Sure, yeah, why the hell not?! It's probably just like that annoying paperclip Microsoft had that repeats the same things over and over again.

Eli's recalled his attempts to write papers in college using Word. He hated computers. What on earth made him think this would be a good idea. He couldn't recall when the notion even popped into his head.

A yellow scroll appears before you and unrolls, revealing a floating blue light with wings.

Your vision is filled with a box of slowly scrolling text explaining exactly how to open the feat list and focus on a particular entry for more information. You are unable to skip this painfully slow tutorial, but you are eventually able to select your feats.

Ugh... this is worse than the in-game tutorial I played before, but it doesn't matter. I've got nowhere else I can go, apparently.

Time didn't seem to have much relevance. He was in limbo. So why not just follow along. He attempted to speed up the process by tapping here and there, on the sheet and the orb and the orb's dialog.

He already knew the rookie mistakes to not make. His first character had been a fighter, and he had spent all of his choices in defensive options. It made killing things almost as painfully slow as this tutorial. The only part he focused on was if the choices of feats would remain the same forever, or if other options would be opened as the game progressed. If that was even mentioned at all.

Spiked Chain. Eli remembered how the players had made fun of his choice to use a longsword and a shield, claiming the spiked chain was the most optimized weapon in the game for any melee player.

A selection of skills appears, and you are informed that you have 16 Skill Points to assign. Clicking through a few of the skills, you discover that the that your skills are the normal selection for a Warblade. You gain 4 + Int mod skill points per level, and cross class skills still costs two points. So, nothing significant has changed with this process as far as you can tell.

I don't need help with this part, at least. Eli recalled going through all of the skills and their descriptions during his first character creation.

Odors of dust and damp earth assault your senses.

You realize that you are lying on the ground, your eyes closed.

The assistant let something slip. Reincarnation. This is like the Matrix then... but to be reincarnated, I would have had to die. While in the game. Was that the blue screen and error code.

The dragonkin opened his eyes and stood up, taking in the surroundings for the first time. The entire system, the prompts, the weird saying about death being possible all seemed to make sense once he had heard her say it. Looking down, he took stock of his body. Claws, scales, the feeling of minor magic. Was it dark, could he see clearly even if it was?

He activated the stance to heighten his sense of smell, to help investigate his surroundings.

He opened the character sheet and noticed the Hearthstone and Inspect abilities. "Siri, what were those dice for? And tell me about the Hearthstone and Inspect, please."

However, when you examine your sheet, you find that descriptions of those abilities are readily available on your sheet.

You open your eyes and find yourself in a small cave, approximately 20 feet by 20 feet. It looks very much like a basic room in a Dungeon.

Near the center of the room is a shallow pool not quite an inch deep and about two feet across. The faintly glowing water is the only source of light in the room.

A dark tunnel in one wall appears to be the only exit.

After studying his sheet for a few moments, he laughed. Reincarnated into a game. As a naked. The videos of watching people play Rust didn’t seem like such a waste now.

The dragonkin used his Inspect ability on the glowing pool of water, it being the only real feature of the room.

"Yes, please."

While he waited, Ssrask checked the room for any not-so-obvious things. He was immediately grateful for his new scaled body, complete with clawed feet and hands. It might have been very uncomfortable if he were still in a human form being naked in a stone dungeon room.

Tutorial: Inspect
To use the Inspect ability, look at a creature or object and think the command word "Inspect!" If your check is successful, Inspect will provide basic information based on how advanced your knowledge is. To gain additional information from Inspect, you will need to already know it! Invest heavily in your information skills to make the most of Inspect!

He waved the information away.

Focused on the Sacred pool, Ssrask wondered if it was like a catholic holy water basin. He dipped a claw in at first, to mark his skin with. If that did nothing, he cupped his hands to drink from it.

Nothing happens until you drink from the pool. Once your thirst is quenched, a small glowing gold buff icon in the shape of an open book appears in the top left of your vision.

Ssrask stood up and inspected the golden icon as he made his way toward the doorway out of his stone room.

Beyond the doorway is a narrow tunnel leading down to a deep pool of water.

You notice a small jade obelisk about six inches tall near the doorway and feel drawn to reach out and touch it.

He couldnÂ’t help but not trust his feelings. He assumed this was a Hearthstone that his ability suggested. He used his Inspect ability to verify and touched it, it thatÂ’s what it was.

He selected ‘Yes’ and moved down the ramp closer to the water. He tried to notice if the tunnel was completely dark or still lit by the pool.

There's enough ambient light from the pool to make out basic details. The water at the end of the tunnel, however, is dark and cold.

"Are Dragonkin good swimmers... are we cold-blooded?"

Ssrask waded in about waist deep to see how his body reacted.
