    Default Help with draconic heritage

I vaguely remember some optional rule that allowed to get draconic heritage as a bonus feat under some conditions (specific race/background/class combination) - but I'm not able to find it, and I am afraid I am mistaken and confusing it with the chance of getting dragontouched for free by being a DFA (which is a completely different thing). Can someone clarify my doubt? Thank you in advance...

Dragonblood Sorcerer will give you Draconic Heritage as a bonus feat at level 1, but you have to trade your ability to get a familiar.

Thank you! This is was I was looking for! Oh, and, by the way, now that I read it again, it does look like it's a trap, doesn't it?

It's not the greatest trade, but Obtain familiar does exist, and makes your familiar scale even if you PrC out, which of course most sorcerers do. If you end up taking it you're essentially trading your feat at 3 for your feat at 1, and you get the level bonuses when in other classes. That's not a bad trade.

I was rather thinking about the fact that I could exchange the familiar for the "Metamagic specialist" ACF. In addition, it requires you to be a dragonblood, which restricts your racial selection; example: if I want to be human, I'll most likely be silverbrow, which means 1 skill point less and a restriction on the draconic heritage (including spell known through draconic legacy) and draconic bloodline (you'll need to ban fire spells) feats. These downsides may be crippling.

It saves you a feat, which you can then spend on Obtain Familiar... which is based on your caster level, instead of character level. This allows you to multiclass and still advance your familiar. Also, UMD as a class skill, which is all sorts of nifty on a Charisma-based build. So... not exactly a trap.
