    R1T26:
Janiven, with amazing reflexes, leaves the drunken man to his own devices and moves forth towards the sound. As she passes into the cesspit room, she sees the mushrooms to the north and takes out her slightly curved short sword and hops the short channel, hacking down a fungus as tall as the passage that is purple.

R1T18: Tia, what do you do? If you try to say anything, even shout anything, nobody will hear you, and you won't even really hear yourself.

R1T18: Tia leaps into action, leaping across the divide. She trails one hand behind her, a pitch black Scythe forming into its grip, as she maneuvers between the two plants, taking a decisive slash at the eastern one as she does. She spins the Scythe as she turns around, facing the remaining one with a flourish. The one she slashed isn't cut like a real scythe. Rather, it seems as if all the water was sucked out of it and it falls in upon itself, destroyed in a horrible way. Imagine if that scythe struck a living being!

R1T17: Meijen is next to cross into the northern part of the cesspit, drawing his strange, two-handed, curving sword and cutting down the last of the tall plants.

The assumption is that to actually see the scythe, Folco moves into the cesspit room. The drunk stumbles forward behind Morosino so as not to be left behind.

There are noises coming from the northern east passageway.

    Begin Round One ...

    R1T26:
"Morosino," Janiven says while putting away her sword, "Get that light over this way." She steps a few feet to the west and takes out her longbow. "If they are Hellknights, do not kill them. Assault in the sewer can be explained away, but killing a Hellknight might bring in a signifier with magical divination. If you want to get out of here, Morosino, guide them to the west, looking for the signs."

R1T19: Gabriella, what do you do? Are you going to stay and encounter whatever is coming from the north? or, go west to try and find the rebel redoubt?

R1T17: The drunk, still holding his candle in one hand, moves up to block the breech. "I will hold 'em off! Come at me, cretins!"

R1T16: Aldo did not sign up to be a hero. Once they were somewhere relatively safe, he could regroup and figure out what the hell it was he supposed to do now. "Wait up!" he called after the fleeing duo, not out of worry, but rather because his smaller stride would have trouble doing so if he didn't.

R1T15: The first assailant comes charging at the only one it sees - the drunkard. But the drunk is ready for it, and grazes it along the neck for 6. It's not enough to stop it though, and it likewise grazes the inebriate in the left foot with its blade for 2.

R1T10: Tia, it is not a Hellknight you see, or even a human, but a small creature with an oversized head, dressed in muck-covered leather and wielding two, broken short blades of an unknown type. What do you do?

R1T10: Tia breathes a quick sigh of relief. It's not a Hellknight, so she has much less to be afraid of. Considering her options, she spins her scythe with marvelous dexterity as she shifts her fighting stance into an almost supernatural state, making a quick attack with her excessively large weapon that explodes with light and the sound of glass shattering, but with the wall in her way, her scythe is caught against the wall and hits the thing hard ... but its poop-covered armor stops the blow. As she pulls her blade back to her, she calls out to the drunk. "I won't let you die here alone!!"

R1T9: Another of the little warriors comes down the hallway behind the other.

R1T8: Little Morosino bolts to the west, calling for the other two to wait up. Meanwhile, in the cesspit, the only light now is in the drunkard's hand.

(Morosino is now off-map and out of initiative...)

R1T7: A third warrior thing is heard tramping down the hallway.

R1T6: Folco, you see the sunrod heading west with two of the possibly weaker members of the party and a boy, while the more martial types are holding off a force of small-sized creatures. But the heroes here have only a candle to help them. What do you do?

R1T6: Folco spits out a curse in some crackling, primal language. "I've no room to fight, so I'm watching after the others... bring the foe to the fork if you can, otherwise I'm making sure the they don't get themselves killed." He looks between the two groups, putting his vial away... and taking out another.

    End Round 1, Begin Round 2 ...

    R2T26:
Janiven doesn't look to Folco, but says, "Meijen and this stranger and I will take care of these sewer goblins. You and Tia fall back to protect the others." She shoots, and the arrow clatters off the corner. "You with the starknife, fall back so more of us can get to the goblins!"

R2T18: Meijen, who was the one who magically cleaned everyone, does the unthinkable: he jumps into the muck behind the Carefree Carouser and casts a spell. A tiny bead of green sails down the hallway out of view, having missed its target. Considering that elves are not known for their stamina, that might have been a poor tactical choice to jump into possibly disease-ridden filth.

R2T15.1: The Effervescent Ebullient wildly swings with his starknife, nearly stabbing Tia, and stumbles back to where Meijen was a second ago.

R2T15: The lead sewer goblin recovers its footing after that strange collision before stepping forward, still focused on the one that hurt it. "Bree yark!" it shouts threateningly before attacking with both of its blades. The first cuts deeply on the drunk's left elbow for 5, but the drunk probably doesn't notice as he doesn't drop the candle. Still, the previous fall and these two recent wounds are showing on the man.

R2T10: Tia, Janiven asked you and Folco to regroup with the others to protect them. What do you do?

R2T14: Folco dosnt need to be told twice, and runs down the hallway to help the others. [Off-map, out of initiative...]

R2T10: Tia will spin her scythe with a flourish, striking out again at the Goblin in front of her, intending to cleave it in two before she turns tail and follows after the others. But these little bastards are fast and it double parries the scythe with its weapons. As she moves she lets her scythe drop, causing it to disperse into the air as she moves, but not before the thing crits her in the back for 5. [Not off-map, still in initiative...]

R2T9-7: SG2 comes into the dimly-lit cesspit area and moves south but not before Meijen crits it in the right upper arm for 13 ... dropping it before it ever had a chance to do any damage. But SG3 follows closely behind and tries to get past as well, but the drunk grazes it in the left elbow for 5. It then tries a counterattack, but the drunk's slosy movements confuse it.

    End Round 2, Begin Round 3 ...

    R3T26:
Janiven shoots SG3 in the head for 9, dropping it.

R3T18: Meijen engage in swordplay with SG1.

R3T15.1: The drunkard brings forth a terrible display of power in the mind of SG1, but is confused mind can't quite make something scary to a creature that lives in the sewers.

R3T15: The lone sewer goblin takes the better part of valor and withdraws back to the east.

Folco, who figures himself pretty quick, is stunned to find that the figure furthest back is already upon him, after passing what is assumed to possibly be a fellow. The man smells to high heaven, is disfigured with shoddy armor. He swings at Folco with his hand but Folco ducks back well enough.

R1T18: Aldo, you definitely saw a hand or something swing at Folco. That rubbish pile will cost 2 squares to move into, and 2 squares to get out of it (unlike normal, where terrain is usually counted for leaving a square). And you have no idea what is beyond.

R1T17: Folco shouts a call of warning to the others, and steps into a quick thrust against the newcomer...more out of surprise than anything else. His rapier hits through the man's arm, with only mild resistance, but than stabs into his chest, and it seems more damage is caused roughly pulling his rapier out of a man who doesn't seem to have the normal give of a water-sack body under a rusting chain shirt. Folco knows he hurt the thing, but not that badly. He squints into the darkness, trying to recognise just what he's trying to stab. What squints back is a face whose skin is pocked and stretched and dried on the face, and in some cases non-existent. But looking into the man's eyes, he sees no eyes, but rather two faintly red pinpoints of light. It is enough to make Folco fall back a few feet in shock.

R1T15-14: The other vagrant to the north now approaches with surprising speed, without the weight of water in the body to slow him down, stepping into the spot Folco was in a second ago. It slashes at Folco's face and he barely brings his rapier up in time to parry what seems to be a bony hand - the act of parrying alone knocking off flakes of skin that long ago dried almost like paper. Then a third of their number appears from the junction to the east, north of Folco.

R1T13: Tia, with Folco moving back, you now have a straight-look at a man with shriveled features, the majority of whose scalp and skin withered away untold time ago. It turns its head to look down the hall at the heroes standing there bathed in the light of a sunrod (much as it is now itself). What do you do?

R1T13: Tia presses her hands together, and slides them apart in a straight line away from each other, the hilt of her scythe forming once more, with the blade forming a moment later. She spins the scythe around her, aiming to strike the moment she catches it off guard. There is a mild flash of light as the scythe goes through the creature, shattering the bones and destroying the rusted out chain shirt it was wearing. The creature turns into dust.

Once Tia pulls her blade back from her foe, she turns and sprints off, giving more room for her allies to move in on the combat. She sees another two of these to her left, one of which seems to be wounded, but she tactically opens up for a counterattack as she goes to move south of Folco. There is a faint essence of darkness from Tia and the man swings wildly, missing her by a great margin as she takes up a position to protect the exposed rear so Folco doesn't get flanked if more of these hideous man-things come from the south.

R1T11: Gabriella, there is a battle happening, but you only saw a brief glimpse of an enemy before he turned to dust before your eyes from the power of Tia's hideous scythe! What do you do?

R1T11: Gabriella will groan dramatically before leaping over the refuse pit to take up an attractive...I mean defensive position at the door in front of the boy. “Morosino, move back to Tia. Aldo, do you see something I can use as a weapon in that pile of garbage. All I have is this stupid fan!”

But Gabriella sees that she can never clear Aldo, the refuse pile, and Morosino to jump 15' with a standing jump, so she changes that to simply moving forward so as not to hurt Aldo, Morosino, or herself. She then draws her fan, but all of that activity, and with no training in combat, she doesn't have the time to really take up a parrying position.

First, you can't end a jump in a friendly square. Second, even if you rolled a '20' on your untrained Acrobatics, you could never make that standing long jump. Third, and it only really matters at 1st level, but you have to have a BAB of +1 or higher to be able to draw a weapon on the move.

R1T10: Morosino, terrified of what he might have seen, moves back as directed.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

    R2T24:
S2 moves down 5' and ignores Gabriella to attack Folco. It attacks with a bony claw of a hand that Folco deflects, then ripostes to do 2 mod. The creature's entire side is caved in and yet somehow it stands. A second clawed hand slashes out, but misses.

R2T18: Aldo, you are currently in a refuse pile and now Gabriella is forward (and Morosino behind). An enemy stands at the doorway, but seems more fixated south to where Folco had gone. There is no place for you to go to engage. What do you do?

R2T17: "A poor day to be a fencer! I dont think these fiends care much about precision and grace! Folco shouts with dramatic flare. He has an audience, and can't help himself. He reads the creatures movements for a moment, before going in for another swift lunge, stabbing it through the neck, severing the vertebrae, and turning the creature to dust. "I may be able to squeeze past them, if you wish to join the dance," he says back to Tia.

R3T17: "Of course, I suppose I spoke too soon." With a twinkle in his eye, Folco attempts a quick roll past the creature, which doesn't happen, before coming to his feet, whereupon the female of the species claws him in the groin (with only his leather codpiece saving Folco from injury). Having almost been castrated, Folco presses the attack once more and stabs his rapier through her eye and out the back of her skull for 2 mod, before withdrawing the rapier and seeing he didn't do that much damage to her.

R3T14: S3 attacks again, this time clawing Folco's upper right leg for 6, with deep gouges. The pain makes Folco double over, which is enough to dodge the second claw.

R3T13: Tia narrows her gaze at the creature. Clearly it was more of a threat than the others, that seemed to be made of paper. She considers her options, and then calls out to Folco. "You seem to be having trouble, I'm going to pull you out and take your place." With that, assuming he has no complaints, she releases her scythe (which disappears into nothingness), grabs him, and pulls him behind her. The skeleton slashes at him and Folco parries deftly but doesn't have time to do much more as he is deposited behind Tia, safe for now.

Winded and hurt, Folco winces and laughs as he's set back down again. "My thanks. ... Be careful, those claws are sharp." Like a man taking a breather between rounds at a tennis match, Falco digs out a potion and swigs it down, getting 7 healing.

R4T14: The woman turns to the other woman that just whiffed a fan at her. A claw rakes along Gabriella's right thigh in much the same way as happened to Folco, tearing for 4. R4T13: Tia watches the foe that had attacked Gabriella and starts to stride forward to it, gripping her hands together and allowing her Scythe to form. She starts speaking to this foe. "I don't believe you understand, but..." She swings her Scythe in a diagonal path at the foe. "You...." She circles the blade around and swings a second time. "...are fighting..." She spins her blade up above her head and brings it down, hoping to cleave it in two from the top down. "...ME!!!!!!" he yells as she pulls her weapon back into a ready stance. Alas, her weapon clicked against its skull, glancing off the armor on the shoulder, and is deflected.

R4T11: Gabriella staggers back, dripping dark blood from multiple wounds. In doing so, the mindless monster reaches out to claw her. Noticing this, Tia makes a quick maneuver to try and curse the attack, but even in doing so the monster still slashes Gabriela across the chest for 5, dropping her.

    End Round 4, Begin Round 5 ...

R5T18: Aldo considered running. Things were starting to go south and he barely knew these folk. However, the fear that the Hellknights were right on their tail was enough to trap him; he was screwed either way, but he was more likely to take on whatever had fell the noblewoman than a Hellknight, so he stepped forward, attacking the thing as to get a way out, but finding that the wanton-for-water-weight-woman easily ducks Aldo's stage-combat style strike. A strike that is all about excess show to the audience on the windup, and one which Aldo finds is ill suited for mortal combat.

R5T17.5: Morosino surprises with bravery (for a child) as he moves through the trash pile to get to Gabriella, and then takes out one of her healing potions.

R5T17: Folco calls out, "Tia, step back!" but otherwise delays.

R5T14: The skeletal woman, with no end of things to hit coming into her range, now slashes at Aldo. One claw misses, and the other is double-parried by both of his strange little sword constructs.

R5T13: Tia is fuming at this point. She can see in her peripheral vision the collapsed lady, who had fallen trying to escape her pursuer, despite Tia's best attempts to stop it. Folco had taken a nasty hit, Gabriella was down, and this thing was getting on Tia's last nerve. Folco had made a point to want to rejoin the fray, but she hoped it wouldn't have to come to that. She lunges in with a direct strike from her Scythe, giving up on her theatrical fighting style for the moment. And that is just what is needed as a burst of positive energy issues from the scythe to turn the woman into dust!

    R5T11: Gabriella is bleeding ...

    End Round 5, Begin Round 6 ...

    R6T18:
Aldo delays, seeing that Morosino has what Gabriella needs at the ready ...

R6T17.5: Morosino feeds the potion slowly and carefully to Gabriella, healing her for 9 (max)!

    Begin Round One ...

    R1T25:
Erasmus comes tearing out from his far hiding to the place. He is swinging a weird set of balls connected by string and once 40' from his target he lets loose with what is effectively a "Hail, Milani!"* pass. It is a terrible throw, a ridiculous distance for an awkward-looking weapon, and more done out of bluster and threatening than hoping to have actually struck.

R1T20: Hellknight Armiger #3 (A3) jumps off the side of the running board where he was stationed and shoots his light crossbow at the crazed man, the bolt skipping off the studs on Erasmus' studded leather.

R1T18: Meijen pushes out of the light trees he was in and covers the ground fully to the SE corner of the wagon, his great curved sword at the ready.

R1T17: A1 (on the ballista) can't target the closest (Meijen), so targets Erasmus instead, but it is a poor shot. He then takes a bolt that is fixed to the side of the wagon, with the obvious intention of reloading next round.

R1T14: Tia will charge from her hiding place, letting her dagger slide out of her sleeve into her grip as she approaches the closest Hellknight, letting out a quick stab at it. Though A4 was not quite prepared for Tia, she learned a valuable lesson ... armor works. Her thrust is stopped cold by the woman's armor. However, she does realize that the armiger armor is not as good as what it looks. The "plates" are merely hardened leather placed over a backing placed over chainmail, and it is the heavy metal links that paused her attack. The look of the Order of the Rack recruits is pretty good, but only gussied up chainmail ... not plate.

R1T13: A6, sitting on the bench, shoots at Erasmus. The bolt just barely grazes the medium's belly for 1. A6 reloads.

R1T12: Folco, your group's battle is fully underway. Luckily, nobody noticed you, and you even got to see the battle's progress rather than be in hiding. What do you do?

R1T12: Folco knocks back another extract before twirling out from behind his rock. He advances on the closest hellknight, drawing his sword with a flourish.

R1T11: Aldo moved up, his mind blade ready. He rushes towards the closes of the armigers and attacks, hoping to catch them off guard and disable him before he could strike back, but his blade barely clips the armor of the surprised man.

R1T10: A2 hops off the rig and points out at Folco, giving a warning to his brothers, but still has a clearer shot to Erasmus. He does much better as Erasmus' left upper arm gets hit by the bolt for 5. A2 reloads.

    R1T5: Gabriella delays ...

R1T1: A5 hops down off the running board, dropping his crossbow and drawing his longsword. With two hands on the hilt (like the other one that hit Tia) he attacks Aldo. The halfling just barely deflects the larger blade while ducking out of the way.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ...

    R2T25:
Erasmus charges A2 while drawing his starknife, and stabs the Hellknight in the chest for 9, and the man lets out a coughing grunt of pain.

R2T20: A3 shoots at Folco, just missing him. He drops his crossbow and draws his longbow.

R2T19: From within the prison wagon, a male voice calls out, "What's happening? What's going on?"

R2T18: Meijen answers the voice in the wagon. "We are the ... Children of Westcrown, maybe? Remains to be seen. Your second sent us to rescue you."

Meijen makes a gamble, bring his sword back for some type of power strike, but his opens him up to attack from A5, who in turns crits the elf in the left upper arm for 9. Meijen takes it with long groan through gritted teeth, and then completes his maneuver. His curved sword slams against the armiger's longsword, taking a chip of metal out of the blade (3 mod), breaking (not destroying) it. He puts his hand to his arm and prays, "Shelyn, I beseech your aid." Positive energy infuses arm for 3 healing.

R2T17: A1 on top of the wagon spends his entire round reloading the ballista.

R2T14: Tia, what do you do?

R2T14: Tia looks at the fight in question, and then backs up carefully, moving back behind one of the boulders for cover. She kneels behind it, hoping to either draw some into pursuit, or else get a moment to come in with a new tactic.

R2T13: A6 shoots at Erasmus, but the melee throws his aim off. He reloads.

R2T12: Folco, what do you do?

R2T12: Folco rushes forward and engages with the closest guard, sword flashing. "Lay down your weapons and walk away!" It is a sloppy attack that is easily stopped by the chainmail. Hey, he consoles himself, it was worth a shot.

R2T11: Aldo, it turns out that Meijen has some weak healing of some sort. He didn't even cast a spell (though he did call to his deity)! You don't know about elves having any innate healing powers, so this is something you weren't aware of. Meanwhile, Tia quitting the field of battle means that you and Meijen are now outnumbered on this side of the wagon. What do you do?

R2T11: Aldo continued to harry the armiger, hoping to drop this one fast to help even up the odds on this side. He brilliantly feints the man, and stabs through the fake leather plate, into the chainmail, and deliberately along the ribline and to the intercostals to do 6 NL. No real injury, but a little bit of bloodletting, bone bruising, and the beginnings of exhausting the man.

    From "Sneak Attack" (emphasis mine)...

"With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (such as a sap, unarmed strike, or whip), a rogue can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack—not even with the usual –4 penalty."

R2T10-9: A2 drops his crossbow, draws his longsword, and then puts power behind a swing against Erasmus, hitting hard against his studded leather. Erasmus, coming out of a charge, stops awkwardly, and the sword presses in to cut him for 8. Erasmus is sporting some terrible wounds. A4 adjusts a little south when attacking with power ... missing the deft halfling.

R2T6: Signifier Shanwen comes around A4 and calls on Asmodeus to defensively cast a spell, but fails.

R2T5: Gabriella, what do you do? It seems your friends are giving as good as they get, but they are outnumbered, which means they might lose without some help of some kind.
