Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
It feels so weird having this much freedom, but I'mma go with the "roll or 32 PB" scenario that Samduke described:
Spoiler: rolls

Uh, wow...Point buy it is!
...I swear, I haven't seen a decent set of rolls from anybody for like three recruiting threads...Last edited by tonberryking; 2019-11-22 at 08:02 AM.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Any objection to me building the gnome cleric who recruits the other PC's to the cause? Or do you already have something in mind for that NPC?

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Are the books Untapped Potential and Hyperconscious allowed? Unless I can think of some homebrew I want to use soon I'm probably making a Psychic Warrior.
Ugh wish I had a better way of figuring out what homebrew you were familiar with rather than using the process of elimination.Last edited by YuweaCurtis; 2019-11-22 at 11:15 AM.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2064077 <-- Working sheet for a were-tiger (ranger/warshaper) after some deliberation.
I am mostly just playing it straight apart from a couple details:
- Using a "Two Handed Weapon" combat style, which is a little homebrew but boils down to me taking feats from the Power Attack tree instead of TWF or archery related ones.
- Took the liberty of turning the three feats from her were tiger side into different ones; warhsaper gives me the same benefits as most of the feats and otherwise her skills will *tank*
- Assuming she gets the +4 skill benefits from were tiger in hybrid and animal form, but not the pounce/rake/etc. ones which were specified to be animal only because again, her skills suck
Character wise I'm working out a story of some foolish wood elf who purposely went and got herself lycanthropized in order to deal with a crisis plaguing her homeland, but it didn't go too well, and her rampages sort of made things worse. She self exiled herself (and might have even self-imprisoned herself in a cave or something) until the gnome cleric in the game's pitch convinced her to do something better with her life. I just want to play a giant tiger woman with a Buster Sword; it's not optimized because she's only using her nat weapons as auxillary rather than me make a build with TWF/huge claws, and I had to opt out of barbarian for skill purposes and because I didn't want you to have to deal with a PC pushing 40 str and nothing else going for her, but I'll have fun with this one.Last edited by tonberryking; 2019-11-22 at 11:14 AM.

Going to join the rolling bandwagon since many people are into it. Will take PB if suck.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
If you're up for monsters as PCs, I have an Arcadian Avenger from Monster Manual V on slate. They have 8HD and an LA of +2, so they're just perfect for an ECL 10 game.
The completed sheet can be found here. I used a 32 point buy and standard 49,000 gp wealth by level guidelines for constructing her. She ended up being a pretty simple flying beatstick. With my dying breath

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
No objection
I did not think it would be so hard. When I say or think 'homebrew' it for like the couple hundred items, spells, feats and such that I've made or seen online over the years.
I DON"T think of the dozens of base classes of dozens of paragaraphs with tons and tons and tons of new alternate rules that utterly transform D&D into another game all together.
Kobolds, but also mercenaries and conjured monsters.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Oh, not interested in classes at all? Fair enough.
No problem, but just so you're aware - when most people on this site talk homebrew, they are including classes, subsystems, feats, races, items, spells, etc. You have a slightly narrower definition than the assumption many here might make, which is why there has been so much confusion.
I only bring this up so you know that people aren't attempting to be difficult, there was just a little misalignment of expectations.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Posting interest. Not doing anything crazy - are the complete books (warrior, mage, rogue) fair game? Will configure stats once I'm home.
Thinking some type of mix with fighter (dungeoncrasher - from dungeonscape) and ranger. Likely finishing into Kensai (complete warrior). Does this sound okay for your campaign pitch?Last edited by 3drinks; 2019-11-23 at 02:28 PM.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Just so I'm clear, did that include my request of a Two-Handed weapon combat feat progression for a ranger and swapping were-tiger feats? Are you not okay with that?
Actually, I'm withdrawing interest. You guys have fun though.Last edited by tonberryking; 2019-11-23 at 08:49 PM.

Re: Classic Adventure(3.5)
Here, as aforementioned, is a possible candidate for the gnome cleric who is bringing together the heroes to strike back against the invaders.
"Shanks the Clown" - Dubetz Stephens
Spoiler: ConceptYou know the archetype of the clown who turns out to be horrifying? Here's an attempt to reverse the trend - a man who spent a lot of his youth being horrifying, and is now working very hard to get back to just being a children's clown.
Spoiler: MechanicsThis is mechanically a toned down version of the killer gnome build. He provides healing and utility casting, and relies on shadow magic for most of his offense. Shanks can be scaled up or down power wise in order to match a group.
Shanks the Clown (Dubetz Stephens)
Male Neutral Gnome Cleric / Shadow Adept / Shadowcraft Mage, Level 10 (6/1/3), Init 7, HP 60/50, Speed 20'
AC 17, Touch 13, Flat-footed 15, Fort 12, Ref 8, Will 19, Base Attack Bonus 4
+1 Dagger (Eager Enchantment) +1 (1d3-2, 19-20)
Shadow Mage Armour (+4 Armor, +2 Dex, +1 Size)
Abilities Str 4, Dex 14, Con 16, Int 12, Wis 22, Cha 16
Condition Shield of Faith - converted to Silent Image/Mage Armour
Greater Resistance
Spoiler: BackgroundDubetz spent the early years of his life honing his understanding of illusions. Then spent most of his early adulthood travelling from city to city, under cover of being a performer at children's parties under the name 'Shanks the Clown', while secretly using his powers as an assassin at night. Occasionally, this broadened out into the worlds of dungeoneering, espionage and monster-hunting.
As he got older, though, he realized that he actually liked his cover work as an entertainer more than the hired killer part. He retired from assassin work entirely and settled down. For years now, Shanks has done free illusion-based shows in the main city square of the gnome kingdom, at 10am and 2pm on weekends, and made himself available for private functions on special request.
Then the evil army came and overwhelmed his people. Dubetz did his best to defend his homeland, but there were simply too many of them. He has fled now, seeking help from others as he once helped.
Spoiler: Appearance
An old gnome with a long shabby coat and purple boots smiles wearily at you. He is wearing heavy face paint that darkens his face and twists his mouth into an exaggerated grimace of sadness. He's holding a battered wide-brimmed hat in his hands, twisting the brim nervously.
Spoiler: PersonalityDubetz is a kind-eyed old man who moves and speaks with a world-weariness that speaks volumes about the horrors he has seen. While the recent was has galvanized him back into action, there's still a new softness born of old age and a kind of second childhood that he has to overcome in order to do the awful things required of someone who's going to liberate his homeland. In short, he's much nicer than anyone who has killed as many people as he has should be (think Leon the Professional).Despair favours the status quo. It is a luxury we cannot afford. ~ Andrew Nikiforuk
