[Rizban]

Ash and the summoned wolf warily circle the large spider before leaping in for the kill. Ash fails to get a solid bite, but the summoned wolf latches onto one of its legs and manages to tear it off.

The spider reels back as Ssrask strikes it, which elicits another horrible scream from the beast before it returns the attack against him.

Unphased by the arachnid's screeching, the draconic lizardfolk steps into a flanking position with the wolf and brings to bear all of it's weapons. Claws from two sets of arms, as well as the thick tail, all seek to end the venomous threat.

Ssrask flexed his claws as the blood-fueled rage subsided. Without a clear threat, his body relaxed and he could focus on how his allies fared.

"How injured are you and your companions, elf? Are we safe to burn away the webbing further to search for the taint?"

Despite the numerous defeated enemies, the lizardfolk looked virtually unscathed. Knowing how leveling seemed to remove him from time for a brief moment, he opened his sheet and accessed the level-up option while he waited for a response.

“Damn, now I’m just ‘elf’, huh?” Iriander thinks to himself.

Out loud, he says, “We’re good enough for now. If this is like the last time, I’ll burn away the webbing until we find part of the corrupted spider, then we can attack it before it gets out of the webbing.”

Iriander picks up the torch from the ground. He could check his sheet to level up, but he figures on waiting until they finish with the tree. Waiting until after means they’ll get more exp from the fight.

He approaches the tree while Berserker keeps an eye out for any more spiders.

Edit: Iriander suddenly stops, having had an idea. "Actually, another level in Druid would be very useful here," he says, before bringing up his own sheet and checking his experience.

Coming out of character advancement, Iriander tsks. “Dammit, I can’t use 2nd level spells until I meditate, so I can’t use Flame Blade yet. Anyway, back to the task at hand.”

He gets to the base of the tree. Iriander takes the torch and begins to burn away the webbing from the tree.

Ssrask appeared to have come out of his sheet at nearly the exact same moment. He stood by, ready in case more spiders should appear while Iriander burned away the webbing.

As Iriander approaches the webbing with the torch, it is ripped apart from within!

The corrupted spider rears up on long, spindly legs, standing as tall as the tallest member of your group, and lifts its front legs to attack, revealing razor sharp claws. The ground smokes as large drops of acid fall from its mandibles



It sprays acid from within its mandibles in a 30 foot cone, which should cover all or most of the party.

"Clever." Ssrask was suprised that the creature had the patience to wait until Iriander approached. Or was it only just triggered to spawn when he did so. This world was a strange mix of life and game. Casting aside such cares, the bestial lizardfolk charged into the threat.

Somewhat surprisingly, Iriander is able to avoid the worst of the acid blast (Berserker and Ash manage to do so as well, but I mean, that's at least kinda expected). "Crap, they're learning," he mutters, sprinting backwards at full speed regardless of the webbing and underbrush. Speaking a few curt, sibilant words and with a quick wave of his hand, the ground beneath the giant spider creature becomes coated in a sticky, gluey substance that threatens to trip it up.

Standard action: Cast Glue Seal on the 5ft square that the corrupted spider is standing within. DC 13 Reflex save or become entanged, and the 5ft square is difficult terrain.

Berserker and Ash leap into action, circling around the spider. Berserker slashes at the creature while flanking with Ssrask, and Ash rips at the creature from another angle.

The corrupted spider manages to hop away from the glue before it can adhere to its legs. Ref - (1d20)[10]

It takes [6] cold damage from the aura as it scurries backwards from the flurry of attacks, all of which fail to deal damage to the monster, provoking attacks as it moves.

It climbs backwards partway up the central tree and then sprays webbing at the party, catching all but Iriander in its area. As the web spell. Party is entangled. Reflex DC 14 or be entangled and immobilized in the webbing.

Ssrask lashed out with a claw as the arachnid attempted to escape. Although he managed to avoid getting stuck to anything when sprayed with the webbing, getting back into melee with the beast was almost impossible.

The frigid energy around him seemed to internalize, strengthening and fortifying his allies. He inhaled deeply and bellowed forth a jet of ice at the spider.

Berserker and Ash take their swipes at the monstrous creature as it retreats.

Iriander winces as he sees Ash be thoroughly wrapped in sticky webbing. Berserker, however, fares much better. "Berserker, move away from Ash! Ash, try to bite the webbing around you to get free!"

Iriander begins casting another spell, as Berserker wades through the webbing and chucks one of the remaining rocks at the creature.

Ssrask slashes deeply as the corrupted spider tries to flee...
Berserker also manages to claw the spider as its flees, but Ash's jaws snap on only empty air.

Ssrasks and Berseker are entangled by the web.
Ash is both entangled and immobilized.

The corrupted spider fails its save against Ssrask's breath weapon, taking the full 2 points of damage.

Berserker is able to move at up to half its full speed towards the spider and throws a rock... but the rock sticks the to webbing on his hands, causing it to merely drop to the ground 5 feet in front of him.

Ash bites uselessly at the web around her, unable to get a good enough bite to deal meaningful damage to it.

The corrupted spider leaps from the tree far above Berserker's head, landing agilely atop the web, using its strands as a stable platform, seemingly able to traverse it without the risk of becoming stuck.

It scurries over to Ssrask and attacks with a single clawed pedipalp.

The draconic lizardfolk was momentarily worried that the target would flee. The fact that it jumped back into melee with him was a welcome turn of events. He would have never caught it while stuck in the webbing. Ssrask brought his full arsenal of natural weapons to bare, tearing and bashing at the chitinous creature.

Iriander finishes casting his spell, and a hippogriff pops into existence right above the corrupted spider's head. Not wanting to throw a rock into such close quarters, potentially hitting an ally, Iriander adopts a defensive posture as the hippogriff goes to town with its powerful foreclaws and beak before dropping to the ground.

Berserker, seeing Ssrask unload, also lashes out with his clawed hands with a roar of fury. Ash, stuck in the web and unable to move, growls in echo and support.

Ssrask manages to strike three times with claws, wounding the corrupted spider grievously.

The summoned hippogriff claws deeply, but its talons get caught in the monster's carapace, preventing the summons from doing critical damage and throwing it off balance, ruining the rest of its attacks.

Berserker, impeded by the web is off balance enough that his clumsy swings only cause his claw to skitter along the surface of the monster's chitin, dealing no appreciable damage.


Focusing on the most consistently dangerous target, the corrupted spider viciously attacks Ssrask to the best of its ability.

Iriander is greatly looking forward to the time when he can set things on fire with his brain. As it is, he continues to stand back and let Berserker and the hippogriff lash out at the corrupted spider.

One of the spider's claws and the bite manage to pierce through the protective scales that cover Ssrask's body, yet the dripping acid sizzled and was rendered inert against the surface.

The lizardfolk bellowed as he allowed the rage of his patron to fortify his body once again. His mass seemsed to increase as the arcane power courses through his blood. He shifted his position slightly to take advantage of his allies positioning. While standing toe to toe (or claw to claw?) with the beast, he loosed a fury of attacks.

Berserker manages a single injuring strike, but Ssrask's flurry of claws rends it with deep wounds. With a spurt of blue-black ichor, the corrupted spider collapses to the ground, its limbs tightening in a death curl.

With a sigh of relief, Iriander approaches the webbing. Finding the anchor point furthest away from the group, he uses his torch to burn the webbing away where it connects to the anchor. Without both anchor points, he hopes that it will collapse. Berserker, for his part, begins to use his claws to cut away the webbing from himself and Ash.

Once the webbing is taken care of, Iriander goes to the body of the fallen corrupted spider. Using his stone knife, he begins to harvest what he can from the body. Remembering where the crystal was on the previous spider's body, he is careful around that area.

As Iriander began burning away the webbing that ensnared him, Ssrask opened his sheet in an attempt to see what type of damage the corruption had done. He also opened up the quest log to see if any additional information had been added, or the requirements had been adjusted.

"Hey Siri, what does corruption damage do?"

After hopefully getting some kind of explanation, he opened the character advancement section.

The web quickly decays into nothing, as though the spell's duration ended along with the spider's.

Corruption is bad!
It taints your body and spirit. It blocks your meridians, making it difficult to cultivate the Inner Energy or advance your Core and ultimately limits your Ascension.

After thoroughly butchering the corpse, Iriander finds another core similar to the first, though the green tinting to this one seems a bit more... putrescent.
