New Fast Full HD Screen that doesnt bancrupt me
As the title says, I am looking for recoomendations (from personal experience only please!) for a 24 or 27 inch Full HD 144hz+ Screen.
Must haves: 144hz or faster
Overall good picture quality
non PWM Dimming (flickering makes my head hurt)
Good Ergonomics
Nice to haves: USB Hub
Really great Picture Quality
I am willing to spend up to 250 euros, but less is always better.
Screen is used for: 50% Work, 25% netflix/Youtube, 25% Gaming.
So far the AOC C24G2 sounds like a no brainer, but I dont know anyone who ahs it (and shops here dont have it either, so I cant check beforehand).
Thanks ina dvance!A neutron walks into a bar and says, “How much for a beer?” The bartender says, “For you? No charge.”

Piggybacking here: if one can recommend the above as 16:10 non-curved, I'd be interested too...

Re: New Fast Full HD Screen that doesnt bancrupt me
Well, the one I asked about is flat, but 16:10 is sadly a dying form factor.....and I for one know of no 16:10 screen with 144hz....
We use Dell Ultrasharp 2412 at work, which are excellent picture quality qwwise, but not for gaming (60hz, slow screen)....Last edited by GrayDeath; 2020-07-01 at 02:13 PM.

Re: New Fast Full HD Screen that doesnt bancrupt me
I'll share you my experience of buying a fair bit larger screen. I was looking at the ~32" range (because I had a fullhd 28" and I can't go *down* in size) and wanted 4K or 144Hz (OK I wanted "and" but the price *shudder*).
Eventually my compromise was a curved 31.5" 2K screen at 144Hz. And I find that I probably needed 4K. The problem is I'm sitting too close to it basically for the size of the screen. And I can't easily move my position further away. It's really on the edge, if I lean forwards I can see the pixels, maybe 30cm back would be perfect.
If gaming is you minority concern might not even need 144Hz, I can't honestly tell where the extra hz are going on my screen.
A friend of mine has a much larger ~40 something 4K screen at 60hz and that's almost better. The interesting thing though was it had odd shading on some games. It's probably not fast enough in the blacks or something.
My conclusion is sadly it turns out to be fairly important to look at screen IRL. The Hz:s and Ks and ms:s don't mean anything on paper compared to seeig and using the screen.

Re: New Fast Full HD Screen that doesnt bancrupt me
Your friends screen sounds like a VA one.
They tend to have shadowy "smears" if they are too slow (which, given I really like their overall look, is sadly the case with most).
And well, yeah, I could buy a "well enough" Screen and leave it at that.
But its not getting much cheaper to go for 100hzish, and going back down to 60 to 70 is a nogo (even my oldish one is at 75 and needs replacing).
So yeah.... seems little info is forthcoming, so I ordered it.
If there is interest, I am willing to post my experience?A neutron walks into a bar and says, “How much for a beer?” The bartender says, “For you? No charge.”

Re: New Fast Full HD Screen that doesnt bancrupt me
It arrived.
Set it up and did some tests (Games, using a Display at 144hz at office work, checking for the expected IPS Glow/BL Bleed).
My Verdict so far: Excellent Build Quality and ergonomics, IPS Bleed/Glow is low enough that I need above ISO 600 on my P30 Pro to make it visible (or turn the screen to over 80 Percent brightness in a dark room).
Colors seem very good but not quite as amazing as I had hoped (granted, my previous Asus TN was rather good colorwise, for a TN^^).
Gonna play around with calibration a while the next few days, but so far: very happy. Can recommend.A neutron walks into a bar and says, “How much for a beer?” The bartender says, “For you? No charge.”
