Oh, man, I was fortunate to be free at work when the new strip was published. (I may have a Twitter alert set up for this.)

I'll need to read it again to have more detailed thoughts, but I love that Roy and Belkar are having this conversation-- albeit under probably the only circumstances Roy would-- because it's been a long time coming and a long process of who these characters are growing to the point where they can.

Glad to get some Roy/Belkar emotion in, (and another comic, we can abandon the old thread and have some fun derailing this on).

I'm saying this distressingly often lately, but Belkar has a point.

I mean come on Roy, you shouldn't have needed a charity Mind Blank to take on some vampires at your level!

Interesting that Belkar can see what's going on in Roy's life and how it affects his fighting. And Roy almost paid B a compliment I think.

I'm really happy with how much character development that Belkar has gotten over this book so far, it's interesting seeing him be more then just a homicidal ranger.

I simply loved this passive-aggressive relationship between B and R. Especially after the lecture Belkar had by Shojo.

How does Roy know about the thing with the dinosaur? Belkar deliberately kept it secret.

    In Vino Veritas, or something.

Nice bonding here. First time they've really bonded, heck, that anyone really bonded with Belkar. Except for animals and dinosaurs and such.

Roy really should learn to be more like Belkar.

Not the time in the Arena, the time in Windy Canyon, where they were being attacked by Tarquin's army. Belkar tamed the dinosaur there, and named him Bloodfeast.

I'm sure that when the dinosaur started listening to Belkar during the big battle, he figured that there was something going on between them.

He did the thing with the dinosaur in front of Roy. In the pit. Roy was afraid since it was ranger thing to do. Battle with Nale's father

So much for it being the "wrappy-uppy hugs-and-kisses part."

And yes, I know Belkar has been an obnoxious jerk for most of the comic's history, but I feel like if Roy listened better here the outcome might have been better.

Who would've guessed that Belkar, of all people, would ever say that he doesn't know what he wants? Poor guy. It used to be all smiles and stabbings for him, and now he's caught a bad case of character depth.

Belkar has never met Eugene, has he? Sorry, B but Roy is way ahead of you when it comes to being talked down to.

Belkar does have a point that Roy could get more magic. It’s not like he’d stop being a Fighter by doing that.

Also I’m blanking on who the bald dude with a scar is supposed to be. A dwarf?
