Ptekme comes to at the top of the watchtower, loosely pinned against the wall by a javelin. He is able to work the javelin free of the wall and remain hidden, working to break off the bone weapon to regain mobility without bleeding himself out.

The sounds of cracking bone are drowned out by the cry of the magma cleric as Qaba's arrow finds its mark and he staggers back, clutching the arrow embedded in him. Zantos' arrow is less helpful, going wide and cracking against the frame of the door.

The injured dwarf looks through the frame of the watchtower and sees Zantos, coming around to swing at him with a greatclub. But Zantos reacts quickly and ducks, the weapon striking the frame and shaking the tower slightly instead.

Hearing a sudden shout from under him, Qaba looks down to see the fallen human Ptekme bit earlier surge back up in a clumsy uppercut. The elf quickly dodges the punch, and the second one as the human fights wildly like a dying animal. While he's distracted by the man, he feels his skin start to blister from a wave of convection tossed by the Crematory cleric.

Lazaar appears from around the building.

Faldar pulls away from the flailing carru, narrowly avoiding another horn swipe as he places a hand over the spreading grey rot on Bontar's body. His hand's healing light banishes the necrotic force and Bontar awakens with a gasp. From the nearby building, the gladiatrix emerges. "None of that!" she shouts, and hurls two daggers at Faldar. One of them cuts his arm as it flies past, while the other lands in the sand. But she is too late to stop him from bringing Bontar back.

Seeing the mighty dwarf get back up, the dwarven punk rushes at him, swinging wildly with his greatclub. But Bontar is able to roll out of the way and charge the tower. His stone maul sails through the wood with a sickening crack, and there's a moment of silence as everyone seems to pause for a second. The dwarf up top shouts in dismay as the tower starts to lean over towards the broken leg - and straight towards Bontar!

Squeezing himself as small as he can, Bontar slips through most of the supports as the tower falls, taking some scrapes and battering to his arms and shoulders. The dwarf up top is less fortunate, landing prone on the ground in front of the rampaging carru. Moving as quick as a dwarf can, he gets up and scrambles back. Bontar can feel a familiar unease settle over him as a shot from the dwarf's psi orb splinters some wood next to him. The psion turns just in time to see the carru coming at him, and ducks around a swipe of its horn.

Covering Bontar, the lady takes a stab at the dwarf attacking him and lands a solid hit on his arm, then cracks her bone club in half over his head. She keeps hold of the bottom half of the club, the sharp end potentially serving as another, improvised shiv.

Greven slips away under cover of a wall. The ganger behind him growls and starts circling the wall, placing his hand against it to push himself around the corner, only to discover his hand passes right through. "You are really pissing me off." Slowed down slightly by the wall, he pursues Greven around the corner and pulls out a pelota, tossing the spiked ball. It brushes just past Greven, snagging some of his robes and leaving a small tear.

Left behind, Qoheleth lies unconscious next to one of the humans. The man looks back and hisses at his mul ally, "Hey. Help me move th' guy, we gotta get back and warn Korno. Should take a prisoner with'us so we don't seem useless." Taking off his shirt, the man uses it to bind Qoheleth's hands, and the two of them begin to carry him away from the scene.

Meanwhile Faldar is confused by the sudden collapsed tower, the Carru still roaming around goring people, and some daggers flying around his ears, one of them wounding him. In the distance he spots some rabble trying to lug away one of the robed figures. While Bontar is looking around for someone to hammer down. Bontar, who seems to be thinking, must have stopped raging after being knocked unconscious. Faldar decides on the spot, he throws a hopeful blast of energy at the human rabble carrying the robed figure. "DON"T YOU DARE!!" After which he quickly runs behind the dagger thrower, the Gladiatrix. "You've made a grave error, woman. If you focus on me, you won't see the hammer coming down. ... or a maul."

Bontar stands still for a moment, after the semi successful tower collapsing. He growls at the psi warrior, but then he hears Faldar taunting the Gladiatrix and quickly moves over. Ptekme rises back up and hurls the tri-bladed weapon. It spins through the air and sticks into the Crematory cleric's chest, sending him to the ground.

Qaba and Zantos quickly clean up the area below, their blades striking down the rabble still clinging to the fight. Lazaar's missiles fly across the field, pelting the last dwarf multiple times in the chest and sending him falling to the ground in the spreading patch of ash. The carru is starting to look tired out by the sapping Ashen ground, and backs off, retreating into the alcove beneath the bridge.

While moving away to flank the gladiatrix, Faldar fires a blast at the Killers carrying Qoheleth away, but he doesn't hear any cry of pain or thud. His shot most have gone astray. The gladiatrix pulls another dagger from her boot and squares off with Faldar, taking a few test stabs that he weaves around. "You don't even have a weapon. Cocky psi-" she's cut off as Bontar's maul removes her head from her body, from behind, splattering Faldar's face and nice clothes with the results.

Greven arrives soon after, with a ganger following in tow and taking cover around the corner, hesitant after seeing the state of the fight. The last Watcher standing ducks around her dwarven opponent's strike and slashes across his chest with her shank, then takes the broken club and drives it into his shoulder like a stake. The dwarven man groans in pain and crumbles. The club half fragments against his bones, left too small to be worth anything, and she discards it. "On it." Turning, she advances on the ganger, who looks even less thrilled about this than before.

"Alright, I give," the man tosses down his weapon and holds up his empty palms. The Watcher frisks him and tosses aside his second, and last, pelota.

Nearly exhausted Faldar wipes the blood from his eyes. Across him stands Bontar, wiping the grueling remains of the Gladiatrix head from his maul. Slowly he realises the battle is over. A hard fought battle for sure.

He watches the elves run after the running enemies. Breathing heavily he calls after them. "Zantos, we need to get away from here! This is not the time!" He is not sure whether he heard him.

After giving Ptekme, Bontar and his newfound allies a quick check, he goes around checking on the rabble. He stabilizes any that still remain alive, just like he did to the civilian earlier. "All them are victims really, these just picked the wrong side." Ptekme gets another job though, Faldar decides he finds the gladiators and clerics to dangerous to be left alive. Besides, they did have more of a chance to pick a different path. So Ptekme goes around finishing any gladiators or clerics that are still alive. Meanwhile, Bontar is send to get the wagon.

Zantos and Qaba follow the fleeing Killers as they drag Qoh away. Just as they round the corner of the building, expecting to overtake them, they find the next street empty. Looking for tracks, Qaba spies their trail. The dusty ground avails the tracking elf, for they'd been dragging their feet under the weight of the robed figure, and the scraping footprints lead straight to the door of another sandstone building. They'd likely been hoping to lose the elves by ducking into hiding, with no hope of outrunning the pursuers.

The door proves to be unlocked, with the gang rabble crouched inside behind an upturned table. "****, hold up. We know when we're beat. Right?" he elbows his mul companion in the side.

"Uh, yeah," the mul answers through tired eyes, clearly still not entirely there after being rudely awoken by the attack.

The mul holds up his empty hands. "Left my stuff back at the bunk." The human next to him takes off a bag of stones from his belt and drops it on the ground next to him. He doesn't seem to have anything else.

Together, they lift Qoh back off the ground and carry him behind the elves back to the rest of the group. The Watcher leads her own prisoner into the open at knifepoint. "Looks like we cleared the outpost. I don't think we can hold this place for long, but a bunch of you look roughed up."

When Zantos returns with the robed man, Faldar immediately approached him. Feeling relieved that they didn't run into any serious trouble Faldar adresses him and Qaba. "Zantos, you'll get a bonus for that. Great effort! That could also mean that Korno doesn't know yet." Faldar says while looking Zantos and Qaba over for wounds. "Qaba, is it? Let me take care of some of those wounds for you. Now that I've had some rest I feel much stronger." He then leads them to the pile of stuff that has been collected. "We didn't discuss whether you could share in any gains we made during us working together. But as a token of my appreciation for your expertise and courage during the fight, I'd say we share equally. So feel free to help yourself to anything you need." He then turns around and oversees the binding of the prisoners.

Soon there after, Bontar approaches him. He looks only slightly cleaner than before, but doesn't seem to care much. "That was a good fight. It's been awhile since I've had to give it my all. And the new guys did well. What do you want to do with the magic users?".

As the group settles for a brief respite from the hot desert sun, Greven silently uses psionics to finish off those Faldar had stabilized, severing their minds from their bodies. The prisoners are gathered to be kept an eye on by the Watchers, the lady helping her friend to stand back up. "Are you alright, Samon?" she cradles his face, looking at the scorched burn scar along the right side.

"My... Rasha, my face..." he touches the scar and winces. She moves his hand away and back down to his side.

"Don't touch it. It could get infected if we leave it like this," she takes out some cloth and binds the wound to keep it covered from sand and dust getting in.

The prisoners shift around nervously. "Right. Mercy. Mag-nani-mous," the ganger comments, sounding unconvinced by Greven's words, sounding out the last one - he probably doesn't even know the meaning of it.

The orbs are yours, if I ever want to sate my curiosity I will ask you. Your motivation intrigues me however. What powers do you adhere to, .. it almost sounds religious?" Qaba does a circuit of the fallen, finding that none of the ones they haven't taken prisoner survived. Someone already slit the throats of any notable threats - the clerics, Crispy, and the psions. The rest seem to have simply succumbed to their injuries from the fight. He binds the hands of the still-living prisoners.

Many of the bone weapons are lightweight and can be piled on the cart with relative ease. Only the great weapons and chitin armor have any real heft to them.

The lady Watcher rolls her shoulders and checks herself over for injuries. At the Prophet leader's whispered words of acknowledgement. She gives him a quiet nod and looks over the pile of loot. "I could use some extra blades, in case any are broken or lost," she says, taking a couple of the gladiatrix's daggers. She examines the blades clinically, decides they are fit enough, and slides them into place next to her own.

Her companion, unsure how best to respond to the Prophet, performs a simultaneous bow and salute.

Ptemke examines the lock on the door and, finding no traps or tricks, sets to work unlocking it. With a click, the lock is no longer an obstacle. The sturdy wooden door creaks a little and reveals an old armory. It is sparsely stocked, but doesn't look to have been looted or disturbed since the fall of the city, probably owing to none of the Killers cracking the lock yet. The templars from this post must have taken what they could carry and left the rest.

Qaba's gentle approach and the food in his hand puts the large animal at ease - as does the period of quiet after the battle was over. The morsels are slurped out of his hand, leaving it covered in animal drool, and she glugs down the water gratefully. Now convinced of Qaba's lack of ill intent, the carru rubs its nose up against his hand in a friendly gesture.

"Says the noble's bootlicker," the captive ganger comments under his breath when Zantos tries to convince them to join.

The human man next to him tells Zantos, "I used to work for one of them nobles. You're just dirt to them, you know, whether you a human or not. All they care bout is maintaining the old order."

The group travels, walking along in formation. Passing through the fencing along the Ghost City border at one of the points where it was broken, they leave the outpost behind with the undeniable evidence of a conflict with Defilers, but no clear indication whose Defilers sacked it.

Even inside the walls, the hot sun does not know mercy. The only solace is the occasional cloth draped out overhead in front of someone's door, providing momentary shade. Those accustomed to the desert heat are undeterred, but Faldar and a few of the prisoners slow down noticeably.

"You'd better not be planning to butcher that carru," Samon comments, walking alongside Qaba on the flank while he watches a couple of the prisoners in front of him. "That's a she. Keep her alive and you'll have milk for years instead of meat for a day."

"He's right," one of the human prisoners comments, panting and dragging his feet. "Doesn't keep long out here. But that stuff'll give you a great energy boost... give me some water, and I can teach you how to milk her?" He suggest, licking his lips with his dry, parched tongue.

Circling to the southwest towards the Psiumarkh, the group passes through the cramped streets and squalid homes of the poor quarter. Unlike the Ghost City, where the 'unclean' lived even if they were fairly wealthy, this place is sparse. Homes are little more than a single room with a bed and sometimes a stone chest or box for personal belongings. Anything here is already ransacked, some of the doors kicked in. At this point the houses are little more than convenient shade.

This place is close to the Prophets' Encampment.

Feeling the heat and possibly some exhaustions after the adrenaline wears off, Faldar falls back a little, resting one hand on the car for support. He seems to be quite pissed at what has happened, and looks over at the prisoners.

"So, while we're travelling, I better fill you in on what's going to happen to you when we get to my place. For the last couple of blocks you'll be lying on your bellies, eyes closed. I don't want you to know my location. If any of you move, you'll find a swift death before we get there. I might ask one of the Prophets to do so." With that said he throws a questioning look at the robed men. "So at some point we'll get there. You'll be seperated from your buddies. I'll have Zantos or one of his buddies torture each of you for information on Korno and his killers. If that doesn't work, I'll ask the Prophets to assist. If there are any discrepancies between your stories, I heal you up, and we start again. Pretty straight forward right? Well, there is one extra rule to this game. The first one that talks gets to go free afterwards. The other two die. So I suggest you think about what you are going to tell us when we get there. It might save your lives!"

With that, Faldar steps back a little, and pays no more heed to the prisoners.
