I can have the rabbit cooked up, but I'm keeping half of it as a service fee.

Coin and service, perhaps, Lilac says. If your patrons enjoy song, I could work here for a while, providing merriment.

[Rizban]

He shrugs. "That could work. Town should be coming from the fields any minute. You hop up on the stairs over yon and get to playing when they arrive. You can keep any tips."

Will do, Lilac says, and heads over. Like I said, Shanna, we should focus on getting you your gear first, so any money I make will go towards that.

Once the people arrive, I will use Perform (Sing) to make some moolah and good will!

I will take 10, for a total of 17, if that is allowed.

If not, I'll use my presumably crappy roll of (1d20+7)[13]. Even if this roll is higher than my taking 10, I'll still take 10 if allowed, since that's what I declared.

I have 25 pips. And here is the rabbit. Thank you for cooking it.

He pulls one of the decorative shields down off the wall.

"You're a bit short on coin, but I'll sell you this small wooden shield for the 25 pips. Or if you prefer a weapon, I could part with my old shortspear for the same price."

[Lentrax]

The shield will do nicely. Thank you.

Shanna sets her twenty five pips on the bar.

[Rizban]

He collects the coins and hands you the shield.

A few minutes later, the farmers begin to roll into the pub and order drinks.

Lilac takes her spot on the lower stairs and sings, finding that the patrons are quite taken with her. Her biggest fan, however, seems to be the elder's son that she met earlier in the day.

Several hours later, she's earned (4d10)[18] bronze pips in tips... pips tips.

Periodically, Lilac will take breaks, both to let anyone else who might want to perform do so, and to rest her voice. She does encourage anyone who looks like they might be interested in singing give it a try.

[Lentrax]

An excellent performance, Lilac. Shanna says, greeting her new friend after she finished singing. If I trusted my feet more right now, I might have danced to it.

Gathering her club and new shield, she turns back to her companion.

Should we see about a place to sleep? Or would you want to try our hand at camping?

Let's try to find a place, she replies, and walks over to the man who she talked to earlier. 'Scuse me-could you introduce me to your father? My friend and I would like to see if we can find a place for the night, and he could help us, right?

[Rizban]

"Uh, sure, I can, but you're Not staying here at the 'Berry? They've got rooms for rent."

We may be completely broke, Lilac "jokes" in response. So if we can room somewhere without having to pay for a bit, while we help clear out the rabbits, that'd be for the best.

[Rizban]

"Well, if you don't mind sleeping on the floor, there's an empty house in town. You can rest there for the night, but it's got to just be the one night..."

I guess that'd work. Shanna, Lilac calls over to her, any objections to borrowing an empty house for the night? It'll be safer than camping out.

[Lentrax]

No objections from me.

[Rizban]

He quaffs the rest of his ale and motions for you to follow. He shows you to the abandoned house, which is in surprisingly decent condition. The floor is bare, compacted earth, but the roof and walls are well maintained and appear to be leak free.

He bids you goodnight but returns about 20 minutes later with several thick blankets and two pillows stuffed with straw.

Thank you for all of this, Shanna says when the young man returns with the blankets and pillows. We hope it isn't too much trouble.

[Rizban]

"It's no trouble for one night, but the townsfolk won't put up with strangers freeloading more than a night. Hospitality will allow for the one, but..."

[Lentrax]

We understand. Again, thank you.

Lilac thanks the young man, saying We really appreciate this. We'll do our best work on the rabbits tomorrow.

And with that, she settles in for a night of rest.

The night passes uneventfully.

The sounds of the town coming alive can be heard first thing at dawn.

Shanna stretched, and then folded the blankets she had used for bedding.

We should return these, and then perhaps check out that church you mentioned last night?

What are rabbits' activities like? Would now be a good time to strike? Lilac ponders as she awakens. But yeah. Church good.

[Lentrax]

Alright then. Let’s return the bedding and then head for the church.

Shanna goes outside, laden with her things.

Lilac carries a bit, though not as much as Shanna. Sorry-Strength 8 makes for a low carrying capacity. Thanks for helping carry everything.

She looks around for the man who's been so helpful, so they can return the sleeping supplies, and asks him What can you tell us about the old church?

Assuming there are no rumours of monsters or similar in the church, she'll head there after returning everything, and investigate.

Having returned the sleeping equipment, Shanna goes with Lilac to the old church.

[Rizban]

You encounter the elder's son Jim, whose name you've just remembered that he told you at some point in conversation, as he's leaving what you presume to be his home early that morning. He thanks you for returning the bedding and places it just inside the door, closing and locking it behind him.

"Ah, the church has been abandoned since I was a little boy. The last priest died about the time the adventurers pulled out of the area, and the church has been empty ever since. We used to play there a bit as kids, but we stopped after part of it collapsed in a bad storm and we started getting whippings from our parents for playing up there..."

[Rizban]

You both suddenly receive a popup, immediately followed by a second popup.
