Fluff:
His "Widowed" past is dark and mysterious, his creator has disappeared and presumed dead (especially after all these years, unless she is obviously one like himself, a Synth Droid.), but his current job has allowed him to fly all over the galaxy and follow leads to find out what really happened. Although he knows he is a droid, he enjoys life as a humanoid. And so far it hasn't been a disappointment.

Lieutenant Sehlvar Uhl Colzet has been drafted into the Navy, he happily does his bit to protect the Empire, blending in with Sith leadership easily on account of his race and skin colour. He's managed over the couple of years of serving as a pilot to obtain a respectable list of connections, even managing to buy himself a Power Hammer recently in the process as a private weapon, and although it's not a sanctioned weapon, nobody has had reason yet to call him up on it..

As a pilot flying officers from and to Star Destroyers and their like, flying Commanders to their designated base or ship was his regular job, since having come from the academy. He briefly served as a fighter pilot during the latter stage of the Yuuzang Vong Era invasion, with part of the rebels who allies up with the Imperial Remnants but was mostly assigned to mop up duties, he made himself dissapear when that war was over and enter the Imperial Academy again decades later.

All these years he has kept quiet, travelling very sparingly and keeping a very low profile. Only recently his wanderlust and thirst for knowledge about the universe has made him step back into the light of general life and apply at the Imperial Academy.

Personality:
Calm, quiet and gruff, Alares is a survivor, and especially a mercenary. He has a high honor sense – he will not betray a cause till the mission is over. Then he can work for the opposite side, if the price is right.
What he can’t resolve with words, he resolves with a well-placed shot, or a punch to the teeth.

Appearance:
Tall, muscular with a feral look on his green eyes, complemented by raven black hair, with some white creeping. He has a scar over his eye.
He has a tanned body by years of missions and blood splattering. Has long tattoos on his good arm, and painted and engraving in the prothestic one. He is always with Stella, his large heavy rifle. Stella is the only thing he has an attachment with. People die, change, betray. Stella never let him down.

Background:
To Alares, life is war. To breath is to fight. He almost doesn’t remember a time when it wasn’t. When life was simpler... or happy(?).
Born in a backwater planet in the outer rim (middle of nowhere to the right) under the rulership of one or another lord (for the day to day of the citizens that meant nothing), in a simple farmer family, he learned how to tend the fields and to shoot.
When he was 12, he wanted more. More money, more life so he ventured into a ship, and from there into the galaxy above.
Since then he has been putting his natural talent for killing, for good use. The one that pays more has the benefit of gaining his skill. Known simply as the Dragon, from the amout of fire he unleashes, he has built a somewhat gory curriculum.

Concept elements
1) To Alares Life is war. Since he left his backwater world, he has been fighting, one way or another.

5) Losing his arm made him start to rethink his life. He feels an enormous void and needs something to fill it. These last months it has been women, liquor, and war. But that hasn’t help.

Goals
1) For Alares the most important thing is money at this moment (and Stella of course).
2) Redemption is always cool. Alares finding a cause or someone to live for/with. Maybe even returning to his old family household and reclaim his nobility.

Secrets
Known – He has Crossed paths with a powerful Hutt lord, Kalla the Hutt, and is on a hit list by the criminal. To Alares was just work, but Hutts don’t tend to think it like that.
Unknown – The memories of his childhood are fake. Alares was a member of a noble family, that was targeted to be killed by the rival family. Horst pitied the kid and took it with him. Alares has a small iron ring tied around his neck as a good luck charm. The ring is a signet ring of his family.

People
1) Friendly - Horst is retired and owns a cantina for former mercs, where jobs are peddled, and a lot of black market activities happen. Despite the grey hair, Horst still has the skills that allowed him to survive for more than 30 years in merc jobs.
2) Friendly – Meira Kal is a former member of the Krags, and former lover of Alares. She left mercenary jobs and started smuggling ones. She has a fast ship and knows how to talk. They keep in touch despite a sort of sexual tension remaining.
3) Enemy - Kalla the Hutt has seen his endeavors failing twice due to Alares. In the first his employees were stealing weapons from a production facility, but Alares was part of the team defending it. All of his team ended up dead (not a big deal for the Hutt) but his reputation with the clan has dwindled. The second time Kalla’s men were assaulting a transport ship and their ships got shot by the Dragon, controlling the blaster batteries. That resulted in a large material loss for the hutt. From there on he focuses his rage on the Dragon and not on his lack of good employees or especially good tactics.

Memories
1) Alares remembers the sun. The sun on his back burning hot as he walked the fields next to his house. His house was dark, dark as a shadow against the sun. The wind was warm. He was smiling. From that memory Alares always says "If I die, let it be with the sun shinning on me."
2) Alares remembers the face of the first man he killed. The dark hair, the scream, the blood. His own heart breaking, stopping and getting excited at the same time. The puking he had to do afterwards. Alares was just a kid till that time... not since.
3) Alares still feels the sensation of getting his arm blown, of thinking on dying, on not feeling pain. Of drifting away. Of his mind trying to grasp reality. Of it fluttering to wild dreams of fortresses, flower fields and a smile. A blonde woman smiles. A Warm smile. A goddess. Mother(?). When thinking (especially if he plans to do smething stupid/brave) he uncounsciously taps his prosthetic arm.

Dak'ki Peete – Jawa Raider

Pete (a Basic corruption of his given Jawa name) is an opportunistic soldier of fortune eager to attach himself to any outfit that has both decent firepower and attractive economic prospects and who will value his contributions. Failing that pipe dream, he'll settle for any ragtag band of blaster-bait with any economic prospects at all who will at least tolerate his presence. He knows the importance other species place on hygiene, and he knows better than to take his allies' gear without permission, making him a surprisingly palatable companion for a Jawa. To ease communication he has a cheap labor droid that speaks both Jawa and Basic that he forces into use as a makeshift translator. He expresses his friendship with profligate gift-giving, usually homemade grenades or other explosives that he's assembled from scavenged parts.

Mechanically, Pete is a jack-of-all-trades support character. In combat he's a highly evasive target who impedes enemies through voluminous suppressing fire and flash grenades. His social skills are good enough to be a secondary face (at least in situations where the translation delay won't be an issue), he is surprisingly skilled as a pilot (as long as no one needs him to shoot and fly at the same time), and he is a decent mechanic (particularly when using off-label parts). Most usefully, he's fantastic at procuring parts and equipment, whether via scavenging, haggling, or pilfering.

Pete will speak in Purple.

Pete and his droid conned and bribed their way onto the Corusca Rainbow, posing as the servants of some (nonspecific) paying customer. They "bunk" in the machinery spaces between decks, hang out in the same areas frequented by the guests' legitimate servants, and otherwise act like they're supposed to be there. Why Pete thought this was a good idea is an open question.

Pete grew up in a transient Jawa community on Ryloth. If asked, he'd have no idea how his people ended up amongst the Twi'leks--frankly it never occurred to him to wonder. He's always been a survivor, skilled at diving away from danger at the last second, a useful talent on a world filled with predators. That trait let him outlive the rest of his clan after a deal with a local crime lord went south. He doesn't know if the crime lord is actually hunting for him, but with no more familial ties to Ryloth Pete decided that discretion was the better part of valor and fled the planet as quickly as he could manage. He's on the lookout for a new family, and is very open-minded as to what form they might take.

Having lived his life surrounded by the sociable Twi'leks, Pete better understands non-Jawa cultures than stereotypes would suggest, but he still doesn't entirely "get" the extent to which other species can have significantly different values than his own. He thus takes refuge in commerce, where the goal of acquiring more stuff and more credits (to buy more stuff) is seemingly universal. Like other Jawas he's simultaneously skittish and curious, willful and prone to acting on impulse.

Details aren't important, but I am going to say that my mental state has taken a massive hit over the last two weeks, on multiple fronts.

I am regretfully going to have to shelve this for now so I can focus on some things I need to. I am really sorry for having to do this literally right off the jump, but this was extremely unexpected.
