Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
This reminds me of Hallowed Moonlight which doesn't really do that much but at least draws you a card. Destroying creatures that entered from the graveyard is nice but wont they just come back again? Maybe should exile the yard too.

Seems like a good anti-necro card. It seems pretty situational, though, since there aren't many cases where stalling a necro deck for one turn will accomplish anything.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
Ancestral Weapon looks like a fun way to mutate-reanimate something. It's funky enough that building your deck to abuse it is a requirement in itself, so the lack of color restriction is probably okay. The Ring of Spirit Binding is narrow but very strong in any deck that wants it. The only cards I can think of that block opponents from stealing your creatures are green, and while I'm not sure where "can't leave the battlefield" falls on the color pie I don't think it's blue/black. This might actually be more of a Progenitus situation?

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
So... that's an awfully quick way to get a lot of tokens. Don't forget that this card in no way guarantees that you don't have blockers; heck, from the phrasing, you could remove your own monsters from combat, giving you control of every step of this process, which doubles over the size of your forces.
Next, something related to birds, fear, farming, or a 3 cmc creature with two keywords

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
Why does it need indestructible and hexproof? Indestructible alone seems perfectly serviceable for what you're trying to do. I also feel like this is a missed opportunity to make it an artifact creature like most scarecrows. Even without hexproof, the answers that would remove this are hard to justify running in your deck just for one goofball scarecrow, so most opponents will still get burned to death by the roman candles you stashed in its head.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
So, a counterspell is a little off-color for Red, but I could see it working if you end up taking the damage regardless. As it is, it's slightly more costly than Blue's equivalents, but also a strict improvement, since you can throw some burn damage into the mix.
Next make a card with an activated ability that doesn't cost mana.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
I'm really not sure where you got that format from. The cards themselves don't use indents or highlighting or anything in the text box. Is there another CCG that does, and you're trying to simulate that? I know some people try to use curly brackets to designate mana symbols, and I imagine that's helpful for people who aren't so used to the syntax as to know when to expect one from context. This doesn't carry that benefit, though, since it expects me to know what an activated ability looks like and reverse-engineer it from your >[]. Anyway, this card is fine for its cost and rarity and the drawback doesn't really need to be there. I imagine Dullahans have some mythological reason for being easily paid off, but in this case it just feels like it was stapled on to make it fit the challenge.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
So, this is... Peculiar. It's going to be difficult to gain the effect you want unless you control the offending card, which is pretty much always going to be a step down. Plus, the effects themselves are sort of lopsided; you never want to destroy a land, destroying a creature or artifact barely does anything (except remove it) and is a particularly bad idea if you own said creature, so ideally, you would use this card to break enchantments. Plus, it's kinda cheap for easy universal removal.

So, this is pretty much just planeswalker suppression, right? Most of them only gain +1 at their most optimistic, so this shuts them down pretty hard. Compared to that, stripping tokens of their abilities and discarding a card are small-time. (Unless your opponent is running Thopters, that is. Assuming "all abilities" includes keywords.)

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
Helheim Barred is kind of growing on me? The initial cost is very expensive, and if you cheat it out it's a fun gimmick but doesn't do much on its own since it protects your opponents' stuff too. The real value would come from the activated ability, but it's very hard to use unless you were already close to winning the game. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by, 'the graveyard.' MtG has to specify whose graveyards you can pick from, or else say, 'a graveyard,' if you can pull from anyone's. It doesn't make much difference here, though maybe being able to take your opponents' previously-discarded creatures will help make up for a deck built around cheating this out without many big win conditions.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
Alas, by the rules of this game, the Lurkers are not able to attack their controllers save for some serious silver-bordered shenanigans. You could rephrase the ability to make it work, though: "When this artifact is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, target opponent gains control of all Lurker creatures you control. Those creatures each gain, 'this creature attacks its owner each turn if able.'" It's a mouthful, but in this case I'd say it's worth it for the sake of the story you're telling. Since only one Myrkstone canonically exists, you can probably give it the Legendary card type. Since the drawback is potentially disastrous, you could probably get away with making it less expensive to cast, too. Then you'll have a much better chance of being able to actually use it!

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
So I don't know the reference material but the obvious comparison is to W&6, lets take a look.
+1: Not quite card advantage but also gives a lot of information. I think this might be too powerful in front of a control deck since it ticks forward as well as gives you the know on what to counter. Feels real bad to play against.
-2: Destroy target artifact, this is probably fine but I think it is too strong that it costs -2 and the walker starts out with 3. Maybe have it start at 2?
-3 Again, this is a reasonable ability. I would maybe cost it at 4 and bump the starting loyalty at 2. Otherwise this planeswalker can just be played as the ultimate which is an effect stronger than the sorceries you see at 2 mana.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
This is a weird card. You can tap 4 power worth of creatures to either draw a card or kind of Scry 4. Putting 4 loyalty counters on it every time adds up quickly, and you could see the top 8 or 12 cards of your library and rearrange them, which is potentially strong. However, I'm not sure what kind of deck this would go into. Aggressive and midrange decks probably don't want to tap their creatures to activate this, and control decks might not have the power necessary to crew it. The last ability is also odd, but it at least makes sure this will stick around until you can activate it.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
Predator is big and oppressive by design, likely locking creature-based strategies out of the game unless they have removal. Then again, if they do have removal, they can use it in response to the fight ability and put you very far behind. Combined with its exceedingly-fair body, it raises the question of whether one bothers to remove it if you don't quite have the mana for the ability yet. What if you turn out to have Prey Upon or something in the meantime? It's an interesting enough decision to make a card like this worth having around.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
So, I don't see any real reason why this card would ever target your own artifacts, since Treasures are a downgrade from basically anything else. As such, this card is only useful when your opponent is running a deck with artifacts, which isn't exactly guaranteed. Furthermore, it's in your best interest not to run artifacts at all while using this card; the way it's worded, you'll basically be forced to give one up if you happen to have it out when the Treasureologist hits the field, and since using your own treasures don't benefit any goblins you control (again, thanks to the wording), that's an unmitigated step down.

Re: MtG: YMTC challenge VI: Companion Did Nothing Wrong
See, you mention technical consequences of wordings when you review a goblin, but then you go ahead and write things like, "be destroyed as a result of battle."
I think the way you'd likely see the effect written is with a triggered ability ("whenever this creature blocks or is blocked, if it would die this turn...") or by checking its current status ("if this creature would die, if it's attacking or blocking..."). Also, did you really mean for the 4/1 side to still be a bat? Does it have an adorable little doll cape or something?
