Glyph of Warding / Heat Metal combo
Curious, lets say you encase a sword loosely in some stone and cast Glyph of Warding on it and use the spell Heat Metal to be activated anytime someone successfully removes the sword.
Can Heat Metal be cast to target the armor of whoever pulls the sword out?

!
If the sword fun can't happen I can cast it on a suit of +1 plate armor and have the activation be when the suit is fully donned!

Re: Glyph of Warding / Heat Metal combo
No. GoW has to target the triggering creature or an area centered on that creature. Heat Metal targets objects.
It's Eberron, not ebberon.
It's not high magic, it's wide magic.
And it's definitely not steampunk. The only time steam gets involved is when the fire and water elementals get loose.

Re: Glyph of Warding / Heat Metal combo
Even if you do work out the targeting, there's an additional problem: Heat Metal only applies the damage once, unless the caster uses bonus actions to apply it again. And a single application of the damage is less even than a Glyph of Warding by itself, with no other spell.
Time travels in divers paces with divers persons.
