We tend to use one roll per attack. More if things get critical.

Ah, right, I use tissues as tissues and kitchen towel for general cleaning tasks, so I don't use toilet paper anything like that fast.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
Covid-19 doesn't, though - or at least, it's not a common symptom. Sneezing isn't a symptom either.
Stockpiling loo roll specifically only makes sense if for some reason you think the supplies you would otherwise need normally are going to run out, and there's no particularly good reason to think that (unless the panic buying in itself leads to a shortage). If you're concerned that you might get quarantined and be unable to buy more - well sure, but I'd have thought food should be your priority there.GITP Blood Bowl Manager Cup

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
Well if things get any worse then work could essentially start taking away my lunch break (which is my one break in the working day) due to people not being able to come into work due to looking after children.
I mean, it looks like the measures they're planning for might not be a thing even at peak, but it's still annoying to have the threat hanging over my head.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
And this is what concerns me. While serious, this situation is being inflated out of proportion by the media-induced panic; and the more people that panic, the more people WILL die because OF the panic causing more problems (both short AND long-term). A UK health official pointed out on the news a bit ago that closing the schools, for example, shuts down one avenue to open another; where kids will then gather informally, unlike at schools, where the whole health stuff like properly washing your hands properly (a sensible thing that everyone should already be doing all the time anyway) is not going to be observed; same as not shutting down the football match (I don't know which one, I don't Sports) would have just lead the people to go down the pub instead.
There comes a point at which if you terrify people to the point they are afraid to leave their homes (as the media would seem to want to do, because it generates them eyes and thus money), you WILL DEFINITELY kill more people than the virus ever could.
One thing my sister (who works at the hospital) pointed out at we ARE being Statistic'd to by the media; she said that the places hit hardest are also ones where people have a higher vulnerability due to respiritory problems (more smokers, significantly higher air pollution etc). Just something worth considering.
Again, this is not the Aotrs releasing a hiterto-undeveloped C-strain of our Overmaster virus to literally turn everyone into animated Undead by simple proximity or something. (If that happens, you'll know about it...) Panic is just as, if not more dangerous, than complacency.
Serious, not cataclysmic, people; serious, not cataclysmic - unless it is collectively MADE cataclysmic.
...
...
Actually, you know what, disregard everything I just said.
Panic! Panic, burn everything down and break your civilisations!
Why am I trying to PREVENT the extinction of humanity? I should be putting the boot in while I have the chance!
Not only do I get all your stuff if you make yourselves extinct, even if you don't, it'll be so much easier for me to justify turning up to take over in my next "seriously, just let me crush them," request form!
Meanwhile, in other news, Africa/Asia (some of which are already suffering serious famine) are likely to be hit by the biggest locust infestation for 25 years. But that's apparently not worthy of mainstream news, it would seem.
(Let alone really interesting stuff like finding an exoplanet where it literally rains molten metal that was also annouced today.)Last edited by Aotrs Commander; 2020-03-12 at 01:01 PM.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
We need to keep away for seven days of we start to develop cold or flu symptoms, but unfortunately now we're not allowed to get in agency workers to convert vacancies.
Not to mention this place has a habit of saying one thing and doing another. You're told to stay away if you're sick, but with no sick pay many will risk being infectious over not affording food.
