Though as I've never seen an excuse to use Photoshop I didn't take, I'm kinda tempted to make something new. (I had what I thought was a neat idea for an animated one, but checked the rules and found out they are forbidden, so now I'm sad. )

I'm guessing the answer's pretty much gonna be "no extent", since unless it's on the topic of the thread, it would presumably count as spam.

Oki I've got this figured out.
We work with two lists; one where you can only have one game at a time, and one for sequels. When your game has been run, you choose one of your games from the other list which goes at the bottom. Maybe add a system where ppl can express interest in a game which bumps it up the list. Maybe add a delay between your game ending and the next one getting added. Maybe add a 1-time queskip* for the first game someone hosts, if they want to.

*pretty sure I'm misspelling this

I definitely think the solution should be a balance of these...
The third option seems to be the most effective, yet it is indeed just a delay.
The first two options seem hard tbh.
I would start with three and look from there. Or maybe something less radical than deleting all those games and making it for example that when someone schedules a new game which is their only game they get priority over all the second games: for example:
person a) I host game a1
person b) I host game b1
person a) I host game a2
person c) I host game c1
game order: a1, b1, c1, a2
Does this make any sense?

1) This is a more effort on my part in exchange for people not having to remember which games they were thinking about running next.

2) It's funtionally the same as 3 with the sole exception that there's a bunch of secondary/tertiary/etc games clogging up the bottom of the list.

Or alternatively we could have a minimum number of games that have to come between each person's narration. That probably wouldn't solve the "new people waiting ages..." problem but it does mean existing players don't have to wait for years because someone else is on the schedule five times or something.

There's currently like 20 people who wanna run games. Rough average on distance between repeats is 8 games among those who even have repeats. 24 weeks from one game to the next, that's 6 months of air time. 2 games a year is what it's currently looking like.

Or give newbies a "free queue-jumping pass" to... third/fourth/fifth on the schedule, so they can run their game in months rather than years.

Or stop people signing up with just "placeholder" or "I don't have an idea yet" - then again that probably developed as a response to the schedule problem itself, it just also happens to be making it worse. So we'd need another fix in addition to that.

I like both of these ideas, even if the latter can't quite fit together with proposal 3.

If we're going to cull the schedule to one entry each, I propose that we each decide how to reduce our own entries so that responsibility (and the potential for hurt feelings) doesn't fall on AV.

I'm next up with Murder on the Orient Express, and I suggest that the second iteration of it gets scrapped so that after running I end up with only Crazy Idea 4, which I expect will end up at the bottom of the revised schedule which is fine (and feel free to move it down for any newcomers if necessary).

It's good to have a standard process, though, so that people signing up can know what to expect out of the schedule.

I'm good with this approach, personally. As fun as it would be to run multiple games, it seems the fairest option.

Probably just going forward. Meaning itll be years before there's a meaningful difference, but even at absolute 'best" itd still be a year before anyone new got to do something. Might remove a few of my own extras now, depending on how interested I am in running them

I still think an option to jump the queue for a new narrator would be a good idea, as an addition to the rule against multiple games. Even with no duplicates and cleaning the schedule, it would take a very long time till someone new gets the chance to try themselves as host. Giving them an extra boost would be effective much faster (without causing too much trouble for the regular players/hosts, unless we suddenly get a huge amount of newcomers)

I've gotten rid of a couple games I was eh about running. Upick 6 is still on there but the harem comedy ones are gone now.

Of course it does kinda present an issue at present: Metastachydium, Cazero, Xumtiil, Let'sGetKraken, Visor, Illven, and Caedorus have never run games over here to my knowledge. Even if we assume Visor has run games elsewhere before and strike him from the list, that's still 6 people currently signed up to run games who've never run games before and would probably deserve the option to queue jump.
