Is there anything we should read beforehand? I've never played anything in Greyhawk before.

Greyhawk is basically the setting in the 3.5 book. It has the deities were using too, tmk.

Although...where are we starting out? As an already formed team or are we meeting in a tavern or...?

You will be starting in the Dry Steppes of Greyhawk. You will be a formed team, gathered there for your own reasons. You are hunting Iuz the Evil. He has left his usual seat of power, along with a large force. No one knows what the demigod and his small army are doing. Divinations are shrouded, but a servitor of Iuz requisitioned twenty casks of ale for his force a month ago. In the margin, he scribbled, "re:celebration following Iuz's sack of Tovag Baragu and subsequent ascension."

You can have been brought together however you like, but that is where the adventure will start, with receiving that clue.

And yes, the gods are those of the 3.5 Players Handbook. They are all official Greyhawk gods.

I am not sure. It isn't set up as milestone leveling. It is based on enemies defeated.

Sorry, I could not follow up on my rolls above.

I am thinking some melee. Either a paladin or a straight up fighter, just for the lulz.

We currently have a paladin/barbarian blend as one character. But a second paladin would seem appropriate for the game. A pure fighter would be interesting too though.

Uh... does that conflict with the barbarian I made or did you mean we have both a barbarian and a paladin submitted to this?

The paladin/barbarian is a community built class called the Holy Rager that Lioslaith found on the PFSRD page. That is why I edited the 16 slightly to allow for the possibility of a small amount of homebrew. I still insist on keeping to a basically 2E feel as much as possible, though.

Your barbarian is still fine. I just checked the two sheets I have been given so far for you and our conjurer, and both look very good. Right about where I wanted them, power wise.

Since we do not seem to have a healer, perhaps two paladins will not be a bad thing.

But when are the sheets to be submitted?

    OK thanks.

Well, I think i will go for a dwarven mutation warrior, with spiritual weapon ability. Since he is a fighter, he will probably be outshined and outclassed by mostly everyone, but I think it will be cool to have him follow a centuries-old feud with Iuz and Vecna.

Would it be OK if his mutagen abilities were dwarven stone power? As if, drawing from the earth to become stronger through a brew, and the Wings are his animation of a flying stone beneath him?

I am thinking Steel Soul, Iron Will and just plain fighting feats.

A second paladin would offer some good rp as would a second barbarian.

Would I be allowed to prepare either a persistent magic missile and then use dazing spell on it from my rod? Persistent spell says that spells that don't give a saving throw don't benefit from the feat but I don't think that it specifically says that you can't put it on a spell that has no saving throw. (I'm asking here because I think it's GM discretion).

I think I'm going to swap swift foot for spell sunder as one of my rage powers but I've been meaning to ask in the likely event Kammy tries to pull this:

Can I leap--as in, make a running start acrobatics check to hurl myself at an enemy oppposed to just running as a charge? In case there's a gap or something between me and the target?

So... I've only had one chance to play a barbarian with so many rage powers in the past, and it didn't come up then but...

Is Superstition, and by proxy the "screw with spellcasters" rage powers, worth taking? The biggest drawback I can see is that it will be incredibly difficult to heal Kammy if I take this, and wanted to know if this was shooting myself in the foot or if anybody with experience in such matters knows if it's a worthwhile trade...

Doesn't look like it applies to potions, I wonder if it would apply to wands? Either way I'd say play whatever fits your character and the idea you have. Paradox is not a DM that will punish you for character choices.

@gm, are archetypes allowed? I would have assumed yes but perhaps there is a limitation to "old school" ffel for the classes?

I am considering an unchained rogue

Unchained is preferred. I just noticed/realized that the class I was planning on using doesn't have any healing. Hmmmm may have to just go regular paladin.

May just go with an Oath Against Undead Paladin.

That's a halfling only archetype that lets you steal better
Fluff wise the characters is a kind of an ideological anarchist but not a mean one.
He believes that people with power should learn to respect the power and keep it properly, and anyone who isnt worthy of the power shouldnt be surprised when its gone, and he is a part of the group that see themselves responsible for reminding the people with power that they might not always have it.

And who is more worthy of stealing from than the most iconic power hungry lich in the history of undeath?
