    Y'know, "must've been all those BLOWS TO THE HEAD I've had recently" and "thank you for healing the sun damage you caused" always get a chuckle out of me, but I'm just not that big on how Durkon and Belkar have developed since then. So, Elan and Julio. It's pretty hard to beat Julio's "farewell".

    While both of the alternatives are good, and I especially liked Belkar & Shojo in the fever dream at Greysky, the Roy relationships, being Roy relationships, are just more central to the plot and more fleshed out in the story.

    As much as I like sassiness, and as cool as Belkar's "Fake Character Growth" arc was, at the end of the day the richest stories in OotS for me are the ones where people with a very strong sense of right and wrong. Roy, Durkon, and O-Chul may be my favorite three characters, because they're all deeply committed to doing the right thing despite their various character flaws.

    Also, Saha & O-Chul have perhaps the coolest dynamic in the OotS canon, with significant respect for each other despite very different beliefs and behaviors. Their conversation about the "right" thing to do about GDGU's central plot is a great example of this.
