So... The whole "Use the dream dimension to mess with history so my wife doesn't die" plan is off the table then?

Actually, is she dead? Or did she run away to be with this Another (weird name) person.

Here is the twist, his wife had a kid. She loved that kid. Omg what a twist. Or, she loved the land. Thats why she sacrificed herself. Omg what a twist.Or something almost equally stupid. Little miss ship melter is her mother, she loved her mother. Omg what a twist. Turns out MIL monsters are an orc thing too.

And now we get a random flashback, of that time that Snout was seduced by an unknown Orkish woman, who was certain that he would never reveal this secret...

Completely unrealistic. Everybody knows that the harem protagonist is a total virgin, oblivious to all sexual advances.

By the way, why doesn't Acerola have nipples? Are orcs lizards?

Wtf is this? Does he have some sort of belief that they are going to fall in love and be his new parents or something? Im guessing he has been reading too many of the wrong books if he thinks this is how true love works.

Seriously, I think snout is secretly a nude mage. His aura makes people just... want to strip down around him. Often with cuddling. Now he gets to go skinny dipping with galadriorc before he gets his vision.

Oh thank god its almost over. Take a deep "breath" snout it will all be over soon. :p Nah but seriously this is just a more advanced galadriel and her mirror setup. Snout will get some sort of vision that grants a clue to the next step, we may never find out what the heck was going on with everything else. Pretty sure this proves its not ink witches fault her ship fell apart, its snout's. The power of plot compelled him to arrive here to be handed the next bit of the story and unfortunately for everyone else, they got caught up in it.

    Wait. What.
I mean, without meeting them he'd still sit in his house, not even knowing anything about this legacy stuff.
If what they're doing is "holding him back" they should do more of it. He will reach his goal in no time.

Also, I didn't know vomit could do that.
I guess that's her version of Ink Witch's ink?

This runs completely contrary to everything we've seen. All of his advancement has been off of their efforts, and they are constantly having to explain things to him. In fact, it would be accurate to say that he is holding them back.

"Don't trust your friends! Instead trust me, the witch who crashed your airship, tried to drown you, and barfed in your diary."

I'd be tempted to say that she's actually the villain of this chapter, but this is Mookie we're talking about. He's not really capable of writing villains that are actually capable of subterfuge.

(Technically, he had in Dominic Deegan several villains who attempted subterfuge, but they were always thwarted by Dominic casting "buck you, see the truth" ten times per minute. So I don't think he'd be able to write a deception attempt against a protagonist who has no inbuilt defense against that.)

Im betting on test. This is one of those tests of resolve/character that happens. She tells you something terrible and you are supposed to believe in the heart of the cards and the power of nakama to overcome it. Im pretty sure everyone is seeing or hearing or being told something that is testing their resolve to carry on.

Being completely serious, why does Snout even care about Dominic's legacy? It has absolutely no bearing on him or his life. This whole thing started because he stumbled upon a scrap of paper with a name he vaguely recognized. It's not actually important to him, but now we're supposed to believe that it's his greatest goal?

Because he is a curious man who has led a lonely life of little but study up till now. He found a mystery, wanted to solve it, and it has grown into something far more huge than he imagined and he wants to see learn the truth. Its the greatest goal he really has because what else does he have to do with his life? And now he is admitting the friends he has made along the way are more important than that, which is the right answer because this isnt some "30 days till total destruction" timed event. Its been a mystery people have tried to solve for hundreds of years. As of right now, we know of no looming doom over the land if they dont solve this right away.

    Nakama wins again.

I'd say this was resolved very quickly, but let's be honest: we're all thankful for that. The pace is glacial already.

On one hand, this "they'll slow you down" looks like an admission of the fact that the problems of Vine Lady and Arudak don't have anything to do with the Dominic plot.

On the other hand, as others have noticed, going "they'll slow you down" doesn't make much sense: Snout simply has no way to go forward without them, as he couldn't find that famous book, and the Ink Witch has an airplane, while Arudak has contacts and expertise. The Nude Teller could have enabled the next step for Snout's quest, and thus given him an actual choice, but, right now, I don't see how he could go forward without hanging on to Arudak and the Witch, at least for a while.

Well, that was a fast decision.
I was actually expecting dreading several pages of Snout stuggling with this not-dilemma.

Also, any ideas for the next thread title? We're almost on the last page.

I suppose the title should warn people about what they'll find in the comic being discussed, so I suggest:

"The Legacy of Dominic Deegan: Don't be clothed-minded"

Its not really explicitly stated but I got it from the context. Snout didnt exactly have a thriving social life in the wild edge. He was a nerd who read a lot then stumbled over a mystery he wanted to figure out and things have spiraled from there. Im doing a quick scan of the start. Snout lost everything but his diary because of the whole ink witch ship DD mystery, so he had nothing else to do but explore to try and figure out what the mystery papers talking about DD had to say. And then after that he got a clue as to where he could go next, another library, and decided to do that. Again, he had nothing holding him here. No friends, no home, no possessions other than his diary and clothes. Now he has a quest, but he also has friends he wants to help and he isnt going to turn his back on them.
