I don't remember where I heard that, but I remembered the poem itself out of nowhere.
The version I know starts with "One fine day, in the middle of the night."

I'm actually very familiar with it (though not its source) as it was something my Dad always used so quote when I was a child, though I've not heard it or thought about it for a good few years, so thanks for the little burst od nostalgia.

Thor Ragnarok is as good on the second viewing.

Mine as well, though it also calls them "two old boys"

Thor Ragnarok rules! One of my favorite movies of that series.

My point is, I'm sure there are people out there that might actually really love your voice. And I'm certain that there are people that will dig your accent.
The accent is a mixed bag, it'll go well down in the US, but get me called a posh **** by UK watchers. The real problem is the autism voice (and my actual voice is like several tones higher/lower than I think it is and that combined with the pauses freaks me out?) Plus I drone, and I'm fairly certain my tone jumps wildly at points.

It seems to have turned into kind of a cliche that nobody likes the sound of their own voice-- at least when they hear it recorded.

Wikipedia has that version, which is also the version I heard:

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead men got up to fight.
    Back-to-back they faced one another,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
One was blind and the other couldn't see,
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
    A paralyzed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind men in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine-inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all.
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And went to arrest the two dead boys.
If you don't believe this lie is true,
Ask the blind man – he saw it too!

Hi everyone! Stopping by. Hearing of not liking one’s voice being recorded reminds me of when I helped a friend with an AV project for college and we did a short film. I wrote a really cool script! Then no one remembered their lines me included...so we improvised and created a cheesy Star Wars short. It was so bad.

You're not wrong. My exact thought when I heard my own voice recorded was, "This is agonizing to listen to-- my god, is this what I've been doing to people?"

It definitely doesn't help that my raspiness has gotten worse as I'm getting older, and it sounds like it might be affected since it comes and goes.

I get around the problem by doing a silly cartoon voice sometimes. It's still annoying, but at least it's annoying on purpose.

My voice always sounds deeper to some degree when I hear it recorded.

For a Spanish class, we had to record a Spanish language skit and in the video, my attempt at neutral-toned Spanish dialog sounded like I was the male lead on a Telenovela.

Nah. I'm not exactly a wordsmith, and if I were, "writing" would replace "radio".

Though, to be fair, I'm also damned sexy, so it's odd they said "radio" instead of "television" to begin with.

I'm one of those people who finds certain noises extremely irritating, like nail clippers, chewing, and making humming noises to yourself.

So of course when I hear myself talk through a mic I do literally all the things I find most annoying, makes me want to slap myself when I play online games.

I've gone in reverse. For a period of time after I hit puberty I was in this awkward phase (which is a phrase that applies to pretty much everybody, I know) where my voice was in some horrid purgatory where it could only do two settings: monotone at subterranean pitch and Elmo.

So, you know, at that point the only direction to go is up.

I took Spanish in college and my sole 'accomplishments' in three semesters of Spanish were a. accidentally accusing my classmate of hating white people and b. accidentally telling my professor that I ride my guinea pigs like horses. I've since come to the conclusion that Spanish ain't my strong suit.

Better jump directly to Jan Neruda - who knows? Maybe the romantic language of Czech people would improve the feeling people get about their voices.

Definitely would make people care less about their own voice and more about the fact that the language has such wonderful sounds - those magnificent ř and pure ň...

What non-famous person (IE not Morgan Freeman) do you think has the best speaking voice? I nominate Ramsey Dewey, an MMA coach who does Q&As on youtube. He was clearly meant to be an actor.

Ugh. I don't even sometimes. Came to boot up Outlook, as I have it continuosuly open along Waterfox at all times when on the computer, noticed that Dad's inbox was duplicated. Looked in, seemed both were almost identical, but both reading no later tha 2017 - and on neoither was the send/recieve button present. Don't know the FRACK was going on, but after some fiddling around, it seemed like someone/something had opened a pst file (stored in the documents folder where I periodically back the emails, as opposed to the ones on Local/Apps etc etc) for Dad's inbox specifically from 2017. Opened mine from the same positon, same problem. Finally went into account settings and removed those datafiles from the list (since APPARNETLY MS REMOVED THE RIGHT CLICK "CKLOSE DTA FILE OPTION" at some point.

That seemed to magically fix things, as Dad's normal inbox was back, complete with all the stuff up-to-date.

    I seriously do not even.

(Now I don't trust Dad very much when it comes to this sort of thing, but one feels he would have had to be PARTICULARLY inept to have opened pst file like that, because he wouldn't even know what a pst file was, much less how to open one (I had to google it).)

But apparently this year is just "frack Bleakbane off as much as possible," though why it insists on doing so when it KNOWS it's only going to end with it being metaconceptually set on infinite pain forever, regardless of how much time it takes to get to that point, I don't know.

So, in kind of desparation, I dug out and started watching Spider-Man the "new" animated series (the CGI one from 2003, hense the parenthesese, the one that ran on MTV I think). First three episodes, anyway (as I tend to watch cartoons/animae/et al in threes). Had it on DVD for a while, never seen it (I think i might have caught one episode when it was actually broadcast, but I don't remember anything about it.)

It's... Odd. The early 2000s animation doesn't really do it any favours, even when compared to, say Reboot or something, which was earlier. It moves... Wrong, slightly janky? A bit uncanny valley. It's... Okay? Otherwise, so far. It's a notch up more mature than the 1990s series, but not hugely so, at least as far as I've seen. (Not compared to Young Justice Season Three or "How many Teenagers Can We Messily Splortch The Series" at any rate...) It all seems a little... Understated, almost, in places.
