Well that was a sweet final farewell to the crew of the Mechane. Chances are if we see them again it'll be in a dialogue free time skippy epilogues so this might be it.

Well it was fun getting to know the pirates. Hope we’ll see them in the inevitable where-are-they-now epilogue.

Less grumpy and more afraid of heights, I think. He also wasn't a fan of the flying carpet.

Also, i love how Blackwing and Haley naturally assume the opposite ends of the spectrum in the first panel.

I absolutely love the multi-angle visuals on that Wind Walk spell! That must have been quite the experience to draw; it looks phenomenal on the page.

Very cool visuals in this comic. I really enjoyed the last image of the crew and the large wind walk panels.

Just now noticed the misnumbering? Guess he really doesn't read the fora.
Looks like Blackwing will not have fond memories of the Mechane

Also, it occurs to me that they could, in theory, be mistaken for mist-form vampires. But I'm sure no such wacky hijinks will occur. What are the rules for vamps misting in 3.5? I'm certain this was discussed relatively recently.

I doubt it. It doesn't look much like letters at all. Just Elan having fun, flying in zigzags and loops, like last time.

Did Durkon cast it twice, or is this just a rules fudge? He'd have to be 18th level to cast it on 6 people.

    Gaseous Form (Su)
As a standard action, a vampire can assume gaseous form at will as the spell (caster level 5th), but it can remain gaseous indefinitely and has a fly speed of 20 feet with perfect maneuverability.

That's Haley trying to get some Elan in her, not Elan himself.

I would assume a rules fudge/OOTS version of the spell instead of SRD version.

As others have said, that's Haley, however, I don't think she's just trying to mix with Elan, I think she's trying to mix all their trails because a bunch of straight line clouds are noticeable, and she wants a more natural appearance as camouflage.

The natural state of a dwarf is to be underground. The problem with flying is that defying nature means nature might restore the natural state of things at terminal velocity. In other words, it's not the fall that he fears, it's the sudden stop at the end.

Nothing suspicious looking about a bird flying ahead of seven thin distinctly-shaped smoke-colored low clouds, one of which is weaving crazily about; and that's not even getting into their velocity with regard to wind direction!

Redcloak for certain would know something was wrong and even Xykon would be suspicious if either of them happened to look up. It's not like Wind Walk is a unique spell that no one else has ever heard of.

Or was the stark difference (aside from Haley's antics) for the audience's benefit when in actuality they're blending in much better?
