    Deshy finally frees herself from foes. Wandering Storm's bolt goes wide but Zyrn and Three Claw land heavy blows into both swarms. The skeletal rats, no longer having a moogle to savage and being in a fire move over to Zyrn who wards them away with her large weapon.

    The skeletal rats don't budge, but the living rats get flung into the fire. About half of the few that remain burn up in the fire before rushing back out to take their pain out on Three Claw.

    Zyrn pants somewhat, and swings her weapon into the rats again, swinging in a more wild arc, starting to loose her cool a bit. This was insane. Rats shouldn't be so problematic! This was insane! "If you guys finish with those, we could use help. These swarms refuse to die."

    Deshy stand for a second with her foot on the rat's stomach, fists ready to strike when it gets up to bite her again, but it has thankfully stopped moving. She runs over to help with the swarm situation.

    "What's going on? Are the mini-rats immune to weapons somehow?" When she actually sees how the fight is going, the answer seems obvious. "OK, just get out of there! We'll clean them up with fire spells!"

    She joins Storm and Moowgli in roasting the mini-rats, starting with the skeletal ones because she has a better angle on them.

    Together Zyrn and Three Claw smash the remaining skeletal rats into bits.
    Wandering Storm and Deshy send a pair of fire bolts flying at the remaining rat, who dodge the first and get fried by the second.
    With that, the battle is over.

    In addition to the rats themselves, the group finds a small pile of coins half-buried under the roots of one of the trees.

    Three Claw is thankful that the battle is over. He is weary and wants to get back to the safety of the village. Can anyone heal us? If we are to survive , we need to get back as quickly as possible.

    Moowgli shakes his head and stomps his staff on the ground. 2 bushes filled with berries sprout from the ground. He ambles over and begins gourging himself on the fruit, his wounds healing before their eyes.

    Zyrn watches this spell as it was preformed, and mimics it, using her 1 real class feature for the first time, causing another 10 berries to sprout from the bushes. Zyrn reach out and plucks one, and eats it. It was good! And there was a feeling of relief. Zyrn takes a few more, and sure enough, very slowly, 1 berry at a time, her wounds close. She takes 5 berries in total from her outgrowth, and regains 5 hp, putting her at 10/11hp. If the other 5 berries from her mimicked spell aren't eaten, she'll ear 1 more.

    A short time later you continue on. After a few hours of walking the land transitions into a savanna. In the distance you can just begin to see the town of Huster. About a minute later several creatures suddenly appear before you. Before anyone can even react, a weasel and a jackal rush up to Deshy and Three Claw.

    Deshy punches a weasel into the underbrush, never to be seen again. Moowgli hurls a rock at one of the small mechanical pheasants, breaking one if its wings.
    The other one runs over to Deshy and scratches her with a metal talon that hurts less than she might have expected.
    Zyrn notices the long grass part a bit in a line heading straight towards her and then just stopping right in front of her.

    Zyrn sighs audibly as they find their way t ok yet another combat, half amused, half irked by it. As a character, Zyrn was ready to be dkne fighting, as a player, having been KOd by rats, she wasn't too confident right now. But such were the tendencies of games that relied on randomization in attacks and such, let alone equipment that started you off with sizeable debuffs. Zyrn would approach one of the strange oozing monster things infront of her, and slash at it with her greatsword.

    Three Claw kills a jackal, just in time to have it replaced by three more foes to face.

    Zyrn ignores whatever weirdness she saw and goes to directly confront the weirdness plain as day before her. By hitting it with a sword. It was a bit tougher than it looks and its horrid shrieking is about as ugly as it looks too.

    Wandering Storms poison/fire combo drops both of the hyenas, but the gross thing next to Zyrn seems completely unaffected.

    The one ugly thing joins the other in punching at Zyrn. One misses, but the other hits her hard enough it almost knocks the wind out of her.

    Moowgli thinks he sees some movement in the grass to the south east.

    Zyrn kills one of the gross things before her. As she does she feels as if something tried to strike at her, but missed because of how she moved for her own attack.
