Re: Portal to D&D IC - Thundercracker
Arelyn surfaces and maintains concentration on the swarm, and looks around to see if she can spot it. If it’s nowhere to be found she takes some time to clean herself up in the stream and drinks her fill. She heads to the north end of the valley, slowly, and then back to the rabbit hole.

Re: Portal to D&D IC - Thundercracker
You sense the summoned swarm dissipate. It seems that there is either a maximum distance involved past which the System doesn't allow you to maintain it, or... something killed enough members of the swarm to disperse it.
You find the hole much as you last saw it, partially excavated with signs of battle.Quod tibi vis fieri, facias.Spoiler: Links to my content threadsAldhaven - May 27, 2010 and ongoing.

Arelyn heads back to the grove to eat and checks how much meat remains. If there’s enough for another meal, she’ll head back to the hole.
If not, she’ll cook the second basher whose corpse she dragged into the grove, and store it under the rocks like the first, then go to the rabbit hole.

You successfully cook the basher, tossing away the bits that you think were starting to go bad in the process. You produce enough meat for 4 more meals, but you're not entirely sure how long it will last without some way to preserve it longer.

Re: Portal to D&D IC - Thundercracker
Arelyn will send the swarm into the forest, then while it is munching on the critters there, she will walk the length of the valley to the mountains, and repeat, sending the swarm into the mountains. She thinks the critters in both areas will respawn in the time it takes to walk the valley, and her plan is to cycle both areas until she has enough xp to advance her main class again.

Re: Portal to D&D IC - Thundercracker
You can't tell for sure whether or not it's undead, but you go ahead and blast it just to be safe.
The wolf staggers slightly until the blast and turns to face you. Its rotting face reveals only bone with a bit of fur still stuck to it in places. Definitely undead.
It moves towards you with all the speed of a wolf and attempts to bite.

Arelyn puffed out her cheeks as she breathed a sigh of relief. That was too close. She returned to the grove to recover, then ate to reset the bonus timer, then continued on south along her previous path, keeping an eye out for critters, especially another badger, and also a decent sized stick she could use to ward off enemies who try to get close.
