I'm going to say that Roy and Haley isn't really that interesting to me at all. I guess she's #2 in the OOTS, and both are great characters in their own right, and there's been character growth on both sides, but I don't feel like much of it came from Roy and Haley's relationship. All I can think of this the end of DSP.

Meanwhile Mr. Scruffy and the Belkster have really come a long way from the pineapple throwing days. Mr. Scruffy is also sometimes a surrogate for Lord Shojo, and both are the bridge for Belkar to come back to humanity.

Jirix x Redcloak. They haven't gotten anywhere near as much screen time, and Durkon is great, but Jirix and Redcloak, and the Gobbotopia storyline they carry, are so much more compelling to me.

Durkon & Belkar This one is perhaps one of the most evolving relationships in the story and is certainly not over yet. Redcloak&Jirix is a fine senior manager/middle manager relationship in the environment of goblin hierarchy, but does not have much place to go anymore.

There's a lot of meat on the bone for that one, at least from Durkon's vampirization onward. Redcloak and Jirix, while fun, is not as deep I think. There's some interesting plot elements that hang on the goblinoid faction being separate from Team Evil, but Belkar's character arc (and Durkon's, but particularly Belkar's) in dealing with the fall-out from the battle with Malack, is I think a more interesting development and it hangs on his relationship with Durkon.

Roy and Eugene. Their relationship is fundamental to the whole comic, it’s the reason Roy was dealing with this conflict in the first place until his motivations matured. And it’s fun to see Eugene be a jerk just to get smacked back down by Roy once in a while.

I hate to put it this way, but while Wrecan and Veldrina have their personal quirks which I do appreciate, they just feel like Autistic Roy (not an insult, it’s the counting thing) and Female Elan. They didn’t get quite enough screen time and their interactions are done better/more frequently elsewhere in the comic.
