Sign in. Post gone?

This has happened a number of times to me:

0. I'm not signed in. Use Reply to Thread button.
1. Write a long post. (This doesn't happen to me on short posts, only long ones)
2. The site tells me I need to sign in, to post. Fair enough.
3. Sign in, get taken to a white screen.
4. Hang forever.
5. Refresh the page, I'm signed in, by my post is gone.

Yes, I believe that is how it goes. The forum does save a post in progress every so often, but only if you are logged in.

Lacking any solution, can I instead recommend you get in a habit of selecting-all & copy (crtl-a, crtl-c)? I do it all the time, just in case the submit doesn't work, or something goes wrong in some other unspecified fashion, and has saved my bacon more than a few times.

As usual GW's wisdom is sound :D
Also when I log in, I generally click the "leave me logged in" check box. This way every time I visit the site I'm logged in no matter what. Every once in a while it resets, but most of the time I visit, I'm already logged in and good to go!
