Fun dice for a DM to have?
So cool to see the forums back up. In the meantime, I have started DMing for the first time in a very long time and was looking into fun ways to spice things up. A player showed me a dice that she had found that had different body parts on each side that could be wounded in an attack to hopefully impose some kinds of conditions. This got me thinking about any other types of dice that are out there for DMs to add to the toolbox: Combat, role playing, world building (like weather conditions, terrain, etc.) Really into hearing about the possibilities. Thanks!

Re: Fun dice for a DM to have?
Basically any chart can be converted to a die, I've seen dice that exist for npc attitude, alignment and weather. If you were going to use a 3d printer lice d +1 said, you could make a custom die for a magic weapon that does special riders determined by the damage or something.

Re: Fun dice for a DM to have?
I saw a unique, vintage d30 last night that had +/- modifiers and numbers. I don't recall what game it was made for or get a really good look at the faces, but I believe he said it was made by Armory "back in the day." The coolest thing was that it was glow-in-the-dark and we were playing under blacklight. I've only done a little searching this morning, but I cannot find any gitd d30's online, so I'll dig into Kevin's archive later to see what it is.

I have a set of giant foam dice that was gifted to me that I use for kids. They get a kick out of rolling them across the floor vs a tray.

Not to toot my own horn, but... OK, yeah, I'm tooting my own horn. The numbering on the dice are all normal, but the shapes aren't (though still fair).
