"Yes, let's deal with these spiders first before we investigate the door with the symbol on it. I'd hate to get surprised while we're trying to figure out a way in."

He turns to go in through the spider webs.

Megil mused "This is the Astral Plane. An Archmage's tower. We've encountered a major demon and a tough golem so far. It will not be spiders. Whatever it is will die like the rest, though." He shifted his sword balanced on his shoulder. "I agree with leaving the warded door alone for now."

Kore walks up to the open passage, shining his Daylight into the darkness. "Be my guest."

The door, while off its hinges due to the webbing, is still in place, obscuring vision and passage. From looking, you're unsure if there's webbing behind the door or if it's an unobscured passage. You'll need to choose some way to bypass the door, which perhaps might alert or affect whatever might be inhabiting the room...

How are you going to get past the door and perhaps the webs?

Granite

As the others open a crack in the door, Granite looks in and creates a bonfire on the other side of the door, hopefully burning the webs away.

"We should all back up a little so we're not in any burning webs."

Everyone can see a little light through the crack in the door and hear the crackling fire as it starts to burn.

Kore leans back and keeps his eyes focused to the left and the right, watching the hallways and the arcane door while the fire burns before them.

Megil took a ready position, waiting for any monsters to come at them. He idly wondered what sort of creature it was. Was there some sort of spider demon? Didn't drow worship one? He was confident they could kill it anyway.

The fire ignites, a sound of a thousand spiders hissing and burning fills the air. You see what could be hundreds of arachnids pour out to escape the flames, diving into the cracks in the walls, but many do not make it. The door itself scorches until it falls backwards.

Behind the half-charred remains of the door and smoldering remnants of web lies a cramped looking circular room. The walls are lined with thick webs still, but thick, blue-tinted glass on the ceiling shows the swirling rainbow of conceptual thought and nebula-like bands of cosmic wind that compose the Astral Plane. In the center of the room lies a cluster of corpse upon corpse, spun up and sucked bone-dry, appearing to be very, very old. That's all you can see from the entrance.

What do you do?

Kore walks to the threshold but does not enter, illuminating the space with his Helm of Brilliance.

[Basically I'm going to cast fireball if anything big moves]

Granite

Granite carefully follows Kore into the room, not directly, maybe 10' behind. He looks around, including up, to see if there is any danger.
