Absolutely, and that’s what I’m hoping for—their awareness of a market for a compilation. We really need to let them know that we’re willing to pay money for this. That’s what will get their attention.

I’d prefer hardcover myself, but I’d be glad for a compilation in any format.

most of the high ups are kinda not care for the fans they only care about the baldur's gate game and 5th edition giving them money they want as long as 5th edition shows profit they are okay with 4th and 3rd editions to rot in corner. so only way for some one to return wizards to its old glory is buying tha company outright and firing the board of imbeciles then recruit new team for 6th edition.

A sad day for all. Just as The Long Dark ends, a new darkness falls. Thanks to the folks archiving on their own. Seconding everyone with twitter, spam those guys feeds. I have a friend in middle management at Wizards parent company, Hasbro, I'll reach out to her about other appropriate individuals to contact about this.

Well, what did folks call it when they pushed 4th and took 3.5 off the shelves at stores?

We can call this (whatever that was) II

I know we have some little clubs and groups on the forums- maybe now we can start a "Keepers of the 3rd" who can be contacted for the links to people's digital archives and stuff?

This is a huge PITA because I am running a character that relies on the epic Warlock info as well as Master Arcane Artisan prestige class. I pray that info is in these archives somewhere.

Skunk, the Epic Warlock Feats are part of the Epic Insights articles. At least one of the links on the first page of backed up archives has the epic warlock feats. Master Arcane Artisan is also in that link.

It sucks that we have to rely on this, but I guess it should be alright, since each page has a "Download Article" link.

I've done a little bit of work on this, but is there any other way I can help? I sent a support request a while back, like everyone else, and I found that list, though it's probably a dead end...

Is there any other way for me to help? I really, REALLY don't want even one article to be lost. This stuff has much emotional value to me.

Right now we have two leads—the devs on Twitter that Wildstag mentioned, and the friend at Hasbro that DwarvenWarCorgi said he’d contact.

If any of them respond, we might have a lead on someone to contact directly, which should improve our chances of being heard. If that person hears from a number of us, we’ve got a shot at making our case for a win-win scenario, in which Wizards gets a little more profit and we get either a PDF or a hardcover compilation.

So, if we hear back from anyone with a promising name, that'll be the person for you to write to directly.

Probably a mod of this subforum, but I don't know if they want to get requests like that. I'm not even sure what their criteria for stickying a thread are

They've already been contacted. I'd link but I don't want to also just share my twitter handle. At a certain point, patience is key. If they're going to reply, I don't expect it to be immediate; it's not like I sent them an e-mail. It could also help if others reached out on twitter inquiring about the archives. It's a network with many users, so I figure a good percentage of people in this thread could also reach out.

Agreed. I’m not on Twitter and don’t plan to be, but it would be great if others could contact them as well. I’ll be sending letters once we know the best person to address them to.

As somebody who does not play 3e anymore (and absolutely refuses to DM it anymore as it is more work than it is worth in terms of fun for me) I still wish I could see at least some of these. I rather liked the swift blade, kobold, cityscape alternate class features, dead level features, epic binder, and epic warlock. As I recall the epic binder stuff has been missing for a while.

I've had some luck using the Wayback Machine with the links.

Did you check the first page of the thread? and the links to some compiled pdf's are in daremeto's signature.

Nijineko was compiling ( over years ) an archive of the WOTC archive articles and a few other things. The following link is from v1.4 of it. I have seen a link to it for a v1.7 but that link no longer works. Nijineko last post on minmax was almost a year ago. Somewhere amongst my HDD drives ( if they haven't gone bad ), I may have downloaded a 2.1 or something around that version. I don't know how complete it is. Download the 1.4 while you still can.

No response on the twitter front, which sucks. At this point all I want is an announcement about it or something, instead of just a “it’s our content, deal with it” attitude.

Thanks for the many sources of archive archives. Y’all do good work.

Thanks for trying, I appreciate it. Sounds like the devs aren’t really interested in listening to their former community, which is unfortunate.

At this point, it’s hard not to feel like they’re giving Bigby’s Giant Finger to a broad spectrum of former customers.

I mean identifying magic items with Spellcraft specifically is in MIC.
