You manage to find one fallen branch that might make a decent club if it weren't so long. The wood is dry but not quite to the point of being brittle. You suspect that if you make it into a club that you won't get much use out of it before the branch breaks.

You'll need to shorten it to make it into an appropriately sized makeshift weapon.

Iriander brings the branch to Berserker. "Hey, Berserker, I need you to cut into this branch a bit, like riiiiight...here." Iriander tries to guesstimate where it would be best to cut the branch, then gestures it towards Berserker. After Berserker scores the wood a bit, Iriander tries to snap it off at that point.

Possible Strength check for Iriander to break a branch that has been cut into by claws. Rolling on the off-chance he gets a nat 1 for the comedy: (1d20-1)[16]

You successfully turn the branch into a makeshift club. The weight is a bit off, but it'll suffice until you find something better. Or it breaks.

Stats are as normal for a club. Does not count as improvised.

Iriander hefts the makeshift club a bit in his hand, before offering it to Shanna with a smile. "Here you are."

Once she has taken it, he moves to stand beside Berserker, his protector. "Shall we be off, then?"

If there is no objection from Shanna and Lilac, Iriander directs Berserker to start walking down the game path he had taken earlier. He and Berserker keep both eyes open for any more spiders, and move cautiously to keep from drawing too much attention to themselves. He motions for the others to do the same.

Shanna hefts the club and gives it a couple of practice swings.

It's no rapier. But it will have to do.

Shanna follows Iriander down the path, and keeps her eyes open for the spiders he mentioned.

You begin to travel down the makeshift path and move away from the swamp.

You hear an angry hissing sound, one which Iriander recognizes. He looks around in a slight panic before pointing out a tiny monstrous spider in a web about 10 feet away.

All the same, Shanna hefts her club.

Lilac stays in the middle of the group, not wanting to get her 8 Constitution butt mauled by a spider.

Despite also having an 8 Constitution butt, Iriander stays close behind Berserker as the eidolon leads the way. He mentally instructs it to continue moving cautiously through the trail.

You hear more hissing coming from the trees, as if responding to the sounds made by the first spider.

"Oh, for the love of," Iriander mutters, beginning to cast a spell of protection on Berserker. He quickly gets a prompt telling him that he does not have the required arcane focus component, and he wants to rip his hair out in frustration.

Suddenly, an idea hits him. Mentally signaling to Berserker, the behemoth lets the sling holding the giant rabbit corpse slide down its arm. Iriander grabs the sling and, huffing in exertion, he flings it as far as he can ahead and to the side, so that it is still in the spiders' path. With any luck, they will want to go after the unmoving pile of meat and leave them alone. If possible, he then steps back from Berserker.

Berserker readies itself to strike the first spiders that come near.

Iriander will attempt to throw the rabbit carcass into the spiders' path in order to distract them as his standard action. Then he will fall back ten feet.

Berserker will ready his action to full attack when two spiders are within range. However,

I believe Berserker gets an AoO for the first spider that comes into its square, so, AoO: (1d20+5)[10], (1d4+4)[8]

I'd been forgetting to factor in an eidolon's BAB of 1, which is the reason for the different numbers from previous times.

Shanna waits for the spiders to come to her. With no armor, she does not feel like getting completely swarmed.

Plus, I have like, no stats. Even these could eat me alive with my AC of 10.

Lilac begins to sing, a powerful melody masking her fear. She looks to see if moving will make her any safer as well.

That's my Standard-for my move, move to the safest possible place within 35'.

Lilac inspires courge in her allies and backs away from the fight.

Iriander throws the rabbit he's been carrying around into the path of the spiders, distracting three that are crawling along the ground and one that drops from a nearby branch. The other five, including the one that has left its web, ignore the carcass.

Shanna swings her club at the first spider that comes within range, whiffing through the air ineffectively.
The spider leaps at her, and she swings again as it provokes an attack.

Berserker splats the first two spiders that come within reach, but he misses the one that leaps to attack him.

Berserker lets out a roar of pain as the venomous fangs sink in. Iriander winces in sympathy, and casts around for a rock to use as he tries to keep a defensive posture.

Despite the pain, Berserker takes a large step back and lashes out at another two spiders.

Now swinging with the thought that she could actually die, Ashleigh yells, a wordless battle cry.

Iriander looks for a rock but sees none in this part of the forest.
Berserker kills another two spiders.

Ashleigh Shanna swings her club in a panic, failing to kill the last spider.

The spider attacks Shanna, trying to bite her, provoking an AoO as it tries to crawl onto her.

She swings her club down with a brutal overhand and smashes the spider completely flat.

Seeing the last of the attacking spiders go down, Iriander forces himself to calm down. He moves cautiously to Berserker, keeping an eye on the spiders attacking the rabbit corpse. "I had wanted to bring that to a town to sell, but it's probably more important to get to town safely," he says, regretfully looking at the rabbit corpse. "Let's keep going. Berserker, go slowly and look out for more danger."

Moving cautiously, to keep from provoking attacks from the spiders, he mentally directs Berserker to continue down the game path.

You note that you will either need to leave the path or pass within a foot or two of the feasting spiders. The game trail is very narrow.

"Berserker, check outside of the path." Iriander and Berserker check the foliage beyond the path for signs of other potential animals.

Berserker points to another group up webs not too far away, including a spider larger than the ones you've already fought.

Leaving the game trail here will require pushing through fairly thick undergrowth, and you strongly believe that will attract attention and lead to having to fight off more and potentially more dangerous foes.

"Okay, so if we go off of the trail then we will have to fight even worse things than these guys. Berserker, lead the way; don't go off the trail, and be wary of the spiders attacking. Be careful."

Berserker nods. It moves down the path toward where the spiders are slowly. Jerry moves in Berserker's shadow.
