Medwyn waits for a couple of seconds, as though surprised nothing's happening, and then starts silently acting like he's having an acid trip.

Alistair turns back to Nearest Sailor. "Apparently," he comments, "the philosopher is also bad at holding his drink. Sorry, translation duty. But as I was saying, the parrot? We'd be interested in knowing where it came from."

"Or at least, he will be, when he's sober." Alistair sounds slightly exasperated as behind him, Medwyn continues to be gripped by the throes of his 'acid trip'.

Nearest Sailor "Ah, well, I have no idea where that stuffed parrot came from....guess it has always been there.

If your looking to have an animal stuffed, you want Lewyn Cuellar. That fourth hut back there with the garden. He's asleep now, but he will be up with the sun."


The green grog tastes good, and does have some alcohol in it, but it's not that strong.

"I'm ready to make camp - just think we should stick together for now. I was thinking down near the beach." Ramirez shrugs.

"Yes—for today, anyway." replies Alistair to Orat. "Do we all have tents, or at least a bedroll each?"

Then he gives a nod of thanks to the sailor. "Your assistance is much appreciated, sir. I think my companions are growing tired, and this one"—he indicates the 'acid tripping' Medwyn—"certainly needs to get some rest, so I will bid you goodnight."

Medwyn gives Alistair a confused look. He considers asking if it's time to go, but decides not to hint that he understood that conversation.

The shore line just a couple feet from the village is quite empty of any activity and quite wild. Rocky beaches, plenty of wild plants and plenty of insects. It's also very dark.

"We should probably go to the south beach. Miss Qinqirelle said she'd be there."

Ramirez waits till everyone seems to be done their business in the village and leads the way to the beach to find a safe-ish place to camp. He keeps an eye out for the spot the Elvish lady had mentioned.

If people are still talking/doing stuff in town, Ramirez can/will wait till they are done. Not trying to rush anyone or cut them off- just posting to keep us moving.

A bit down the south beach is a small stretch of sand that goes out in the water, with two large rocks on both sides. Ildilyntra Qinqirelle is there sitting on the ground in front of a small pile of rocks.

Medwyn drops the acid trip act and walks up to her. "We couldn't find an inn. Is this where you're sleeping?" he asks in Elven.

Alistair is a little puzzled at Medwyn's sudden 'recovery'. Unfortunately for him, he has no knowledge of elf biology, so he simply assumes they must be able to recover from drunkenness incredibly quickly.

"Good evening, Miss Qinqirelle," he says, with a slight inclination of the head to Ildilyntra. "Mind if we join you?"

[Zarrgon]

Ildilyntra Qinqirelle "Well again. Make yourselves one with the wild. "

"Thank you. There is something we should discuss," Medwyn says in Elven as he sits. "Before we do, do you have any way of being reasonably sure we aren't being scryed on?"

"Relatedly," says Alistair, coming up behind Medwyn, "would you happen to know if the dragon uses magical stuffed birds, or similar devices, to keep watch over the island?"

As he speaks, he sweeps his cloak off his shoulders and gives it a little shake before laying on the ground, at which it promptly transforms into a one-person tent.

[Zarrgon]

Ildilyntra Qinqirelle "A stuffed bird? I have no idea."

Ildilyntra frowns, then shrugs when she sees the tent, then goes back to looking at her pile of rocks.

I suggest we set double watches. This is not a nice place and we don't all trust each other yet

"If trust is an issue for you, at least one will have to be a triple watch, since we are seven. So which two of us do you trust the least, Miss Orat? With a triple watch, you can keep an eye on both at once."

"I can stay up for most of the watches if it helps, I only need about 2 hours shut-eye in a pinch"

Well there are 7 of us including 2 elves, so I suggest that those two alternate trancing and the rest of us draw lots and take an hour 40 each. That way there will be always be two of us on watch.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the capabilities of some of you

Alistair thinks for a moment, then speaks. "If you're not that picky about who you're with, then may I propose something a little less random than lots? It seems to me that our group possesses three of what we might call 'warriors'—as can be seen from those of us who carry weapons, and those who do not."

He pauses to indicate Orat, Ramirez and Nefer with a woody limb's sweep, then continues.

"I exclude you, Master Aleister, not because I doubt your ability with that blade of yours, but because you seem to me more negotiator than fighter—correct me if that is not the case. It seems prudent to me to pair each... individual of other talents with one warrior, in case any pair is attacked while on watch. I volunteer for first watch, as I was planning to conduct a mystic scan of our vicinity anyway, but my mundane senses are somewhat less acute, so I would be well served by a partner with sharp eyes and ears. As for Miss Qinqirelle, I think she has earned the right to choose whichever watch she wishes, having been through the most."

Ramirez bows slightly and smiles when classified as a warrior. "I need a full nights sleep unlike some of you but I can see okay in the dark close up. My senses are reasonably sharp. "

"My senses aren't bad, per se, but I'd rather not bet all of our lives on them. Maybe I should take second watch, and we can pair me up with someone who has better eyes and ears."

"It's a shame to go into Trance with all my spells still prepared, though."

Orat looks for somewhere dry and not too uncomfortable

Medwyn waits for Alistair to magically scan their surroundings before he starts up with his Trance.

If no one wants to take any more actions....

The night passes, and the next day the sun comes up.

Other then lots of annoying insects, nothing bothers your group on the beach at night.
