    Yeah, I realized I didn't know the etiquette for that in online games. I've only done games with friends where we just pick leaders, but that felt kinda wrong for me to do not knowing what the norm was. So I panicked, and just picked random.

    (Also, yeah, Tyrant can't join if we're using any expansions.)

    Just a preemptive request: no matter how heated in-character arguments and fights get, can we agree to keep our out of character interactions civil? Memories of how nasty GMR 15 got towards the end really soured me on playing these for a long time.

    Yeah, sometimes things can boil over, if it's hard to differentiate between IC and OOC. It's easy to feel miffed if, say, it feels like the others are ganging up on you just so they all can have a piece of you.

    Well, that's terrible. I have no idea why the game thinks a tundra starting location is in any way balanced, or fun.
    It's better than my Canada start one time, at least (as far as I can tell). Two strips of tundra above ice, then three tiles width of grassland... then a huge-continent of desert. With desert and tundra across the sea to the east.
