[Wondersmith]

With a bit of work with her tools Lucia manages to disarm the trap successfully, leaving her with the treasure: A pile of gold coins and the gleaming statue. The floor remains intact, and no other dangers present themselves. It seems like the it's a job well done.

Once the group is ready to move on the corridor to the north leads to another small hall that bends northward again--right into a mass of whirling blades. Set into the walls is a series of spinning steel disks, hooks, and pendulums, all blocking the path forward. Periodically they click and woosh through the air, leaving only a few seconds of empty space before another blade takes their place.

There might be enough time for someone quick to slip through the gaps--but it'll be close.

"That was great!" Ardin clapped "I'm sure the audience lauded the skill. Now- on to the next riches!" he said, ready to go.

The Iron Smith Half-Orc Barbarian AC: 17 HP: 35/35 PP: 11 PIv: 9 PIs: 9 Conditions: -- Great job, kid. Chalk one up for us. Halk offers Lucia a high five before they proceed further into the dungeon. He stops short at the spinning blades, giving a sigh. Classic. I think I can make it through. Hopefully there's an off button or a lever or something on the other side. Halk rolls his neck, eliciting a loud pop as he prepares himself to dive through.

"Before going..." Ardin nodded down the other hallway "What are the chances of there being some other treasure if the two pathways were simmetrical? Shouldn't we check it out?"

Winding back through the dungeon on the opposite side leads through a familiar corridor, and back to another small room that mirrors the earlier one—with one large exception.

In this room the floor has already collapsed, fallen away to reveal a shallow pit of bubbling green acid. If there was any treasure here it’s long gone, only cracked flooring remaining.

Ardin looked into the pit.
"Well, clearly next time something similar happens we should split up and try to nab'em both. Anyway- good thing you didn't trigger the trap" he said, addressing Lucia with his last sentence, and then touched Halk imparting in some divine protection.
"Well then- time to check the hallway!"

Lucia nodded. "Not sure how much the rope would help. Though it would make a pretty cool story if it did. A daring escape from burning, acid-y death."

Lucia stood lost in thought,likely contemplating how the story would go. Then, she snapped out of it, turning to Halk. "But right now we have a new story to tell! Go for it!"

The Iron Smith Half-Orc Barbarian AC: 17 HP: 35/35 PP: 11 PIv: 9 PIs: 9 Conditions: -- Halk took a moment to time the blades, letting them slide out and in, out and in, counting under his breath while he watched. Then, when he thought he had the timing down, he leaped forward and rolled into a surprisingly agile tumble, trying to pass through unharmed.

Rolling a dex save with advantage to get through the blades. Adding Inspiration and Guidance to the higher of the two rolls. Saves- (1d20+2)[7] and (1d20+2)[16]. Adding (1d6+1)[4] to the higher of the two from guidance and inspiration.

[Wondersmith]

Blades whirl past Halk as he makes his dive through the gasp between steel, tumbling through the empty gaps adeptly. He clears the hallway in a few seconds, the clank of metal sounding off behind him as blades rotate through the spot he just passed. He is, impressively, unharmed.

He also finds himself in a wider room beyond the hallway, more stone and torches and suits of armor inside. These particular pieces of armor don’t seem very active—but what does is the large stone vat in the middle of the room. It’s filled with bubbling acid, similar to the kind that he saw in the opposite hallway earlier.

The acid is shifting and churning, as if something is moving around beneath the surface—though what it may be is hard to tell without getting closer.

There is, unfortunately, no convenient lever or switch to turn the blades off. They continue to swoosh and click as they move through their cycles.

He shouts back over his shoulder Medium size room. Suits of armor, but they aren't moving yet. One exit straight ahead, and some sort of pool of acid in the middle of the room. No lever, no switch for the blades. I can try to break them if you want, but it looks like you're all coming through one way or another.

[Estralita]

"Maybe the suits could jam up the blades? Or we could toss the acid on them? Hey, maybe that's what the acid is for! Hold on a sec, I'm coming through." Lucia started stretching, ready to tumble through unless her allies wanted to offer any assistance.

Aaron began to regret his life choices before looking to the mage, wondering aloud, "Do you have some sort of spell that could throw some of that acid on the blades?"

[Valmark]

Ardin shook his head.
"Best I can do is throw fire at them" he offered apologetically touching Lucia's shoulder "Maybe the acid's not strong enough to corrode the helmets? I doubt that. I find it weird that we just have to get through though..."

"Maybe you can scoop up some of the acid on this side with the helmets, then toss it at the base! While you're doing that, I'll check out the other side.Five, Six, Seven, Eight!"

Here goes nothing. Except posssibly Lucia's fingers, feet, head...

Dexterity (Acrobatics) (d20+7)[23] +(1d4)[2]

Lucia’s tumble takes her through the blades as well, through the mass of whirling blades and safely to the other side.

As she lands from her tumble and begins to rise she gets a clearer look at the vat of acid beyond, the way it churns and moves—and she’s the first to see the long, black claw that emerges to grasp the side of the pool. With a great heave and surge of liquid the thing the claw is attached to emerges from the vat, black scales surfacing and toothy maw opening in a roar.

It’s a dragon. A wyrmling to be exact, but still an impressive sight as it drags itself free from the vat. The size of a horse maybe, all black scales, claws, and teeth. Droplets of acid splatter across the floor, smoking and sizzling as the dragon focuses baleful red eyes upon the two nearest intruders.

It’s immediately clear the wyrm is not friendly.

Aaron is the first to act once the dragon emerges, taking aim and firing his crossbow through the hall of blades. The bolt goes wide, unfortunately.

The dragon itself is focused on the intruders immediately in front of it. With another roar it emerges fully from the vat of acid, snarling in its draconic tongue as its head rears backward. Jaws open wide and acidic breath washes toward Lucia and Halk, a cloud of burning green fumes that washes through the hallway and the two dungeoneers in front of it.

On the bright side the acidic breath corrodes and melts through the swinging blade trap in a mere few seconds, granting free passage to those beyond.

Unfortunately, those caught within the blast suffer the same fate.

After a bit of thinking, Ardin took out his symbol.
"With the blessing of Dyonysus we shall triumph!" he declared, as divine might washed over the group.

Casting Bless- I'll use my Concentration spell now and try any Grease+fire shenanigans next round pending an answer on Discord.

The Iron Smith Half-Orc Barbarian AC: 17 HP: 26/35 PP: 11 PIv: 9 PIs: 9 Conditions: Rage (10 rounds) Halk manages to get his shield up as the acid washes over him, taking the brunt of the corrosive splash away. Once the torrent ends, he lowers his shield and raises his hammer, taking a deep breath. Pointing the hammer at the dragon, he shook his head slowly side to side and drew his extended thumb across his neck, putting on a good show for the crowd. Then he sprinted forward, giving a bellowing roar, and brings the hammer down. As he does, fiery after images of other smiths of Vulcan rise up to hedge the scaled wyrm in, directing it's attacks at the Iron Smith and away from his team mates.

Saved vs. Acid damage. Bonus action rage. Move to melee range with the dragon. Reckless attack for advantage on the attack (dragon gets advantage against Halk and disadvantage against anyone else). To hit- (1d20+5)[18] and (1d20+5)[23] with advantage, adding (1d4)[4] to the higher roll from Bless. If I hit (1d8+5)[11] damage.

Lucia quickly flipped away from the acid. She wasn't quite fast enough to avoid getting splashed completely, but as she landed and spun around to face the wyrmling, she showed no signs or awareness of pain. Instead she pulled her megaphone off of her hip and brought it to her mouth for her loudest shout yet:

Took a bit to figure out how I wanted to choreograph this, but I think I got it.

Anyway, what she's actually doing is casting Dissonant Whispers, which triggers a Wisdom Save. On a failure, it takes 3d6 psychic damage and tries to run from Lucia as a reaction. Like the Acid, half damage on a success.

When Lucia lets out her shout the wyrmling shrinks back, rounding about and making a panicked retreat from the halfling cheerleader. It scrambles backward, back over the vat and to the back of the room. Aaron follows, attempting to plunge his sword into the retreating monster. A claw deflects the blade, just barely.

The black wyrm roars once again, shifting to attack its first pursuer. Claws rake out toward Aaron, attempting to sheer through him. The strike is clumsy, the dragon wounded badly and distracted by Halk's assault.

Seeing how the others seemed to have it handled, Ardin hold up his crystal ball.
"No fancy tricks this time!" he said and four darts appeared around him, then zeroed on the wyrmling slamming against it.

"All right! Let's do it! Don't stop!"Lucia's cheer/attack continued to batter the wyrmling. Then Lucia paused lost in thought for a second, before resuming. "Except for you, Acid Dragon Creature. You stop fighting right now!"

Ardin’s spell crashes into the dragon, sending it reeling backward. The great hammer swing from Halk does much the same, the blunt instrument smashing into the black scales and drawing a roar of pain. Before it can round for another attack Lucia’s shout hammers into it, striking the finishing blow. It stumbles forward a few steps, raises a vicious claw—and then topples to the stone tiles.

There’s a pregnant silence, and then the sound cuts in. Coming from hidden speakers all around the room is the sudden roar of crowds, cheers and shouts for the victors.

“The Temple of Terror…” Booms a voice, “Has been vanquished!”

A chime signals to indicate that the challenge has finished, and a second voice requests: “Victors, please exit the dungeon!”

The whole building seems to shudder as traps deactivate and clear the path behind. This leaves the party some time to speak amongst themselves as they head back toward the locker rooms where the interviewers will be waiting.
