I get to work from 9 AM to 5 PM today and I get a day off on Wednesday. So that means I won't work in the next 3 days. I'll get plenty of free time this week.

Earlier today I was talking with my mother and the topic of various jobs she's had comes up.

The only time she had a job where the bosses 1: Treated the employees fairly and with respect and 2: Did not try to screw her over at some point was when she worked at a casino.

You know, the industry with a business plan dependant on screwing people over.

I don't know if that's sad or not, but thinking about it...

    1: *Hugs the wizard*

    2: Sometimes I wish I had a Klyntar symbiote.

You don't need to eat or breathe while bonded to one and they can do things like cure your cancer or heal otherwise permanent scaring so I figure I could just have it heal what is probably early-onset arthritis.

I'd finally be able to get exercise on a regular basis without destroying my ability to walk for two days, and without the need to eat I wouldn't put on any weight I'd loose back on.

(Optionally, I might be able to have the symbiote consume my unwanted excess fat cells but that'd be an extreme option.)

I'd have to avoid fire and loud noises... But I already do that.

I'm seriously starting to consider no longer watching youtube videos on my phone period.

Ads that are on the opposite end of the political spectrum from me, sports betting apps (I don't watch sportsball) and these freaking Doctor Squatch ads are all driving me crazy.

Show me things that are at least tangentially related to things I like. MtG, Warhammer, coffee (I do get some of these, thankfully) just not things I could not care less about, or actively despise.

While I don't get political adverts (geography), and what I get bombarded with is adverts for Honey and online casinos, I completely understand. I also get all those 'watch my free seminar to find out how to set up an online business' and once got a fifty minute advert that basically boiled down to 'hey, this is how to brainwash women into having cuddle times with you'.

That one partially insulted me, seeing as it got down to me after I had already found a relationship, and partially actually made me want to watch to see what nonsense they'd come up with. Apparently it has something to do with Fifty Shades of Grey.

Even worse, I got better targeted adverts when I had targeted advertising turned off.

I hear that it's kind of fortunate they changed the title for the film, because it's generated a fandom that gets on the nerve of those putting on productions of the Rocky Horror Show.

Honestly, in most cases musicals work better on stage, that little bit of unreality makes it easier to accept people singing out things that could very easily been talked about. And musicals are really just the modern version of opera, I believe they borrow a lot of the logic as regards to song placements, and scenes being structured to give actors a break after every major character appears in one song (either by cutting to interval or shifting to side characters for five minutes*).

Although interestingly, despite all my research turning up nothing, I cannot convince some people that there is no film of Blood Brothers. Tell me it's not true.

    * I feel much better assuming that this is the reason that Master of the House exists, although I'll note that it's much more bearable on stage.

Blues Brothers is the undisputed greatest musical ever, but the Lane/Broderick film version of The Producers is still one hell of a go. Haven't seen the stage version, admittedly, but being more accessible definitely adds points to film over stage.

I still need to see Blue Brothers, I've only see Blues Brothers 2000 which is... not... it's not great.

Little Shop of Horrors is the actual real based musical to film though.

Blues Brothers 2000 is to Blues Brothers what Alien vs Predator is to Aliens. Or Jaws: The Revenge to Jaws. Or Rocky V to Rocky. Or John Rambo to First Blood. Or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Or The Phantom Menace to A New Hope. Or Terminator Genisys to The Terminator. Or A Good Day to Die Hard to Die Hard. Or any of the Karate Kid sequels to The Karate Kid.

Except moreso. Blues Brothers 2000 is an abomination.

Dating in the Age of Covid: It's like serial dating but without the connection!

I don't know about other people, but dating right now for me goes:
    1. Message or get messaged.
    2. Message each other 30 times a day.
    3. Week goes by, we drop to 20 times a day.
    4. Either we exchange numbers or drop to 10 times a day.
    5. Phone calls or we stop talking,
    5. Number of phone calls drops down after a few weeks.
    6. We stop talking.

Honestly, it doesn't take much to make Menace a good movie just... Off the top of my head, make Jar Jar like 5 percent less clumsy and give him a different accent. Maybe a couple of extra takes on some of the more awkward scenes... If there's a movie that needed a special edition it's PM.

According to the kid who played Annakin, one of the early test cuts was much better than the finished project but it's not clear if he's remembering what he saw properly.

(The problems with Clones and Revenge, as I understand it, are more problems of direction than writing or actors.)

So: When George Lucas has too much control of a movie, you get Phantom Menace. When he doesn't have enough, you get the Holiday Special which in both Legends and Disney EU has a status of "Life Day exists, as does the lady Bea Arthur played, and the Boba Fett Cartoon is canon, but screw everything else."

That's the best argument I can think of when you say that going too far towards the extremes is a bad idea.

On BB2000... I liked that cover of Riders in the Sky.

I mean, months after getting a reply from a beautiful woman I know have three partners and difficulty juggling messages (especially with work), but I hear that I'm a special case. I think that it's partially making a massive effort to actually meet everybody in person, although it took like two three months for that to start happening.

Of course now restrictions are increasing again and I'm getting angsty. I know I have the antibodies so I'm much less likely to spread it, why can't I meet people for dates? (Well I can but I see full lockdown looming.)
