Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Spoiler: OOCThe Moonblades have crashed Water-bears 3 and 4.
With a massed yell, the Moonblades push forward, spears, swords and axes driving the two Water-bears back towards the holes from which they burst out of the ice.
High Above, Siev looks with shock at his blood-smeared white uniform and then gives Decks a haughty glare. His hobgoblin majordomo begins capering about madly. "OH, you have made the master SO VERY CROSS! Yes indeed, I have rarely seen him so nettled! Why he is simply incandescent, bursting with wrath and ruin oh my yes! Oh you are just going to get it, mark my words when he's through with you, oooh I wouldn't want to be you, no sir-!" With a flick of his hand Siev silences the creature. With the other, he drops his soapstone into the creature's waiting hands, and draws a set of throwing knives from within his sleeves, throwing in an elegant twirl on the spot as he does so. With an indulgent toss of his hair, the fae prince gets serious.
Spoiler: OOC & RollsSiev is joining the battle. Really ought to have done this at the top of the round, but it slipped my mind. Who knows, he might end up fitting in nicely after everyone who's gone so far. He is spending 5m on Untouchable performer technique. This counts as an instill action to make Decks well disposed towards the Fae Prince, perhaps not want to fight him. Why would you fight someone so handsome anyway? If successful, Decks gains a tie of adoration towards Siev.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The sounds of battle echo around Adorei, the wounded roars of the bear-fey clashing with the shouts of men and the cracks of splintering ice. Buried in the yeddim's fur, he barely notices. His head is pounding. Every death out there on the ice-fields makes the locusts sing ever-louder, Creation's swan song writ black and small. It hurt.
He shakes his head to clear it, to focus, and with one hand entwined in fur he vaults up onto the yeddim's broad shoulders to survey the field. His mouth can't help but curl - the icewalkers showed enthusiasm, but no discipline. Bravery, but no planning. How men like this had defeated the legions, he didn't understand. At least they were winning, and dying as they did so. But his attention can't stay ground-bound for long; it's soon drawn up, up away from the blood and death and towards the Potentiate that graced them from above. The air around him thickens, blurs, and his legs tense.
Time to earn his keep.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
As Prince Siev flips his hair and draws his knives, sunlight glints off the shiny blades and reflect multiple bright spots onto the snow. Decks, instinctively, leaps upon the closest beam to him. The joy of playing with the shimmering lights and the handsome man briefly take precedence over all other thoughts and emotions.
Anger soon follows. ‘How dare this Fey treat me like some house pet!’
Decks growls deeply with his back arching and his fur poofing out fully.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Siev's face is a picture of serenity as he threads the ring-pommels of his throwing knives through his fingers. His eyes suddenly gain a clear, deadly focus and he throws, aiming low with one hand and high with the other. As the fine otherworldly blades leave his hands, they emit a high keening note that pierces the air, audible to everyone on the battlefield and far beyond. The Hobgoblin begins capering around behind him. "Oh yes, yes master! A very fine idea indeed sir! I am most delighted you thought of it, a lowly servant such as I would never have considered the option, though I am grateful you did sir! That beast looks dangerous. It has such a pretty hide, though, shame to risk spoiling it with your knives sir."
Spoiler: OOCSiev is making a Withering attack against Decks at close range, with his 'Glittering Knives'. No range issues, so no need to aim here.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Meanwhile, blind to the dramatic confrontation above her, the intensifying wider battle, and the cries of her foe of a few seconds ago, the Outlander's focus remains on her chosen target. The bear is still struggling with the ice, its footing lost after its failed attempt to grab her leg. Some fighters would've taken this opportunity to recover, allow
But the Outlander is not most such warriors. And with an opponent like this, she knows better than to hold anything back.
With a step, the bending of the knee and a push, the Outlander jumps upward, lunging towards the bear boot-first. Before she's hit the ground, she's twisted into a backhand, bringing up her staff to stop any retaliation before tossing it skyward and just continuing to lunge time after time at the unfortunate Ursine. The ice gives off a threatening crack as the Outlander presses onward, laying down a rapidfire hail of japs, crying out to emphasise each and every blow as she drives onward. The luckless bear's hide might be tough and scraggly, but the Outlander is strong and has the speed of a devil. It won't take her too long to find her mark.
Spoiler: OOCOkay. This may backfire, but... screw it, screw this bear, screw holding back, screw this entire gods forsaken day, it's Dawn Time.
Fivefold Fury Onslaught. Outlander makes... annoyingly, four attacks. Her initiative total is split between them, rounded up to make each attack equal to the highest one: so that's 4 individual 2i attacks. I'm activating Falling Hammer Strike on each attack, to ensure that even if these all do nothing, the Onslaught penalty stays next round even after the bear has acted, and I'm adding Vicious Lunge onto the final attack, to add 3 damage from the Onslaught.
Will roll damage in the OOC, because there's two more charm effects that boost it, and one is dependent on how these rolls turn out. Also no, she still hasn't flared. Spending the last of Outlander's personal motes on the charm's activation and first attack, that's 3 peripheral. 1 mote each on the subsequent two attacks, and 2 on the fourth.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Amber eyes track the flying, screaming knives. With ears folded back and teeth bared in a feral grin, Decks steps forward and swipes at the first blades. Twisting his torso, Decks lets the next ones fly past him and hit the snow behind him. Jumping up, the Lunar narrowly avoids the dagger aimed at his thigh only to place his shoulder in the path of another of the shiny projectiles. A clawed hand swipes out and knocks the blade off its trajectory, and a single claw hooks the ring-pommel.
Landing with a foot on either side of the knife embedded in the ground, Decks holds a single knife.
Spoiler: OOCI am spending 4m to boost Parry and another 1m to activate Agile Beast Defense. Every 1 that is in the attack roll adds +1 to Decks’ Defense.
Edit: That gives Decks 9 Parry.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Decks tosses the knife aside and charges at Siev. Right before impact, the leopard man let his feet slide out from under him. With the momentum, Decks slides between the Fae's legs with his claws dragging across the tendons and ligaments surrounding both knees.
Once clear, he digs his claws into the flesh of the floating beast's bleeding flesh and turns to face the Fae while on all fours, legs and arms bunched and ready to spring him forward at a moment's notice.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Seiv is so thrown by Decks' nonchallance that he barely reacts in time for the leopard-man's attack. He leaps upwards, but is too slow to evade the claws. His leggins are torn and silvery blood begins pouring down from painful scratches, and the hobgoblin lets out a shriek of terror. The fae-prince is almost completely flat-footed.
Down on the ground the water-bears are in dire peril. One of the bears among the Moonblades makes a roaring charge through their ranks, attempting to gain open space. The other staggers to its feet and tries for a swipe at the nearest icewalker, a Wolverman.
Back at the Caravan, the torn-faced ursidae bellows in pain and tries to bite Walda.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
"Make way! Make way!"
The Moonblades may be more accustomed than most armies to fighting monsters, but they know their limits. They part before the charging bear's rush, not in a panic, but in an ordered withdrawal, ranks splitting neatly to admit its passage.
Spoiler: OOCThis may be a touch too optimistic; their base Resolve is only 2, and while an Intimacy might apply to boost it, I haven't actually defined their Intimacies, and inventing one on the spot to help them out would seem... very self-serving.
If they're affected by this intimidation, I'll edit.
The wolverman targeted by the other water-bear snarls a feral challenge back at the beast and raises his axe above his head, catching the bear's downward swipe on its haft. His brothers and sisters brace at his shoulders, throwing the weight of their bodies behind his block, the Moonblades standing as one against animal might.
Meanwhile, Walda feels certain he could dodge the wounded bear's lunge, but, with a flash of pride, he holds his ground.
"No, no, Sir Bear," he taunts, "I told you, it is too late now. You missed your chance."
As the massive bear's jaws begin to close around him, he holds both his swords out, blades pointed in opposite directions. He wedges the crescent guard of his right-hand sword beneath his left-hand sword's guard, bracing moonsilver against moonsilver, and the bear's fangs meet unyielding metal.
"I don't go down easy," he says, holding the bear's mouth open, its deadly teeth at bay.
Spoiler: OOCThis stunt makes sense in my head, though possibly only in my head. Walda's enhancing his Parry with Agile Beast Defense for 1m from Personal. Since WB1 is lower-Initiative than Walda, it grants +1 Defense (raising Walda's Parry to 7, 8 with a one-point stunt), and if Walda's defense succeeds it will give him +1 Initiative (raising him to 4, since his Decisive attack this round reset him to base).Last edited by Ascension; 2019-09-30 at 11:04 PM.

"Nice try!"
The Outlander's staff falls back to her just as the bear rears up. The stranger catches it with both hands, bringing her feet back and bracing. When the bear strikes, its paws are caught against the wood, its strength matching the Outlanders as it tries to push her downwards. For all its heft and bulk however, the staff was holding firm. The ice continues to crack and splinter, but the strange traveller doesn't waver. She just looks straight into the bear's eyes.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
While their withdrawal may have been orderly, the monstrous bear's ferocious charge had its effect on the Moonblades. The bandits nearest that beast shy from it, giving it space, urging their fellows to focus on bringing down the other bear first.
Those surrounding that other bear are not so cowed. While a knot of wolvermen hold its deadly claws at bay, their fully-human comrades strike at its flanks, hacking at its thick layer of protective fat with biting axes and thrusting swords. Individually, their weapons might mean little to the mighty beast, but each stroke draws blood, and even a creature of the water-bear's size only has so much blood to lose.
Spoiler: OOCOhh, I am loath to lose the attack against the other water-bear, but I'll respect the impact of the intimidation.
The Moonblades do, however, swarm WB3. This is technically a Withering attack, however, since WB3 is Crashed, any post-soak damage the Moonblades do will apply directly to its health track.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
On the roiling back of the spooked yeddim, a pressure like a gathering storm filled Adorei's legs. His clothes stirred, his eyes paled, he gathered his strength and in a single explosive movement he lept. Pale mists swirled in his wake as he flew, blurring his silhouette against the Northern sky, and it was a creature half made of smoke that landed on the great sky-whale next to the hobgoblin. Black hair and pale eyes flashing, Adorei didn't stop moving. He reached out, grabbing hold of the hobgobiln as he stepped past it and turned, twisted, and levered the foul creature out into the empty air.
Or, at least, that's the intent. For all his hours of practice and esteemed tutors Adorei had never been an especially talented martial artist; he could only hope that his forms would prove sufficient - if the next step of his plan were to work, he couldn't afford to have the jabbering creature behind him.
Spoiler: CharmsUsing the Air Aspect anima power to leap up onto the sky-whale (5m, puts him at Glowing), then making a Grapple attempt with a 4m excellency. If the attempt is successful, spending 2m on the Control roll, and if the Control roll succeeds Adorei will try to throw the hobgoblin off of the sky-whale.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Adorei's leap carries him to the top of the floating wyld-beast, landing softly so that only Decks, who is facing him, is aware of his presence. He creeps up on the capering hobgoblin, and then is upon the green-furred beast. He establishes an arm-lock, his feet twist around the hobgoblin's ankles, he has the wyld-minion securely held...but nothing more. The strange monster is oddly sturdy and though surprised, will not be moved, and indeed is already on the verge of escaping. He opens his fanged mouth and shrieks. "AAAAAH! MASTER! I AM COMPROMISED! YOU! INSIGNIFICANT GNAT BEFORE MY GLORIOUS LIEGE'S MAGNIFICENCE! YOU DARE LAY A HAND ON THE LORD OF THE THISTLE DOWNS' MAJORDOMO!? YOU WOULD DARE THREATEN ME, TRAVOLTA!?"
Spoiler: OOCSo Adorei landed everything except the control, which the Hobgoblin (Travolta) won handily. He is grappled for now, with all the penalties that entails, but will escape on his next turn. Speaking of which...

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Walda briefly glances away from the bear he's struggling with, looking up toward the sky. He's not certain what's going on, but it seems that things are getting interesting up in the sky, while he's stuck fighting a stubborn beast who doesn't know when to quit.
"Sir Bear, we really ought to wrap this up."
He leaps back from the bear's still-open jaws, swiftly and forcefully wrenching free the blades with which he wedged them open, doubtless giving the creature an awful toothache in the process.
"By now, even you should be able to see how this goes. You try to hurt me, you fail. I try to hurt you, I succeed."
Walda twirls his swords, sending drops of the bear's blood splashing off of them.
"If you keep sticking around, I might start to think that you like the pain."
Spoiler: OOC and RollOkay, I'm doing something a little different this time. This is a Withering attack, but rather than boosting my attack roll, I'm using the Strength Excellency to boost raw damage. It's not much of a stunt, but I'm hoping the "swiftly and forcefully" above is enough to let me add Dexterity into the calculation for my Excellency cap, since I want to spend 3m on the Excellency, and the dice cap would otherwise limit me to 2 (because of unkind rounding rules).

Outlander ducks back from the lunging bear, slowing a little, but still managing to keep her pace brisk. Her eyes now are starting to betray some faint irritation. Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The bear overshoots, but the force of his lunge is enough to draw the Outlander back. The two combatants face each other, the hole off to one side. The Outlander glares at the bear - it may not be some Wyld formed abomination, but it's proven itself more than intent on eating her. It'll be a threat to the people on the hillside, just as its brothers are, unless she ends its life here quickly and decisively.
The traveller sighs, stepping forward and bowing her head to the animal. "It's time to end this."
With those words, the woman's eyes dissolve into pools of light, featureless and stern. The bear can feel some unseen force in the air tighten and grow heavy: below them the ice sheet as a whole gives way with a krak, as golden light rises above the lake and the four quarters of a mighty shield begin to take shape. The stranger's clothes shimmer for a moment, faint old realm runes playing across them in strands of silver before fading away once again. Upon her brow now burns the radial sun-mark that denoted a general in the armies of a World That Was, lit in fire as gold as the daystar itself.
The Outlander doesn't notice the water rising up around her. It's a mild distraction really - she can't fall. The only path of a true traveller is forward, and thus the shining champion of the sun launches herself forward, straight into the bear. Her first kick knocks the luckless ursidae back, and she doesn't content herself with that, twisting round into first an elbow strike, then a backhand, lunge, knee strike, into yet another kick and by that point, even Sol likely couldn't follow the unending torrent of violence. As the ice keeps giving awy, the Outlander pivots around her staff, kicking and pushing against a handful of stable bobbing islands to keep her momentum going. Splintered glinting shards are blown back as the bear is knocked through the frozen surface of the lake by this unrelenting assault. Before long the spray of water starts to turn a strangely garish pink as frothing blood mixes into the whitewater, each blow seemingly stronger than the one before it.
This is what the stranger looks like when she stops holding back. Witness the Chosen of the Sun, and tremble in her shadow.
SpoilerOkay! Combo time.
Rampage Bear-serker Attack! Fur-ious Jab. And of course, Fists of Urs-iron Technique. Outlander's attack does nine dice of damage to the water bear, and for every success she scores over its defense? She attacks again. Each one's another 9 damage blow. And its defense, thanks to Hammer on Anvil last turn, remains penalized to 0, so it's just '9 damage per success.'
Oh yes, and I'm activating a full Excellency on this roll. So if I can get 12 successes or over, I'll be rolling over one hundred damage dice on this.
Now note. This crashes Outlander. You can self-crash in Ex3 - core p194 confirms you can crash by spending i on charms. The Charms chapter confirms you can't spend initiative you don't have, and Perilous charms can't be activated in Crash period, but you can spend down to 0 by activating a charm which is what Outlander's done. One I more or less would've left that impossible, but that's how it's shaken out. Thus WB2 has gained an initiative break bonus (as the main enemy she's fighting, he's considered to have crashed her) rising to 8, and Outlander's count is set to -5, but if Outlander can now crash WB2, she triggers Initiative Shift. Which means her turn is reset and she can immediately act again.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The Bear does not buckle under the Outlander's onslaught, it collapses entirely. All four paws splay out as the Ursidae utterly fails to resist the rain of blows pouring upon it, cracking the ice below. With an ominous rumble, the ice below it cracks, and the bear lists to one side. It spies its chance, and groggily flops into the ice-cold water.
Spoiler: OOCMoving its action up a bit, but it was going to go in this block anyway, WB2 is attempting a disengage into the water.
Spoiler: Roll(8d10)[2][6][2][6][1][8][9][4](38)
From within the whirlwind, a voice, or maybe multiple voices ring out. "WE KNOW THAT POWER! NIMBUS, IS IT YOU!? NIMBUS, IF YOU CAN HEAR US, DEFEND ME! WE DID NOT INTEND TO DRAW THE FAE, DRIVE IT FAR FROM HERE!"
As the voice rings out and the ice cracks threateningly, Siev's elegant face flashes with excitement, desire, perhaps a little fear? It's hard for Decks to tell, through all the pain the Lunar inflicted. Siev readies a knife to throw...then turns and runs, making a flying leap up and off the side of the Wyld creature.
Down below, the Water Bear facing Walda cannot help but feel for its comrade. Still, it is not yet time for a proud bear to retreat. It swipes at the Moonblade-leader with a mighty paw.
Spoiler: OOC & RollsMaking a Withering attack against Walda, at a -1 for wound and I believe a -2 for Crippling penalty.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The echoing, booming chorus almost knocks the Outlander sideways. It quite distracts her from the fight, her mind seizes on the words, the power that being had felt... and the name.
"Nimbus? Am I... Nimbus?"
Hard to tell. She should ask later. For now, the Outlander looks over at the struggling water bear. It's almost sad to see the creature this nervous, the fight beaten out of it by blow after blow. As the ice around them cracks, and the bear winces in pain, the Outlander raises her staff and... gently brings it down beside the water bear's paw, scooching it that small remaining way to safety beneath the water. The strange Solar smiles at her defeated opponent, before wheeling around and springing with light, fast footfalls across the splintering ice field.
She has an old friend to meet. And before that, a Prince to punch.
Spoiler: OOCSo yeah, not contesting the Disengage, will roll to help the bear if possible. Using Outlander's reflexive movement action this round to bring her closer to Siev's landing spot, ready for next round.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The sight of Siev running has Decks grinning. The Fae Prince may think he can escape, but this fight has become a game of cat and mouse. Decks loves toying with his prey.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The Ursidae slides gratefully into the water, too exhausted to protest. It will think again before underestimating such prey.
Up above the battle, Siev's leap carries him out and away from his lazily circling mount. There's a high keening whistle on the air, identical to the noise of his thrown blades from a moment ago, and suddenly a great white owl is upon him. The Fae Prince is gently caught in the creature's talons as it silently beats its wings, huge tawny eyes surveying the scene below. It looks keen to leave, and Siev seems happy to let it do so.
Back upon the wyld beast, caught in Adorei's grasp, Travolta wails pitiously. "MASTER! I UNDERSTAND, GO IF YOU MUST, LEAVE POOR TRAVOLTA TO HIS CRUEL FATE! IF I CAN, I SHALL SLAY THESE PHILISTINES AND RETURN TO YOU!"“Sorry for making things complicated!”

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
The Outlander grimases as she sees Seiv's owl. Hopefully he means to withdraw, but if he pushes forward, he might make it to the voice. Might kill the voice. She can't risk it. Her once chance is to ensure, as best she can, that the Fae Prince and his minions vacate the area entirely while she investigates just what the creature, or creatures, within the wind are seaking.
As Seiv's owl swoops across the battlefield, the Prince of the Thistledowns' gaze meets the once more glowing gold orbs of a Lawgiver, as he sees the Outlander charging towards him. The two lock eyes, as the Solar slows to a stop, standing before Seiv and his imperious mount. The Outlander is first to break the staring contest, glancing back across the remaining ranks of water bears, then up at the strange spherical mount Seiv has left behind. Finally her eyes turn back to the Fae Lord once more, and the Solar speaks a single word. A quiet word, but one whose echo carries across the battlefield on an impossible wind.
"Flee."
The shield hanging in the air above lights up, its outline flashing a blinding gold as the Outlander's essence charged word surges outward. Across the battlefield washes an unseen wave of spiritual pressure, a tide of fear and anger that strikes the very hearts of the attacking forces. They feel the chill certainty of a warrior's intent and will to kill each and every one of them, as cold and as resolute as the icy towers of Sezakan. Creatures such as the Ursidae might not speak the tongues of man, but all beings in Creation and beyond learned one fundamental truth generations ago, one that remains imprinted upon their essence across space and time.
The Dawn Caste are to be feared.
SpoilerIntimidate! Multiple target penalty, but Outlander is targeting everything on the opposite side. Seiv, Travolta, the two mounts and the remaining three Ursidae. Stunt bonus and Dawn bonus counteract the -3 group penalty. Gonna spend yet one more WP for an Autosux and Outlander's last remaining 8 motes on the Excellency

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Though the Moonblades are valiant enough to take a stand against creatures such as the water-bears, they are sensible enough not to pursue the beasts without need. When their foes turn to flight, they let them go.
Walda laughs as the bear he's engaged with fights on, twirling out of the way of its swinging paw with a dancing step.
"Look around you, Sir Bear! How stubborn must you be to keep trying your hand at me when all your fellows flee!"
Spoiler: OOC1m on Agile Beast Defense; +1 Defense since the bear is at lower Initiative, and a successful defense grants +1 Initiative. I'm using Walda's Evasion rather than Parry this time, but that's still 7 total with a basic stunt.
This is just Walda's defense; I'll post his action when I've confirmed this worked.Current Games:

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Walda himself feels a shiver of fear when the stranger... the Champion of the Dawn... commands their foes to flee, but he wonders... can he allow the Fae prince to get away so easily? Perhaps the stranger thought he was simply lost when he took to the air... but such is no obstacle to one who can himself become an owl, if not one so large as the creature who carries Siev.
The Fae are monsters... that much he understands, even if he doesn't understand all this business with the speaking storm, the magic soapstones, and so on. He's obligated to try?
"I'm sorry, Sir Bear, I'm afraid I can't continue this dance," he says. "I have somewhere else to be."
In a trice, as quick as he can manage, he trades his skin for feathers, his blades for talons. He screeches a challenge toward Siev as he pushes off from the ground, swift wings straining to catch up with the fellow-owl bearing the Raksha away from the battlefield. Lunar essence flows into his bird-shape's burning muscles, supplementing his strength, but will it be enough to make up for his foe's head start?
Spoiler: OOCOkay, so... I'm Flurrying shapeshifting (Miscellaneous action) and a Rush against Siev (with a reflexive move in Siev's direction in between to bring Walda within range for the Rush). Per your previous ruling, Sticks, since I'm moving toward another opponent I don't need to Disengage from the water-bear first. Shapeshifting costs 4m. I'm using Cunning Beast-Warrior Reflexes for 2m to reduce the Flurry penalties, and another 2m on the Dexterity Excellency, for a total expenditure of 8m.
Since this is an ordinary Rush, success won't bring me into Close range with Siev; rather, if I succeed on the contested roll, then when Siev moves on his turn, it will allow me to reflexively move as well, maintaining Short range (so that then, on my next turn, I could hypothetically catch up).
Spoiler: RollThe Owl's combat movement pool is 9 (two above Walda's Rush pool, so two of those count as dice from Charms), -2 for the Flurry, +2 Excellency, +2 stunt, dice pool of 11.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Siev gives Outlander a look, only a look, but it conveys volumes. With her single word, she set a path ahead of him. He knows he should flee, in fact it's what he will do, but it's not the last time she'll see him. He'll be there every step of the way, her foil, her shadow, he will learn her every movement and she will come to know him, oh yes, the stories that shall be told of the...is that a bird?
Seeing the silver-winged owl flying straight for him, Siev decides to make good on the oppertunity Outlander was giving him, and urges his new steed onward. No chance of an exquisite rivalry if he's unceremoniously killed now, which is a possability that hadn't occured to him this morning. He cheks to make sure he still has his soapstone, he does, and they're off.
Spoiler: OOC & RollsSiev's Strix mount is contesting the rush, though Siev's natural magnetism and connection to his 'pets' allows Siev to assist. He got three successes, which adds that many dice to the Strix's roll.
(10d10)[6][10][5][2][4][4][10][1][9][6](57)
Far down below, the wounded Bear Walda left behind is roaring defiantly, until it begins to appreciate the palpable might pouring off of the Outlander. It draws back, wimpering, and begins to crawl for the hole in the ice. Far off, the other two bears make it to the shore-line and begin climbing up the bank of snow churned by the Moonblades in their initial charge.
Hovering above the battle, the Wyld Beast's bleeding has stopped, but the bulbous creature has begin drifting lazily back towards ridgeline, away from the Outlander, carrying Decks, Adorei and Travolta with it. For his part, the Hobgoblin has managed to wriggle free of Adorei's grasp, but has scurried behind the Dragonblood and is giving a truly textbook example of cowering. "Oh, sweet, sneaky Prince of the Earth, do not believe my words a moment ago, I wouldn't hurt you, no no no, you're the reasonable one here. Please, that terrible woman and this horrid beast here, protect me from them! They are your enemies, and I have the ear of a mighty fae lord, spare me and I can help you, just...GET ME OUT OF HERE ALIVE!"“Sorry for making things complicated!”

"YOU BLASTED OWL! THAT'S MY PREY!" Decks yowls. With the bird flying away with his 'toy,' the Lunar turns to Travolta and Adorei.

Re: The Convergence of Sky: An Exalted campaign.
Waldaharjaz isn't able to close the gap as quickly as he'd like to. He isn't fully drained, and he could keep on chasing after the giant owl and its Fae burden, but he has expended much of his power already, and the other owl is much larger than his current form, and the two birds are rapidly leaving behind the enigmatic storm, and Walda's erstwhile Exalted allies, and, most importantly, his faithful Moonblades.
Though responsibility has never sat easy on Walda's shoulders, he knows that his undeniable duty to ensure that his followers face no reprisal from the caravan-head or the mighty Dawn eclipses any imagined obligation to hunt a Fae prince. He gives up the chase, wheeling about to wing his way back to his soldiers' side.Current Games:
