Hel, Koval, Vander, and Hollis

The first Crypt thing was unable to defend itself, largely on account of the fact that Hel's attempts at Turning Undead had left it magically seized with fear. Crouching down, it madly began to cast a spell, attempting to depart the area. As it was, however, it did not have the presence of mind to cast defensively, leaving itself open.

The second remained open to Hel's commands.

The Crypt Thing, having been Turned by Hel, casts its Dimension Door SLA again, but not defensively. As such, Koval and Vander get AoOs.

Then it is the turn of Hel, Ragbag, Hollis, and Ximena.

Sakura and Robin

Focusing on the fourth ninja to begin with, Robin's strike viciously gutted the Yama clan member, sending him sprawling backward on the floor. Then, not letting up for even a second, she turned around and slashed at the third, catching him across the chest and wounding him grievously.

Spoiler: It is now Sakura's turn, on account of how both the NInjas formerly in this spot on initiative are dead.

As the ninjas began to fall, Sakura felt heartened at their success. She sprang forward after the last of their immediate foes, slashing away.

Vander saw the crypt thing retreat, opening a brief window of opportunity. Of course, he could punch it with his great elfen strength, or he could do something far more effective.

Vander waved his balled-up fist at the creature as Koval began taking chunks out of it. "Yeah that's right, flee you miserable construction, flee, before our elfen might rends you're half-assed corpse into ATOMS."

Vander mimed some hand signs as if he were planning to caste a spell

Hel watched as Vander gesticulated wildly, squinting dubiously at the display. She waited a moment to the effects of his efforts, but as none immediately materialized, she cocked an eyebrow at him and sighed.

"You're such a drama Queen." She rolled her eyes before turning her attention to the Crypt Thing under her Command.

"Don Pedro, would you please attack the other Crypt Thing? I have no more use for it." She waved her hand vaguely towards the Crypt Thing cowering in fear, a look of pity flitting across her features before she let loose a large glittering snowball from her hand at one of the phantom armors. She directed a rather pointed look at Vander as if to say, that's how its done.

Sakura and Robin

Sakura's slash caught the last ninja across the chest, and as he staggered backward, Gabriella pulled her crossbow from her belt and released a preloaded bolt from it into the man's chest, sending him toppling over.

Gabriella reloaded her crossbow before once again placing it on her hip. "Shall we proceed further inward?"

Ragbag continued to pound away obediently at the armor-shell-creature as instructed. Hollis tried to help his construct along, punching apparently nothing but thin air in front of him; however, the force of the punch telekinetically transferred to the guardian armor.

Hel, Koval, Vander, and Hollis

With the first Crypt Thing off balance due to its being turned, Koval's attack against it was able to find purchase, and his blade cut deep into its flesh. Similarly, Hel's snowball against it also found purchase, though it did not sap its strength.

On the other side of the room, while Ragbag's first few punches were not enough to dent the second phantom armor's punches, the third struck true (in no small part thanks to Ximena's earlier spell), and severely crushed the breastplate. Removing a small dagger from her belt, Ximena then tossed it at the armor, and it sank deep into the joints between the helmet and chest. The life force keeping the armor intact vanished, and it clattered to the ground, now newly re-dead.

The other armor, turned by Hel's earlier efforts, continued to cower in the corner, doing nothing except defending itself.

Koval's AoO vs the Crypt Thing hits, so its SLA fizzles and it does not escape.

Then, Crypt Thing 1 made the fortitude save against Hel's snowball - it avoids being staggered, but it does take 11 damage.

Hollis' attacks did not hit the phantom armor 2, but the third attack from Ragbag did, and then an attack from Ximena (as rolled in the OOC) finished it off.

Phantom Armor takes its turn and uses Total Defense.

Vander noticed Hel's self-satisfied look and smirked. Vander supposed it was time to get up and actually cast a spell or two. To that end, he cast magic missile against the remaining phantom armor.

Satisfied at his acting Vander performed an exaggerated bow at Hel. 90% sure he was helping.

"We should, yes," Sakura nodded. "If Sunako is here, I do not with to give her a chance to escape. But we need to be cautious. We were fortunate they were, I think, unable to warn their comrades farther in."

Nodding, Gabriella moved to the ladder at the far end of the room and climbed down carefully.

Once at the bottom, the party spotted a passage to their right. Looking down at the end, the passage emerged after a short distance into another, larger room, thirty feet long and twenty feet wide. A large door, ten feet wide, was set in the far end, and around the frame were set carvings of dragons and lions, their mouths open and facing the party.

Upon the door, an inscription was painted in Asahian script. Two small pedestals sat in the center of the room, each with a small clockwork gadget making a soft ticking sound.

Looking at the mouths of the dragons and lions, you spot a bunch of rather suspicious-looking tubes recessed within.

Hoping to shatter the hostile Crypt Thing, Koval rounded on it, blade swinging in a low arc towards the base of its spine.

Koval's swing, unfortunately, swung wide of the first Crypt Thing, hitting nothing but air. The Crypt Thing, still turned and having not succeeded in using its ability to teleport earlier, went for another approach, leaping off the 20-feet overlook where the current brawl was taking place - though it did leave itself open as it did so.

Managing to stick the landing, the Crypt Thing then made its way to the double doors at the south end of the room, where it was promptly ambushed by the second Crypt Thing, still under Hel's control. The first claw swipe it made missed, and while the second hit, it did not appear to penetrate the first Thing's defences.
