Yu-Gi-Oh
In current personal gaming Yu-Gi-Oh news, I have recently acquired a RaidRaptor deck, and am waiting on shipping for a Predaplant deck.
I have yet to try them out, but will be able to try them tomorrow, when I have my game day.
Does anyone else here in the Playground enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh? Anyone interested in learning about it?I have a LOT of Homebrew!

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
What about Fusion Monsters, Ritual Monsters, um...Synchro? Monsters? Did they take those out, or were you just considering them 'effect monsters'?

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
I guess that’s another category under monsters-since there are both normal and effect Extra Deck monsters. (But not Gemini, as far as I know.)
So that’s be, for the extra deck...
Fusion
Synchro
XYZ
Link
And then Rituals and Pendulums in the main deck.I have a LOT of Homebrew!

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
I haven't play Yu-Gi-Oh for a long time. I love the older decks Normal, Fusion and others.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
I liked yugioh well enough to throw 40 bucks at the world championship ds games twice - most of the then current cards, reasonably accurate rules. But there haven't been any for a while so I haven't had any experience with XYZ or Pendulum monsters.
The name is "tonberrian", even when it begins a sentence. It's magic, I ain't gotta 'splain why.

Oh, by the by! Yu-Gi-Oh Pro is a free, downloadable Yu-Gi-Oh playing simulator. You have full access to every card in the game, so build decks to your heart's content, and has both AI and live opponents.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
I really enjoyed the game when I was in my early 20s, but, between time, expenses, and how fast-paced the game was getting, lost interest a while ago. I liked it when it took 3-5 turns to build up a strong field, and the current ability to summon massive powers quickly wasn't appealing to me.
That is an alluring prospect. Does it force you to obey the rules? (To clarify my question: I had a Magic: the Gathering simulator almost two decades ago and, while you could play, it didn't enforce any rules so you had to correctly summon and discard cards, etc., to really play.)
I'm tempted to try to learn the current game, but I'm rather ignorant of the current rules. I barely understood Synchro back when it was new, and I know there's a lot of new stuff.
Also, did they change the priority rules? As a more extreme example: if my opponent summons Exiled Force, they are supposed to ask if I want to activate anything to kill it, such as Bottomless Trap Hole, (as I have 'priority') before they can activate its effect to destroy it and one of my monsters. At least that's how it was when I was a new player. I heard that changed in the last couple years.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh
I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh very often back before and during when Synchro was the latest mechanic.
I still visit back from time to time, though. Rank 10 Trains is a lovely, lovely thing.
