    You kill the bat.

Unfortunately, you accidentally disturb the entire colony. They begin to take flight, rapidly forming a swarm.

Moving quickly now, Arelyn grabs the dead bat and tosses it into the water where (she supposes) the crocodile was, then moved onto the ledge outside the cave, trying to stick as close to the wall as possible, and sliding back towards the forest.

You are engulfed by the swarm after tossing the bat but before you can escape the cave.

    You take (1d6)[1] swarm damage.

Thankfully, the swarm is just trying to exit the cave, and the injuries you take are more accidental than intentional.

When you make it beyond the mouth of the cave, the bats ignore you and are quickly out of sight.

Arelyn slides along the rock face, attempting to get back to the wider portion where she can jog again, and hoping whatever is in the water is drawn to the bloody bat corpse she just tossed in.

The valley is unchanged since you last visited it. There is little more than grass, the occasional bush, the stream, and dragonflies buzzing around the water.

Near the steep walls of the valley, you encounter an occasional area of scree where you can easily find more rocks.

Other than the dragonflies, you see no signs of animal life within the valley.

You encounter no such things... until you see a vine start to move.

    Wait! That's no vine!

A green snake of some sort drops down out of a tree almost on top of you, but you spotted it and deftly avoided its ambush.

It hisses at you as it coils to strike.

    You have Initiative.

Edit: It is adjacent to you.
