    Default Traveller T20 Game Custom Traveller Universe

    I am recruiting players for a custom T20 setting, very similar to the OTU, but it's own setting. There is an Imperium and all the standard OTU races, player characters star at around 6th level, if you are using prior history rules, stop after your character reaches or exceeds 6th level. I have some regenerated characters if you don't want to bother, they are all 6th level. The characters are an Academic, a Rogue, a Noble, and two Mercenaries.

    A little background on the setting, the campaign begins on August 1st, 57799 AD on Earth, now called Terra, the planet was abandoned and then resettled by humans arriving by sleeper ship 350 years prior to this date, Venus has been partially Terraformed by whatever mysterious race that inhabited the Solar System tens of thousands of years ago.

    Since the abandonment sometime in the 23rd century AD, the Earth has gone wild, it has experienced an ice age and then the glaciers retreated, the planet has been reset, Pleistecene animals and plants plus tribes of primitive humans inhabited the surface when colonists arrived back in their sleeper ships, now outfitted with Jump Drives the tech level on the planet is now 15, and the population is 8 billion. New cities now sit on top of the buried rubble of old.

    Records brought by the colonists from Earth history up to the late 22nd century are very good, after that Earth stopped sending colony ships, and all traces of modern humans inhabiting the Earth mysteriously vanished as measured by archeological evidence in the mid 23rd century, it is now the last year of the 578th century, and a new century is about to begin in a few months. The Capitol of the Imperium is several sectors away, and has been a going concern for about 1100 years. Terra is on the fringes of this empire.

    T20 books 1, 2, and 3 are what you're interested in, 1 is characters, 2 is equipment, vehicles and spaceships, and three is worlds, together they comprise the core rulebooks.

    Here is the statistic block format for characters.

    Name: The name of the character;
    Player's Name: The name identifying the player playing this character;
    Race Gender Class/Class/... Level/Level/... Classes and then Levels listed in the same order as the Classes Example: Human Male Merchant/Scout 4/3;
    Homeworld: Name of the character's homeworld;
    Homeworld Location: The Hex number of the homeworld where the character is from, in the format 0101 to 0110 to 0801 to 0810;
    Homeworld UWP: In the form A123456-7;
    Actual Age: The Character's actual chronological age in years;
    Apparent Age: The age the character appears to be, for instance if a character spent 100 years frozen in a low berth his apparent age would be 100 years less than his actual age, which is the number of years between his birth and the present time.;
    Date of Birth: The day the character was born on the AD or Common Era calendar, obtained by subtracting the Character's Actual Age from the current calendar year of 57799 AD, and rolling a d12 for month and picking a day of that month in the format Month Day, Year AD.;
    Height: The character's height in centimeters, Example: 165 cm;
    Mass: The character's mass in kilograms, Example: 75 kg;
    Hair: The character's hair color, style ie long, short, bald, curly, wavy, beard, mustache etc.;
    Eyes: The character's eye color, ie brown, blue, green, yellow, whatever;
    Handedness: Pick a predominant hand that the character uses to hold weapons, the other hand is the off hand where a -4 penalty applies unless the Ambidexterity feat is chosen;
    Rank: The character's final rank in his prior career.;
    Titles: Some character's have titles, the character's Soc score indicates which, 16 or greater indicates an honorific such as Sir or Duke, if the Soc score is 15 or less, it is just Mr. Mrs, Ms etc.;
    Size and Type: The character's size category and its type (and subtype if applicable);
    SD: #d#+#, The character's Stamina Dice, would be HD or hit dice in D&D;
    St/Lb: #/#; The character's Stamina Points and Lifeblood Points separated by a "/";
    Init: +#; The character's Initiative score
    Spd: #m, # hex/sq; The character's speed in meters and then in squares or hexes;
    AC: # (+# armor, +# dex adj etc), touch #, flat-footed #; The character's Armor class followed by its touch armor class, which ignores armor, and then by flat-footed which removes the dexterity adjustment when the character is surprised;
    Base Atk: +#; The character's base attack without any modifiers.;
    Atk: Weapon +#/+#/.. attack bonuses Melee or Ranged (#d#+# damage/## critical) range listed range for ranged attacks;
    Space/Reach: #m/#m 1.5m/1.5m for medium sized creatures;
    SV: Fort +#, Ref +#, Will +#; Character's saving throw bonuses;
    Ability Scores: Str #, Dex #, Con #, Int #, Wis #, Cha #, Edu #, Soc #, Psi #; Only characters with psionic abilities have Psi scores.;
    Skills, Feats, and Special Abilities: List skills, feats and special abilities in a separate paragraph
    Possessions Carried: List the character's carried possessions;

    This Yacht is not a commercially viable vessel. It serves as a personal transport for Cybelle Ambrose Gardner, and sometimes as her home. As a status symbol, her yacht is finely decorated and contains expensive furnishings, paintings and so on. Hers is armed. This Yacht requires a crew of five to operate, the pilot (who doubles as astrogator), an engineer, 2 gunners and a medic/steward to attend to the passengers. The ship cost MCr122.333 new, and took 11 months to build.

    It is a somewhat different setting than the official Traveller Universe, the humans that inhabit this sector are descendants of colonists in sleeper ships that had left Earth in the 22nd century, these sleeper ships had no FTL drives, and their maneuver drives were very slow too, the earliest sleeper ships left the Solar System at a velocity slightly better than the Voyager space probes, they were big ships, but the new low berth technology allowed for indefinite suspended animation.

    So some humans arrived at the planet Freya some 55,299 years later, and found a ocean planet inhabited by the descendants of humanity adapted to living underwater, there were a few volcanic islands the colonists could live on, but space was limited, so the merfolk living in the oceans gave them Jump Drive technology that allowed them to return to Earth. In the 55,299 years of their voyage, the Earth had experienced global warming and then another ice age, and then the glaciers retreated once again, the returning Earth colonists found a planet full of Pleisticene animals (Woolly Mammoths, sabertooth tiger, and the like) and some primitive stone age humans about 4 million of them in hunter-gather tribes spread out across the entire globe, it had been as if history had been reset. The continents were still in their familiar shapes, but on the local level, river valleys had been reshaped by expanding and retreating ice sheets, there were some ruins of cities buried under soil, but not apparent from above ground, it was like the settlers arrived at a new planet.

    Over the next 350 years. Contact with other Earth colonists and alien species was made, and the population of the planet they now called Terra increased to 8 billion. There are roads and cities build atop the cities of old and named after them. A unified Terran Republic was formed, and then the Imperium showed up, the Terrans paid them some tribute and the Imperium left them alone. Turns out over the last 50,000 years Mars was terraformed and Venus was partially terraformed, the pregenerated character you see above came from that Venus.

    As for what happens in the campaign, that's up to you and the decisions your characters make. The setting is broadly similar to the Traveller OTU, but specific places and events are different, the overall technology level of the setting is 15, though some world are higher.

    This is my own original design. This Yacht unlike the standard Yacht in the T20 Core rulebook, has Jump-2 and Maneuver 2, I upgraded it to a tech level 15 design, it also comes armed with a triple turret Laser cannon and a missile rack, so it is quite capable of defending itself from pirates and so forth. Under the design, it has 14 staterooms, I've combined two of those staterooms to make an owner's suit, this of course belongs to the princess, it gives her a little extra room to move around in her private quarters and includes a private shower in her bathroom facilities, she has extra dressers, a wardrobe, and a full length mirror.

    1. Owner's Suite The Owner's Suit takes the space of two staterooms, in addition to a double bed, there are large
    windows overlooking the bow of the ship. There is a dresser, and a mirror, in the dresser is an array of cosmetics, and a
    jewelry box containing 110 one-thousand-credit denominated platinum coins, 100 one-hundred-credit denominated gold
    coins, 5,000 ten-credit silver coins, and 10,000 one-credit copper coins. there are 4 gems one is worth 900 credits,
    the second is worth 10,000 credits, the third is worth 30,000 credits, and the fourth is worth 1,600 credits, 4
    jewelry pieces are worth the following, 60,000 credits, 30,000 credits, 1,000 credits, and 160,000 credits.

    There is a fresher and a shower and bathtub in a separate partition of this suite. The front window also doubles as a
    video screen which polarizes out outside light when turned on, this doubles as an entertainment center with surround
    sound speakers, and a computer terminal and two-way video conferencing center, and can also be placed in mirror
    mode with either reversed or unreversed images of the onlooker. Cybelle often uses this mirror mode to check
    her outfits and makeup.

    The door on the stern wall of this suite leads to the ship's lounge, area 21. A door to the right from the entrance leads to
    this suite's full bathroom. Also in the bathroom is a sink, toilet, and medicine cabinent with first aid, medicine, soap,
    toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other items typically found in bathrooms.

    2. Stateroom. This is a typical stateroom, the pilot sleeps here, it contains a single bed, a chair, and full length mirror,
    dresser, and a partician for a toilet, sink, and standup shower. On top of the dresser is a box containing 70 thousand
    credit platinum coins, 80 one-hundred credit gold coins, 90 ten-credit silver coins, and 10 one-credit copper coins.

    3. Stateroom This is the stateroom for the ship's engineer, it contains a single bed, a chair, and dresser, as well as a
    partition for a toilet, sink and shower, in a footlocker next to the bed is a purse full of the following coins:
    7000 ten-credit coins.

    4. Stateroom This is a stateroom for one of the two gunners on the ship, it contains a single bed, a wardrobe
    clothing and jackets for the turret gunner, in a strongbox are 3,000 ten-credit silver coins.

    5. Stateroom This stateroom houses the missile turret weapons officer and gunner, he keeps track of the armaments and
    orders more on Cybelle's account when needed. This stateroom contains a single bed, chair, a small side table with
    notepad, there is a stylus and tablet computer on the side table, there is a credit chip that contains 72,000 credits
    on it, there is also the following cash: 3,000 ten-credit silver coins in a safe underneath the small table, the combination for
    the safe is 42-34-42.

    6. Stateroom This stateroom houses the ship's medic/steward, it has a single bed, chair, and an exercise bike, there is a
    set of weights, and of course the usual fresher partition with toilet and sink. The medic/steward has a trunk with a purse
    containing 5,000 ten-credit coins, 4 jewelry pieces worth 600,000 credits, 210,000 credits, 50,000 credits, and 3000 credits.

    7. Stateroom This stateroom houses the driver for the armored fighting vehicle located in the ship's boat, it has a bed
    table, dresser, and bathroom. There is a duffel bag with some loose cash scattered among the clothes and a half-eaten
    chocolate bar, the money includes the following: 6,000 ten-credit silver coins.

    8. Stateroom In this stateroom resides the gunner of the armored fighting vehicle. This stateroom contains a bed, a
    wardrobe, a table chair and a bathroom. Behind the medicine cabinet in the bathroom is a secret compartment with the
    following coins hidden behind: 7,000 ten-credit silver coins.

    9. Stateroom In this stateroom resides a mercenary, he acts as a body guard for Cybelle, his name is Ned Whitman, his
    room is neat and well ordered, there is a spare laser rifle with a scope on the wall above the bed, in a trunk at the foot of his
    bed is a sack with the following coins: 300 one-thousand credit gold coins. The bathroom contains a coffee pot on a
    small table next to the sink.

    10. Stateroom This stateroom is the butler's quarters, there is a bed and bathroom facility. Under the bed is a box
    containing the following: 120 thousand credit platinum coins.

    11. Stateroom This stateroom is the maid's quarters, behind the back of the bed is a jar on the floor containing 300 one-
    hundred credit gold coins.

    12 Stateroom The Ship's Boat pilot resides here, behind a picture on the wall is a safe containing 300 one-hundred
    credit gold coins.

    13 Stateroom The Ship's boat gunner is quartered in this room, under the floor in the bathroom is a secret
    compartment containing 3000 ten-credit silver coins.

    14 Speeder bay This compartment houses Cybelle's speeder which she pilots personally when she is away on a planet,
    the speeder is air tight and can operate in a vacuum out to low orbit.

    15 Bridge This is the ship's bridge there is a station for the pilot, and copilot, both positions have controls for piloting
    the ship and astrogation. Two seperate weapons stations can remote operate the triple laser and missile turrets from here.
    A fifth station has an engineering console giving status on the ships drives, power plant and fuel tanks.

    16 Ship's Boat bay This compartment houses the ships boat, it is a hangar that opens to space when the other doors
    are closed, the compartment can be used as an airlock when the Ship's boat bay is empty.

    17 Ship's Boat This is the Ship's Boat, it has been upgraded with a tech level 15 fusion power plant with a smaller
    fuel tank to provide room to store the tracked armored fighting vehicle, it otherwise operates the same as a standard
    ship's boat.

    18 Power Plant Fuel Tank This is the fuel for the ship's power plant, there is a pipe with a valve connecting the jump fuel
    tank with the power plant fuel tank, allowing the fusion plant to run on Jump fuel in an emergency.

    19 Jump Drive Fuel Tank This tank contains the fuel to operate the Jump Drive, there is enough fuel here to make one
    2-parsec jump or two 1-parsec jumps.

    20 Missile Rack and Missile Turret This room contains the missile rack and turret, there are 60 missiles stored here as well as
    controls for operating the turret, there are also controls for this turret on the bridge, usually no one needs to be here unless
    maintenance is required or more missiles need to be stocked here. The racks have enough room to store 60 missile and
    currently all the racks are filled with 60 missiles. The Laser Turret is on the bridge as are the firing controls for it, and EVA
    is usually required if servicing for the laser turret is needed.

    21 Ship's Lounge This is the common area for the ship's crew, there is a conference table with 14 chairs, meals are eaten
    in this room. Meals are prepared by the ship's butler who also prepares the meals for the crew and guests.

    22 Ship's Galley This is where meals are prepared on the ship, there is also a table and chairs here and some fridges and
    microwave ovens to heat up stored food.

    23 Maneuver Drive This compartment houses the ship's maneuver drive.

    24 Power Plant This is the power plant compartment of the engineering section, cables run to the maneuver and jump
    drives from here, and also powers the ships electrical bus, life support, artificial gravity, heat, cooling, and lighting as well.

    25 Jump Drive This is the ship's Jump Drive compartment, pipes run from the Jump fuel tank to here as well as power
    cables from the power plant.

    26 Cargo Hold This cargo hold has 9.5 tons of space here. Usually cargo is loaded from outside for items that are not
    needed until the ship lands.
