Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Something else that's surprised me is just how FAST I've picked up and max ranked multiple Warframes once I got past Mars. It was a BIG deal when I made Rhino, my first new frame after my starting Excalibur. Vauban was something of a fluke as while I was able to get all his blueprints and the Nitain necessary to make him in one fell swoop, it still took a while to collect all the other ingredients he required, and with Oberon it obviously took an incredibly long time to get his blueprints (though now I'm practically tripping over them!).
But then I was able to build and max Nyx, Mag, and now Frost in quick succession, and I have Frost Prime on the way thanks to that Market website you linked me to, some unexpected luck with a void relic and a few coupons for Platinum purchases from the Daily Tribute, plus I have access to the blueprints for, like, a half-dozen other Warframes thanks to my Clan!
Is this...normal? Or am I running before I can walk here, especially since I'm running into difficulty dealing with enemies around 20th level and beyond without the equalizer that is my Torid?"Reach down into your heart and you'll find many reasons to fight. Survival. Honor. Glory. But what about those who feel it's their duty to protect the innocent? Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Nope - progression vs time in Warframe after the initial rocky start can get to nearly vertical gradients once you've hit that sweet spot of 'competent enough to do stuff but still have plenty to level up'. You'll hit a progression cap after a while, at which point, it switches from vertical progress (getting more and more powerful) to horizontal progress (getting more and more flexible).
As an example, once you've got your Inaros, the hardest part of getting an unkillable 6+k health build is the Adaptation mod, at which point, your Inaros is as good as mine. However while you may be able to just take Inaros for a tank on a mission, I would have access to other tanky Warframes (Grendel, Hildryn, Rhino, Trinity, etc) which offer different options to Inaros (e.g. Rhino/Grendel have group damage buffs).
Edit: Ooo, Baro brought Primed Pistol Gambit for PC. If you don't have it and like crit build Secondaries, very much worth getting.Last edited by Brother Oni; 2020-01-17 at 12:31 PM. Reason: Baro brought presents!

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
No, that's pretty normal. I spent a lot of time hanging around Ceres and Jupiter trying out new frames and weapons before moving on. One thing you have to remember about warframe is that there is no 'endgame' in the traditional sense for this type of game. Different frames are not power upgrades of previous frames (although there are overpowered frames, but that's another conversation). Mastery Rank is not like your level, it's really just a measure of how many different things you've leveled up. It doesn't even directly translate to time spent in game, especially if you're not grinding through all the mastery fodder weapons after you've gotten some setups you really like.
Also, I had the same experience getting Oberon. It must have taken me six weeks of dedicated farming to get his parts the first time. Now I sometimes get them all in a single high level survival or defense mission. If you feel like you're struggling with lvl 20 enemies, I would suggest ranking up your base damage mods (serration, hornet strike, etc.) and your base survival mods (vitality, steel fiber, etc.) You don't have to max them at this point, but adding a rank or two can make a big difference when you hit the difficulty spikes at Ceres, Jupiter, and Uranus. When I was first starting, I didn't have much problem adjusting to the enemies at Ceres and even Saturn, but Uranus I felt like I hit a wall until I farmed up what I needed to rank up most of the base mods to one or two less than max.
On the subject of damage types, what I like to do kinda depends on the weapon. If it's a crit weapon or otherwise has a relatively slow rate of fire, I'll go with radiation and sometimes add viral. If it's got a good status chance or high rate of fire, I'll go with corrosive and heat. Since the changes they made to heat damage, though, corrosive and heat seems to be where it's at. I tend to use that on hybrid weapons, too. Although I do still like to keep different damage types on my primary and secondary weapons. The first chapter of The Book of Svarog

Yeah, getting Ash normal is just a manic endeavor.
As for Equinox? Come on. One boss, 8 different blueprints? And Tyl Regor, of all bosses? Talk about having your hopes sink for a quick acquisition.
You probably still need some adjustments to deal with level 20+ mobs. If we could see your primary weapons and their mods, we can give pointers.May you get EXACTLY what you wish for.

Har dee har har!
I finally, FINALLY managed to beat the Tomb Guardian in Sands of Inaros! Now I need to kill 5 Denial Bursas to unlock the last leg...
I'm making Banshee at the moment and building up money and ranks for my stuff to cheese Mastery Rank 9, which will come soon, as well as unlocking relics, more for extra void traces than what's actually inside.
I also ran into the Grustag 3 again, but this time they beat me, since I was solo. Do they do anything besides embarrass you if they win?Last edited by Archpaladin Zousha; 2020-01-17 at 11:24 PM.

Do the Assassination mission on Venus a few times - bursas are guaranteed to spawn up in the balconies, so if you get lucky you can finish that task in one run.

Try them both in the practice runs; see which feels more natural to you.
Glaive has the advantage of not needing any particular frame to work and is a bit more forgiving about detection and stalking.
Banshee has the advantage of making all weapons silent.
Glaive has a range of 30m; Redeemer's a lot shorter.May you get EXACTLY what you wish for.

I see. Random question, can kitguns use skins the way zaws can now, or is that not the case?

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
I have finally gotten around to renaming my Clan!
Union J was chosen by other players - friends of friends of a friend - that I never met, and haven't been online now for over 1,000 days, so I don't feel bad for usurping it from them. We are now The Lionguard, a far more noble and less obscure title than before.
Apologies to Zousha, who seemed slightly surprised by it - the MotD had mentioned it for nearly a week so I hope it hasn't caused any annoyance.
Kitguns cannot; yet, at least. Melee weapons go by type - sword, heavy blade, nikana, etc - so the skins fit over the appropriate animations. Kitguns don't have that sub-division, so the only skins available are for individual weapons.Last edited by Wraith; 2020-01-20 at 03:24 PM.

Updated clan name for both you and (presumably) Zousha.
Sole exception is the Dominion Heavy Blade skin on the Zenistar which was initially bugged, but has subsequently been kept.

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
By the by, Wraith, we may want to drop the "The" from our clan name. It turns out to be included in speech text for bosses like the Sergeant, who told me that "Clan The Lionguard" would be disappointed in my combat performance...I'm sorry if that's pedantic, I have a Bachelor's in English with an emphasis on Literature, so grammar stuff like that sticks out.

Getting close to killing my first Lich, just need to get a Jahu mod then figure out the position of the second two mods. It's taken about 2 days I can't really say I enjoy this system. At least the Ogris I'm going to get out of it looks somewhat interesting.

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
I found out that if you join organized Murmur farming groups, liches are a lot less likely to spawn, which means you can get their weaknesses learned before your lich gets massively leveled up. Saves a lot of time, especially since the better a lich's weapon is, the more likely they can kill the crap out of your team with it once they hit rank 5.
By the way, the devs have confirmed that there will be uses for converted liches in the future. So far, they've said that we'll be able to use them as Railjack crew once the Command intrinsic goes live. Glad I convert every lich that shows up with a duplicate weapon."I don't approve of society, so I try not to participate in it."

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Okay, I've kind of been struggling with the MR9 test: I have a Banshee and a Redeemer, and they're able to get me through the first and second legs of the test okay. In fact the second leg is much easier than the first! But when I get to the final leg, the enemies detect me all the way from the upper platform, and that's where I use up my detection attempts. I could attempt to get my hands on a Cerata and see if that helps, but I'll have to farm more plastids and wait a few days to get it made, but I don't know if that's going to be any more effective. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
The MR9 test is kind of screwy. If I recall correctly, they tweaked enemy detection since it was introduced and never updated the test, making it a lot harder than it should be.
If I recall, I eventually ended up using skiajati and a fairly aggressive strategy to get it done. (Skiajati, the katana that excalibur umbra comes with, has a passive ability that turns you invisible after a stealth kill.) Try modding for lots of attack speed (faster stealth kill animation) and movement speed if you go this route.
The melee 3.0 rework also made it harder for you by removing channeling, which disintegrated bodies.Last edited by Tome; 2020-01-22 at 04:03 AM.

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Unfortunately, MR9 is a test that you can only cheese so far but there are parts of it that can't be helped. Patience and practice are your only friends.
That being said, there's a couple of things in the wiki that helped me:
= Jumping off the stage doesn't count as a "fail", so if you need a quick exit from an encroaching enemy you can do that somewhat safely (although of course you will be replaced nearby in a place out of your control, which might still suck, but at least it's something to try...)
= Go into the game's options menu and change your Field of View slider to extra wide, if you haven't already. It'll be a bit wonky at first, but you'll be able to see a bigger area of the stage at once to help you avoid enemies.
= Hold 'M' to open the full map of the stage, it's translucent so you can leave it open and still fight while seeing where you're going.
Good luck!~ CAUTION: May Contain Weasels ~

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
I DID IT!
It turns out the Redeemer was hindering me more than helping me, as I felt I could get away with a more passive approach, sniping rather than sneaking, and it was much more straightforward to just time my moves so I could run up behind them and hack them with a regular ol' sword! I didn't even NEED to use the stealth kills thanks to Banshee!
You were right, Tome. While I didn't have the advantage of Skiajati's invisibility, an aggressive approach made the test MUCH more bearable!
EDIT: And now I'm struggling with the final fight of Inaros' quest. I did as was suggested, bring my best melee weapon (modded Galatine with corrosion damage) and sidearm (maxxed Lex Prime) and a relatively weak Primary (an unranked, unmodded Braton) but I was not prepared to deal with the Tomb Protector's toxin damage, which killed me pretty quickly, so I ran out of revives again (I was just expecting the clone and didn't know I'd also have to fight an Inaros armed to the teeth with Toxin damage and more rock monsters before that part). Should I just risk using my trusty Torid and dying super-quick when my copy is made with one, or is there something else I can do to make this easier?Last edited by Archpaladin Zousha; 2020-01-22 at 06:36 PM.

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Toxin damage bypasses shields (unless you're Hildryn with overshields) and is reduced by armour. If that's what's killing you, consider bringing a frame which leans more on armour than shields. You can also get a mod that will reduce toxin damage and another that will reduce the toxin's duration.
There's also a few warframes that can cleanse status effects or provide immunity to them. Hildryn, Titania and Oberon, off the top of my head.
Lex Prime is fun, but not a really standout weapon. If you're eschewing your primary to reduce the spectres' damage, I suspect you might be better off relying on your melee. (Speaking of melee, make sure you go run the plague star event that's currently active on cetus a few times. It has some nifty stuff, including probably some of the strongest zaw parts available.)
Could you post some screenshots of your mod setups? It would make it easier to give advice.

The Lex Prime is a perfectly fine weapon, it's just been power-creeped by kitguns and the Euphona Prime. You do need a fairly hefty crit build to get the most out of it though (Primed Pistol Gambit, Hydraulic Crosshairs and Primed Target Cracker), which Zousha won't have.
I still prefer the Lex Prime in some situations as it's hit scan (Plains and Vallis for example).

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
Isn't that a little out of order? Like, I should have done more Plains content (especially the Saya's Vigil quest) and beaten Vay Hek's boss fight to have the proper narrative context established? And I need to build the Archwing Launcher before even going NEAR an open-world area like the Plains? I'm kind of avoiding doing other quests until I have the one I'm currently on (Sands of Inaros) finished, and I'm kind of worried if I start on the open-world area now I'll get sucked in and it'll take YEARS before I go back and finish the Inaros quest, which messes up the narrative flow I'm trying to establish, however painful that is in an MMO.

Re: Warframe In The Playground 4 - Rotation C
If you've unlocked Fortuna and Orb Vallis you should have a K-drive (hoverboard), which will work reasonably for getting around the open world areas until you get your archwing launcher built.
Narratively, no, there's nothing about vey hek's boss fight that leads into the plains. Plague Star is, narratively speaking, an emergency where all available hands are called in. If you've visited even once (and it's on earth, so you should have) then Konzu has you in his address book, so to speak. It's hardly as if those ruins are going anywhere in the mean time, after all.
More importantly, plague star is an event that only happens roughly once a year. Best go run it a few times for the rewards before you have to wait until 2021 for it to come again.
Print screen button and then paste it into paint usually works for me.
But there are tutorials for doing it with Steam.
