The Irregulars! Sundered Marches
Hey, so. I'm about to launch my fourth web-thingy, and the third since I've been on these forums.
Time flies.
Most of this board probably doesn't know me anymore, but given that real-life has always fizzled out my projects after significant investment but before I got to a clear end of the story, I didn't really want to poke my head up here again until I was ready with a project that can tell a complete illustrated story. And here I am; I've got the story for the next year worked out, I have the money to pay for my artist long-term and a good personal relationship with her. So... Fire's back with a brand new invention.
The magic-rich prairies and canyons of Lanva are said to be the resting place of a martyred goddess whose name has been forgotten to the world: a prize too valuable for the resource-hungry Duvencht Empire to simply let slip away. THE IRREGULARS! SUNDERED MARCHES is an industrial-era fantasy story following the Lanvan Revolutionary Aerie's Third Irregulars, an unlikely squad of soldiers that didn't belong anywhere else: witches, cowards, crossdressers, and ragamuffins alike.
A year in to the rebellion against the Duvencht Empire, Lanva's allies have been crushed. The dead walk the canyons, and the living are afraid to fight. It's only a matter of time until Duvencht breaks the defensive lines and Lanva is not capable of a victory through conventional, regular military warfare. But the Irregulars? They might just stand a chance.
Written by veteran¹, award-winning² author Cynthia Skye, THE IRREGULARS! SUNDERED MARCHES is a comedic action-drama oriented at a Young Adult audience. This site has a general content warning for strong language, mild sexual themes, and rare but strong graphic violence. Site updates on Sundays.
¹ you've never read any of her prior stuff I promise
² most improved in 9th grade band
The site's illustrated story updates go up every week on Sundays, and for March (because it's our launch month, and SUNDERED MARCHES), a lore article will also go up every Wednesday. Currently you can see a map of the region, illustrated short intros into the six main characters, and some miscellaneous art. So. Yeah. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Re: The Irregulars! Sundered Marches
Every month, high above the sundered marches the heavens themselves weep for the lives lost to the Red Death.
You hear the screeching of the owls, you hear the wind begin to howl, you know there's zombies on the prowl...
And it's terror time again.

Re: The Irregulars! Sundered Marches
I can feel it coming over me, I feel it all around me; I been waiting for this moment all my life, it's my destiny!
I put this one up early today because I was excited -- been staring at this page for a few days now and couldn't wait to let it out into the wild. Without further ado, hold on to your knickers, ladies and gentlemen!

Pay close attention - don't listen to me right now. This is the right turn, wrong universe...
The Peoples of Myth
This week's lore article is on some of the other races of myth in the world of Alovis. Some of these existed once; some never did at all. But they're just about all dead or keeping entirely to themselves today... right? Right.

Re: The Irregulars! Sundered Marches
After an avalanche splits the squad up, they've got to pick up the pieces and get back on the move. Only problem is, they're kinda buried in snow. Guess it's the survivalist's time to shine!

Lore: Patrollum Praeteritis
The world ended, and a new one was born almost two thousand years ago... but that does not mean that the past is entirely forgotten. Sometimes its dangers lurk in the present. Prepare yourself with this look at the Patrollum Praeteritis, a guardian of ancient ruins, as well as a D&D 5E statblock for GMs who want to incorporate this monster into their own settings.

Scene 03: What
What, you think you've got to be a witch or a hermit or something to survive the snow? Mara Bloom is pulling herself out by the bootstraps, avalanche or not -- but what's that in the distance?
Late update today, and a long one this time.

Scene 06: Together Again
The Irregulars are all back in one place again -- finally. It's time to regroup, rest, and recover before the mission continues. Or will it be that simple? Update is up-late, sorry!

Scene 10: Senses
People like to talk about the sixth sense. Tch! There's a lot more than five senses, to be honest, without even getting all magical about it. And if you're a witch? Sometimes you'll wish you only had six.

Re: The Irregulars! Sundered Marches
Scene 11: Wascally
Strange black beasts, ominous vultures, cave trolls, a shortage of ordnance, and a stowaway fifer -- this mission's got a lot of complications already. But that's not all, folks!
This week closes out Day 1! Next week will be filler.
