    The familiars make their approach and avoid detection sufficiently to relay back the layout of the camp - 7 hobgoblins in all, plus the two dogs. It seems Joia missed one in the struggle, or perhaps that one had pulled the short straw to watch camp while the rest went out robbing and raiding. The tent, if it could be called that, is essentially just a tarp on sticks, protection from rain from above and little else. The dogs however, perk up on Grepha's approach and though they cannot see her they do start barking in her direction - perhaps the new smell of a delicious bird floating into camp set them off.

    For a moment the hob closest to the dogs looks annoyed and irritated by the barking, but as they continue his eyes narrow and he tugs a javelin from his back, barking at his companions. They're a little slow to react at first but soon enough are all clutching weapons and either searching the camp or looking out beyond its ill-defined borders.

    To avoid potential novaing from a large group of enemies, I've split them up into teams Red and Blue for initiative purposes - Blue got an 18, red got a 12. The more pale hobs are the ones with longbow+sword, the darker skinned hob tokens are the ones with an axe and javelins. They won't be Surprised but right now they're just suspicious and haven't actually located you or any of the familiars.

    Detection by the attack mutts is at first an annoyance. Then Grepha gets a devilish idea, and flutters into the trees to the north of the goblin camp, away from the hidden party. She starts to make small croaking sounds, taunting the hounds and expecting them to give chase.

    Hearing the barking, Sam gets into cover behind a tree to remain hidden.

    As she heard the barking of the dogs, Senna makes her cat immediately turn back around. Come back, Glyph. Pronto. She let's her companion vanish, stands up, and surveils the landscape herself. As she sees the raven's trickery, she decides to cast a spell.

    First Scribe, lend us your wisdom. To protect us, and guide our way! as she incants, glyphs begin swirling around her, Aintas and Vyvian. Now go! she declares, drawing her crossbow.

    The dogs perk up at Grepha's move north and both go to follow initially, though one stops after being barked at by the a hob, though it's only for a moment, as it rounds to the east on hearing Senna speak. They've finally noticed you in earnest.

    Caelee dashes forward, hugging the treeline, then sprinting across the open path to an out of the way tree over there, trying to use her faster speed to take a position her family can't reach. Ducking behind the tree, her heart beginning to beat faster and faster as the rush of combat came over her. The world moved slower for a few seconds, giving her time to take in the scene of battle. Deciding the first step to victory is controlling the battlefield, Caelee lifts her mistletoe and readies her bow, sighting along it at the nearest hobgoblins. She began to mumble in druidic, she encouraged the plants and the grass to grow rampant under the feet of one of the hobgoblins and an approaching dog, causing the plants to sprout upward, with vines and shoots snapping up to attempt to hold the enemies in place.

    Using my 35 foot move speed to move to the tree to the north west of the party. Casting entangle to hit the nearest goblin and dog. I'll roll two two strength saving throws to avoid being entangled- (1d20)[8] and (1d20)[15]. Save DC is 13. The nearest hobgoblin is the upper right most corner of my 20 ft square, so I am covering as much of the path as difficult terrain as possible.

    Not seeing a good shot she can make, Vyvian rushes to take cover behind a tree and tries to remain out of sight so that maybe the enemy won't see her and will think their group is one fewer until she has a better opportunity.

    The writhing vines coil and bind around one of the goblins who tries in vain to pull away. Senna's crossbow bolt takes advantage of his distraction, splintering right through the eyeball of the bowhob, dropping him to the ground with a gurgled, pained scream that is soon muffled by the plants coalescing on top and concealing the body from view. The group immediately rounds on you. The hound that broke to the north curves on realising the true danger, growling loudly. The other, wounded from the blazing Spiritual Weapon, strikes forwards, though comes short of reaching Caelyn in time to strike.

    One hob barks at the others and they move forward, almost marching. Though the gap is far, the hobs hurl their javelins with remarkable effectiveness. One slices through Senna's arm, shallow but painful. The other strikes the tree Caelyn is hidden behind with enough force that it sends a burst of wooden shrapnel that finds enough gaps in her armour to bite deep. Senna's pain from the javelin may be quieted by the low hiss of another bowhob's arrow streaking past her ears, barely a few inches from taking an eye just as she'd taken one moments before.

    Caelyn takes 9 damage. I may have taken some...creative liberties with the description of this one - in reality the javelin just hit you.
    Senna takes 8 damage.
    I gave Vyvian a little ninja symbol because she's hiding.

    Edit: As I put in the discord, I'm delaying Team Red's initiative until the end of the turn going forwards.

    Scurrying forward as the bolts, arrows and other pointed implements start flying, Sam keeps his profile low. He points at the hound harrying Caelyn's ankles and releases a beam of crackling green energy to toss it back and give her some space.

    Taking the fighting as an opportunity, Grepha returns to the tents she'd failed to enter before and flutters inside. Best to relieve them of any valuables now in case things go sour and one side tries to flee.

    As everyone springs to action around her, Melian again draws upon the secrets of her people. She begins the low, wordless hum that brings the bladesong into focus. She dashes through the trees, maintaining some form of cover and calls upon the weave to reach her distant targets, trying to ensnare them in a Grease spell.

    Aintas' blade slices down on the wolf who yelps and rears back, only to catch as chestful of eldritch energy that sends it tumbling backwards. It hits a tree with a sickening thud and doesn't stand up again. The grease the bubbles up beneath the feet of the hobs is frustrating, but ultimately they manage to keep their balance. One immediately shifts out of it, and along with his comrade to the south attempt to rain arrows on Melian. Both strike into the tree however, ultimately signalling nothing.

    Their javelin comrade in the centre is more successful, his flying spear hurled directly at Aintas. It misses his head, but slams painfully into the chain mail - it probably won't draw blood, but it will definitely leave a bruise, and the impact force knocks the wind away for a moment.

    Grepha finds a few coin purses and some oddly carved sticks with ornate writing (in script that Grepha can't read) but no ring, not yet at least, and none of the hobs seem to be paying any attention to what's behind them. They're thoroughly engrossed by the six armed attackers who came out of nowhere and murdered one of them - and now one of their dogs too.

    The young cleric clenches her teeth at the first real injury she takes. She manages to get a hold of herself before loosing her magic to the ebb and flow of the Weave. START KILLING! she shouts in a commandeering tone she didn't even know she was capable off before moving ahead herself. A short mental note makes her summoned archon advances west to focus its devastating energy on the hobgoblin with a longbow.

    Senna herself charges forward, but does not reach cover in time for her next crossbow bolt to be ready. She decides to go for a safer route however, mumbling the basic arcane words for force missiles, springing forth at the exposed archer up north.

    Vyvian notices that Senna has managed to kill two already and is a bit impressed and feels like she needs to catch up. She also notices that Senna is screaming for them to kill.... which is a bit disturbing.
    With these thoughts in her head, she fires an arrow at one of the hobgoblins and darts for a new hiding spot.

    Caelee gives a yelp as the splinters from the tree cut into her exposed arms. Her eyes then go wide as the angry dog runs at her, but at Aintas' command she leaps backward just in time for the fighter's glaive and the dragon's bolt to impact the creature, sending it reeling. Feeling a moment of guilt for the dead creature, she moves further back behind the tree and takes stock of the state of the battlefield. Seeing her sisters raining death at range on the hobgoblins, she decides to add her flames to the equation. Taking aim at the northernmost hobgoblin, she draws back her bow, and arrow of fire forming between her fingers. Releasing the arrow, it sails like a miniature comet at her chosen target. While the arrow is flying, she whispers a single word in druidic and gives a high whistle, eyes closing in pain as the intense heat of her healing magics begins popping splinters from her skin, leaving angry red marks on her arms.

    Between Senna and Vyvian's ranged assault, two more hobs fall in quick succession. Caelyn's streak of blazing fire curves through the air, barely scraping against the side of her hob's neck. He's hurt, you can tell, but not very, and probably more irritated by the smell of singed beard than the actual pain. The remaining hound bounds forward to Aintas, but his swift glaive yanks it off its feet and stops it in its tracks. It rises again, albeit clearly confused as to what happened. Its master still standing on the ridge launches an arrow in retaliation, but it plinks off the armour pitifully. Had it not been for the roar of annoyance from the hob, you might not have even noticed it hitting you.

    Vyvian's attempt to slip back into the shadows falls short this time, as the javelin wielder stomps forward (evading the entangling roots) and hurls his weapon once more. This one goes wide though, landing quietly, almost gracefully, in the forest off to one side - narrowly avoiding a passing hare who up until now had seemed utterly disinterested at the ongoing clash going on nearby. It darts away into the underbrush, probably back to its home.

    Sam starts to run forwards, but his legs freeze up and he ends up dancing back and forth for a moment. His instincts tell him to run from the danger, not towards it, but he has to do his part to help. With some effort he forces himself up alongside Senna and crouches down. His brother has the second wolf locked down, so he cups his hands towards one coming at them from over the ridge and lets loose another bolt of energy.


    Thinking the carved sticks to be some sort of wand, for after all what use would backwater savages have for pointless art, Grepha shapeshifts back to imp form and gathers up the bundle in her arms - while remaining invisible, just in case.

    The javelin elicits an explosive curse as it hits with enough foe, but Aintas has his hands full with the second beast coming in. He pins it at range even as he prepares for his counterattack.

    With a shove and and an inarticulate battlecry, Aintas again attacks the hound in front of him, using both the blade and the butt of the weapon.

    Sam's and Melian's beams join in mid air, swirling into a double helix of explosive magical power that strikes the greataxe wielder in the chest. He stumbles slightly but grins wickedly as the freezing eldritch glow dissipates. He's not done yet. Aintas dispatches the remaining wolf with ease and strides forward. With the losses sustained, it seems the hobs are finally breaking their ranged ranks to join combat in the melee as they rush forward. One is in range of Aintas, who brings his glaive down on the marauding warrior. In a flicker of movement the warrior sidesteps the blade, then stomps down driving the glaive into the dirt before backhanding Aintas full force across the face with his gauntleted fist still clutching the longsword. He may be mocking you by choosing not to use the blade, but he still steps back and adopts a ready stance, barking what you can only guess is some goblinoid taunt in his guttural language.

    The remaining two aren't in range of Senna to attack with their melee, but they do still unleash a javelin and an arrow against her. The arrow flies wide, but the javelin slams right into her chest dead centre. It may not pierce the scale mail, but she's knocked hard by it, and for a moment feels her heart stop, before it kicks back into gear again.

    Grepha scoops up a number of the ornate sticks - they're magical, she can tell, though would need further careful analysis and time to identify how exactly. Or she could just follow the gut feeling she's receiving and crack the end of one to see what happens.

    Tumbling back yet again, Senna remembers the words of the wise gnome cleric she talked to just an hour ago. Sometimes running away to fight another day is the smartest thing. She quickly pushes the gnome out of her head. Instead she sees a bloody pulp that resembles her brother. No, she can't run away now. She pulls out a vial of smelling salts to keep her from keeling over as the world starts spinning during the short sprint into cover next to Vyv.. She trusts in the archon to find their own targets in the mean time.

    Seeing two enemies close so close to her, Vyvian darts out at an angle as she switches from bow to blades. Striking first at one of them, and then a second time.

    Moving south one space and west three to be adjacent just to the red hob at the bottom. If the first attack manages to kill it, Vyvian moves a space north and makes the second attack at the blue hob. Otherwise the second attack goes to the red hob. If both attacks go to the red one, whether it dies or not, she moves back three spaces to the east to take cover. (Which she can do without taking an opportunity attack since she attacked it.)
    If she winds up adjacent to the blue hob (because the red one is dead and blue isn't), she remains where she is.
    If she somehow manages to kill both, she moves north to close with the red hob in the middle.

    As a note, sneak attack will apply because at no point is she adjacent to multiple creatures.

    Stepping out from behind the tree, Caelee draws back her bow, whispers in druidic, and sends another flaming arrow at the hobgoblin who'd just struck her brother. She knew that if two of them could handle that creature it would mean Aintas could join the fight Vyv was in. That done she dashes forward across the open, keeping low to the ground, throwing herself down fifteen feet from Senna. A sharp whistle and a word of druidic later, a rabbit spirit, bright orange and wreathed in small flames, appears underneath Senna, passing through her body as it came into being. The spirit imparted healing magic, but the magic was not soothing. It would feel almost painfully warm to her sister as it unmade the damage that had been done to her body in a slow and searing process.

    So to hit on the hobgoblin messing with Aintas- (1d20+5)[21] to hit, (1d10)[9] damage. Moving to 15 feet behind Senna's position at the cover/difficult terrain, then cast healing spirit. Senna gets healed for (1d6)[6] damage at the start of her turn. Then I'm going prone. My intent is to be out of charge range for the hobgoblins and provide disadvantage to ranged attacks against me.

    Aintas smiles through his bloody teeth. The hobgoblin was where he wanted it, in reach.

    He feints and pivots at the other side, bringing the glaive's ferrule at the hob's sides, and then delivering two hits in quite succession. He does that looking the hobgoblin in the eyes and if he hits, he growls menacingly

    Stepping out of cover and running over to the bloody Aintas, Sam stops, not sure what he thought he was going to do. He looks up onto the ridge, where another of the hobs is preparing to advance on them. He draws a card from the deck in his pocket and holds it up at the hobgoblin on the ridge. The King of Hearts. Sam's his voice takes on a booming, resonant quality that bounces inside of the goblinoid's head. "You cannot win. Kneel and surrender and your life will be spared."


    With the bundle of magical twigs in her arms, the invisible imp saunters out of the tent. The fight still looks like it could go either way. Priming her stinger, she scampers up to one of the hobgoblins surrounding the thief girl.

    Vyvian's blade initially glances off the hob's armour but the second one finds its mark, cutting deep. In response the warrior to his side roughly pushes him out of the way, roaring and slicing down with his greataxe. Vyvian manages to avoid the worst of it, but it's still painful and bleeding slightly.

    A second hob jumps from the ridge to assist his brother in arms, striding forwards and stabbing at Aintas, who deflects the brunt of the blow with his glaives pole - it still manages to strike him on the arm though, reverberating. The force of it allows the intrepid polearm wielder to spin and unleash his assault with renewed vigor against the first attacker, that had just taken a shot from Caelyn right in the neck. The attack is brutal, beating him into the ground and leaving little more than a broken husk of flesh and shattered armour on the ground.

    Though they've been their goblinoid tongue thus far, the hob seems to understand Sam. He hesitates for a moment, before kneeling down, greataxe still held in his fist. One of the survivors spots this and yells at him, but he doesn't respond.

    Aintas and Sam got a bit EAGER with their turns last night, since blue team was meant to be acting before them - thankfully it didn't disrupt anything*, but it's now Melian's move and then Red team's turn again.

    Vyvian takes 5 damage. Her red hob is clearly injured. All attacks against Vyvian's blue hob have Advantage until his next turn.
    Aintas takes 8. He killed his red, his blue is seems quite hearty overall.

    Sam's suggestion worked on the red hob.

    *although you may want to change Grepha's action, since the blue hob had moved away before Grepha got there.

    The icy beam streaks forwards, curving towards Vyvian's attacker. He seems to see it coming through and brings his blade up to block it. The beam splinters against the blade, splitting into multiple smaller beams that impact at the ground around them creating small patches of icy dirt, but ultimately no damage is done. The hob spins the blade around with a flourish and knocks one of Vyvian's swords from her hands, following through and grabbing it from the ground with a guttural cheer, brandishing both stolen and original swords above his head with cheer. He utters some taunt in goblinoid at Vyvian, though what it is, you couldn't say.

    Senna/Caelyn/Vyvian's turn. Vyvian now only has one shortsword, as the hob disarmed and then stole one of them, but he didn't (or rather, couldn't) do any damage as part of that.

    The other red hob is still following Sam's Suggestion and is kneeling quietly.

    Caelee crawls forward ten feet and moves five feet to the north, adjacent to Sam. Standing up made her more of a target, but also allowed her to see over the ridge and spot three hobgoblins in one area. She sees Vyvian get disarmed, and her blood begins to boil. Flaming tears run from the corners of her eyes and lick at her fingertips as she summons her magic.

    In a crescendo of flame the spirit appears within ten feet of three of the hobgoblins, fire washing out from it that ends just before Vyvian, sending a flash of hot air over her. Then she releases a high whistle and points at Aintas, her healing spirit following her command and running over to him, it's heat healing his wounds but reddening his skin.

    Summoning my wildfire spirit in position to hit the three hobgoblins within a 20 ft diameter of each other. (2d10)[8] damage if they fail a DC 13 Dex Save. Rolling 3 saves without modifiers- (1d20)[5], (1d20)[5], (1d20)[8]. Then moving healing spirit to Aintas so that he heals (1d6)[2] on his turn.
