Greetings Hoplathemighty, and welcome back to the world of Call of Cthulhu, a world of horror, mystery, and wonder. Here you shall take on the role of an intrepid Investigator of the Unknown (or Investigator for short), while I shall be the Keeper of Arcane Lore (or the Keeper).

Now that you've understood the basic rules and themeatic aspects of the game, having played the introductory adventure. Prepare to journey onto your first freeform scenario -- Paper Chase! This is a mystery set in 1921 where you are the main character. For the purposes of guiding you, I may very rarely make small notes at the bottom of my posts, but these will be far more rare than before, so I hope you're prepared to think for yourself!

Several religious bodies utilize stars in some format as a depiction of devotion to the sky. However, the eye in the middle is a strange development. Such insignia would mean that there's a watcher in the skies? In addition, there's also the possible interpretation that the star is similar to that of a pentagram and the eye is trapped inside? Meaning that the star binds the watcher in the skies? It's unclear exactly what purpose it would be used for.

Is this meeting with Mr. Merriweather an informal interview? I'm a little confused, I thought the university passed on my job.

The position might have been filled? They're revoking their previous offer? You need an interview?

Essentially instead of you automatically receiving the position, the Miskatonic administration wants to have an interview with you. This discussion with Mr. Merriweather is completely unrelated (he just happens to have been a professor of cultural anthropology). You haven't been passed over, just sort of put back into the waiting list if that makes sense. I apologize that this was unclear.

Also, did you ever make that Occult roll?

Well I was considering going to the Miskatonic University to inquire about Mr. Merriweather before retiring for the evening. If I don't do that this night could I do it the next day?

Oh, yeah, you can do that. Albeit... it's around 8-o'-clock at this point. It's highly unlikely that the administration would be open for questions regarding previous faculty, but you could definitely check it out tomorrow after your interview (which I'll write up now).

Given that you lost a decent amount in the whole Emberhead incident, you've managed to get back to the point where you were before. Regardless, you can purchase mostly whatever you want, as long as it makes sense. So... do you wish to bring anything with you?

I think I'd like to get at least a bag/pack to carry things, a journal or notebook, some writing utensils (pens, pencils, maybe charcoal), a compass if one can be found, a utility knife (like swiss army), some food that is practically nonperishable and a canteen or bottle for water.

I apologize for the lack of a response. I've been sick and so I haven't really been able to formulate anything more than the responses for Alone Against the Flames given that they're mostly pre-scripted.
