Nah, the idea occurred to me already in the first panel where the illusion appeared. It's just the way it looks (which yes, was deliberate on Rich's part).

    Sculpt Sound maybe?

You change the sounds that creatures or objects make. You can create sounds where none exist, deaden sounds, or transform sounds into other sounds.

Bummer, if only it came with a link to orchestral music.

Definitely the last book, according to the guy writing it.

Or, well, maybe not the last book. But the "conclusion to the story" book.

I love that the spell is called Phantasmal Force and not Silent/Minor/Major Image. It warms my heart! The older edition name (I first encountered it in 1st edition AD&D) was more evocative, more Vancian. Yay!

'twas. I can't shortcut over the poles with my air or naval power at any point and it always bugs me.

It's a great spell in 5e and one of my favorites, though that also kept the Image line and slightly distinguished them. Since I began with 3e, I thought it was a 5e ref, but it being an older edition callback makes more sense in Mr. Burlew's case.

Hmm. I remember Freeciv's topology options allowed for a hex grid that wrapped north-south and east-west, so you had poles as round-ish areas that you could move around/over/through.

I was wondering, if we maybe get a recall of the fight on the hex grid. Roy said you could only surround someone with six people. It was an advantage back then when there were only six people in the party... But now Minrah is on board, too... I wonder if that's gonna be a problem

Unlikely, as I doubt V would want to be up in melee range. Haley also might prefer to stay back, unless her bowstring gets snapped or something.

Vaarsuvius has always been shorter than the humans in the party. I'd guess that it's always hard to depict such scaling in a stick figure comic, having to work with perspective.
If it helps you, you can imagine that V is hovering slightly over the ship's deck

Vaarsuvius has always been shorter, it's just perspective. Look at their feet in #1187. Similarly, Minrah is not a full head taller than Belkar.

As I believe you guys will do the “dramatic music joke discussion” for me, I’m just going to be chuckling here in the corner about the dwarf statue being enough to infer size (y’know, all dwarves are the same blah blah blah). Not sure if that was an actual joke, though, now I think about it.

V’s and Belkar’s expressions are to be expected, but Minrah’s expression is something like five parts “...What.” and two parts “Is this normal?” That probably *was* meant to be funny, at least.
