Just saying that it's been a busy couple of days since the movers came; finally unpacking stuff, and turning the house into a home with family in town helping. They and the house have been the obvious priority. I am going to start working on posts now, but may not get to everything. I suspect if I don't get to it today, you will see my replies tomorrow. Just posting a heads up because I know i've been a little MIA.

To keep my head straight, I am going to have to do this in two posts. This post will be dedicated to responding to OOC thread posts, in case anything urgent came up. Following this, I will start a separate post for discussing XP, downtime usage, and moving things forward.

After this, I will finally, get to anything I missed in the IC thread. I also know I have a couple of PMs waiting on me, which I will get to subsequently.

The arbites are the police, they're on our side .

Technically, the Arbites are a level above and beyond the Police (Judge, jury and executioner all in one- Dredd style). The planatary Enforcers would be closer to the police. And hopefully, Milo isn't fighting either in this game.

@bennosuke id like to declare, with your permission of course that the molotov launcher is basically a cheaper standalone version of the aux GL, with the same range but using firebombs

Sorry, I kind of missed this from before. The proposed rules for the wrist mounted flamer, and the spent XP would be for the wrist mounted flamer. Am I correct that additionally, Milo is looking to purchase/commission a molotov cocktail launcher, or are you imaging they are the same item? Please note, that with Milo's downtime, which you already rolled for, he could only "Inquire" about one of the items.

IF we are focusing on a fire bomb launcher, that functions like a grenade launcher or similar, we would probably need to discuss separate stats ect.

Just a quick question on that, but if this game went on for another couple of years and we got enough experience that you took us into Ascension territory, would Inquisitor be an open Ascension career pathway, or no?

I am more than happy to push this game into Ascension if we make it to that point! However, if we are getting there, I think we have to have serious conversations about what Career Pathways are and are not available to players, and ultimately, this would be based on what the players feel comfortable with. Because there is an obvious and implicit power differential in game between Inquisitors, Interrogators, and their staff, it would have to be based on discussion between the players so that everyone is happy.

Can you please specify what changes you've made? Google Docs don't have a clear way of tracking changes without pulling up multiple versions and comparing side by side.

afaik, if we were going into pg 125 of the corebook, it says you may increase the thrones given according to gm fiat. so if the gm would be so kind, bats eyelashes we could use the extra moolah. i know milo certainly could use it for picking up his alter ego, maxima gilder

also, according to inquisitors handbook pg 16, milo should have started with double his starting thrones as he is a noble born, and his monthly income counts as nobility

i was discussing a firebomb launcher, but that can wait, milo would prefer the wrist flamer now, and inquire about getting the molotov launcher built later

as to the changes on my sheet, i was just using my sheet for a wishlist and stuff category. should you wish to grant any of it to milo, i would consider it a blessing

Also note, that some players have been very good at reminding me to give out XP in the moment, so if it seems like it took me forever to get you this post, it's because I've double checked myself in reading all the way through the OOC thread and the IC thread to make sure I am neither shorting anyone, nor giving them double dipped XP.

Alright. So I will hold off on starting the next scene till I have heard to everyone about how they want to use their downtime and if they want to spend XP. My understanding is later this day the group is going to be going after Drimmle. Because of this, there are no thrones gained, or changes beyond what I am providing above.

Not yet. When the mission is completed I could see the Inquisition stepping in and upping people's salaries, but right now there is no reason either the PC's original organizations or the Inquisition would be upping your pay.

I am pretty certain that was accounted for when you started your PC. Milo was throwing out thrones left and right in bribes, and has made the most purchases.

A question, not to saddle you with more things to deal with, but do you remember how I used Marc's Trade (Merchant) in place of Inquiry? Two questions:

A) There are no further increases for that throughout any of the Psyker progressions, as far as I know. Given she's Rank 5 now, would I be able to spend 100 exp to get the next +10% advance on it?

B) Would this be justification for her moving from 'Supine Class' (on page 124) to the 'Trading Classes', due to the descriptor of it being 'those that buy and sell or have specialist trades with which to make their living' ? So at Rank 5 (as per Rank increase) she'd be getting ~160 thrones a month.

Fair enough. Orla will see if she can find anyone she's dealt with before. Will try to get a Hand Cannon from the Corebook (p.130) as it's cheap anyway (65 thrones).

milo plans to use maxima to gather information on the spire and possibly drimmle. where milo is calm and collected, i plan on playing maxima as a mercurial hothead, quick to anger, slow to forgive, and dismissive of the lower classes. for starters, milo will walk around in the midhive to get used to his persona before taking it up any higher into the spire. he might consider taking marcella along, to tell him how hes acting

i imagine maxima walks with a strut, peering down his nose at people and being a general SOB.

That'd be cool. As she's got Medicae, Chem-use and Scholastic Lore (Chymistry), I'm thinking she gets into trading medical and biotech supplies. She can now speak High Gothic, the language of the wealthy and ennobled, so that helps too.


Marc has 1,005 exp to spend. This'll be the last big 'psyker blob' of advances she takes, as she's got about 1,600 exp left until Rank 6, so that'll be 1,600 spent on skills advances.

If you're allowing 1 slot of 'downtime' the last way you offered 3 slots of downtime during our last exp expenditures/downtime, Marc is going to use her improved medicae rating to provide a medical service and make a house-call. She's got equivalent of +60 now (which is 'rare' availability per page 152) which grosses 150 thrones, with the 10 throne expenses for 140 thrones net. If you're fine with that.

If that proceeds, she'll then buy:

- Stub Automatic (Plentiful - No roll needed) - 50 thrones.
- 2x boxes of bullets (40 bullets) divide them into 4 magazines she'll store in her backpack - 2 thrones.
- Suppressor for her pistol (plentiful) - 10 thrones.
- She'll buy a ladies suit (nice shoes, stylish skirt, white blouse, jacket, feminine version of a neck tie etc) - Book says they're abundant and variant in cost, so I'll say 30 thrones for a nice, stylish ladies suit. Nothing fancy; just prim, proper and reliable. She'll wear this to her medical house-calls.
- Another pair of black "work clothes" (full-body overalls, kneepads, sturdy boots, vest, gloves etc this is her secret police outing clothes) - 10 thrones.

= 102 thrones spent, 38 thrones left to add to her existing 17 thrones. (so 55 thrones total)


However, if this displease you, then she'll just take a bubble-bath and relax for the afternoon/evening. Perhaps take Orla to a mass to help the filthy unbeliever save her soul.

On second thoughts, this is a bit much. I'll do a single Equipment search roll as her down-time and leave the hustlin' till a longer downtime.

milo started with 326 throne gelt, doubled to 652, and then the 1000 gelt from his two months income as hes noble born

so currently milo is sitting on 1232 thrones
