    Default Civ6itp 1: We Came From the Lands of Ice and Snow

    Thinking about setting up a cloud save game of Civ 6. Anyone else interested?

    I usually play on Prince, because I am terrible at the game.

    But anyway, anyone who wants to play is welcome, just let me know!

    Well. As far as settings go, I am open for pretty much anything.

    And PvP is fine with me, that’s a lot of the point isn’t it? But if folks want teams we can do teams, or we can do a player-only game with the Domination victory disabled.

    Or we can disable all of them and just see who has the best score at the end of the world.

    So, I say we vote on some settings.

    I prefer small continents, and probably teams. IDK about wincons, last time I won a game I culture won by accident from tourists.

    During my games with friends, I've definitely had a lot more enjoyment out of just casual teaming up against the AI, but it does kinda… either take most of the challenge out, or just mean we all die together, depending on if we play on 4 or 5.

    Was interesting trying to pair up with a random AI each - definitely was a lot of chaos, since you can't exactly tell the AI to not go to war.

    But, I'm fine with anything, though I'd prefer to avoid the Absolute Ruthless(tm) mentality. I'm fine with losing (and I expect it in PvP), but being utterly crushed is... not super enjoyable.

    Edit: Don't really care about wincons, though most PvP games I've seen tend to end via Economy.
    Might be interesting to pair up or whatever with PCs, depending on how many players we have.

    What about two teams? That keeps it more competitive but also lets us team up.

    Yeah, two teams seems good. AI team not necessarily included.

    I tend to prefer some form of split landmasses, just so that the water game's there. I've found Pangaea has a tendency to mean based on where you start, you might not interact with that entire bit of the game.

    Yeah two human teams I meant.

    I do like having some reason to use water, what about 7 seas? Then land and sea are viable.

    Though, some AI stuff might be good as 'spoiler' stuff. And that we can get mad at without feeling bad

    How would this work from a logistical perspective? Would it be a more deliberate, "wake up in the morning and issue that day's orders while sipping coffee" affair, or would it be a "block out an afternoon and mind the simultaneous turns vigilantly" sort of affair?

    Given it's cloud save, presumably the former - no reason to set it up that way if we were trying to herd cats together for a grand dustup (won by whoever researched Lasers first).

    Not at home right now, so I can’t set it up, but I don’t think who sets it up is all that important. I’m not sure what all we need to get us into the same game, but if you need it, I’m Lentrax on Steam.

    Looks like it should work, according to this article:

    In order to quickly join up with friends, players need to use Civ 6's join code feature. The host player will have to send out the game's join code to those they want to join. Those who want to join have to input the code on their end so that they may join. This feature allows for players to play together whether they're playing the Steam version or the Epic Games Store version.

    To input a code when performing crossplay, players should select the multiplayer option on the main menu and then select the "Internet (Unified PC Play)" option that comes up. This will only work with PC versions and is not available for Mac and Linux players.

    What DLC does everyone have? I have everything except for the Maya & Gran Colombia pack.

    If anyone can confirm, if this is anything like when we did the Civ V GMR games, we won't be able to use DLC that any player in the game doesn't have.
