domain. Democracy or self rule in some form was needed to make her ideal state, the state composed of her own children and many more aliens now besides, function without the contradictions and suffering that now threatened revolution and civil war. The ALL assault on the Lyraen capital is condemned by Union as the actions of extremists from the fringe of politics, a fringe that had only become more powerful due to the repression enforced by Lyrae's state organs of propaganda and war. There were reasonable voices, reasonable Lyraens and aliens brought into a theocracy they couldn't hope to understand and given over to serve a goddess they had never met, within the ALL and the Union pledges to do all it can to protect these innocent people who wished only for the political agency imbued in them by natural impulse. Resorting to a violent struggle for power was an unenviable and bloody state of affairs the Union wishes to see bypassed by Lyrae's agreement to meet with those advocating for a mandate of rule derived from the people she sought to rule and not from Lyrae to herself.

    • The Dipanans are commended for their aid with the Arcane Radiation Harvester and representatives of the human and Sunbream nations are invited to attend a celebratory banquet in Union space. The Dipanans were a noble collective and their strength through diversity and welcoming of the unusual is highly lauded. Invitations to formalize diplomatic relations between Union and the Dipanan join the representatives on their return home.
    • Some view the Uplift Chorus as a somewhat defunct agreement with the formation of Symphony but these voices are swiftly reminded of the Droccen Imperium's retained position as a member of the Uplift Chorus but non-member of Symphony. It had been a difficult decision to come to but ultimately the members of the Uplift Chorus had felt the independent political relationships established by the Droccen made integration into a wider political whole difficult at the current time. Further, it was considered by some within the PolitBoro that the admittance of a monarchist faction, even an elective monarchy with a republican council, among the democratic states of Union, Rocthurhi, and Consensus might undermine the vows of equality taken by Symphony signatories. Nonetheless these arguments were never made too strongly for many knew the young Princess Mika Ren was a favorite to win not only the Drocc imperial crown but was being tutored in Union space on political matters relating to Symphony and its member states. There was a suspicion, no doubt a rather correct one, that the young Princess was being groomed to ascend to untold heights within the ideological/political web that had lifted the Uplift Chorus, now Symphony, this far. But the girl was only just entering her womanhood at the tender age of eighteen and Sai still had many years ahead to reign as Empress and so such talk is discouraged and hushed when heard as for now the great new Symphonic instrument for the One seeks to bring peace and prosperity to its galactic brethren.
    • The Eradicators were a scourge upon Axiom who would choose to become as great a threat as the Same given the chance. It was better to stomp them out now while they were manageable, a lesson followers of the One were wise to learn from their galactic inheritance. No attempt is made to hide the Union’s contempt for the space pirates and an elite team of secretly trained elite commandos are dispatched to take out a known Eradicator hive. The Grymlan Combine is warned not to interfere and assured the Union had no intent to impinge upon their sovereign space. The Star League and friends to good order are invited to attend a celebration of another blow being struck against this menace.
The Grymlan Combine chooses to interfere anyway and the Union begrudgingly stops to listen. Someone capable of tolerating Grymlanspeak is able to ascertain that the Combine had a plan in motion for the nearby base. While the Union was less than enthused by the prospect of waiting ultimately they choose to stand down and tolerate the Grymlan plan of action. The Combine assures the Union of a rapid deadline and Union forces withdraw back to Union space.
    • The Hallion Accords have expired and in the wake of the rebellion within Starfleet and startling revelations of the depravity and cruelty tolerated by the former Council of Officers that were still pouring out of Dominion space the Union and its Symphonic siblings were uncertain it was wise to re-ratify the agreement. Master Marius Thresher Nox was no spring chicken freshly hatched and his apparent ignorance of the corruption infesting his upper echelons does damage to any perception of his role as an opponent to corruption and cruelty. The newest transmissions from the New Dawn certainly contained some of the sorts of words Union had always hoped to hear from their neighbors in Starfleet such as "freedom" and "no discrimination" but their timing cast much doubt about them and the militancy embedded in a fully Starfleet dominated polity were worrying. For now deliberations among the Symphonic siblings continue as to what course of action to take with regards to the Dominion.

    2. [Military] Complete construction of the CPC base in the Tel-Yun Accord (3/3)
AS word reaches the Seer Council of the Public Trust's mad hastening of a second Revolution, construction of the Core Patrol Corps base hastens to meet it. Though unsure of what their situation will be after Efficiency Ground's meddling, the Vilari's responsibility to the galaxy is unchanged. Perhaps fate will be kind, and place them at the forefront of the coming war. If not, the Star League can at least serve as a fallback position for the stalwarts of the Core Patrol.
    3. [Military] Raise One Unit
While much of the Sodality's materiel is turned to supporting the Core Patrol or stockpiling for the Revolution, the ships damaged in their recent expansion are brought into dry dock for repair.
    4. [Military] Dispatch One Unit to take control of Region J-28
Having secured a territorial foothold within striking distance of Efficiency Ground, the Vilari realize to their sorrow they may be too late. Hopeful that Etherite explorers might still uncover some clue that would avert or delay the chaos, the Star League Defense Fleet embarks back towards the Star League Core, securing the dead region recently uncovered by the Thayqel.
    5. [Economy] Buy Out TP 2 of Solar Sapphires in the Gardens of Leira (J-24) 11
With the completion of the Star Heart and the finalization of the Garden's integration into the Sodality, Vilari traders once more attempt to secure a constant supply of Solar Sapphires. However, despite their best efforts the mage lords of the region prove reticent to part with more than a few of the precious gems.
    6. [Philosophy] Convert Region L-26 to Way of Tides 15
Intrigued by the mysteries posed by a region beyond death, Vilari philosophers and diplomats are dispatched into the territory of the Rib Ticklers. While there is a great deal of work still to do, enough common ground emerges for the Way of Tides to take root in the region.

    The Star League Charter

As the territories of matured species expand, and we confront growing threats from without and within, it is resolved that we gathered here affirm our principles. We, the people of the Star League, do make known these policies in hope for a brighter future for the galaxy.

    We Are Resolved

    • To defend the sovereign right of every species, organic or synthetic, to self-government, or to equitable representation as equal partners in greater galactic powers.
    • To safeguard, by that same principle, the rights of any lesser power when threatened by an outside aggressor.
    • To guarantee the sovereign borders of all member states, through diplomacy if possible, but if necessary through force of arms.
    • To pledge our might to the eradication of those forces which threaten the continued prosperity of all species, within and without the League.
    • To pursue technological advancement, both civilian and military, and to freely proliferate these advancements among League members.
    • To ensure the free and open movement of trade between our borders, absent onerous or unequal duties.
    • To seek out and preserve the knowledge of Axiom’s progenitor species, that we might gain their wisdom and avoid their downfall.
    • To promote cultural exchange of beliefs and ideals, so that social progress and better standards of life might be realized.
    • To form a unified council to serve as adjudicator in cases of conflict between League members, and under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of galactic law can be maintained.

    We so Affirm,
