A happy end for everyone. Well, not for Snout*, but everyone else- most importantly the readers?
    Best possible outcome.

So I dont know about you, but I dont think my first reaction to a sentient sunflower handing me a sunflower seed would be to eat it. I would just have no idea what to do at that point. Also, yay, guess we needed a new jerk or something?

So the sunflower is named Sunflower; or at least that's what Snout thinks after eating their baby.

I love how Snout is given either tissue or a child or a bodily secretion and his first reaction is eating it. WTFe, Snout? and flower-dude too, that's like introducing yourself by giving the lint from your navel. I can see how the orcs ended up burning down their city, they were in full cognitive dissonance mode, "how can they be so disgusting, and yet SO TASTY?!"

So you say that's his name? I was wondering what that meant.

I had a feeling plant man would trigger plant woman in some way. Lets see how this plays out. This is likely another example of Snouts deafness causing problems for him. He doesnt know whats being said and will have a much harder time accurately judging actions based on that. Will plant girl get obliterated? Will she devour sunflower guy? is there a reason for either to happen? he will likely only know after the event is long past and the written explanation can be made. Which of course brings paranoia into place. Will they tell the truth about what happened? How does he know?

I'm more amused about the previous comic.

"Let's tell Snout something in a language he can't read!" And they should know he can't read Orcish yet.

And since he's deaf, the only thing he can go off of is facial expressions. "Okay, he's ... upset about something?"

    Ha, ha. So funny.

But what I mean is he wont know WHY it happened. Maybe plant girl went insane and tried to murder sunflower for no reason. Maybe sunflower declared he would mulch her corpse into sustenance for his undevoured young and she took exception to that. Sort of like bumping into the other ink people. he knew they were arguing by their faces and posture, he DIDNT know how dangerous they were so he got in the middle and was nearly punched to death because he didnt realize how serious a situation it was. It was one of the few times not being able to hear impacted on the storyline seriously

Turns out all they had to do was wait for her to cough up the last chunk of root. Simple. You know what I was kind of hoping for? Plant lady to resent snout. Why? She doesnt seem to understand the written language, we dont even know if she is speaking a proper language, but apparently she spends all night screaming. I could see her being resentful of snout for being this cold unfeeling jerk who ignores her pain most of the time because she doesnt get that he cant hear her. Maybe once a day he acknowledges her issues (when they happen right in front of him so he sees it happen) the rest of the time she is isolated while being right next to him. It might even explain her lashing out at him that one time, her frustration boiling over. And now that they are with other people they can help her understand why snout seemed to ignore her constantly. Or seem hot and cold in his reactions as sometimes he comforts her but the rest of the time acts like she isnt screaming in pain or rage.

Resentment is generally the result of unmet expectations, and I doubt the naked lady has "expectations", as those tend to be the result of the sort of sophisticated thinking I don't think she's capable of in her current "I'm just happy to not be screaming" existence.

So the Snout Harem Comedy has been shot down, because that penultimate panel establishes Arstotzka + Felonius and Ink Witch + Sunflower as romantic couples. Just look at how they look at each other.

Going by Ink Witch's reaction that's either a insult or he's hitting on Snout.

Im guessing this dude is basically Dandy Man. Very aware of appearance and takes all matter sartorial very seriously. It wouldnt surprise me if it is a bunch of backhanded comments about offering to set him up with clothing while insulting his appearance at least once per line. Or just a pre made comment card about how he resents snout for endangering his side piece ink witch.

I thought he had an orc to english dictionary he was using to translate word by word. He hasnt had the chance to sit down and study the note he was left though.

Yes, he left the (magical!) dictionary in the other room Or maybe he understood what was written on it, and it gave it to Ink Witch to get a second opinion.

So ink witch is totally ticked, arduak is defending his bro, I get the feeling that mister fabulous is saying something witty and/or snarky next to snout, and snout, who again has no idea what is going on is about to throw hands if they dont calm down around the panicking and terrified mystery woman who likely has no idea whats going on either. Snout is clearly just about done with the ink witch arduak drama that seems to go off on a hair trigger and I dont blame him. He has no idea whats being yelled back and forth. All he knows is everything seems to set them off.

So, what does this all have to do with the plot, anyways? I thought the vine house was just going to be a minor distraction enroute to rescue Ink Witch and All Spark, but then they got out on their own off panel, and now this has fully consumed the story progression for the past, like, fifty pages or so. I'm getting the sinking feeling that the Vine Lady is somehow going to connect to Dominic Deegan, and that Snout once again accidentally wandered straight into another plot point.
