Final Fantasy Record Keeper XI: More Expansions, More Salt!

Managed to clear all the non-DB Torment stuff except the five shots at mastering high-difficulty IX. I've gotten that one in the past, but it's a bit of a tricky one, especially given that I don't have a ProShellga Glint+. I'm reluctant to swap Elarra in; I'd rather try it with Eiko if I can. The rest, however, were all quite gratifying.

I also exceeded the 250 mythril mark in advance of fest, which is always a positive note. Sure, if you really want everything you need more like 500, but I'm pretty good with having one shot at each banner, and using my change on the LotRs.

We'll see how that goes.

IX Bahamut hits really hard but was surprisingly fine until the phase change. I don't have much for Eiko so it's basically down to Steiner and Quina to keep everybody upright long enough to trance.

V stomped me in like 2-3 hits.

I've barely scratched DBs. My top pri is 6*s right now. Still only have Titan and Ramuh down (from like 6 months ago prob now).

Going to wait until I can select Edge AASB. Have his Sync, should help immensely.

Yep, one AASB and one USB. Got those, beefed up a team that was somewhat lacking. Skipped the Lucky Draws, saved my mythril, getting ready for Fest. And now, it's time for those present draws!

First, the freebie: Reks' USB, which is new. Remember, when you do a pull on this freebie, you also get your choice of one three-relic set: AASB, AOSB, and LMR, for one character, one per realm. My teams are relatively well kitted-out, with the exception of XI and XIV, so I think I'll grab Alphi's set.

But before I do that, let's spend some tickets!

• First pull, Jecht's AASB! Not bad at all.
• Second pull, Krile's AOSB and Arc's USB. Definitely not complaining.
• Third pull, Hilda's W-Cast LMR, Kain's USB, and Luneth's Wind Chain. Sadly all dupes.
• Fourth pull, a USB for Sazh that actually deals damage! That's novel.
• Fifth pull, Sabin's OSB.
• Sixth pull - how many of these do we get? - Sabin's AOSB. 'Bout time I got more stuff for this guy.

Lotta new stuff, which pleases me. Now to grab Alphi's set, and then start reorganizing my inventory.

And my first Arcane Dyad, Tyro's, which... look, I still don't quite get how these things work. It's basically a buff followed by an AOSB?

That said, batch of realm/element tickets, woo! I kinda want to save some, since the pickings are a bit slim, but I also want to spend. So let's try one pull on the FFRK banner! The result: Wedge's USB, which is a dupe, and Tyro's Sync, which is decidedly not. That makes me want to risk another! No sync this time, but Biggs' USB and Elarra's AASB, both of which are new!

Think I'll sit on the last three realm/element tickets for now.

My pull - 1/11, OK's Limit Glint. I think I have one other of these, and can safely say I have never used one. Then again, I've also not beaten a single Odin, and I'm pretty sure that's where they're needed, maybe? So I have no idea.

But it's definitely not enough to satisfy me, and I have the mythril to spare. So heck with it, another! Now this is a pull - 5/11, all disco! Strike that - three are even better than that!

Daily draw was nice to me - a new Glint, that's a good feeling.

Daily ticket draw, though? That was nice. AOSB for Seifer, sadly a dupe. AOSB for o'Light, that's new. Best of all, though, Sync for Pencil. That's very new, and very, very good.

Useful dupes lately I suppose, at least as far as hones, lenses, and without having to sort through inventory.

Garland was being a pain again so I just threw Orran at him. I'm leaning towards trying that on several other teams, although I lack both sync or honed awakening.

Third banner gave me 1/11, Queen's Lightning Chain. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine Lightning Chain, useful, but that's just a bad pull. I feel like I could do better.

I ended up doing 4 pulls (because I’m skipping banner 5). 1 new relic each. Hope G+, Queen Sync, Zack Sync, Hope Sync. Feeling good.

Oof, I'm at a crossroads.

Trying to assemble team Kill Leviathan. Definitely going physical. Going to use...

1. Orran, 'cause I have his full kit, and that physical QC is super nice
2. Prompto, 'cause CSB and imperil
3. Another healer, 'cause I don't think Orran alone will suffice
4. ???
5. ???

Now for 4 and 5 I have several solid options: Kain with AASB and Sync, Queen with AASB and Sync, Delita with AASB and Sync, Edge with only Sync, Lightning with only Sync (but I can get either AASB thanks to the fest).

While Kain doesn't have the high hit count for dishing out damage and building chain, he excels at breaking rage. I'll probably go Edge AASB for his versatility, could indeed make it onto the team. But... Queen or AASB-less Claire? And either over the former 2? And also Kain can jump... decisions, decisions. And Delita...?

Well, it's time for banner 4! Remember, banner 3 is still up if you need it!

My pull was 3/11, so right away, I feel like I don't need a second pull. Confirmed, in that one is a disco ball, and two are - what's that category we use for "even higher rarity than disco ball" again? The "Dr. Mog was holding out" ball? Point is, I got Alma's ProShellHastega Glint+, Luneth's Sync, and perhaps most valuable to me at this time, Queen Bea's Sync. My Holy PHY team is still not quite clicking - why did Pencil have to be the only Holy PHY Sync I have? - so having something for Queen Bea, Queen "My HA breaks Deathgaze's rage instantly" Bea, is pretty great.

Also, I think I might get her HA now. You know, 'cause.

Yeah, I'm not pulling again on this banner. No need to test my luck further, I'm pretty set.

Ooh, this means I can pick a USB! Gotta think about that one...

Beat Leviathan a couple more times. How have a maxed one.

Was going to prep for Ifrit. Turns out you can't get Edge AASB from Chonkobo Secret Shop. Need to reeval.

EDIT: Alright, got it, need to do the 2x pull -> AASB select thing. Fortunately just need 44 more mythril, can clear our a backlog of realm/story dungeons, some event stuff, should be g2g.

Still need to do... big AASB select, free realm select, limited AASB select, Sync select.

Maybe I'll finally assemble a decent Ice team with this.

Been out of the loop for a while, so this might have been pointed out, but a minor PSA:

The most recent Black Chocobo event (Howling Forgery) should be done by most people lacking a Physical Wind Chain, or a Wind Chain altogether. While most Gen 1 Chains are pretty pisspoor, Zack's Gen 1 Wind Chain is still one of the most impressive ones, owing to being essentially a prototype of Gen 2 Chains and then some. Zack's Gen 1 Chain has both an Attack Boost and (IIRC) a Crit Damage Boost, which effectively multiplies your damage despite the 99-chain limit. It goes perfect with most Wind damage luminaries, and if you finish the event, you should have enough Krakka Greens to purchase it and still have something to work with.

Seconded. I mean, grab whatever you can, there's some other useful stuff in the shop too, but definitely make the effort to grab that Chain. It will be worth your while.

Time to pull, and it's 3/11, two discos and one Dr. Mog Was Holding Out. Survey says: Rydia's G+, which is a nice boost just before breaking out the big guns; Rydia's AASB, which is also pretty great (although I already have her Sync which does a lot of heavy lifting); and the big prize of the bunch, Edge's LBO! Rydia's gear is new; Edge's LBO is not.

So I think it's time for one more pull to get me that Glint stamp: only 2/11 this time, one of which is another Dr. Mog Was Holding Out. Minfilia's USB which is... kinda neat, I think? Oh, and Edge's Sync. Given how insane his damage output is with his AASB, I'm kinda frightened as to how his Sync will do.

Plus I got that Glint stamp.

Seeing as I'd need two more pulls to get the Sync stamp, and have only 50 mythril, I'm thinking I'm done with the banners. I might look over some of the LotRs, I might save for next Fest, I haven't decided yet. But this was a pretty great haul.

ANOTHER EDIT: Decided a few realms could still use some work, decided to pull on one or two LotRs. XIV gave me nothing - an LMR for Yda. XIII gave me a shiny - a USB for Sazh. Sadly, that was a dupe. FFT gave me a shiny - a USB for Rapha, also a dupe. I don't even know why I tried XI, but I did - a USB for Prishe, also a dupe. Lesson learned, gonna pick a ProShellga G+ and go home.

Hmm, much to my surprise, I'm going to try to tackle Ifrit with my mage team rather than my (imo overall superior) phy team. Reason being the fire pillar mechanics, going to kamikaze them with Rydia, while Strago chains and dps's (has sync), and Edge just does dps (has AASB and sync), and Aria does her fire shielding.

Good luck with that. The problem you will likely run into (I did), is doing too much to Ifrit himself (he is stupidly squishy) thus triggering a very bad situation. I never managed to beat him with that strat. Always went wrong in phase 3.
